An erotic novella. Contains homosexual relations. Tony likes women. Always has. Always will. So when he wakes up in a strange bed after a drunken night out, he isn’t too concerned. Thinking he’d scored with a woman from the club he’d been in the night before, he was shocked and horrified when he realized he was in a man’s bed. Naked. What the hell happened last night? With that question in mind, Tony quickly leaves before seeing the man he spent the night with, but in his haste leaves something important behind. When the man he spent the night with calls him, Tony realizes that he has to meet him in order to get back what he left and that maybe he might not be as straight as he once thought. With his brother’s help, Tony begins to question what he thought he knew about his sexuality and where the answer to that question might lead him.
What can I say about me? I have two boys who keep me on my toes and a cat who adopted us. She walked in one day and hasn’t left. We might be getting a dog too. Who knows?
I love to read about men in love. Flawed, but strong men, who need some TLC and find their happy ending. I love to write about those same type of men too, sometimes with added kink! I also love to read horrors, thrillers and crime novels.
When I’m not trying to keep my boys in line, or writing about hot sexy men, I like to work on my allotment. I also like to read, to take walks in the countryside, and visit historical places. Recently, we went to Stonehenge and Avebury. It was an amazing experience.
Omg, it was so funny. I know I'm bad. I'm not supposed to be laughing at him. But the situation he was in is so funny. And damn chemistry. I love books with good chemistry. I would totally rounded up if there wasn't a cliffhanger.
This is the start of a serial style romance or erotica series about a straight man, Tony - exploring his newly found attraction to men. Well, one man - Will. This only happens after a drunken night and the next morning Tony wakes up in Wills Bed. While it's obvious that there was some type of sexual encounter, Tony can't remember a thing.
The rest of the story is interactions between Tony and his gay brother Zeke, who encourages Tony to keep exploring his new found desires. Then there is Will, who holds Tony's watch in his condo as a luer to get a Tony back in his house. Honestly, had I been Tony I would have said forget the damn watch. I mean Tony is having panic attacks over what occurred between him and Will, he asks Will to bring the watch to a local diner and when he gets there...Will admits he left it at home cause he wants Tony to come over. Honestly, Will seemed like a bit of a predator - he has sexual, whatever with a man who Is blackout drunk, then tries to get him back to his house for a repeat performance and when Tony does go over there he really sorta takes over and does to Tony what he wants, even though he knows Tony is freaking out.
So, I wasn't too happy with the story - but I wanted to see what happened, and it just ends. Then I find out the next part is coming soon. So no plot except Will trying to get Tony in bed, Will is a bit of a predator, and no ending. 3 stars is as much as I can rate this story.

The story immediately drew me in and I quickly wanted to know what happened the night before. Tony has never been with a man before, and I liked how he wasn't jumping in full speed ahead. I can't wait for the next one!
As other reviewers have stated, this book just stops. No resolution, no ending. Readers are left hanging with a huge question. I took off a star for that. While the premise is interesting, I found Will to be a little too predatory given Tony's reactions to waking up hungover in a stranger's bed. The Britishisms in a book that seems to be set in the U.S. was off putting. Overall, can't recommend this one.
Honestly, this book wasn't that bad but what makes it a 1 star read is that it stops very suddenly which makes you want to read the second book. And that book is absolute shit. Really, nobody should read it unless you want to get very, very angry. Or you really like rape apologists. It is for the people who still work with Roman Polanski and think we should forget about this little thing he did. Ugh, I cannot put into words how much I hated the second book. Normally I try to only get angry at the fictional characters and not the authors because I always try to assume that the author wrote a character a certain way to challenge the reader but here I got super pissed at the author because Will is a shit show and I am not sure if the author really believes that it is okay to still be friends with the rapist of your boyfriend and force your clearly uncomfortable boyfriend to still have contact with his fucking kidnapper and rapist. Will is amazing at gaslighting and a really shitty boyfriend and human being.
what is with the use of the unnecessary Sat and Stood. In most cases they did not need to be used and/or the words around them should not be there if you are using the words Sat and Stood. Quick read more a warm up doesn't resolve anything just tells you this occured, you are left wondering if that is all , but continues on in second book Struggle.

