Gabriel Ortiz does not talk about his time with the FBI with his new undercover crew at motorheads. What has gone from protecting the Russian twin sisters has now turned into a whole different undercover case. This being the third book in the series it focuses on Gabe. Right from the start he is met with a reminder from his past in the forum of one Nikki Gage, FBI agent and daughter to the deputy director. They also were living together four years ago when a case went bad and Gabe left and eventually ended up in Miami. They do go over this in this story. Now though she has been sent to oversee an operation on an organization that is being run out of south beach and are using veterans who have PTSD, against their will. What she does not want to do is spend time alone with Gabe, but after their garage is destroyed they are now put together to work not only this case but also their past, and for Gabe hopefully a future. This story has a lot of action as far as shooting, car chases, some nice vintage muscle cars, and of course horizontal bop, with a little hood scene as well. Just what everyone wants from a good story that keeps moving along even after a mustang is totaled, or something has blown up. I also liked the banter between the two main characters especially Nikki thinking at some point that Gabe would actually have a plan. Overall a good book and you don’t need to read the other books to be caught up. I got this book from Netgalley.com Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

***ARC Provided by the Publisher and NetGalley***

This book was a little unbalanced for me. The relationship between Gabriel (Gabe) and Nikki was interesting, although it seemed like it was reliant on their past history, and I never completely believed the current relationship was actually in the present.

I also thought the suspense/action plot of the book got in the way of the relationship. The book was not as balanced as I wanted it to be and I felt that the shifts from a focus on their relationship to the action was off and it pulled me out of the story.

The book is a standalone and I did not feel I needed to read the other stories to be able to connect, rather I felt like I needed more from this one for it to be engaging.

I am not able to recommend this book.

ARC REVIEW

Book three of Sidney Bristol's Hot Rides series has us falling in love with Gabe and Nikki. This is a second chance love story, Nikki and Gabe originally meet years ago when she was assigned as his handler for his undercover work. They fell in love but when a case went wrong he left the FBI now he is working with the contracted undercover team of racers and gear heads at Classic Rides. Nikki wanted the job as temporary handler for the Classic Rides team she has a case and needs their help with it. The new case is finding a homegrown terrorist, a militant group using disabled veterans, manipulating them, blackmailing them into trying to overthrow the government and the mad man behind the whole thing wants to start by setting off bombs somewhere in a well populated place in the Miami/Dade county area. Nikki needs this case to go right so she can get her own little project green lighted by the higher ups.

The relationship between Nikki and Gabe almost seemed like it picked up where they left off, as soon as they talked about what went wrong and and where they both made mistakes they were in love again. The sexual tension between them was really good and it lead up to something really hot but it just was lacking in comparison to the suspense and action part of the story. The story starts out kind slow as they are trying to find leads but it all comes to a huge intense climatic conclusion.

Overall another great story and I can not wait for the next one.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the third book in the series - and I would recommend that you read them in order if you can, as the crew all appear in each story, although only one is the feature of each romance. It is good to catch up with the earlier couples, and watch as the next one falls!

Here Gabriel gets a second chance at love with his FBI ex-girlfriend. Nikki is most definitely the one that got away - or is she the one that he left behind along with his FBI days? As their story unfolds, we cannot help but wonder how two intelligent people who so clearly love each other, could let each other go. As they realise that they need to admit to the issues which plagued them before, they will have to work hard to build a surer foundation for the future.

In addition to the romance is a fast paced, complex and dastardly plot, which has the crew racing around and relying on local cop Matt to be in the right place at the right time. This team are still dealing with the fall out from the previous book as well as now dealing with a home grown terrorist threat. It was the perfect backdrop to the issues faced by Gabe and Nikki.

If you want a good substantial read, with plenty going on, and an intense second chance romance, then this will fit the bill.

Chase is book 3 in the Hot Rides series and can be read as a stand alone, BUT I've read all 3 and you want to read books 1 and 2 also!

Gabe and Nikki....makes me sigh! This book was amazing! Gabe left Nikki heartbroken and now she's working with him? That's the least of his worries!!

"For Gabriel, the FBI is just a painful memory. His new team of motorheads may work for the Feds undercover, but they’re nothing like the backstabbers and bureaucrats he left behind. A great story! There were lots of emotions going on, as well as it was hot!!

