So you know that certain time of the month? Yup, you know the one. When your hair feels like grass and your skin’s a mess, you’re bloated and a chocolate bar could solve the world’s problems. But everyone around you is an annoying fuckhead and really, you just need a good cry to make you feel better, but at the end of it – you also need to know that happily-ever-afters actually exist and everything is good and pure in the world.

Well, I present to you Snared. Affirming your faith in love and life and that our pitiful existence in an infinite universe is actually worthwhile may be a lot of responsibility for one novel to shoulder, but I think it can handle it.

Beau’s life has been surrounded by turmoil. The family he knew, the people around him, and even his own mind is in state of constant storm and the only thing that brings him a moment’s peace is when he picks up his sticks and he gets to quiet the demons by beating on his drums. His life is weighed in the constant inner battle for balance to keep it all together in his head. But when April struts into his life everything changes. She opens a pandora’s box of emotions he has never allowed himself to even dream of feeling. But as she slowly starts to chip away at his walls, will she stick with him when they all come tumbling down?

What else can I say about this book? Other than that it made my eyes hurt? Tears were stinging at my eyes from the first few pages and it didn’t ease up until I reached the end. I cried because my heart was breaking for these characters and their raw emotions. I cried because Beau was such a pure and kind soul who suffered so much. I cried because April was so perfect for him. I cried because there were so many beautiful things said. I cried because I was happy and I fucking bawled my eyes out over that ending…

This book destroyed me. It put me back together again. It affirmed the existence of goodness in the world. It affirmed my faith in love. It affirmed that my pitiful existence in this infinite universe is worthwhile. Or maybe this book just caught me at exactly the right time of the month.

I absolutely recommend this beautiful book to anyone with access to a box of tissues and a carton of ice cream and someone to hug afterwards. You’ll need all three.

Okay so... this book was freaking phenomenal!! I'm not sure if I can pinpoint which part(s) I really connected with, but on a whole, I enjoyed every bit of this story. I didn't know what to expect when I went into this. I had just read about Johnny's whoring ways that ultimately stopped when he found love with Bex. Was Beau an undercover manwhore? What was lurking behind his onstage persona? I knew he had to have demons because that seems to be the trend of this series.

I knew that this story would be well-written and emotionally charged. But this story was so much more than that.

There's an Author Note that warns "Beau may wiggle his way into your heart and won't let go." Beau did more than wiggle. He stomped, trampled, invaded and conquered!!

Although this story touches on sensitive topics, such as mental illness, abuse, neglect, abandonment and suicide, it also covered finding self-worth, self-awareness, conquering doubts and fears, overcoming past trauma, and allowing the beauty of hope and love into your very soul.

Beau broke my heart repeatedly and then picked up the pieces and put it back together again. His name was his true essence. He was such a beautiful character to get to know. As the reader, we witness his distress, panic, dread and horror as his past influences his present. We also get to see him triumph over his anxieties and attempt and achieve his potential as a man of worth. A man worthy of a future and of love. April was also a pleasure to get to know. She was beautiful, selfless, generous, nurturing and kind. She provided an incredible counterbalance to Beau's darkness.

This is the second book I've read from LL Collins and I expect to make my way through her entire body of work (her oeuvre).

Be prepared to have your heart strings pulled and for the strong potential of tears!

Title: Snared
Series: Jaded Regret
Author: L.L. Collins
Release date: March 10, 2016
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

This is book two in the Jaded Regret series and my first by this author. This book was easily read without any confusion, so if you were thinking of reading it first, you're completely safe. The author did an excellent job introducing the full set of characters without dragging down the pace of the story while at the same time giving us enough backstory to feel comfortable. I'm a sucker for a good musician story, and it didn't hurt that the cover on this particular one was mighty fine. And that's all it took folks. I was sold on trying this new-to-me author.

This book was a little different than your average rock band book. It wasn't filled with sex, drugs and rock-and-roll and the typical conflicts you'd come to expect. The hero wasn't a detached manwhore intrigued by the unimpressed heroine. He was a man who was tortured (really, truly mentally tortured) by his unhealthy family life growing up. The things he saw, experienced, and the mental abuse inflicted by his mother caused severe damage.

Words could hurt. They could cut you like a knife, leaving you bleeding out on the floor. I'd been bleeding for too long.

