Pepper O’Malley isn’t one to be toyed with. Fool her once, shame on you. Fool her twice, and they’ll have trouble finding your body. She used to dream of white picket fences and happily-ever-afters, but now she lives in the real world. As the saying goes, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned,” especially when that woman is a redheaded spitfire.

Griffin Locklaine always viewed commitment as a four-letter word. He was clear about what he wanted from the start and made no apologies for it. He didn't care if he came off cold as ice. He lived for his job, his family, and his friends. He had no desire for a relationship. That was until he saw the once-young-and-scrawny Pepper all grown up.

They’re like oil and water, fire and ice. A volatile combination that should never work together. Unfortunately, fate has other ideas. A spark like theirs left ignored has a tendency to burn out of control, leaving everyone to wonder who will be left standing when it finally explodes. Only one thing is certain. When they finally come together, it’s going to be epic.

**Fire & Ice is Griffin and Pepper's story. It is book 1 in a spin off series for characters introduced in Love Hate Relationship. It is recommended you read Love Hate Relationship first**

Hero was a dick, he slept with his best friends younger sister, the next time she sees him hes got a "busty babe" sitting on his lap, he proceeds to sleep around as usual, finally he decides it's time for them to get together, bullies his way into her life and she just lets him, another spineless, weak heroine who lets her privates think for her.

This was a pleasant surprise!

Not gonna lie, I typically avoid cop heros, because they tend to have a working moral compass. 😬 But this guy was way more aggressive and up in her business than I expected from an Officer of the Law. Quite the bulldozer. 😍😍 He wasn’t afraid to go for what he wanted and take advantage of circumstances. We even get a good jealous/possessive caveman scene. 🤩🤩🤩

There’s angst but not too much. It says it’s a romcom, but it’s subtle, not obnoxious. He grovels after a misunderstanding.

The only reason this isn’t a 5-star is because his reason for ghosting her after he takes her v-card is lame, IMO. Especially since he just flips on a dime without any real reason given, 4 years later. Why couldn’t he have just made that decision years earlier before she had moved on with her life and been with OP??? His bulldozing helped soothe my soul, but it cost him a star. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Bottom Line? I really enjoyed it, and will likely go searching for more from this author that fit my parameters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⚠️SAFETY SQUAD SPOILERS⚠️

- no cheating or sharing

- OW drama - pretty mild - she sees him about to go on a date a couple times. Both times cause drama, but that’s the extent of it

- OM drama - there’s an OM who wants to take the h out, and this makes the H jealous

- no dubcon - H is aggressive and a bulldozer but never truly crosses any lines

- h is 21 years old when the H takes her v-card and ghosts her - it is implied that she is intimate with other partners during the 4 years since, but no specifics or details are given

- H is a 29 yr old manwhore when he takes the h’s v-card and bails (he has reasons) - it is implied that he was with OP during their separation but no details or specifics are given - he is celibate a few months before making a play for the h in the current timeline

- condoms are used then not used - they briefly discuss safety

- no intimate scenes with OP

Pointless.

Griffin is a dickhead manwhore who treated Piper like shit. He's the loser you dump. I hated his stupid ass.

Pepper's just another pathetic doormat who can't keep away from Griffin's magic dick.

From the moment she met her brother's friend Griff,Pepper developed a crush that lasted until finally at 21 he seemed to stop seeing her as a child. After one night together after which he disappeared Pepper's dreams of happily ever after with Griff turns into anger and hate to mask the hurt that the person she'd seen herself with had done a hit and run leaving with her virginity. As Pepper's business developed and she matured she dated but things between her and Griff never improved. They were always arguing with him always pushing her buttons until he started relentlessly pursuing her.

Griff knew he'd made a mistake after his night with Pepper but when he tried telling his best friend that he'd been with his sister he realized that Dex would never accept him for Pepper so he just let things like and life went on. He dated numerous other women but has always loved pushing Pepper's buttons to see her fiery side. At their friend's wedding however something changed and Griff was no longer able to get Pepper out of his head. He was determined to have her again, problem was......she hated his guts!

