Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.

There are four main characters in this book and each one has their own chapters. Elizabeth, Jessica, Anna and Salvador. Anna is having a lot of personal emotional trouble since the anniversary of her brother's death is coming up. Jessica is having a lot of trouble with a geeky guy who follows her around and wants to date her (she wants nothing at all to do with him.) He becomes kind of starlker-ish.

Elizabeth and Salvador end up establishing a sort of romantic relationship which is a problem since Anna and Salvador are best friends and he doesn't want to hurt Anna's feelings. Elizabeth doesn't want to hurt Anna's feelings either but she and Salvador just seem to keep on getting together.

The part with the guy stalking Jessica is rather funny. The rest of it entails emotional problems among the other three characters and how they can possibly solve their problems without any of them getting hurt. Overall a good story.

I'm not sure if I picked up this book because it looked interesting, or because the title caught my eye back when I was about 13-14. Haha. Overall it was alright, I think... slightly better than the Sweet Valley Twins (Poor Lila!) I had a few years before, but with a similar tween theme; only I think this is more relatable in modern times as compared to the previous one. Not saying that I don't 'feel' the previous book though. However I MIGHT pick this up to read again if I'm feeling really bored and feel like reading something.

I read a whole bunch of these books when I was nine, before moving on to the SVH, Senior Year and SVU. These were definitely the cutest, and on par with Senior Year for realism.

Sweet Valley Junior High was seriously nothing but a crappy attempt at milking the series for all its worth. Blah.

I remember how much I loved Elisabeth with Salvadore. My second first ever book crush after Eva & Adam. :D

It was hard reading this book because it had to deal with Elizabeth trying to ruin Jessica's friendship with her friend