Gabe and Nikki in "Chase" were sexy, hot, fast and furious! I love the guys and gals at Classic Rides, and to see Gabe hook up with the love of his life again, as well as the agent in charge in Nikki, the reader is in for a wild ride. Nikki holds her own as well as holding onto Gabe and never lets go. The 3rd book in the series, most of the dialog is between the H and the h with the supporting cast in the background. My one criticism of this book is, although the task at hand is to stop a homegrown terrorist, the others in the group were too much on the sidelines and didn't feel as connected as they were in the first two books. That being said, I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more of the series. As said in many of the reviews, each book is a standalone and all 3 of them are full of fast rides, romance and suspense. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books (Zebra Shout) for gifting me "Chase" and asking for my honest opinion. This is mine. Recommended Read. 4 Stars!

As each new book comes the action, adventure, cases, and love stories get more intense. Gabriel hasn't felt whole in forever. The team is still trying to recover after their loss, and well they are going to have a new handler, a new case, and well Gabe's life is gonna be turned upside down a bit.

Nikki has always worked for the FBI, her father is in charge. But she doesn't use him to get her way. She knows this case will change her life, and she's just not sure in which way. Seeing Gabe again well it's going to go okay or it will be a disaster. She still loves him even though they were together years ago.

With new threats and attacks on the team. They are going to be scrambling. For Gabe and Nikki figuring out if they can work together is going to be a challenge especially with how they both feel. It was good and I enjoyed it alot.

Fast Cars and a whole lot of suspense!!!

If you are looking for a book that is about fast car chases, an undercover crew and a second change romance. This book is for you!

Gabriel and Nikki worked together years ago and became involved. That involvement got messy and the split up. Years later, they are forced to work together to uncover a homegrown terrorist mission. Sparks fly both good and bad when they see each other. It was fun to watch these two try and figure each other out again. They have both grown and changed but yet parts of them were still the same.

The main story line was very interesting to follow and you felt your heart rate go up during many portions of story. It was easy to follow what was going on and you wanted to finish the book to make sure they caught the bad guy.

This series is fast, hot, and dangerous. Gabriel is no longer with the FBI but he carries the scars, especially those his ex Nikki left. He likes being with his new team and not having the rules to bind him. Classic Rides is breached by non other than Nikki herself and she here to be their new handler. This story is centered around home grown terrorism that also ties into their original case. You don't get much of the full group in this book but Gabe and Nikki make up for that. Their chemistry is undeniable and I enjoyed this next installment of the series. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC that I received from NetGalley.

The was an adrenalin fueled ride through the Miami area involving undercover agents, the FBI, and some really bad gangsters. But they were no problem for the group at Custom Rides. I've really liked Gabriel from the start. He was always a little mysterious to me, but I could never see him with one of the girls in the garage. Well, that's good considering he ended up with a chance to get back in contact with an old friend and lover. I love this series and all the kick-ass agents, too.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

I love her style of writing .. things just flow ever so smoothly with her storylines. I was swooning over Gabe all through this story & Nikki was just the best with her way of handling gabe! Loved their chemistry unfolding during all the action centered around wilsons evil plans!! Thanks for delivering yet again a brilliantly planned & written HEA !!

Oh my, this book is full of so much suspense! When you add the Militia, what do you expect.
A second chance for Gabriel and Nikki means another chance for Gabriel to mess it up. Nikki is just as determined that they get it right.