Judging a Book by it's Cover: Two shirtless men posed at 90* angles, light and shadow play on them with a pitch black background. Synopsis sounded just intriguing enough to give it a try. Looking Deeper: Third-person POV, telling Tony's story. Micro-novella > approx. 60 pages > INCOMPLETE STORY - FIRST PART OF A SERIAL - CLIFFHANGER!
After a night of clubbing with his brother and a few friends, Tony wakes in a strange room - a man's room - and does not remember a thing about what happened last night. Literally half of the book involves Tony freaking out and/or having panic attacks over whatever happened and/or did not happen that night. Apparently, something in Tony's past is the cause of these panic attacks and I suspect it may be that someone forced himself on him, thinking he was his gay brother. Only at the halfway point are we introduced to the other half of the equation. Assertive, dominant, aggressive, forceful, and cocky are just a few ways to describe Will. He holds a family heirloom over Tony's head as leverage to see Tony again, more than once. Zeke was the only redeeming character of the book. The writing is good, but I have no clue where this is meant to take place... the terminology often used is not American, yet the story makes you think that the setting is in the U.S. Flow is good. Interaction and dialogue between the twins is very good, but I just was not buying into the Tony/Will thing. Yes, there was conflict. Tony being a first-time gay who still thinks he's straight and Will being a domineering asshat that tries to convey concern only AFTER the advances were made. No clear conflict was provided other than a few little phrases or comments that lead to my suspicion mentioned above and nothing is resolved as there's a GAPING CLIFF where the conclusion is meant to be. If an author plans to write a serial, it needs to clearly state it is so. Investing my time in a piece that is unfinished and with no forewarning makes me feel like my time's been wasted today. It's a betrayal to the reader, to cheat them of their time and interest in reading what they think will be a full story with an introduction/beginning, a middle with dynamics and solid plot, and an ending with a solid conclusion. Predictability was mild to moderate. I would not be able to recommend this until all parts have been released and sold as one finished piece.
An interesting start to a series? So here's the gist of it. Tony wakes up in a stranger's bed after a night of heavy drinking. He doesn't remember who or how he got there. Okay, you say. It happens, you say. Yes, but this stranger is a man. And Tony isn't into men. He likes women. When he realises he's in a man's bed whom he doesn't recognise, he freaks out and bolts from the house. In his rush to leave, he forgets his wristwatch, which has sentimental value to him.
So when the man calls him to return the watch Tony is in a awkward situation. He wants his watch back but he doesn't want to face the man. A man he might have had some sexual interaction with. He still doesn't remember exactly what happens. His gay brother persuades him to meet the guy, Will, and Tony does.
At their meeting, Tony realises he's attracted to this man but he's confused. How can he be? He's not into men, right? He carries on trying to deny his feelings and avoid Will. But it's not easy to get away from Will.
I understood the reason for Tony freaking out. If he'd never been with a man before, then it's a shock to find out you made out with one in a drunken haze. However, considering his brother was gay, I didn't expect him to freak out as much as he did like he had an aversion to gay men. I realise that something in Tony's past played a role in his reaction but since that isn't explained I presume it will come out in future books in the series.
Also, I'd have liked a better transition between his reactions with Will. It seemed like one minute he'd be freaking out, the next he was making out with the guy and another minute he was freaking out again. It's like watching a ping-pong match.
Anyway, this is an easy quick read, something for a short train ride. Nothing is resolved and you will have to read the follow-on book to find out what happens with the two of them.