Ok so
The good
Well written
Pepper wasn't a doormat she made Griff work for his second chance
When he tried getting Pepper back he was all in and didn't want another woman

The Bad
He had ONE simple convo with her brother where he ATTEMPTED to bring up the topic of him being with Pepper. It actually didn't take much for him to back off at all and one week later he was with ANOTHER WOMAN when she walked in(nothing sexual was happening but they were going out on a double date)
He never explained!!!! Not even a dear Jane brush off, he knew he took her virginity and still nothing!
He was a coward
He was a manwhore
There wasn't really an explanation for why he suddenly wanted Pepper just that he couldn't get her out of his head

All in all the latter part of the book where he was pursuing her was all the usual yummy Alpha goodness but his handling of the previous time they were together sucked big time and drastically lowered my rating.

Another man was interested in Pepper (the H of another book) but that didn't go anywhere

This book was just ok. Maybe I should have read the blurb a little more closely, but I generally avoid stories where the h has been in love with her older brother's best friend for a long time. If you're into that kind of plot, you might like this book. It had its funny bits, but this just wasn't for me.

What I liked:
1) Seeing Navie again. I really liked her in her story.
2) When Pepper stood up to Griffin in the beginning. Too bad it didn't last long.

What I didn't like:
1) Griffin. Sorry, but his alphaness was a turn off for me. What he did to Pepper in the past was so uncool. Then he thought that he could just get her out of his system by sleeping with her again. He had no respect for women or her. I kind of hated him and wanted more for her. And when he wanted his way, he bullied. He demanded that she forgive him for being a complete a-hole in the past. Really? What about showing that you're sorry? Plus, his narrative, especially at the beginning of this book when he's talking his history with tons of other women grossed me out. He's the main reason I didn't like this book.
2) Pepper. Why did she have to be so weak? She needed to make Griffin grovel. Just because she couldn't resist him physically doesn't mean that she should give into him. Ugh. She's the other reason I didn't like this book.

Oh boy the tension and heat between Griffin and Pepper sizzled off the page, at times, as a kid Pepper found herself falling in love with her brother’s 20 something best-friend, but alas all he saw was a little girl until she turned 21, what happened next led Pepper to thinking she’d be getting her very own long dreamed for HEA, but now in the present whenever they see one another, their conversations are filled with barbs and animosity – but heat continues to simmer beneath the service waiting to explode.

Since There were moments at the start where I wasn’t keen on Griffin, but he improved as things went along.

I liked Pepper’s gumption in this, all grown up and after their night together years ago, she doesn’t give in to Griffin as soon as he comes back trying to get some.

Pepper has another man interested in her

Enemies to lovers

This is a spin-off from another Jessica Prince book with Rowan and Navie. Griffin is Rowan's cousin and Pepper is the girl who dresses Rowan and is also Griffin's partner's (Dex) sister. They had a one night stand years ago and ever since then have been enemies. However, recently Griffin has decided he would like more with Pepper, but her brother Dex will get upset.

Overall Opinion: This was cute. I still liked Love Hate Relationship better, but Griffin was pretty hot. I don't think we got really deep into the characters or the storyline tbh, and I was extremely frustrated with the ending too. If your looking for a light, sexy, and sometimes funny book -- this is a good one for you.

**I would highly recommend reading Love Hate Relationship before this one, because otherwise you might be lost**

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Pepper and Griffin's story. Griffin is one of Pepper's older brother's best friends, and they meet when Pepper is 12 and he is 21. Pepper claims love at first sight, but every time she sees him she is disappointed by his lack of interest. That is until she is 21 and he ends up taking her virginity and leaving her the next day. The next 4 years are spent at each other's throats because Pepper hates him for what he did, but Griffin is ready to change that. They start secretly seeing each other, and fall in love. There are some hot scenes, some funny moments, a little drama...and they get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Pepper and Griffin's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the end (see closure section). I thought it flowed well, and I never skimmed.

Instalove: No. They've known each other for many years.

H rating: 4 stars. Griffin. I liked him. Yes, he was a manwhore previously -- but he was ALL about the h in this book. He was a pretty hot alpha too ;)

h rating: 4 stars. Pepper. I really liked her sassy, no bs attitude. I didn't rate her 5 stars because of the misunderstanding that happened close to the end -- I wanted her to give him more of a chance to communicate what happened.

