This volume had a very different tone. I appreciate that we not only got some history, but the plot moved forward significantly as well.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS MANGA
NONE IF THE CHARACTERS’ MOTIVATIONS MAKE ANY SENSE
Jfc. Why does Jae decide she loves Michael?? She’s barely talked to him and she’s lived there months? And why does she tell Ken she’ll leave with him when she doesn’t like him the way she knows he wants her to?? And why did Ken’s mom want Michael to make Ken a vampire?? And why didn’t any of them bother to, I don’t know, ASK HIM FIRST????
God this manga doesn’t belong on any must read list, let alone several damn.

In Model Vol. 5, Jae finally starts to admit her own feelings, both to herself and to Michael. She’s in love with a vampire, and she isn’t afraid of him, even if she should be. And there are several scenes in this volume where we get to see some of the fierce chemistry between the two of them as they end up in each other’s arms.
Meanwhile, the flashbacks continue, and this time, we get to see more of Adrian, whose story is intimately intertwined with the stories of Eva, Michael, and Ken. What is he doing in Michael’s house, and what can his true intentions be?

I wasn’t a fan of this series. I was just bored most of the time. I do have to say I liked the ending. But for the most part I never got into the story line. There were too many sudden character switches in the story line with, there was zero transitions. It was hard to follow at times. The art didn’t help much. It wasn’t horrible, but the male characters all looked the same and with some of the shadings it was hard to tell if it was the main male character or a different male character. I’m a fan of supernatural shoujo, but I only finished reading this series was because I had hopes it was just slow and would catch my interest by the end.

Well, this volume had the most story progression, but I somehow feel so utterly, and completely disappointed by what's happened. At least we have the beautiful cover....

This volume easily has the best cover art to me. However, one thing I'd like to point out is the font in all of the books is fancy...but a little harder to read for me.

As tension mounts in this fifth volume of seven, Jae considers leaving the house, but she is too drawn to the mystery behind Michael, Ken, and Eva. We see flashbacks of Michael's human life. Jae reaches the point of no return with Michael, but what about Ken and his love for her? We learn yet another secret as to what Eva wants for Michael to give Ken. Preparations for Ken are fast approaching as he deals with his own transformations. The story complicates as Jae realizes who she truly loves. But has she overstayed her welcome?
Well this is probably my favorite entry because something monumental happens between my preferred ship. I also thought it was good to see the a glimpse into Michael's human life as it added another dimension to him. I was a little sad to see Jae sort of resolves that she isn't actually a talented artist, but just relies on her passion to *want* to be good. I feel like she should be better and stronger than that. I do at least like that she is in tune with her feelings. It's just a matter of her suitors deciding what they want.
The story isn't the most original, and the men are drawn so beautifully to the point of where they look like women, at least if they have long hair. The art style isn't really my favorite as the features are a bit disproportionate for my tastes, but it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the series. Jae's character could be worse. She makes pretty stupid decisions, but I do like that she stands up for herself every so often. And she certainly has her dedication to art. You can't deny that. This being the fifth volume, she is still consistent with goal of obtaining Michael's portrait. I am glad to see an actual deadline.
I purchased the whole series at once on Ebay for about $30. It was an excellent deal and I've gladly kept every one. It is FAR from the best series, but I've certainly read worse.

I felt like the first scene was quite strong, although Jae's lack of nipples is a little bizarre (perhaps has something to do with Korean pornography laws?) Also, blue roses are not a thing. I cannot say this enough.

There's also Michael's backstory, which is basically the same as Jae's story, with a side serving of attempted suicide. It surprises me how little action there is in this series. I'm still enjoying it, but it is hard to pretend that it is anything more than a romance (which happens to feature a vampire) rather than a very interesting story.

The pace of the story has really picked up and things are really getting intense. Michael is revealing more of himself to Jae. As he pulls Jae closer to himself he also pulls the reader in. It is impossible to read this and not become emotionally involved with Michael. Likewise more and more is being revealed about Adrian’s part in things and about Ken and Eva’s past. And finally we learn about Michael’s past and his ties to Adrian. This is the best book in the series to this point. The story is more emotionally charged than ever and characters are revealing themselves in ways you would never expect.

5th of 7 volumes of a gothic romance. We have a nice flashback sequence to Michael in a Monastary and learn a little more of his relationship with Adrian. Michael finally seduces Jae which heightens the tension in the Ken/Michael/Jae love triangle. Still very fragmented and sketchy with lots of questions remaining unanswered.
Not a huge fan of the artwork; stylised stick bodies and limbs, angular androgynous faces that all look very similar. Very slow story.
