2012 was the year to fear. Hope was dead, a police state here.
When the Mayans predicted the apocalypse, they never would have imagined it to end like this. The world in shambles, very few people left alive and scientists scrambling to figure out how to save humanity.
The Government, controlled by the General, came to the rescue. They assembled ten thousand Units that would help improve the world and would help revive humanity. The General was in charge of the Units, deciding where they went and what they would do.
Built to look like humans, the Units fit in well with society. They had increased speed, increased intellect and increased endurance. They were subservient to the Government and to the General. They were designed to help humans and then to disappear.
In 2050, humanity is still at the brink of extinction. After thirty-seven years, nothing has changed. The Government is still in charge, and the General still runs the world with an iron fist. The Units follow his commands, and the lives of humans are diminishing.
Unit 1108 disagrees with the Government. She finds the way they treat not only people, but Units is deplorable.
Unit 5207 has always had qualms with the Government. He has always found their rule to be more of a dictatorship than anything else.

Stewart studied at the University of Houston and earned a masters degree in social work. Stewart started writing in third grade when her sister and she created the Grannies, two crazy grandmothers who got up to even crazier anecdotes. Their stories and imagined games lead to the creation of multiple stories. While Stewart now spends most of her time advocating for social justice, she still continues to come back to writing. Writing has always been her main love, and she hopes her books will bring smiles to her readers' faces.
