Novelette. Continuation of the Omega Series.

On the night of Crown Princess Phoibe’s coronation in New York, she is granted two guardians to assist her reign from among the many gods and goddesses in the Greek pantheon. Artemis, as expected, remains her fervent protector, but the identity of her second guardian is an unsettling omen of what is to come. His sudden involvement in her life marks dramatic change not only for her, but for the world.

No sooner is her new protector appointed than the longstanding peace between humanity and gods is shattered. The fourteen-year-old Queen of Greece faces a grim reality: there may be no one left alive to stop the gods from destroying everyone, if she doesn’t turn to her unwanted protector for help.

The Theta Beginnings Miniseries occurs five years before “Omega” (#1, Omega Series.) The Omega Series consists of:

Embracing Destiny

This series must be read in order. The first books are contained within the Omega Beginnings Miniseries Book. The next book is Omega. This is the first Theta Beginnings Miniseries Book. I can't wait to read Mercenary!

Phoibe is finally old enough to be crowned Queen. This is the day she has been trained, groomed, and bred for. Too bad her power is only symbolic and her Throne just another part of her Curse. With Theodosia by her side at least she has one ally and friend. What do the Gods have in store for her? Will Zeus allow her to continue to thwart the Curse? Can she survive her anger at the Gods? Can they? Why must every blessing carry a heavy Curse? Can their world continue on the way that it is?

This serial was awesome and action packed. Lizzy gives you so much in this short story with a background of who the Silent Queen is and what is expected to be her future. She is left to make a tough decision within the first hour of being queen and it leaves room for uncertainty and self doubt that could be catastrophic for all.

At 66%, I just absolutely knew that I was going to have a fit at the end. Lizzy Ford just ROCKED the hell out of her new series Theta Beginnings with Silent Queen. I think even Zeus is proud of her writing prowess. I LOVED IT!

Last year, Ford penned the awesome Omega Beginnings Miniseries and it was the first place I met young Phoibe. Destined to be queen but a lonely little girl, Phoibe captures your heart and imagination and compassion. Fast forward to Silent Queen, Phoibe has grown up and comes of age to be officially crowned queen. Wise beyond her years due to certain heartbreaking events, Phoibe is still defiant and exceptionally regal, befitting her bloodline. During her coronation, she has a number of unexpected guests, some far more treacherous in the guise of protector. One guest in particular is a serious blast from the past. So much so, Phoibe ponders whether she would ever find happiness with someone. Her coronation continues with a few more surprises that render the Silent Queen speechless and wary. One of her visitors warns her of impending danger and Phoibe finds herself in a most tenuous decision making struggle: fight the gods or not?

The Silent Queen delivers magic and lore and all with the blessings of the gods. Ford’s descriptions are incredible. She mixes two time periods so seamlessly that you find yourself accepting it as the norm. Her descriptions of Phoibe’s gown and scepter...simply magical. I loved this Theta Beginning because Ford not only brought characters from one series into a brand new one but she also created new characters to want to know and new characters to step away from. This story most definitely has the makings of another great series and possible book! I for one can’t wait for the next installment to hit my kindle. EEEK!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I've really enjoyed Miss Ford's books since the moment I picked up Omega and then went on to browse through her many titles, and this one was no different!

Silent Queen tells the story of Phoibe, who became known as the Silent Queen because she hasn't said a word since she was just a child, and we've learned this happened because Mismatch (her ancestor) ordered her to do so because children of the Bloodline are cursed, and when they utter a particular sentence, they will eventually turn into stone grotesques after the succession is secure. We see all this in the Phoibe novella, but in Silent Queen, we move forward in the timeline (still not aligned with the story in Omega and Theta, as these are again flashbacks, to a sort of middle ground I suppose, five years before the story begins) to her coronation day, and the beginning of the conflict between the Gods and humanity (or, well, let's be honest, the Greek Gods going on a rampage while humans get to watch and die).

The problem arises, however, from the two patrons Phoibe has been acknowledged by, as each ruler before her had one, but she now has two - ominous enough - and not only that, but it gets even better! Sarcasm abound here. Luckily, our favourite Titan is around to help save the day, even if Theodocia does end up making a deal with the devil. And a rebellion is born.

The Silent Queen by Lizzy Ford is an incredible continuation to the Omega series. We are reintroduced to Phoibe the little princess who never spoke and is now being crowned Queen of Greece at the tender age of 14. The Goddess Artemis has always been a great support and guardian for Phoibe and it is no surprise she is part of the ceremony. But when Zeus himself participates in the ceremony and names another God to be a second guardian, Thanatos, the God of Death, Phoibe is shocked and uneasy with this choice. Yet it seems The God of Death had no idea either and he is just as taken aback by this development. With the coronation underway and Phoibe being anointed by both her guardians the story brings in characters such as Lantos and Theodocia from the original series on this journey. Immediately following the coronation the gods declare war on the world leaving Phoibe vulnerable and uncertain what to do to help stop mass destruction she sees taking place as she is rushed to safety. Is she to ask her new guardian, Thanatos, for help? What is to become of Phoibe and the world? I cannot wait for the next installment!! Definitely a must read.