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Moderate. They have some hot chemistry, and the H is a great dirty talker when he got into it.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: Yes and no. They stop using condoms after a std and birth control talk. No mention of past practices that I remember.

OW/OM drama: Mild

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Mild

Closure: This had a really abrupt ending with just a little closure. Nowhere near enough for me! I would call it a HFN ending at best.

How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.

Safety: Safe with exception

So I had the pleasure of riding in Jessica Prince's trunk when I met her in Houston the first time. I SHOULD ADD THAT I WENT IN THERE VOLUNTARILY AND IT WAS AN OPEN SPACE SO I HAD AIR TO BREATH!

So of course after being on my knees with her, I figured hey why not pick up the new book that is coming out. And let's just say I gobbled this up! I couldn't put it down!!!

OH AND THE GUY IS A COP!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!!HE HAS HANDCUFFS AND CAN USE THEM!!!

Pepper O’Malley isn’t one to be toyed with. Fool her once, shame on you. Fool her twice, and they’ll have trouble finding your body.

Oh and that is putting it lightly. I have a new hero and her name is Pepper O'Malley. That's right people, she live in New York. SCORE. Owns her VERY OWN fashion boutique. SCORE TWICE. Has killer shoes that she wear. SCORE THREE TIMES. And she is funny!! YES YES YES

But she's also a woman scorned! And you know what they say 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'. Griffin Locklaine I would duck and cover!

I narrowed my eyes in anger.
"And have I ever told you I've fantasized about setting you on fire?"
"You've fantazised about me?" he asked. "That's so hot."
I felt that agitated growl vibrate up my chest. I was just contemplating how badly scratching his eyes out would screw up my manicure.

SEEE SHE'S MY HERO!!!

Griffin Locklaine is afraid of commitment. Okay maybe that's a strong word. He just wants one thing and then it's see you later. He didn't care that he hurt your feelings. He din't care that you thought it was more. And he isn't one to not tell it like it is.

He didn't care if he came off cold as ice. He lived for his job, his family, and his friends. He had no desire for a relationship. That was, until he saw the once-young-and-scrawny Pepper all grown up.

So they shared one amazing night together. One night that she cherished, except when she woke up to a cold bed and a single note. She thought that she was just another notch on his bed post, but what she didn't know is that Mr. Big Tough Man isn't so tough anymore. He's just had the best sex of his life with his best friend's little sister.

But well it can't be that easy. Pepper will never make it that easy. I think he has a better chance at slaying the dragon then finally getting Pepper to admit that what they have can be something.

What I loved most is that he fought her. Her pushed to the edge. He made her see that together no matter how much it looked like oil and water, or fire and ice, it came down to the two of them being that other person.

The person that you want to wake up to, the person you want to share your today with, your tomorrow with, your dreams, your hopes, your successes, your everything. That is what they have.

But the road to happily ever after is filled with pot holes, speed bumps and some detours, but it you drive carefully the destination is so much more than you thought it would be.

This book I laughed hard, I swooned harder, and I loved the hardest. I can't love it more!!!

Friends, Enemies to lovers and Forever.

An explosive read that leave you panting for more. Who doesn’t love a forbidden romance. Pepper has been in love with Griffin since she was 12 years old. Her brothers best friend. Sure it was unrequited love him being older and all. He just saw her as his friends kid sister.

Over the years her love grew and she still wasn’t on his radar, until she was. One night years later and these two finally succumb to the blistering chemistry and then nothing. Griff disappears from her life. No contact unless he’s with her brother who is now his partner with the NYPD.

Peppers love is now that of hostility these two can’t be in the same room without coming to blows. She may try to hate him but you just can’t turn off the love she still has got him.

A second chance at love, enemies to lovers to forever. It won’t be smooth sailing not with these two. Expect steam filled sex, accusations, anger and laughter.

Jessica delivers a well written fun and engaging read with characters you can’t help but love.

Welp. It's been a while since I last read a book written by Jessica Prince. The last book was Addictive, and speaking of which, when are you gonna release the third book, Jessica ?