Gabriel Ortiz is an ex FBI agent who now freelances with a group in Miami that has connections to the FBI. We met Aiden and Madison in book 1 and Emery and Roni in book two as well as the other members of the group. Aiden runs Classic Cars also which is a front for the operation and a passion for cars as well.
In this book enters front and center a blast from Gabe's past, Nikki Gage, Special Agent who is working out of DC and has been sent to Miami to meet with them; redirecting their 3 year long undercover operation to a lunatic who is a homegrown terrorist. Nikki and Gabe have some serious history. Neither really got over each other and initially things were tense between them. Until they weren't. Until they talked about what happened. Gabe expresses himself a little more freely than Nikki, Nikki is just a little stunted due to her upbringing. Her father is Deputy Director of the FBI. It does becomes clear these two love each other. Nikki's main problem with Gabe is his compulsion to protect her, in part because that's him, in part because he feels he "knows" better. There were a couple of times in this story Nikki makes some judgment calls and Gabe undermines her, making her angry. Rightly so, after she explains to him why she did what she did based on the info she had and he didn't. Because he hadn't bothered. Nonetheless, this was a great story. Just enough steam and tension between these two to make it all the more interesting and the suspense was great. The characters were well fleshed out and the continuity from the previous books flowed well. Although you don't have to read them to enjoy this one. There's enough suspense and unknowns to keep you turning the pages and you really are rooting for a HEA for these two... but do they get it? Or does Gabe once again drop the ball? Careers clash. Read the book and find out!
Great story Sidney, loved it.

This one pretty much had it all Action, Intrigue, Car Chases, Shoot Outs, Romance, Sizzling Chemistry...

The MCs - Gabe & Nikki - are definitely two people I'd love to hang out with!

Gabe is a former FBI agent currently working on a special task force in Miami. The task force is posing as a street crew (three years into the operation) and are currently considered the "new street bosses" due to some well placed assistance from a friend at the Miami-Dade PD. They are the crime kings who didn't do crime.

Gabe is experience in long-term, deep-cover missions. He is a HOT & Alpha Latin Male who's protective instincts kick into overdrive when it comes to his former lover & FBI Handler - Nikki.

Nikki - is a Supervisory Special Agent, having been raised in the FBI (her father is the Deputy Director) - she is all about procedure and following the rules. A Suit through and through. Her one deviation was Gabe and their romantic relationship four years ago. She has been sent to "control Gabriel, and through him this team he'd joined." Also, she was there to redirect their efforts to preventing a homegrown terrorist threat that had come to the attention of the FBI.

Only problem is they can't seem to fight their attraction and feelings for each other, in spite of the mayhem and chaos exploding around them. In between dodging bullets and car chases they are relighting the fire and steaming up the windows.

This story also had a strong supporting cast - each with their own story. Looking forward to learning more about all of them.

Gotta say this is my first trip the Hot Rides Crew and I'm definitely going to catch up on the past and hang on for the ride!

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy from Netgally and was not compensated in any way.

Chase is the third installment of the Hot Rides series by Sidney Bristol

Gabriel used to work with the FBI, but that all changed when things went south. His days with backstabbers and bureaucrats are in his past. Now, he hunts down drug dealers and smugglers in Miami with the help of his new crew. Where loyalty and trust never waver. He’s always ready for trouble, but he didn’t expect trouble to come in the form of his ex-partner, Nikki.

Nikki remembers the heartbreak that Gabriel left behind, but right now she must push away her past in order to deal with the new threat regarding terrorist recruiting military vets with fear and deception. Gabriel and his crew are the only ones that can help before everything goes into chaos.

Sidney Bristol series Hot Rides just keeps getting better and better. I have to say that Gabriel and Nikki’s are my two favorite character. The book starts right up where it left off in Shift (book 2) where Nikki comes into Gabriel’s garage and goes from there. Throughout the book, you not only have a good dose of action, but a lot of chemistry between the two leading characters. These two have history and no stone will be left unturned. When you start read their story, make sure you buckle in because it’s one hell of a ride!

I highly recommend!

Working undercover is something Gabriel Ortiz is very very good at whether directly in the employ of the FBI or as a civilian. His current team is located in Florida and their cover has to do with fast cars, street racing and a garage that caters to specialty cars. Into this group walks Nikki Gage who is not only an FBI agent but also the woman he loved and left behind four years before. They still have feelings for one another BUT they have a job to do and this time it is a big one. Can they work together to bring down a militia intent on wreaking havoc and if so, will they survive and thrive or will the outcome be less than both hope for.

This was a thrill a minute that kept me reading without pause. I loved Gabe and Nikki together and hoped they would get their chance at a HEA. This is the second book in the series that I have read and I am curious to find out what will happen with some of the other members of the team and hope they will have books of their own at some point in the future. I also wonder what the idea is that Nikki has run past her father, deputy director of the FBI, and how it will allow her and Gabe to work together in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC. This is my honest review.

