This is one of my favorite Bible passages and it's repeated several times in this amazing book. I absolutely loved reading this book. I really learned a lot about revivals in the past and how badly we need one now! We're living in a very dark world right now and all anyone has to do is read the headlines of the newspaper and you will agree.
I've attended a few revival meetings and they are wonderful!!! Seeing so many people together praying and worshiping God in one place is an amazing experience and to see God moving is even more amazing 🙏. If you you ever get a chance to go to one, please go! The sad thing is that there aren't many people praying for revival meetings these days. God is speaking to our hearts to do exactly what 2 Chronicles 7:14 is saying. Are you willing to do this? I am and have! 🙏. He is waiting. How long must we make Him wait?
This book mentions many of the people who have lead revival meetings in the past and saw many amazing things happen, such as healings, people being saved, many more returning to church! Some of these mentioned are D.L Moody who started Moody Bible Institute and they are the ones sending out the daily devotionals, that I read called Today In The Word. Also mentioned are Kathryn Kuhlman, Tommy Tenney, Bill Johnson and many more men and women of prayer.
" May this great outpouring be a catalyst that disciples nations and prepares the way for Messiah Jesus to make his triumphant return."

Amazing!
The Lord led me to read this book... I was not raised in a "Pentecostal" style church, and was taught (or at the least it was implied) that we should be suspicious of supernatural activity because it could be the devil trying to deceive us. So I've never really experienced any supernatural revival in my life or church experience. Now, I believe that God wants to do so much more through Christians than we've ever imagined in our restrained Christianity. This book reminds me that we need to be seeking MORE of God and the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives, families and churches! We need to be praying for and stewarding the POWERFUL Presence of the Holy Spirit, believing that the miracles of the early church can STILL happen, and that we need to be ASKING for the RAIN!

Didn't thrill me
Maybe I wanted more dissection of scripture; or historical detail on revival. The various contributors to each chapter made the book feel disjointed; no continuity for me to follow or knowledge to build on chapter to chapter.
Not a bad back, the authors are passionate about their subject matter, but I lost interest early on and struggled to finish it.

Powerful is the thought "Revival."
Beautiful and relaxing read reminding me of Gods glorious power that has fallen upon humanity time and time again; oh but this next move will be the best of them all. A worthy read touching upon revival history laced with the inspiration birthing a desire for more of God..

This has been right in front of me (us) for as long as I can remember. I don't know yet if I was kept away by fear, doubt, or lack of discernment. I am going to read this book again soon, and map out a plan for the way I live.

Phenomenal!
If I had the words and grasp of God’s word so well in hand, perhaps I could ad an AMEN AND AMEN! chapter to the end of this book. The compilation is perfect and flows so well I didn’t even remember that it was authored by so many...of course we KNOW who the real author is, but Larry did a great job, well done, good and faithful servant!

Author makes an appearance of something missing in believers church lives and then picks versus to support that. Can't understand these movements when they come to the conclusions, no other way but author 's interpretation and opinions. I do not read the Bible that way but never afraid to listen when Bible is opened for study.

What a fantastic book. God stirs my heart to pray, repent, and ask for more of Him. Taking time to sit at His feet will be worth every second spent at His feet so that He can do the work in my heart that only Him can do. I will be going through this book more so that I can actually be where He has called me to be. Great job in writing this book Larry.

This wonderful Book is an insightful, inspiring,instruction manual for Revival

I loved this book! Larry Sparks did a masterful job of compiling chapters from various other who have experienced various levels of revival outpouring. This book has stirred my passion for prayer and revival.

Good but Not Original
Each chapter is so good but it is a collection of chapters taken from different books (many I had already read). It was nice to be refreshed in them but this book is more of an annotated bibliography than stand alone work.

Loved this book. This work is compiled chapters from various authors and speakers detailing honoring and seeking Father, Son, Holy Spirit for revival today. Revival in our communities, work, churches and schools has happened in the past and it's just around the corner of we seek Him.

This book so well outlines what revival is and how to attain it, in our own lives, in our churches, and in our communities. This is a great book challenging us to deem bigger and dig deeper, but not out of striving and self-righteousness, rather out of intimacy with the Father. I highlighted MOST of the introduction and recommended it to so many friends.

Ask for the Rain is a collection of readings from authors who have written about the topic of revival and how it compares to God’s words inspiring us like rain falling from above. Larry Sparks is the narrator of this collection, and he begins by explaining the history of revivals and how they can be part of our lives today to bring us closer to God. He also narrates an introduction to each of the readings in this complilation. The readings are from people who wanted a deeper relationship with God and who used revival to impact their communities and even nations.
It’s so easy to think that religion is all about rules, when it’s really so much more than that. This collection of readings reminds us that God has already showered us with His love and that He wants a closer relationship with us every day. It’s a reminder that we can really make a difference in our communities by sharing God’s love through revivals to bring more people closer to God. Each of the narrations includes information with Bible verses so you can do more research on your own.

Amazingly inciteful and inspiring book. The author illustrates that we are indeed in the Latter Rain movement, the second Jesus movement, if you will. We are working on borrowed time!