I didn't know this was a spin-off of this author's other book to be honest, so I wasn't familiar with this duo. But honestly you don't have to read Love Hate Relationship to fall in love with them because I sure did the moment they started their bantering. Haha.

I loved the chemistry between the two, laughed so hard at their antics and I genuinely enjoyed this book. So YAY!

I thought Pepper wouldn't be one to be fooled with.
Yeah, sorry, to say that, but she is.
I hate, really, really hate novels that tell me that the female character will be strong, independent and not just fall for a guy who left her after he so much as notices her. Well, this is exactly one of those books and I just can't tell you how sick I am of those.

The main male character was a jerk. He's a manwhore, thinks he can toy with his best friend's little sister, thinks he can just have her again after he took her virginity years ago. I mean, he doesn't really want a relationship with her because she deserves better but a hook-up? Sure, why not?

I disliked the character, would have loved the writing style but also hated the plot so I stopped with this novel.
Absolutely not my book.

-----------
She loved him all life from a distance because he was a friend of her older brother. When the attraction was stronger and the two have a night together, he takes her virginity and leaves a note and continues as if nothing had happened. She is heartbroken and feels totally rejected. Pass 4 years and he keeps having sex with several women and all right in her face.
The scenes between the two and their fights are explosive.
He wakes up to life and resolves that won't stay away from her and the war begins.
I liked the story and the heroin, I found the hero with no backbone because he's afraid of losing the friendship of her brother and in the process end up hurting the feelings of the heroin.

==>Highlights:
"I was a complete coward. I was going to hurt one person to spare another because I had no backbone. I was a shitty friend and an even worse man."

Pepper O'Malley believed that the love of her life would be Griffin Macklaine, she knew it when she was a young girl and then she thought she finally had her chance when they ended up together one night, but when she woke up he was gone and avoided her like the plague. The only problem is he is the best friend and partner to her brother.

Griffin knows he made a huge mistake with Pepper years ago, and after continuing to play the field he realizes there is no other woman who even comes close to how he feels about Pepper. Pepper though has made it extremely clear she hates him, but when one thing leads to another Griffin gets his second chance but for the time being they are keeping their relationship quiet but can it stand the test that is coming their way?

This was a lot of fun, the sass and chemistry is off the charts. Pepper is a firecracker and Griffin is pure alpha male which makes a terrific combination for this story. I can't wait to read the others in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.

Once again Jessica Prince has given us a new bbf to fall in love with in this funny and beautiful story.

Griffin Locklaine has never been one for relationships or commitment where women are concerned, that is until he realises his best friends sister Pepper has grown into a beautiful, sassy young women.

Pepper O'Malley is a fiery redhead, she's an Independent young women with her own business and isn't a girl to be messed with but that's exactly where Griffin goes wrong after they spend the night together.

The banter they have had me laughing so much it hurt they are definitely like fire and ice when they are together but the sexual chemistry they have is off the scale will Griffin work his way back into Pepper's heart or did he break it years ago beyond repair?

You know when you happen to come across a book that is just about perfect and its such a pleasant surprise? Well prepare to be surprised!! This book was a free buy on Amazon when I got it . Its just been sitting there waiting to be read and now that I have I'm kicking myself for not reading it sooner! This is a book of friends and lovers just a good book about life and love. I'm not kidding I laughed out loud several times. Twenty-something's living in New York day to day life, sexy times, sad times and some epically funny times make this a great find, it did have a few grammar issues but grammar smammer it didn't stop me from enjoying this book. Griffin and Pepper are a great couple!
HEA, no cliffhanger and epilogue means read this book!!

“We were like fire and ice, a rather poignant analogy if you thought about it, but it was us.”

Fire & Ice is a Love Hate Relationship spin-off. You don’t need to read Love Hate Relationship to enjoy the story because I haven’t read it, but I certainly enjoyed Fire & Ice. I have read Wildflower so I was familiar with the gang. I really liked Wildflower and with Fire & Ice, I’m beginning to love this little group.