Beau's father's suicide was the pivotal moment in his life. The point where his happy memories faded and he began a dark descent into depression and self-hatred. He's a man who feels as if he doesn't deserve happiness in life, or people who genuinely care about him. In his mind, he's toxic. A monster. When April, a sweet and honest social worker comes into his life, she sees past his quiet and intimidating demeanor. It's the fear of his past, his whole truth coming out that keep him from allowing her close.

She didn't see me. Not really. She saw what I wanted her to see, and she thought she liked me. But she didn't know the darkness inside me. What I was. What ran through my veins.

April was a great heroine. She was so sweet and understanding of Beau's issues. I really think that her history with foster children, her career and training really opened up true possibilites for her to find a way to Beau's heart and mind. He had been closed off for almost his entire life, but her sensitivity and giving heart made her the perfect partner for him. Yes, she may have been a bit naive over how deeply he was troubled and how she could "save him". But she accepted him, just as he was and was there to gently guide him to where he needed to be, when he was ready.

I do feel as if his recovery from his serious issues wasn't quite realistic. After he finally got to rock bottom and had to get help, I think the process would have been much more intense and prolonged. The whole book emphasized how deeply his mind was tricked into feeling as if he was worthless. So I wasn't quite sold on his recovery in the end. But that's me, probably just being picky. Overall, it was a nice message of learning to love yourself before you can love others. Of shedding your past and the prison that others put you in, and allowing yourself happiness.

Overall Opinion: This book tacked some heavy and tough subjects -- mental health and foster care. It wasn't the type of romance that gives you a toothache, but it was sweet in its own way. I rooted for this couple, and I felt that they had a good connection. Plus! We got a shy non-manwhore rock star! He had only been with one woman close to 10 years prior to the story! He was intimidated by the h's beauty, and I found that really cute and endearing. Overall, I liked the story.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is April and Beau's story. Beau is a drummer for a famous rock band that has been suffering from severe depression since he was a child. The band gets asked to play at a benefit, and this is where he meets April. He has minimal experience with women and wants to remain closed off due to his mental health status, but there is something about April that he cannot forget. April is instantly intruiged by him and tries to get him to open up to her. They dance around things for a little bit, but eventually start a relationship and fall in love. There are some big issues with Beau's mental health and life in general, but they work through them and get their HEA.

POV: This alternated between April and Beau's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed, and I felt like it flowed well.

Instalove: No. It was quick, but I felt like it took a sufficient amount of time for those stronger feelings to develop.

H rating: 4 stars. Beau. He was pretty damaged, but he had a good heart and really wanted love in his life.

h rating: 5 stars. April. She was a pretty perfect woman. She loved the H unconditionally, and stepped up to the plate when other things got thrown at her.

Sadness level: Low/moderate. This covers some heavy subjects, but I never needed tissues.

Heat level: Moderate. They had some good chemistry and hot scenes.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

Safe sex: Yes. Mentions of std status and birth control

OW/OM drama: Not at all!

Sex scene with OW or OM: Yes

Cheating: No

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had some good closure with a cute epilogue and a HEA ending.

How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.

Safety: Safe with exception

Often you read in a book blurb “fans of xxx will love this book” and sometimes when reading those stories I wonder who came up with those comparisons.

So I hesitate a little to give such a recommendation myself – but in certain cases like this one I feel the need to give a comparison myself so if you liked “Grayson” by Lisa Eugene or “Real” by Katy Evans - I am quite confident that you will love this book.

The plotlines might not be comparable but the intensity of the story is at a similar level. I loved how the author described the struggle that was going on in Beau’s mind.

To me as a reader it felt like I could understand what was happening. Which I think is not an easy feature when you are lucky to say that you have no experience at all with the problems that Beau is going through.

I could relate to April when she first came near to Beau. He was described with such an intensity that at times I thought I could actually see him in front of me when I closed my eyes.

April had a great natural intuition on how to handle Beau – long before she even knew what was really going on. I loved how the author described her thoughts.

And my heart broke at that bridge – I was actually envisioning that scene in front of me and it gutted me. I had to stop reading with tears in my eyes.

This book is in my top reads of the year 2016 list for sure …

Snared (Jaded Regret Series Book #2)
By LL Collins
5 Stars

I knew going into this one, it was going to be a difficult story. Boy what a rollercoaster ride it was!

Beau the drummer for Jaded Regret has had a pretty crappy life. The only thing that brings him pure happiness is his drums. Whether the real drums or the drums he plays on his legs to tune out the voices.