This was certainly an interesting novella, and that opening chapter definitely captured my attention. What would it be like to be a heterosexual man and then wake up to the knowledge that you just spent the night with someone of the same sex? Tony's uncertainty was perfectly understandable but he got the minimum amount of sympathy from his twin Zeke, who seemed to get more of a kick out of the fact that Tony was, at the very least, bisexual. Zeke seemed to be overdoing it at times, pushing Tony to be with Will, the man he spent that drunken night with. You would think that as a gay man himself, he would know better than to pressure someone--his twin nonetheless--to deal with his newly discovered sexuality then and there. Seriously? If Zeke were my brother (well, even he wasn't), I would have smacked him for his insensitivity.
As far as Will was concerned, there really wasn't much about him that I found the least bit appealing. He held Tony's watch hostage, hoping to go another round with Tony. When Tony informed him that he had never been with a man before their forgettable time together, Will stated that the news wasn't surprising. But then, later he says that Tony's behavior made him think that Tony had done that sort of thing before and he would never have thought Tony wasn't gay. Huh? That contradictory statement plus several instances in the text where it felt repetitious knocked off a couple of points in my overall rating. Tony's behavior was at times humorous, but then it was also rather understandable since he was still coming to grips with his "sudden" bisexuality. I'd like to see what happens next, and I'm giving Awakening 3.5 stars. ♥
Who hasn't had a night where you went crazy with the intent to have a good time and of course alcohol was involved? Who hasn't woken up the next morning saying to yourself "Oh God What did I DO?" Well this book is one of those moments but with a twist. After a night of partying hard Tony wakes up in a strangers bed. Unfortunately this is not something new for Tony. Tony is used to waking up in a woman's bed and not exactly remembering how he got there. Tony loves women so this morning is another one of "those nights." Well all is not as it usually is this morning! Tony when finally coherent enough hears the shower running - hmmm ok in his mind. But after a quick scan he is nowhere even close to being where he thinks he is. As soon as Tony Figures it out he is escaping as fast as possible when he realizes this is a MAN's place!!
I loved this book and wish it was longer I am so glad that there is more to this story that will be coming soon. I love stories that challenge characters to make them really think about life and what they want out of it. Are they really happy or just going through the motions because they think this what they are suppose to be doing.
Just because you think you are straight doesn't mean you are or are you? When Tony is forced to meet up again with his "Hook Up" things are a little shaken up for him. Will is much more than Tony thought and is not going to let Tony get away that easy.
I am so excited for more and cannot wait for Will to "get through" to Tony and make Tony question everything he thought of himself.
This is an amazing story written in such a way that I was completely invested from the first page. And even though I usually balk at really short stories, this one worked for me. It did exactly what it was supposed to do, I guess, because I am dying to read the next book. It seems this is the first in a series, and thank goodness, because otherwise, that ending is a killer! You cannot end a book like that and NOT have a follow up. So, be warned now!
This is really not a romance, yet, but the groundwork has been laid and the characterization (at least for Tony) is pretty well fleshed out. Will still needs his voice, but I can only hope that will occur in the next installment. Tony and Zeke are identical twins. Zeke is gay and Tony is straight…or at least he thought he was until he woke up in Will’s bed covered in love bites. This short story is basically Tony freaking out and coming to grips with how that night happened, how he feels about it, and what happened in his past to make him fight it. I loved the interaction between Tony and Zeke, and I wanted more with Tony and Will, but this short was more of a prequel (I hope), a teaser for what’s to come next.
If you can get past the cliffhanger ending and deal with no HEA ,or even a HFN, I think you will enjoy this book. I admit I was like “what the heck” when it ended, but knowing something is following makes it okay…for now.