Fire & Ice is a forbidden love novel. Pepper O’Malley has been in love with her brother’s best friend, Griffin Locklaine, since she was a scrawny little girl. Griffin who is much older than Pepper has never really seen Pepper …that is until she grows up. One night after the grand opening of her store, Griffin and Pepper cross that line. Pepper gives Griffin her virginity; she’s living on cloud nine until she sees Griffin with another woman. Pepper is brokenhearted and love quickly turns to hate.

This is their story…4 years later….

If you are looking for a sexy, sweet romance story with a bit of humor, then this is your book! Griffin and Pepper are great characters. The novel is dual POV and I love it. I especially love Griffin. He cracks me up. Griffin starts out thinking he is sick because he doesn’t seem to want to have sex anymore. He’s turning women down left and right.

“Damn woman! No means no!” “I’m not in the mood so just back off!”

“For Christ’s sake! Could no one see I was sick?”

He had me laughing right from the start. He knows he’s got it bad for Pepper and regrets how he left things four years ago, but she’s still off-limits to him.

“My friendship with Dex ran deep. I cared about the man. He was my brother. Even though the thought of hurting her killed, I just couldn’t do it.”

However, he is only human; he eventually gives into his desires and Pepper can’t seem to resist him despite the hurt and anger she has towards him. Their relationship is volatile with constant bickering. They challenge each other, but they also complete one another and it was beautiful to watch them fall in love.

“I wasn’t falling in love with Griffin Locklaine. I’d never fallen out. I was ass-over-elbow, in stupid love with the man who’d broken my heart once already.”

“Only me. Only you.”

Pepper is also a great character. She’s a spitfire and she tries to keep Griffin at a distance. She’s angry, somewhat immature, and irrational with him, but I don’t blame her. While at times I think Griffin and Pepper acted liked teenagers with all the bickering, I actually think it was realistic. When it comes to love, we can all be immature at times.

“This isn’t me running! This is me being pissed off that you’d have the nerve to throw the last four years in my face when you fucking know why I didn’t want to have anything to do with you.”

I think Griffin truly learned his lesson, though. I felt he repented and made up for his errors. He really tries to make up for what he did. He puts in a lot of effort to tear down her walls. When that man puts on the charm, he’s a hard man to resist. =)

“How are you so beautiful all the fucking time?”

“I was fucking gone for the woman.”

“Tell me you forgive me.”

I also thought Pepper was hoot. At times, she made me laugh too. At one point Pepper is mugged, but she’s so feisty she refuses to see the severity of the situation.

“I’d hardly say he beat the hell out of me.”

“He hit you in the face twice and knocked you out cold. He nearly dislocated your shoulder. What the fuck would you call it?!”

LOL…if I wasn’t chuckling in this book, then I was swooning. However, this book is more than romance too. It touches on family and friendship as well. I kind of fell in love with the whole gang. They are a crazy bunch. Dex and Pepper had a great brother-sister relationship but it was nice to see the problems they had and see them resolve them. I also enjoyed reading about the wonderful friendships among the group; I loved seeing how close all the boys were with each other. Their strong bond made me smile. I honestly can’t wait for the next Locklaine story. So to sum it up– READ THIS BOOK!

Happy reading!

5 Scorching Stars!!!

This is Pepper and Griffin's story in the first book of The Locklaine Boys which is a spinoff from Love Hate Relationship which is where we were first introduced to Griffin Locklaine. I agree with Ms. Prince that it's best to read Love Hate Relationship before reading Fire and Ice!

Now on to the good stuff!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this book!! Talk about chemistry flowing off the pages. Pepper is the little sister of Dex O'Malley who's best friend is Griffin Locklaine and the "boy" she's had a crush on for all of her teenage years. Unfortunately, Griffin never thought of Pepper as anything more than a little girl. This is of course because Pepper didn't really come into her fiery beauty until her late teens and by then, Pepper's infatuation with Griffin was something she was still harboring in her heart.

Well, on the night Pepper opens her boutique in NYC, things change for these two in a significant way and while Pepper thinks this is the beginning of something, unfortunately Griffin messes up and in a big way and these two go back to being that oil and water mixture that just doesn't mix well.... or so we think!!!

When push comes to shove Griffin still thinks about that night and figures the way to get it out of his mind is to seduce Pepper again and things will go back to "normal." Yeah not so much....