Having been told over and over again that he is just like his father, he is worthless, he will amount to nothing, you get it… you believe it…. You live it…. You don’t let anyone in that will try to ‘figure’ you out.

When April organizes a charity function her first request is to have Jaded Regret play. Growing up with a silver spoon, April is privileged, she has been loved by BOTH of her parents… But, she is real. She is caring, loving and up for the challenge!

Beau and April don’t have a smooth road ahead of them, that’s for sure. What they have though is each other! Will that be enough to tame the dragon wanting to come out in Beau though? Will the road blocks that keep tormenting these two cause them to go on living apart?

Great story! Great emotional ride!!!

“‘You are so beautiful.’ I took her lips before she could respond She hooked one of her legs around my backside and pushed me closer to her, using one hand to stroke my manhood and the other to grip the back of my neck as we kissed.”

5 snare me stars!! Beau, Beau, Beau…...that’s all you need to know!

Beau has never had an easy life. And the dark cloud that surrounds him is only lightened when he’s playing the drums. That’s the only way he can cope, because he refuses to talk to anyone. April on the other hand has had a life that Beau dreamed of. She was wealthy, loved and cherished. Her only look at the other side is her job with foster kids. When she meets Beau, she realizes it may be a challenge to get him to open up to her. These opposites are perfect for each other, but can they make it?

I loved this book! Beau is so broken and as a reader, all I wanted to do was put him back together. And April, ugh, I loved her so much. She’s such an inspirational leading lady, I don’t think there’s enough words to describe her. Great book, great characters, great author!

Gosh I loved this story. It's powerful, intense and one that tackles tough subject matter. I immediately felt a connection to Beau and wanted to protect him. Often times I read "emotional" books which makes me sad or feel empathy toward the characters, but rarely do they cause me to tear up or shed a tear, which I did in this story. Beau's character is one that I'm drawn too. He didn't have a good childhood - it was quite traumatic actually. He's the troubled quiet one, with such a tortured soul. I seriously just wanted to reach in and give him a hug.

There is no doubt this story will have you grabbing the tissues. You will experience Beau's fears, his lows and the demons that he lives with everyday. But he's surrounded by those who love and am willing to fight for and with him. The story takes you on his emotional journey which at times seems so dark. The light for Beau comes in the form of April Knight. April is that beacon of hope that Beau needs. She's someone who makes him WANT - want for things he's never imagined. When she's around those insecurities and voices are muted. Although the road to happiness or actually just being normal is rough, I loved every minute of it.

This book deals with mental illness and it puts the reader in Beau's head. You are there on that rollercoaster ride of emotions. It's sad and intense, but also so very hopeful and inspiring. I loved the storyline and how things played out. April's strength and kind soul was amazing! This story just puts you in a mood. Through all the bad that can happen in one's world, there's always hope and love.

This is the second Jaded Regret book and although it can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend that you read the first book, Sentenced, first as you don't want to miss out on Johnny and Bex's story.

Anyway this is Beau and April's story and it was absolutely fantastic! Right from the Prologue, reading about the start in life that Beau had - I was in tears. My heart broke for that little boy. Now he's all grown up and still terrorised by memories of his past, the only thing that seems to help him is playing drums with his rock band, Jaded Regret.

April is a social worker who works with foster children and asked Jaded Regret to perform at a fund raiser for the new children's hospital that her dad was building. She wanted to raise awareness about the number of children in foster care, and knowing about Bex's past and the involvement she has had with foster kids herself, she hoped that they would help.

This was such an amazing, emotional read, I honestly didn't want it to end. I really hope there is more to this series. I would love to read Natalie's story, and Tanner's too!

Received in exchange for a honest review.

Oh my gosh Beau. He will tug at you heart so very much. He is amazing. You will feel so much for him. He is so vulnerable, scared, lonely, quiet, kind and wonderful. His mother and what she did to him was terrible. He saw his dad’s lifeless body and all she could do was emotionally abuse him. Hurt him and break him. Make him think he was worthless and a piece of trash. that he didn’t deserve to be in existence. He became just what she wanted. A scared, young man who didn’t know how to deal. He bottled everything up and became alone. His strength was there and you saw it in the way he controlled himself, how he played and kept people from seeing him and what was happening on the inside. this poor boy had a difficult childhood due to his mom and her horrible ways, ended up believing all she said about him and stayed in his mind throughout early adulthood. He became more and lost himself in music. That is until April.