Short, but sweet. A continuation of the series that not only contains a full novel, but a number of novelettes that give the background that either can't be included in the full novel or you wished were in there, but isn't. The last novelette we read on Phoibe was when she was a little girl. In this one, she is 14 and being crowned the Queen of Greece. It is before Omega and helps with filling the gaps that the previous set of novelettes did not cover. Like with the previous books, these are great. We know that Phoibe's family is cursed and that her Bloodline is special. In this novelette, we get the firsthand telling of the beginning of the war and her side in what happened.

If you are like me, you'll love these and given they will be free, if you liked Omega and want to continue the series, you won't want to miss out on reading this. These novelettes are very well written and help clarify events.

I LOVE this series!!!

Lizzy Ford is back with the second mini series of the fabulous Omega series, Theta Beginnings, and boy we hit the ground running. Silent Queen starts where Omega 9the full length novel) left off and just like with the first mini-series, Omega Beginnings, we are left shouting at our kindles over the cliffhanger ending. Usually I can hazard a guess as to where the plot is going but with Lizzy Ford I never know, just when I think I know the rug is pulled from under me and I'm left reeling from the shock.

This may be a short story but it's packed with enough adrenalin-fuelled plot twists to keep you hooked until the end. If you're into Greek mythology, explosive and unexpected plot twists themn this is the series for you!

WOW - this was awesome!!! If you haven't read Omega and the Omega Beginnings Miniseries, please read it before reading Silent Queen. It will catch you up on what is going on - what has happened previously to this book - and who all the characters in the book are.

This is a novelette - so it is really a fast read. The story starts with Phoibe being crowned the Queen of Greece and the details of her coronation. I don't write spoilers - and with this being a very short story - I can't say a whole lot without giving the story away. BUT - I will say this --- once you start reading, you will NOT be able to put this down until you finish!!!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review!!!

I was so excited to hear that these next serials had started as I loved the omega mini series and novel. I love that we get pieces of specific characters this way as I think it brings a deeper feel to them once the novel that follows comes out. I loved her character as a child and now that she is coming into her own we get to see a different side of her. There was a nice surprise to see an old "friend" come back to see her but he comes with a dire warning. And still leaves me to wonder what his ulterior motives are. There is definitely a bigger story coming with Theta and I can't wait to see what it is! If you like getting to dive deep into the minds of the characters you read about these are an awesome way to do that.

This series keeps getting better and better. Phoibe is now ready to become Queen and Zeus has come to the ceremony to present her guardians. First one is Theodocia, who like a mother to Phoibe, but the second is a surprise - Thanatos, the God of Death.

Does this mean Zeus is telling Phoibe she will eventually die or does it mean that Thanatos will help her stay alive?

Lantos appear and I'm still not sure where his loyalties lie yet, but he gives her a heads up from the Oracle to leave right after the ceremony. What are happens to Phoibe and is she safe or in harms way?

I can't wait to read the next part in this wonderful series. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves Greek Mythology and paranormal.

Well anyone who has read any of my blogs or my facebook page will know that Lizzy Ford is one of my all-time favorite authors. I think I would read a menu if she wrote it. That's how much I love her work. She really is an amazingly talented author. Anyway, on to my review :)

This book is very entertaining and in true Lizzy Ford fashion, it will drag you into the story and keep you wondering what is going on.

I really don't want to spoil any of this story for you because Lizzy's books are a treasure that really needs to be opened and explored for yourself. I will however, tell you that this book is the start of a series that is sure to be amazing.

Well damn! What a way to start a mini series. It's Phoibe's coronation, there are surprises in store for the Silent Queen and her guardian but even as they're adjusting that, there are much bigger things in store. It's very short so I don't want to give anything away, but as soon as the coronation is over, everything moves at super speed, there isn't time to do anything but get to the end... And then the cliff hanger hits you and you want to scream!!!
Definitely ready for part 2... Right now!

Since I had not read the previous ones it was to me starting a new adventure. The author snatches you up right away with Phoibe with me wondering how I would of reacted if in her shoes so to speak. Big undertaking but one prepared for but not the way it actually goes down. Surprise is a key element in capturing the reader which this author does with this story and the foundation being quite intriguing. It is quick , packed full and exhilarating. Nice climax at the end.

The story begins with Phoibe's, the silent queen, coronation ceremony. The unanticipated guests and events during and afterwards keeps you wandering each characters motive.

As the reader, you feel as mystified as the characters and left hanging onto the next page until you realizing the book has ended.

Can't wait for the next book to the Theta miniseries...

This novelette takes us into the life of the Silent Queen as she officially is crowned and immediately must go on the run for her life. She faces decisions and must struggle thru whether to trust the gods or take huge risks. As all Lizzy Ford books, this is beautifully written and follows in the footsteps of the Omega miniseries, providing fun tidbits about the characters we love.

Too short Lizzy, I want to know what happens. You left me with another cliffhanger ending and now I have to wait again grrrrr. I find I have to look up a review on what happened in the last book to be able to keep up with all the characters and where they are at. It still makes for a riveting story with unpredictable twists and turns.

I enjoyed reading Silent Queen very much. This is about Crown Princess Phoibe. The coronation takes place and she meets Lantos, who she hasn't seen in seven years. He has a message for her saying she is in danger. As she is leaving, everything goes up in fire. What will the future hold for Phoibe now?

In this very original introduction, we learn about the 14 year old recently chosen Queen of the world, a "silent" woman who inherited the crown named Phiobe. The question we are left with, that she is left with as the gods rain vengence down on earth is why?

And in the whole 31 pages, all I kept thinking was this is an amazing story and is the rest available?