Let's just say that the sex in this book is SCORCHING hot and these two are made for each other. If they can get out of their own way that is. Oh and the other little problem is that Dex doesn't think anyone is good enough for his little sister and especially Griffin. But these two have a way of coming together that with their chemistry could power up all the lights in NYC...

The more I read of this book, the more I fell in love with Pepper and Griffin. There were also points in the book that I was talking to them and muttering some not nice things under my breath because of some stubbornness on both their parts. Can they overcome some of their obstacles? Will Pepper finally let Griffin in on how long she's crushed on him? Will Griffin do whatever it takes to be with Pepper even if it means ending a longstanding friendship? You'll get the answers to all these questions and a quirky sexy read with this book. I highly recommend this book and am so looking forward to the next one in this series

Jessica Prince has hit her sweet spot with her hilarious romantic comedies! Fire & Ice was sexy, feisty, and tons of fun with just the right amount of angst to give me all of those fantastic feels. Jessica Prince absolutely blew me away with Pepper and Griffin’s snarky banter and scorching chemistry. The dynamic that Jessica has created between them is highly addictive and I found myself flying though the pages, utterly enchanted by their story. Jessica Prince writes with a style all her own and I’ve quickly fallen in love with the intelligence and charm she pours into her words. Fire & Ice continues her streak of romantic comedy brilliance, her bold characters, fresh storylines, and entertaining dialogue effortlessly coming to life from the pages of this novel.

As much fun as I had with this story, I also always enjoy discovering the unexpected emotional depth that Jessica Prince delivers through her characters. Pepper and Griffin had a brief, but heated history that left things sour between them. As they got to know each other all over again, Jessica Prince revealed the hurt, anger, and insecurities that Pepper was left with after what happened between them and I found myself connecting with her. Pepper’s stubborn nature and occasional irrationality served to make the character feel more genuine – caught up in lust but cautiously pulling back at the smallest misstep. Griffin, on the other hand, was initially harder to relate to, although as he worked to prove himself, I found myself less caught up in his cocky attitude and deliciously dirty deeds and more mesmerized by his persistent pursuit of Pepper and surprising emotional complexity.

Fire & Ice is built on one of my absolute favorite tropes, the falling in love with your best friend’s sibling storyline. There is so much potential for emotional turmoil and delightfully awkward misunderstandings with this premise and Fire & Ice certainly did not disappoint. However, Jessica Prince is one step ahead, pouring in several additional elements that made the plot of this book so captivating. This story is told in alternating points of view and flashes back to the past in order to reveal Pepper and Griffin’s emotional history. Jessica Prince makes these transitions seamless, writing with a fluidity that maintained the pace of the novel perfectly. I adored meeting several new and unquestionably memorable secondary characters and I’m looking forward to getting to know them better as the series progresses. Overall, Fire & Ice was vibrant, sexy, and totally fierce – the kind of book you’ll want to re-read over and over again.

3.5 stars. Pretty hot on the sexy side of things, but I'd thought it was unimaginative that most of the hook-ups occurred after getting belligerently drunk (there were several arrests, I think to show Pepper's firey personality?? Hmm...). The plot could've used a major injection of some imagination and believability, but the chemistry was smokin'!!

Fire & Ice by Jessica Prince was such a wonderful read. This was my first book I've read by this author but I will be reading more!! Fire & Ice has a double meaning in this book, as you'll find out, one is its the name of our main female character's, Pepper O'Malley, store. Pepper is a fiery redhead who takes no crap especially from the man she loves to hate, Griffin Locklaine. In this whirlwind of a story that takes you back to Pepper as a young teenager who is in the middle of awkwardness and the first time her brother brings Griffin home from college with him, all the way to Pepper in her early 20's as a young beautiful woman. Griffin and Pepper now get along as well as Fire & Ice or oil and water you take your pick. When did Pepper start hating the man she thought she loved for a decade? Well a woman scorned and all you'll find out quickly! But what happens when Griffin, the man who swears off commitment, decides Pepper is his one and only and she fights tooth and nail? This was such a great read with all the feels you'd expect!