April was this sweet caring girl who helped children in the system. Children like what Beau and his sister were. Her mom was in the system and her story is what drives April. That and seeing the children and what they are going through. She brings Beau’s band to a charity to help raise money and when the two met all reason went out the window for both of them. She is attracted to him and he her but he is afraid. He doesn’t feel he deserves her and felt when she would find out about his past and him she would run. So reluctantly they forged a bond. More fate intervened and they got together slowly. What helped this was a little boy in the system that reminded Beau of himself at his age and he was able to help him. He got close to him and understood him.

Slowly a sweet, beautiful honest relationship grew between April and Beau. He opened up to her and she helped give him peace. His mind began to calm and he started to feel peace and happy. He learned to cope more and started to feel comfortable in his own skin. When he got off tour he and april brought their relationship to a new level but a surprise hit his world. It turned him upside down and breaks him. He becomes fragile and does something in the moment that changed things for everyone. His bandmates become closer to him and show him they are always there for him and are his family. His sister was there and helped him to heal but also see what was in front of him with April. He has a long journey and needs help from the professionals but he does climb out of the darkness except in this climb he begins to believe that April would be better off without him in his world. He now isn’t alone but has a child and is dealing with his mental breaks. He is fighting to become better and find peace. Watching him fight to come back from the depths of hell he is in is heartbreaking and sad. You can’t help but root for him and hope that his struggle and fight brings him to a better happier healthier place. You feel all his pain and all that he is dealing with due to the way LL Collins has used the words and descriptions to bring you into his world and keep you there in his mind and feelings. So amazing and incredible but also perfect because you go through this journey with him and through him and see him become stronger and more whole as he does.

This is a fork in the road for April because she didn’t know what to do. She wasn’t sure if she was strong enough to deal with Beau’s issues and if she could be enough for him. It was her father and mother who helped her realize that love is what keeps you strong and that if she loved him all that was happening didn’t matter but being there for him and loving him with encouragement, patience and giving him her strength was what was. This is a special and amazing relationship.

No matter how much Beau tried to push her away she stayed. In the end it was her dad that got through to Beau and gave him the tools he needed to take a chance with love. He was scared, vulnerable and in a strange unknown place. He was outside his box and his life was no longer able to be put in control. Life was now full of unknowns and he was taking a chance to live and be happy. To take each day as they come. When he made this choice life became more easy and we see a beautiful relationship between April and Beau and Beau and his family his new family blossom.

LL Collins tackles a serious topic of abuse and mental illness with grace and realism. She goes head on and doesn’t hide it with soft platitudes. We see the good, bad and ugly with realism, grace and truth. The topic is never left in the background but always seen and we see how it affects the person involved and those around them. We see how it is dealt with and how the person struggles. what is wonderful is that it isn’t treated in this book like it was ugly but as a part of life. We aren’t seeing Beau as beneath anyone but someone in pain and trying to deal. We see just what someone goes through and how they try to deal. What they feel and see and how they struggle. The writing intertwines this serious topic into the story seamlessly and makes it part of what the plot is. A beautiful real book about a man struggling with mental illness and how he deals with it, falls in love and has his world turned upside down. A book that is real emotional and raw and doesn’t hurt the topic of seriousness but bring it to the forefront have have us see it with fresh eyes that give us understanding and hope. Hope for Beau and those in his situation. A magnificently written beautiful fast paced love story with the real life struggles in it that touch your heart and soul as you fall in love with Beau and all the emotions he evokes in you as you root him on and watch with intrigue and seriousness his struggle and how he finds himself and love.

Ok Ok.. First and foremost… L.L. Collins can I hug you and kick you all at the same time… lmao I mean really half the time I am reading I am crying and taking my glasses on and off because I can’t see the words! I know I am a softy but you pulled at every one of my heart strings. (No I didn’t cry throughout it’s not that kind of book) That being said let’s get to the review shall we.

I did not read book 1 and I don’t even feel like I missed out. I feel like I NEED TO GET THAT BOOK ASAP. But I totally feel like this book can be read as is without missing anything vital at all.
Beau Oh Beau how I love thy, if you ask me right now who your favorite book boyfriend is I would tell you Beau Anderson and hey he even beat out Tatum Jackson, just saying.. He is my number one but nope Beau took that place in my heart.
Not only is Beau a drummer for Jaded Regret he is a brother, a friend and a lover even if he can’t see that last one.