Hot Fast Cars, Sparks are Flying and Love is in the air!

This is the VERY FIRST, but definitely NOT the last, book from Sidney Bristol that I have read. This tag line say's it all "The Classic Rides crew takes on top secret at top speed—and chases the same thrills between the sheets . . ."

This was an awesome, well though out story with an exciting plot. The characters are real and HOT, may I add! It's a story about Gabriel an ex-FBI agent who now works with a team doing undercover for the Feds. Nikki, his sexy ex-partner, shows up at his garage to ask for help in apprehending a homegrown terrorist group who is recruiting military vets.

It is an explosive story that will keep you on your toes and looking around every corner for more. Sparks are flying everywhere, including between Gabriel and Nikki. Can they work together without hurting each other again or will they find each other again amongst all the chaos?

THIS IS A MUST READ!!!!!!!!

I have voluntarily reviewed this book as a thank you for an advanced reader copy!

How has Sidney Bristol not been in my authors I like pile until now? My first introduction was Chase, which happens to be book 3 in the Hot Rides series. The fast, intense pace had me hooked by the second page- I couldn’t put it down. Bristol’s writing style is on par with Julie Ann Walker and Suzanne Brockmann- two of my favorite authors.

With a blend of high suspense, hot rods and even hotter romance, this novel kicks it into another gear. Four and a half stars for story (though that may change once I’ve read the rest of the series) and four stars for editing, this middle of a series book gets an impressive four stars from me. You know it’s good when before the last page, I’d already bought Drive and Shift- the first two stories from Classic Rides. There’s a really good chance this book will be in someone’s Christmas stocking.

Chase is the third book in the Classic Rides stories and can be read as a standalone but who would want to miss any of the other characters stories? Anyway this story finds FBI agent Nikki Gage at the garage and when Gabe sees her he loses all concentration because four years ago he walked away and has regretted it ever since. Nikki is there to get help trying to track down Bradley Wilson who has been plotting something but they have to stop him. Gabe has a fierce need to protect her even though that was part of why they broke up he didn't trust her enough to let her do her job but he has to in order to save their lives. It seem Wilson has been giving drugs to PSTD sufferers and telling them they are in a war against the people in this foreign country but they are still in the US. Quickly Gabe and Nikki resume their attraction but Gabe is slowly starting to trust Nikki's judgement and he is going to need to. This story is full of danger, sex and some awesome driving from beginning to end.

This book is another great installment in this series! I love these action packed love stories! Gabriel and Nikki get a second chance at the love they walked away from 4 years ago. Gabe and Nikki both found themselves at different points in their lives, but now that they were around each other again, they both realized that they still love the other person and can't live without them. Nikki finds Gabriel's team to take down a militant group looking to cause some trouble with bombs. This is an action packed story that will have you on the edge of your seat. I didn't want to put it down so I could see what was going to happen next. The added bonus of watching Nikki and Gabe reconnect was a nice one, too. I love second chance romance and when you add in action like this book has, it was one big adventure. Loved it! I continue to love this series and look forward to the next story in it.

Chase is book 3 of Ms Bristol’s series, Hot Rides. It is considered a stand alone . That said, I have to say that as someone who has not read the previous books of the series, I felt I lost some of the essence of the story and therefore, did not connect with the main characters, Nikki and Gabriel. Characters from the previous books have secondary roles, and if I knew them better, the story might have been more compelling.
Though I appreciate the suspense, action, second chances of love etc. I was still having a hard time with it 1/4 into my reading.
I am Latin and there were mistakes in the book. The author uses “Cariña” , a word that doesn’t exist, instead of “ cariño” . I suspect because it was referring to a female. In this case, it doesn’t apply. Also the word “joda” was used as a noun , when in fact it’s a verb. So for me , these were distractions that impeded me from enjoying the book.

I was gifted this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Gabriel used to work for the FBI, but had trouble following all the rules. Now he is an independent contractor with his Hot Rides crew chasing down drug dealers and smugglers. He trusts these people with his life, and they are a very tight knit group.

Nikki used to be Gabriel’s FBI handler and his lover. Her heart was broken when he left her. Now they must work together to chase down a new militia group going rogue.

