“Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.” Human beings tend to create complex plans of action in order to achieve success. These plans have a chance of working out provided absolutely nothing goes wrong. As we already know, if something can go wrong it will go wrong. US Navy SEAL’s teach us that as soon as the bullets start flying complicated plans become 1000 times more complicated. They teach us to use visualization and strategy to reach the objective. This book breaks down the science of success with fundamentals and philosophies used by the most dangerous men on the planet. Success for US Navy SEALs is a product of self-discipline, mental strength, simplicity and teamwork. How the Most Dangerous Men on the Planet Succeed and Win! includes the *What makes SEALs Successful? *Without Purpose You are Just Spending Time *Be Someone Special Everyday *The Power of Visualization *Lead and Succeed *SEAL Self-Discipline *Elite Warrior Success Principles US Navy SEALs win because they understand the difference between having skill and having mental fortitude. There are many skilled people in the world who fall short of achieving true success. During SEAL training it is often the strongest athletes who were the first to quit. Although they had the physicality, they lacked the mental toughness to endure when it mattered most. They lacked the ability to adapt. You must be able to bridge the gap between having skill and persevering when it matters most to achieve success.
This book is simply a rehash of the author’s other two books, “Self-Discipline” and “Motivation.” Even the supposedly bonus sections, “10 Facts About Navy SEALs” and “The 30 Day Challenge,” are word-for-word identical between all three books. I’m giving this book three stars for the quality of the content, but just know that you don’t need to read this book if you read either of the other two. Of course, if you didn’t read either “Self-Discipline” or “Motivation” then feel free to read this one if you want, it honestly doesn’t make much of a difference which of the three you choose (personally, I felt “Motivation” is the worst of the three, so I would read this one or “Self-Discipline,” but I noticed in the comments of “Motivation” that other readers felt it was better than “Self-Discipline.” To each their own, I guess).
Awesome book with great advice! The perfect kick in the butt I needed to get busy making 2017 a successful year for me. Would have given the book 5 stars, but it needs more editing as I found several typos. I'm going to recommend this book to all of my family members.