Beau is dealing with mental health issues throughout the book and that does not make him weak even if he thinks this. It makes him strong and empathic and compassionate. I love how none of his family treat him any differently, they accept him as is. I think this helps in the long run as the story progresses he needs that family strength behind him to fight his battle with himself.

Oh April how I love her she is kick ass in a subtle kind of way. She has quiet strength; I don’t think Beau really understood how strong she was until she had to show him.

I love how she just knows him, when he is good and when he needs that little bit of understanding.
This book is heavy in the emotional sense only because we are dealing with huge mental and emotional matters. I can’t stress enough of how much I loved this book maybe because I know a little something about depression and how it can not only affect you but the ones around you.
I don’t want this to be long winded because this story totally speaks for itself but watching these to find each other and find themselves is powerful and moving.

Here are some of my most favorite quotes.

“I don’t know you and you don’t know me. But I like you.” April said this I totally swooned for a girl!

“Beau, you aren’t a disease. No one is perfect. Not a single damn person. Everyone deserves someone to look at them like they are their whole world. The reason I’m telling you this is because I didn’t think I deserved it, either. I was wrong. You’re wrong, too.” Oh Johnny I freaking <3 you

“I see it, right now. The doubt is taking you over. Don’t doubt that I want to know all of you. I do. The good, the bad, and the in-between.” I swear April I have a girl crush, no joke.

One of my favorite lines by Beau here is half of it so I don’t give away anything

“Not as beautiful as you. And I mean every word. Now, will you do me the honor of joining me as…..”
Also can I just say Beau’s sister Natalie is the bomb I freaking <3 her.. She totally needs her own book just saying.. *Wink Wink*

L.L. Collins has written another heartfelt and poignant journey of love, loss, forgiveness, and self-discovery with Snared. This novel took me by surprise, capturing my heart from the very beginning and taking me on a sweet, sexy, and absolutely unforgettable adventure. Beau and April’s story is raw, gut wrenching, and deeply moving. L.L. Collins put my heart through the wringer, inspiring with this beautifully tragic tale a hurricane of emotions that swept through me and left me emotionally spent. The writing is smart, witty, polished, and vibrant, bringing to life the intriguingly complex characters and expertly devised storyline.

L.L. Collins has a true talent for writing characters that are exquisitely flawed. Creating personalities that society would deem as damaged, L.L. Collins gives these broken souls a voice, the impact of which is always staggering. She made connecting to Beau and April absolutely effortless and her words drew out powerful emotions that ensured my total investment in their happily ever after. L.L. Collins paints a heart-wrenching picture of emotional turmoil and internal struggle that left me reeling as I experienced Beau and April’s story. The relationship between these two developed in a natural and genuine way. Every emotion, vulnerability, insecurity, and professed secret came from a truthful place, somewhere the reader could easily relate to.

Snared was the perfect balance of drama, humor, steam, and heartfelt emotion. I laughed, cried, blushed, and fell in love over and over again during the course of this novel. The solid character development, significant emotional depth, and fluid storytelling made Snared nothing short of fantastic. L.L. Collins took this story in directions I never could have predicted and with each unexpected turn of events I found myself more and more enthralled. I’m blown away by the grace and understanding with which L.L. highlights her characters’ imperfections, inadequacies, and mistakes. Her thoughtful prose delivers a sense of genuine acceptance that reaches from the pages and into the hearts of her readers. Snared is a breathtaking journey you don’t want to miss and a true testament to L.L. Collins’ incredible talent as an author.

Snared by L.L. Collins is an intense and emotionally packed story of love, accepting yourself, and moving on from the horrible things of your past.

Beau Anderson is the famous drummer of Jaded Regret, and has had a very rough upbringing. The prologue in this book killed me, I knew it was going to be one crazy ride for Beau, and I think I fell in love with him during the first few sentences of this book. He keeps to himself, only really lets his band mates (his family) in, and doesn’t sleep around. So when April shows up in his life and shows interest in him, and he is intrigued by her, he fights it with everything he has.

April Knight is an amazingly strong and compassionate character. I adored her!! Her attitude in life, her compassion, her love, her strength, everything about April is something that a strong female lead should exude, and she needed to be strong if she wanted any chance of Beau letting her in.