This was my first time reading anything by Megs Pritchard and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet story. I really enjoy a story that gives good punch to a plot-line and that is what Meg Pritchard has given us in this sweet new series. It just seems to suck you in and keeps you there from start to finish and leaves us wanting more from this author. Tony wakes up in a strangers bed and he totally doesn't remember anything from the night before ,but when he looks around trying to put everything together ,he quickly realizes that his one night stand isn't a woman after all.But it doesn't take Tony long to run just as fast as he can get away ,will who ever is in the shower comes out . After he tells his twin brother Zane what happen ,and who just happens to be gay himself ,what he thought meant have happen ,but Zane tires to tell him to pursue his desires ,after he started filling in some blanks for him. Then then a stranger calls Tony and informs him that he left something behind when he rushed to leave. But as Tony meets Will ,he must fight his thoughts he was having ,but it seems that Will isn't going to give up so easily. But then Tony is testing his limits slightly with Will. I could go on and tell you more about this sweet story but you will have to wait with the rest of us until the next book is out. I highly recommend that you read this sweet story ,you won't be disappointed.
I liked the blurb for this one but when I read it, it did not state this was part one of a story. So as a warning I will advise your there is no HEA or HFN for this novella.
This short introduces Tony who after a heavy night of drinking in a club, he wakes in the morning in a man’s bed. Nothing wrong with that until you find out Tony is heterosexual. Or is he?
The story was then kind of slow going with the back and forth conversations between him and his gay brother Zeke about Tony accepting that he must have felt an attraction to go back to a man’s house no matter how drunk he was. This continued for maybe half the book and then Tony finally plucks up courage to go meet the man known as Will. Tony then starts to acknowledge he is attracted but still questions how can this be. There is some sexual interaction but for me the story didn’t really gel. Maybe because I was hoping for the conclusion and had set myself up for that. If I had gone into the read knowing this was the first part then maybe my frame of mind for the book would have been different.
Looking back (hindsight being wonderful and all that) this was a good start and I would be interested in picking up the story to see what pans out between Tony and Will. Is this a GFY situation or is Tony really bisexual? As this wasn’t delved into I am presuming this will be picked up in part two of the serial.
Overall a quick dive into what could be a good storyline. Three stars.
What happens when a drunkin' Tony wakes up in a strangers bed? What about when that stranger is actually another male and Tony was 100% sure he was heterosexual?
The next morning is always awkward but when Tony wakes up and takes a look around, trying to piece together the details - he quickly realizes his one night stand was not a woman. He runs as fast as he can to get away while, whomever, is in the shower. After confessing to his twin Zane who happens to be gay, what he thinks could have happened, Zane tries to convince him to pursue his desires after filling in a few blanks for him.
Tony gets his chance when a mystery caller informs him that he left something behind in his rush to escape.
When he meets Will again for the first time, sober, Tony is busy fighting his thoughts but Will is determined not to give up so easily.
The story ends with Tony testing his limits with Will ever so slightly.
It's a quick read that ends in pretty much a cliffhanger. I had really wanted more of Tony and Will - I felt like their characters weren't developed as much as they could have been, but this is part of a series - so I'll be looking forward to reading the next one! I also really want to see Zane get his own happy ending.
Omg!!! What an amazing story. It is full of confusion, revaluations, plenty of questioning of ones self, anguish, lust, pain, and second guessing of ones self.
Tony in my opinion is hiding from himself and the things that he truly wants that will make him happy in the end. I think the reasoning behind it has to do with something horrible from his past that will not let him go. So he denies himself the one one person that could be his other half......Will.
I think Will is a very patient man because most would have given up on Tony by now with the way he is so hot and cold. I think he realizes that something is holding Tony back even though he has not said anything. So far Will has put up with the running but how long will that last?
I think these two men would be one heck of a hot couple of Tony would face whatever is in his past but if he keeps running he may just lose the one person who could help him overcome his fears and the one person who could be happiness into his life.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series to come out. I am anxiously waiting to see what is going to happen next. Hopefully I will not have to wait too long because this is a very good story.