I liked Roni’s character more in this book. It was great seeing her a little more personable. I also liked getting glimpses of Madison and Aiden and Tori and Emery.

This is the third book in this series. While it is an ok read, it is not my favorite. I didn’t connect to Gabriel and Nikki as much as previous pairs. Lots of action and suspense, some romance. I love the Hot Rides team. I can’t wait for Roni and Matt’s story!

Chase by Sidney Bristol is one of three books about hot cars and hot FBI agents. I had no idea when I read the book, so it can be read as a stand alone. I did however enjoy it well enough that I am going to look for the previous books.

Gabriel left the FBI to work for the government undercover in Miami. He works out of Classic Cars, a garage that works on old classic cars. The cars are souped up and fine! Gabriel and his team are working on clearing out the drug kings and sellers from the area. Until Nikki shows up again. They were a thing, but he left. Neither had forgotten the other, so the flames were HOT. Nikki however is FBI and is down in Miami looking for a home-grown terrorist before he blows the top off the town.

Chase by Sidney Bristol is a fun hot thriller to read. I enjoyed the plot twists and the thriller aspect mixed with the romance.

Gabriel is an ex FBI agent who got tired of all the rules and quit. He is now an independent contractor and works with a crew who he completely trusts. They hunt drug dealers and smugglers in Miami. Nikki, Gabes ex FBI handler and ex lover shows up in their shop. Their mission has changed. Nikki is their FBI contact and will be working with them. They are after a home grown terrorist organization that is recruiting military vets.

This is the 3rd book in the Hot Rides series. All the characters are here but it is mainly Gabe and Nikki's story. They have a past and incredible chemistry. There is a lot of action in this book. I would give this book 3 1/2 stars. The reason for the rating is the story didn't hold my interest all the way thru. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy for an honest review.

This is the third book in the HotRod Series by Sidney Bristol, and each one has been really good. There is a lot of action, car chases, and bad guys in this series, and in particular in this book to keep any reader engaged. This particular story involves, Gabriel Ortiz, who is no longer with the FBI, and is working undercover with the Classic Ride gang, when his former love, Nikki from the FBI arrives with a current problem, needing help from the Classic Ride crew. Needless to say, there is a romance, but what I really like about these books is that there is always a good involved plot along with the romance. I like action books and really prefer books that are a little more complicated the the usual romance. This book has it all.. a good fast engaging read. Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for allowing me to read this for an honest review.

This is the third book in the series by Sidney Bristol. This is Gabriel Ortiz's story. When he left the FBI, and I'm still not clear why he HAD to leave, he also left behind his lover and ex-partner, Nicky Gage, daughter of the FBI Director. Now Nicky is in Miami, temporarily replacing CJ, while the FBI searches for the leader of a homegrown terrorist group that recruits veterans with PTSD and convinces them that they are back in Iraq. While the group works to find the head of the group, Wilson, and stop the planned attacks, Gabe and Nicky realize that they are not over. This story is a very exciting ride, pun intended. While the whole group is on the action, the focus is on Gabe and Nicky. A nice addition to the series.

This one was excellent!! Lots of action, suspense and of course car chases!! Gabe Ortiz left the FBI disillusioned and a little bit lost. Then he found his crew of uniquely talented motorheads and working as a task force for the FBI is a great way to take care of his desire to make a difference without the restraints put on him by the bureau. The only thing missing is his undeniably sexy partner Nikki. That is until she shows up at their shop informing them that their task force will be working with her on her current case. The fight to take down a group of terrorists is a wild one and Gabe and Nikki working together again has the old flame flaring to life in no time. Will Gabe get burned again??

I highly recommend this one.

This is Book 3 in the "Hot Rides" Series and although it can be read as a standalone it is more enjoyable if you have read the previous stories and know more about the characters named in this story.

This time it is the story of Gabriel and Nikki. After breaking up three years ago, Gabriel leaves the FBI and Nikki, her girlfriend behind. Now she is in Miami and they will work together again. Of course, the feelings for each other are stronger than the problems and the chemistry between them is just amazing.

The romance goes along lots and lots of action, bad guys and plenty of suspense. The book is fast paced and complex. Nice read!