Pepper O'Malley has been "in love" with Griffin Locklaine since she was a scrawny teenager but of course she didn't exist to him. As she gets older and makes a living on her own in her own clothing store, Griffin starts to notice her and decides Pepper isn't getting away until they explore what this is. Pepper is a very opinionated, outspoken yet sweet young woman with a passion and love of those she cares about. Her brother is a cop and also Griffin's partner and best friend.

Griffin Locklaine is the man who has the reputation of taking a woman to bed once and never again. But when his "little friend" won't work for anyone except his best friend and partners little sister, he realizes he has a problem and only one way to fix it. He has a lot to make up for after breaking Pepper's heart 4 years ago and being a coward. Commitment was always a 4 letter word to Griffin but now he sees his future just a little different.

This was such a wonderful read and I can't wait to read the rest of this series as all the characters in this book were wonderful and you couldn't help but want to learn more about them all.

They keep getting better!

This is the third book in this connected series that I've read (started with Love Hate Relationship, then Wildflower). I absolutely love the world this author has created. The characters are fun, real and totally relatable. The stories are well drawn and realistic. The range of emotions the reader experiences while reading, from laughter to anger to sadness are skillfully wrought. I'm on to the next connected book and highly recommend this author and these two series.

**Blogger Note: I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.**

We are introduced to Pepper and Griffin in The Shattered Colors Series, Love Hate Relationship.

This story follows Pepper O'Malley and her relationship with Griffin Locklaine, NYPD officer, cousin to her best friends fiance, and best friend to her big brother, fellow NYPD officer Dex O'Malley.

Pepper meets Griffin at the young age of twelve, when Dex and Griffin are in their first year of college. There is where she discovers love. Throughout her teen years, she goes through many changes, as any teen does, and Griffin is there to witness it all.

At the age of twenty-one, Pepper is on her own, living in NYC, when she opens her own clothing store, Fire & Ice. The night of the grand-opening was a huge part of her life and where her journey with Griffin officially begins.

When I heard Jessica was writing Pepper's story, I was so excited. I am still excited for book two in this little spin-off series. I know you are probably wondering why I rated it only three stars. I have my reasons. I love Pepper, love the character, but I feel like something was missing. Throughout the whole book I felt that way. And as I was reading, it was predictable! I knew what was going to happen. I know, I need to be slapped! And I HATE saying this about Jessica Prince! I never have rated her books this low, but I didn't feel as connected to Pepper and Griffin as I have to past characters.

That is just my feelings with these two characters, if you haven't read Jessica Prince before, you might feel completely different. This book is funny, witty and Pepper is KICK-ASS! She is a feisty redhead who loves oatmeal creme pie! Don't mess with her oatmeal creme pies! I love that she is a female character not afraid to shove her face after a rough day. That is the act of a real woman!

Again, Jessica had me laughing! She writes the best romantic-comedy's! I look forward to the next Locklaine story!

WOW! What a great refreshingly funny story that deserves a 5 star review. ARC of Fire & Ice by Jessica Prince provided in exchange for an honest and spoiler free review.

This was such an awesome story that I was hooked from page one to the very last page read. It's not an overly emotional sad story but a funny one full of bantering.

This is about Pepper who fell head over heals in love with her brother Dex's best friend Griffin when she was a scrawny 12 year old. Throughout the years they came in contact a handful of times. 4 years ago Pepper was hurt to the point that now she says she hates him. They are always at each other's throat. He likes to get a rise out of her at every twist and turn. But now that Pepper is all grown up, Griffin can't seem to stay away from her. Griffin is determined to try to win her.

The banter between these 2 was so funny, that I couldn't stop chuckling. I never knew what was going to come out of their mouths. Relating to these characters in this story was done effortlessly. The author has done a wonderful job making them come to life. The storyline was creative, fun , entertaining and highly addictive. I love everything about this story.

A standalone told in dual POV that goes back in time a few chapters. It gives the readers a feel on how they started to be about. I read and reviewed Love Hate Relationship so I was able to jump into this one right away. That was also a very funny story by the way. It could be read by itself but for better enjoyment I like to read books in a series in order. I highly recommend this book. All of Jessica Prince's books are all worth your precious time and money.
