Kodaka-sensei made her debut in 1989 with Sessa Takuma! in Shounen Champion. Today she is one of the most popular Boys' Love authors. She is famous for her work on designing the characters for Triple X's BL anime Boku no Sekuhara (My Sexual Harassment) and is also the beloved author of Kizuna.
Matoh Sanami taught her how to draw using a shoujo-style. Sanami Matoh and Kazuma Kodaka are actually very good friends.
Three years I've been waiting for this but it was worth it. All characters are so likeable, they all have an amazing, if sad back story and their friendship is awesome. I love how Kodaka-sensei manages to create a deep connection between the reader and all the characters.
As bittersweet as they are, I love the little side stories about Yamato and Will's past.
It's been three years since the last volume, so I decided to reread the whole series. Border was actually one of the first manga I ever read, so rereading also was rather nostalgic. I still love this series, even though you really can't tell where she is going with this. At the heart isn't any kind of romance though; the most important thing is the relationship between Yamato, Tamaki, Kippei and Sougo. It's certainly not a perfectly planned out series (especially the Will/Yamato scenes feel kinda tacked on, mostly because they are omake, and tbh I have a hard time getting invested in their relationship) but it still has a lot of heart and I love it. Waiting years for the next volume is worth it, and I am grateful she tends to avoid cliffhangers.