Beau and April’s story isn’t easy. It’s actually extremely difficult. Every time April feels as if she’s made progress with Beau, something happens and he pulls inside of himself again. Beau has a hard time seeing that he can be loved, so April has to fight for it every step of the way. At times it was heartbreaking seeing Beaus thoughts and how he thought of himself. If only he could see himself through his band mates, sister, and April’s eyes, he would see he was so much more than just a drummer.

Snared deals with some pretty dark issues and at times was difficult to read, even though there was a HEA in this book. I wanted to cry, scream, and hug Beau multiple times during this book. He is worthy of everything he has and the people who love him, but getting him to the point of seeing that was difficult and at times downright awful to read/watch play out.

I adore L.L. Collins’s books and Snared is another one to add to the list of amazing books she’s written. I loved that we got to see more of Bex and Johnny from Sentenced, and I really hope we will get more stories from members of the band as well as Natalie. If you are looking for a new twist on contemporary romance, I highly suggest picking up Snared today and falling in love with Beau and April today!

OMG! I've got so many amazing words I could say about this book and at this present moment my mind has gone blank....

Wow!! Where to start....First of all....Beau Anderson. That man had me from the first page...the quiet, nervous, damaged, broken drummer of Jaded Regret. I felt like squeezing him so hard so he could forget his troubles and his issues.
One fact I love about this book, he's not the egotistical manwhore rock star..he's understated but he's so loving too...

Depression. An illness that no one really talks about. An illness no one really understands, but only because people don't take the time to understand it.

Beau Anderson has this illness, after witnessing his dad with the same illness and his mom turning on him, this poor, sweet, man, who along with his Natalie ended up in the foster system bouncing from group home to group home, never having any stability in his life! At a charity event for foster kids, he meets April Knight and completely tilts his world on another axis, but he doesn't know how to deal with these new feelings, so, he does what Beau does best, pushes her out. Until he can't push her out no more.

I LOVED this book, I was astounded by all the characters in this book. I've cried, I've smiled, I've swooned, LL Collins completely broke my heart at one point....this book is an emotionally charged, heartbreaking but beautiful story of depression, love, trust and honesty!
I'll be honest I didn't know this was book 2 but this author writes so well I didn't feel like I'd missed any pieces of the puzzle. Book 1 was Bex and Johnnys book but I really hope she writes Natalies book, that girl needs a HEA. This book also has the sweetest epilogue EVER. Beau and April were so easy to connect with, I think I have the biggest girl crush on her...lol

This is a MUST READ and it completely took my breath away!!

5 MASSIVE STARS!!!!

LL'S BEST BOOK YET!! I've been trying to write my review for this since I finished this book for the second time last night but I really needed to have some time to let it all sink in. It's that good. It is so good, that it will leave you with one of the biggest BOOK HANGOVERS you've ever had.

We meet Beau Anderson in SENTENCED and know he's the drummer for the hottest band JADED REGRET. He's quiet and stands in the background not really liking all the attention. He's a bit of a mystery to us.

April Knight is one of the most kind, caring and passionate heroines I've ever read. She's devoted to helping others and always putting them first.

Once these two characters meet both of their worlds are on full tilt. Beau is submerged into his own mind and April is there for him when he is at his lowest. Beau says he's not good enough for her but April won't let that stop her from getting what she wants.

There are many events that happen and your heart will ache and you will cry and scream. You will want to throw your device but after the darkest storm is over a beautiful world will exist.

This is my favorite book of LL's to date and Beau Anderson has become my favorite Book Boyfriend of ALL TIME.

This is a must read for any romance reader. Highly recommended!! Do it read it, you will NOT be let down.

I think Beau is my favorite now!

It took me couple days to get my head together for this review without giving alot away. All I can say is that LL Collins knocked it out of the park with this one!!

We meet Beau, who is the drummer for Jaded Regret. He's quiet compared to the rest of the band. ( love Johnny by the way). We learn early in the book the events that forever changed his life. My heart broke for him and his sister Natalie, especially him, since he was only 5 years old. He never fully recovered and his mother was one of the worse parents I have ever seen.

April was amazing! What strong female lead. She and Beau meet they are drawn to eachother. Of course, he thinks he isn't good enough and tries to keep his distance. April can see that there is something about Beau that she can't resist. It's like she can see him and understand his pain. She was amazing with him. Not to give away the story, but there was a part that my heart was literally ripped to shreds for what the both of them experienced. The fact that she didn't give up on him shows the kind of person she is. We also met a little boy, Robbie.<3 You'll understand as you get into the story.

