Lethal Partnership

Rate this book
This thriller begins with Special Agent Rick Clark recovering from a traumatic loss that has turned his world upside down. Determined to discover the truth behind the grisly murder of his dear friend, he departs for Peru where his key witness has mysteriously fled. With the help of the Peruvian intelligence services and a beautiful Peruvian special agent, Clark hunts down clues that bring him into direct confrontation with those who possess the means and the will to crush any opposition. Mercilessly and completely.

This is a powerful story about courage, commitment, and personal loss. But it is also a story about regenerative hope and how it can restore one to wholeness. From tragic ashes, a fate battered phoenix arises and promises justice for its victims, and healing for a noble, tortured soul.

A lethal Partnership is a quick & easy read. The nouvella is its own little adventure with disillusioned FBI agent Rick Clark unofficially investigating a lead to a murder down in Peru. He is helped by General Morales and his niece Neva. It never does say how Rick knows the Peruvian General or why the General would so willingly help him. Perhaps it was mentioned in a previous novel. The way Peru is described makes you believe the author has visited there; an exotic location for a thriller. I would suggest more action, mystery, intrigue & conflict in future thrillers, however the way the story was told keeps your attention and leaves you wanting more. The fictional gas attack in the book may have been based on Egypt's gas attack on Yemen in January 1967. I would read another Rick Clark novel and hope to see more of the series.

Michael Segedy’s A Lethal Partnership delivers a gripping blend of suspense, emotion, and moral depth. Special Agent Rick Clark’s pursuit of justice in Peru is both thrilling and deeply human, as he battles loss, corruption, and his own inner demons. Segedy’s writing is sharp, cinematic, and heartfelt a story of courage, redemption, and hope rising from tragedy. A compelling read for fans of thoughtful, character-driven thrillers.

This is based in Peru. Involves a Special Agent with the FBI wanting to solve a murder of a dear friend. He is off duty so he is doing this off the books but with the help of a General's daughter who happens to be in the Lima Police Dept. I enjoyed reading this book. I like the interaction between the Special Agent and the Police Woman. How between the two of them they figure out where the guy is that the agent wants to talk to. This all involves way more than the murder of his friend. Read it to find out what is really going on.