Was given this book for free from inked rainbow reads for an honest review
Original review on Molly Lolly Four stars! This story is part one of a serial. There’s some background building in this story that I am completely intrigued about where it’s leading. From the sounds of things it explains Tony’s anxiety and issues accepting himself. If that’s what’s actually going on. I feel for Tony because he seems to truly want to let go with Will but is unable to and it’s hurting him to deny what he wants. Tony’s twin brother Zeke seems to be someone that Tony relies on in his times of need. Will seems to really want to get to know Tony and start a relationship with him. My guess is when Will realizes Tony is struggling with accepting himself, Will will change his tune a little bit. The ending though. It’s not a cliffhanger but not anywhere near a happy for now. It’s a typical serial ending where you’re left with enough story to make you want the next one right afterwards. I really would like to know what happens next. I’m planning on reading the whole serial to find out how things work out for Tony and Will. I’m hoping Zeke gets his own happy ending in the process as well.
I really hate it when a book doesn't have any indication that what you are about to read is not a full story. And now that I know that this is really just an installment of a much bigger story, I feel better about what I read ... but that little detail should have been part of the synopsis. Without knowing that detail, the story lacks big time. There's no real development at all. Not even growth. There's a moment in time that might define the future of two people ... maybe. Like I said, this short story doesn't do much except introduce the players, Tony and Will, and set up the conflict of the story .. which I will leave for you to figure out ;) That being said, what I did read was a pretty good start to what could potentially be a really good story of growth and self-discovery. But I have to leave it at that ... for now. I look forward to more of the story soon.

NOTE: When I went to post my review on Amazon, the author does indicate this is an installment by aptly titling the book Awakening: Part One in the Crossing Desires Series, however, that is not how it was presented to me beforehand....
First let me say that this story is normally not a typical book I would read as it is a M/M romance story.
That being said I have to say that this is a GREAT book. Not only a hot read but it gives a very in depth look at the struggle of a gay or bi man makes when he is physically attracted to the same sex, but mentally not ready to admit to it. You can see the self growth he does as he slowly comes to terms with it, and the struggles and yes panic attacks within that struggle.
This book blew me away with the way the author was able to show the feelings of not only the gay brother but the straight one as he struggles to accept what happened in his past. (Which is not clearly defined but you get hints of it as the story progresses.) Then you have the attraction he feels with Will.
I only wish I could give this story more then just 5 stars as it so richly deserves. The author did an outstanding job grabbing your attention and keeping it within this story even as it tells a story within the story that I can only assume will be reviled at a later date within the covers of another book.
This was my first book for this author and my first M/M and I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised as this book did make me laugh. This was great short story at only 60 pages so a quick easy read.
Ladies man Tony wakes up after a night out with the hangover from hell and no memory of the night before. Slowly he realises he's in a strange bedroom and the clothing on the floor does not belong to a Woman, there are men's clothes mixed up on the floor with his. He gets dressed as quickly as his sore head and queasy stomach allow and tries to sneak out before his company gets out the shower.
He calls his gay brother to come and collect him and his brother takes great delight in teasing him about his night out and what happened especially after he sees all the hickeys covering Tony's body.
It's hilarious watching Tony struggle to deal with his feelings towards Will, he's head is saying he likes woman but this man can play his body like a musical instrument.
Would really award this book 3 1/2 stars if I could t
I’m not a huge fan of serials and had I known this was one I probably would have waited to read it. And I’m assuming that’s the reason this was so short and ended abruptly. There’s not much I can say at this point as we didn’t get too far into the story or get much character development. Zeke and Tony seem close but Tony was a bit indirectly offensive to Zeke a couple of times and Zeke flew off the handle. Both of those scenes were awkward for me. Tony has some big secret stopping him from considering being with Will but we have absolutely no idea what it is as it’s just barely hinted at but apparently a big deal. Will seems overly possessive for having just met Tony. We still don’t know much about Will.
The scene between Will and Tony when they finally get together is very hot even with Will’s possessiveness.
I’m anxious to see where this goes, so if this is finished in 2-3 issues, I will probably finish the series…if it continues on longer than that, I would be out.