I can rave about this book from beginning to end, but you need to experience it for yourself. Yes there are some situations and topics you have be comfortable with and I felt the author did an amazing job with it. This is without a doubt one of my top reads this year!!

Every book I read of author LL Collins, I say, "This is my fav book of hers!" Well........it's true!! Each book gets better & better! When I say this book is awesome, it's beyond anything I expected!! I knew Beau had a story from Sentenced but wow!!

Beau is an amazing character! He's quiet, reserved, broken more than I've ever seen, strong, loving & very caring! My heart hurt for most of the book for him! I just wanted to jump in the book & hug him & his sister!

April is the complete opposite of Beau! She's an awesome leading lady! She helped & pushed Beau to be better!

Then is happened! The part of the book that I lost it in! You have to read it but wow!! So raw & real! Thinking about it makes me tear up! I just want to help him!

The author did a fantastic job with these sensitive subjects! Mental illness is no joke & she did a great job showcasing it & shedding the right amount of light of the subject! Was it easy to read certain parts? Hell no, but it was REAL! It was RAW! It was phenomenal!

I absolutely loved this book!! I love the end!! Beau & April are amazing but Robbie stole the show for me!! I fell in love with the broken little boy from the start!! I can't wait to read more of the Jaded Regret crew!

To say that this story took me on an emotional rollercoaster would be an understatement.

I loved everything about it… the troubled Hero who doesn’t know how to show affection, the loving social worker who doesn’t know how to leave someone without help, and the wonderful friends who try hard to keep the Hero involved. The story had some suspense, tight friendships, funny moments, passion, but most of all, it had heart.

Beau was such an amazing character, with his doubts and self-deprecating attitude that didn’t allow anyone to get close to him. Yet, when that one person who is meant to break down his walls comes along, all bets are off and the story takes flight.

I laughed at some of the antics, especially when the members of Jaded Regret, Beau’s partners, were on the scene. I cried when I saw how much April wanted to be there for him and take care of him. And I especially cried when a secret is revealed that completely breaks Beau apart.

This story once again proved why LL Collins is referred to “Leaky Lids” by some of us…because her storytelling can capture you and tear you apart, smashing your heart before putting it back together again.

I loved Beau and April!

FOUR Stars- I received an ARC for an honest review of Snared: A Jaded Regret Novel (Jaded Regret #2) by L.L. Collins

Snared did just that, it captured my full attention from the very first page. Learning about Beau's past, his siblings and the things he currently struggles with. April's life is the exact opposite of Beau's life, she has two wonderful loving parents, comes from a wealthy home and is independent, confident and has felt love her entire life. April's mother however has lived a similar hell to Beau's life and after being saved by April's father, April is called to be a social worker and help foster children.

April is educated and does research on her favorite band, once learning they too support foster children and those deemed with no future she and her father contact the band to assist in a fund raiser. Beau is immediately attracted to April but has always kept himself closed off because of his past with his friend Robyn. April is attracted to Beau and is determined to be in his life. This story has excitement and caused tears, it has real struggles and touches on mental disturbances. Beau and April thankfully end with a HEA, and it's a beautiful story.

Beau....you gentle soul, you ripped me apart and cleansed my soul. This complicated man has a heart of gold and just doesn't see the worth he is. April may be the girl that sees the real him through everything, to heal him and pull him back from the brink.
Getting into the nitty gritty with this character after meeting him in Sentenced has been such a crazy and exhilarating experience. I could not put this book down right from the start.
Of course we get to catch up with the members of Jaded Regret that we met before and see where they are now. Bex and Johnny are such a crowd pleaser and play such a special part in this story.
Life may feel like it will break us sometimes, but only if we let it. Beau has to learn the power of not hearing the past in his head and keep looking ahead. Strength when you need it and who can bring it may never ever be expected. Don't close your heart or mind to something you never thought you could have or deserved.
I absolutely recommend this amazing read!
Hands down 5 high sparkling stars!

