Tiffany and Kory are settling into their happily-ever-after and enjoying matrimonial bliss, but they are missing the one thing that would make their family complete―a baby. After several months of trying to conceive, with no success, Tiffany shifts her focus on her career and her new role as CEO at TiMax. Eager and ready to move up the corporate ladder, Tiffany convinces her best friend, Rose, to move to L.A., offering her a new start. It’s something Rose simply can’t refuse, an opportunity not only for success, but also for love.

With a great family, friends, and career, Tiffany’s world is in perfect peace, until she runs into Tracy Sims. Beaten out of her position at KCLN for just showing up late, Tracy has vowed she’ll get back at Tiffany one way or another. Hell-bent on payback, scheming becomes Tracy’s middle name as she does everything within her power to destroy Tiffany. Not even the threat of being blacklisted detours her plans.

Meanwhile, Tressa is determined to win back the heart of the one man she lost. Just when she thinks she’s left her past addictions and L.A. queen lifestyle behind, her past returns with a vengeance!

Will Tracy finally get her revenge on Tiffany and make her pay for all of the misfortune she’s suffered, or will things blow up in her face? Will losing her father’s love again be at stake for Tressa, or will she finally live up to the promises she made to him?

Some demons are hard to defeat, and they don’t die easily. It’s a lesson Tressa and Tracy will soon learn, and they just might pay the ultimate price for it.

Why does this author's books ALWAYS have a female with mental health issues? Is that all of the drama she's able to come up with? Part 2 was a decent story...That poor Tiffany had to go through a lot to FINALLY get to her happily ever after...I did enjoy how her best friend Rose moved from Chicago to Los Angeles to re-start her life...so there was another storyline with Rose meeting Levi, which turned out to be a cute storyline and Rose finally finding her HEA....my only opposition with that storyline was removing Levi from the police department and having him work for Kory at a Jewelry store as a Jeweler....Why not find him a security firm to work for ...something still in the field he's interested in....The assistant Mya also got her a come up with a new job and a new man...this was a cute story.

I listened to the audio for both books in this series. I liked how there was a recap of book one to start off even though I already re listened to book one for a refresher. Still love Kory and Tiffany. I definitely had mixed emotions about Tressa's true feelings and wondered if she was still up to something. Tracy was very imbalanced, there was only one way her story could go. And omg I couldn't help but laugh at the sexual fetish that was introduced, lol team doing the most! Rose was another character I enjoyed as well as Mya and Asia, the good positive females outweighed the demonic ones which was nice. Not short on drama nonetheless, relatable, funny and well written. Definitely plan to read more of Ms. Black's work.

Awesome! Truly a great series. The union of love and true friendship. Loyalty and success, new beginnings and just loving life to the fullest "Doing You"! She did that. Tracy was given poetic justice. Rule of Life no one takes what's rightfully yours. Oh well I guess she will remember that! 😂😂😂

Great Book

Tracy was mad mad!!!...I would not have thought her desire for revenge would take her to the point of wanting to kill someone!!!...
My heart broke when Treesa overdosed!!!... I was really rooting for her and her sobriety & she was definitely on a road of showing that she was doing great!!!...I wish she had listened to her friend and protected her peace!!!...
Tiffany was such a great friend and boss!!!...She definitely looked out for her ppl and her bestfriend made me so proud of their relationship!!!...
This waz such an AWESOME book and glad I gave this author a chance!!!... Not disappointed at all!!!...

This series was great! Where do I begin!? First I will start with all of the beautiful, black love created in this story! I hope another series is made to follow the couples. I felt so sorry for Tressa! She really did try to be a better person. LESSON LEARNED....IT IS OKAY TO LEAVE PEOPLE BEHIND WHO CANNOT RESPECT YOUR GROWTH. And crazy ass Tracy! She got exactly what she deserved!

The biggest annoyance of them all was the switching a POV in the middle of a chapter in the middle of a conversation. Why did the editor not catch that?

The main plot was very cliche, although it kept me entertained. The subplots got too much attention and didn’t really tie into the main plot.

I’ll be kind and just say I think this author just ain’t for me.

Great book

I enjoyed the drama and the characters. I could feel Tressa’s pain. Would love to see what happened to Tressa’s “friend “.

This one was much better than part one. I think she rounded the story out very well and brought everything full circle.
I listened to the audio version and I know narrators may misread but I think the book probably has some serious editing issues. The POV seemed to change several times in certain chapters. Like Theresa would call her father Mr. Green etc.. It was weird.
Good read though.

The ending felt a bit rushed. All in all, a decent story.

Part 2 was better than the first but it still did not deliver. The title does not match the story at all and there were very childish parts in the book that didn't seem to fit the age brackets.

The author built upon the momentum in book one. The characters continued to evolve as did the storyline at a steady pace. The characters were developed and the storyline was well structured. Although, Tiffany was not a likeable characater, the supporting characters were a good mix of personatlities. Tressa's storyline evolved in a very oranic way that made sense as did Tracy's. The author did a great job of depicting how adult relationships manifest and grow. i wouldn't have been mad a spinoff featuring Maya and Darrell or the supporting cast. OR one with Steven reeling with his involvement in Tressa's storyline.