After a great night out Tony wakes up the next morning hung over and in someone elses room. Not just any someone, but a guy. Tony has never ever been with a guy before in fact he loves women and never entertained the thought of being another guy. He bolts from the house without seeing who it was and tells his brother what happened - or rather lack of as he has a complete blank as to what really happened.
His brother also his twin who happens to be gay finds it all rather amusing, much to Tony's disgust and they get into a fight about it. He gets a phone call from Will who is the mystery man he went home saying that in his rush to leave he left his watch and wants to meet to give him it back.
This was a really short novella about 60 pages that will immediately have you sucked into the story as you want to find out just what exactly happened between Tony and his mystery man Will, and see Tony test his limits that he never knew was possible.
Loved it although it was short, I cant wait for more as this one ended on a cliffhanger!!!
This is a short novella 60 pages but damn is it hot! WARNING it contains a M/M relationship so if this is not your thing do NOT read or it may cause offence.
Tony awakens with a mega hangover in a strange bed .. nothing new there apart from the fact he has reason to believe this time it was a man’s bed.
This actually deals with his realisation in a really sweet way. With the aid of his twin brother Zeke and eventually the man in question (Will) Tony is forced to admit his feelings may not be what he previously thought.
There is a lot going on in this book and it makes for compulsive reading. I really liked Zeke he has a cheeky humour and the way he and Tony bounce insults off of each other is an insight into the twin bond. Great short read, steamy, explicit and ends on a huge cliffhangar … I need book two pronto!
Thanks to the author and Enticing Journey Book Promotions for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.
So I didn't realize that this is the start of a novella series, not a big fan of those, but I liked the blurb and that's why I tried it.
What happens when you wake up in the morning, hung over and in a room that you have never seen before? You're trying to remember what happened, all you know is that your head hurts, you feel like poo, and there is someone in the shower. You remember a woman and a man...... but who did you go home with.
This series starts off and just grips you. Tony escaping after realizing that something happened that he just doesn't know how to deal with. Knowing he now will have to come to terms with this attraction.... he doesn't handle it well at all.
Now I am hooked and I will have to keep reading as I need to know what happens next. I give this 4 stars.
I have to first give you a warning: This is a man on man book and has some sexual situations that is not suitable for readers under the age of 18 and readers who do not read LGBT books.
With this warning said I have to say I enjoyed the first installment of this series. Oh lordy was it good so much so I devoured it in an hour. I don't want to say to much but this is a story about discovering who you are and what you want out of life.
Tony loves women. He is a man's man and loves him some women so much so I would say he is a man whore with the ladies. But when he wakes up in a room at the club house and finds out he was with a man he is not sure what the hell happened and why. Tony knows he loves women so why the hell would he be with a man.
This is the beginning of Tony finding out who he is and who he wants to be with. I need installment two to find out what comes next!
This book I super super short. I actually didn’t find out it will be part of a serial until AFTER I read it, which actually made more sense.
As far as the story goes, I liked the premise of it. Will had to be “something else” to catch Tony’s eye seeing that he is straighter than an arrow. Tony’s twin encourages him to take this leap to explore new things.
My favorite part of all of this was Will. Some people think he came across as a predator, but I didn’t see him that way. I just thought he was a super intense sexy beast who was going for what he wanted, even if what he wants isn’t quite sure what he himself wants.
Knowing now that this is just a prelude to more, I would read the rest of it just to find out what happens and see if the other characters grow on me.
Awakenings by Megs Pritchard is book one in her Crossing Desires series. While it is a quick read, it leaves you hanging and wanting more…and I’m really hoping that we get a lot of questions answered in the next installment!
Tony is straight. Always has been and always will be. That being said, even he can’t explain how he ended waking up naked in another man’s bed or why he feels so attracted to Tony. He fights it every step of the way, faltering here and there, but that doesn’t mean he is ready to just give in. Will Tony be able to win him over? Will he keep running? I DON’T KNOW!! I need book 2!
The first installment left too many things open and me scratching my head a lot, but I still recommend it. 3.5 stars!