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review

First let me say this girl is a huge fan of L.L. Collins and if she writes it I will read it. Snared is the second in the Jaded Regret series but is a standalone but to get the full effect I do encourage you to read Sentenced the first book in the series, its also a five star, must read and was in my top 5 of 2015. Snared is Beau and Aprils story and what a story it is.....Beau is broken, he is just living to live but not really living at all. He is so broken he thinks he can't be fixed, this story will make you think, make you cry but most of all cheer for April who breaks down all of Beau's walls and helps him know and feel what a wonderful man he really is. Snared had me at the start and never let go and in my opinion its Ms. Collins best work because the story was not just a story it made you feel everything Beau and April felt and to me that is more than just story telling.

I was "snared" from the first paragraph!!! April and Beau were just beyond amazing!!! April has the heart of a queen, majestic and humble. Beau thinks he doesn't deserve love or someone in his life who might love him. I just love when books are so much more than the sex scenes....and this book was sooooooo that!!!! Don't get me wrong, the sex scenes were steamy and beyond HAWT, but this book had so much more to offer as well!!

I was devastated in the first chapter, cured in the second chapter, ripped apart in the third chapter...you get the idea...WARNING...do NOT read this in public or while on a machine designed to exercise on, it will NOT end well!!!!!

Another masterpiece by LL Collins!! READ THIS BOOK!!!

There was so much that I loved about Snared. I fell so hard for Beau. He is so beautifully broken when he first meets April who rocks his world. Beau knows what it is like to be misunderstood and because of his issues has never let anyone other than his sister and bandmates close. But there is something about April that he can't resist. He wants her in his life, but resists because he doesn't feel deserving of her. April is such a fantastic match for him. She understands his struggle and I loved that she was all in from the moment she meets him. Their story is sweet and sexy and heartbreaking and I loved every bit of it.

I give Snared 5 hearts!

4,5 stars!

Snared was an incredible and heartbreaking journey into the mind of a mentally unbalanced person. It portrays the fragility of the main character's - Beau Oliver Anderson - psyche.
I cried a lot while reading this book but not all of those tears were sad ones. And while there are some heavy subjects being dealt with in this book, it IS a love story so there's sweet and steamy in between the tough times.
I liked it a lot and would recommend it to anyone who likes to read emotional rollercoaster tales about hot, tattooed and non-whorish rockstars.

I loved Snared! I want a Beau of my own. The insta-love between Beau and April was great to read, it was believable. They both acted like anyone would when you have that instant attraction to someone. They didn't drop everything and everyone to be with their new love, no they continued to go about life while trying to figure out what the h*ll happened to them. The family that Beau, April, and Robbie were able to make, was beautiful, and it was only made better with the small glimpse into their future in the epilogue. Now we need to see Nat get her happily ever after.

## Snared (Jaded Regret #2): A Beautiful Dance Between Darkness and Hope

Snared (Jaded Regret #2) by L.L. Collins delivers a captivating journey into the depths of human struggle and resilience. I was drawn to the promise of an angsty read with mature characters, and this book did not disappoint. Beau, the central protagonist, is a complex and compelling figure. His struggle with past trauma and mental health issues broke my heart, all while revealing the strong man beneath. The author's portrayal is raw and honest, making you deeply empathize with Beau's internal battles. While I didn't experience full-blown sobs (which has happened with other emotionally charged stories), the narrative drew out genuine tears and a constant undercurrent of empathy for both Beau and the leading lady.

The beauty of Snared lies in its ability to navigate darkness without succumbing to it. Despite the angst, there's a flicker of hope that grows throughout the story. The romance that unfolds is both passionate and tender, offering a glimmer of light amidst the emotional turmoil. While the FMC's unwavering optimism towards Beau, a man with obvious emotional baggage, could be seen as slightly unrealistic, it felt more like genuine care than instalove. It's a testament to the author's skill that she can create a believable connection that blossoms despite the challenges.

The plot itself is engaging, with a twist that, while predictable upon reflection, is still impactful within the narrative. It unfolds in a way that keeps the reader invested, and the reveal itself feels satisfying rather than anticlimactic. There's also a touch of the "too good to be true" syndrome with Beau – his inner strength despite his struggles feels almost idealized. However, the author manages to balance this by showcasing his vulnerabilities, making him a well-rounded character who remains endearing despite his near-perfection.

Overall, Snared is a highly recommended read for those who enjoy angsty romances with well-developed, flawed characters. Be prepared to be swept away on an emotional rollercoaster as Beau confronts his past and fights for a chance at happiness. This book will leave you feeling a kaleidoscope of emotions, ultimately offering a message of hope and the transformative power of love.
