A Recipe 4 Revenge (Total Package Publications, LLC, 2016, ISBN 978-0-9789276-9-1) by David L. is an action & suspense novel that illustrates the lives of four very different women at various stages of their lives and chronicles their perspective on how they have been individually tormented and sexually abused by an unsuspecting individual from high school. At their ten year high school reunion, past secrets are uncovered about one another and egos are put to a test as each individual quickly come to the realization that their lives are intertwined in more ways than they could ever imagine. Do they allow their discoveries of one another to continue to dictate their fate? Are they able to set aside personal vendettas with a common enemy long enough to retaliate accordingly? These are just a few of the questions that must be answered before their perpetrator becomes aware of whom they are and become the antagonist! Through the course of crafting this story, David L.’s primary intention was, and still is to both capture and more importantly educate the masses to the historically under-reported prevalence of underage females being unjustly taken advantage of from individuals lurking in the shadows and walking the earth ready to prey on them. Many of our own sisters and daughters are right now carrying the shame of being an unfortunate victim of a sexual assault on their weighted shoulders, and even more significant, that shame is poisoning their outlook on future relationships, child-rearing and how they see the world. “I am obviously not a woman who has been through such a heinous crime such as sexual assault but I can to the best of my ability emphasize with their torment,” says David L. while crafting his novel. “My primary objective was to show the masses the plight of the underage female and the unfortunate circumstances that can come from being a victim of a sexual assault from such an early age.”
David L., author and publisher, holds a Bachelors Degree in Communications and Human Relations and a Masters Degree in Social Work with a concentration in clinical administration.
His first release entitled “Over Your Dead Body” is set in present-day New York, written in character-specific dialogue. His novel stands alone in two ways: First, it provides a passionate backdrop of just how fragile an institution like marriage can be. Secondly, it clearly reveals that there is indeed – a thin line between love and hate.
His second release entitled “Chalk Outline Confessions” is a serial killer non-stop thriller which cleverly details just how far a woman will go in which she has been scorned by her deceased and double-crossing spouse.
His third release entitled “My Life Is A Movie” chronicles a high school senior getting ready to graduate, doing her best to avoid all of the customary and ritualistic pitfalls that often plague that age range. Every parent, care provider andconcerned adult should purchase this for that special young person in their life.
His fourth and most recent release, “Represent” captures the realism of the streets and family values and answers that age old question: when is it alright to turn your back on those that raised you? Two brothers, one living the life of the streets, and the other, a path of academics come to a crossroads when older sibling receives a life sentence for his role in the murder of one of his peers. What does younger brother do? Continue on with his life of positivity? Or seek revenge for his brother on those that set him up in the first place?

I wasn't sure what to expect with reading this book. The story started off slow however picks up in the middle and by that point you are hooked and want to know how it ends. The story flowed smoothly and you were able to follow the characters easily. The editing was very good and there were no grammar errors.
This story was about 4 women who went to the same high school and met during the class reunion. Something happens to one of the characters which brings all the ladies together. Once they start talking, they realized they have more in common. Once everyone reveals their secret, they make a pact to set forth a series of mishaps to the one person responsible for their life outcomes.
It is nice to read a story that is out of the ordinary and not part of the latest topics such as drug dealers, and it is a pleasure to view how he progresses in his writing. I look forward to more stories by him. David's stories never disappoint, so grab a copy. You won't be disappointed.
First off the book started off so slow I had to put it down a couple of times. But baby when it picked it picked the hell up. I really enjoyed this book. All the twist and turns and the drama is what kept me reading this book. David you did your thang with this book. Most highly recommend to everyone to read.
As the old saying goes, "revenge is a dish best served cold" which means loosely that if and/or when you exact revenge it is best that there has been some time in between the occurrences. That way it is believed that the person has forgotten all about their mishaps and is living life smoothly. What happens when you don't realize that you want revenge until you are forced into a situation when you can give it? Do you go through with it or are you content with living your life as it is?
Sasha is a natural-born leader. Because she is so headstrong this has caused her some problems in her life. Just like the cat that she is, she lands on her feet. When Sasha goes to her 10-year high school reunion, the events of that night will set the course for what she believes her life will look like in the future. Is Sasha still young enough to accept this change or will she rebel against it will her everything.
Letrice is the polar opposite of Sasha. She is quiet, blends in with the walls, and has an obsessive compulsive disorder. But if you push Letrice's buttons just right she is just as fiery as Sasha if not more. What is it that can bring this person out of her shell or is there anything that can? Can Letrice be the person that she always knew she was or will she just be this woman who is a stranger to her in every sense of the word?
A Recipe 4 Revenge is a story about a taboo that occurs in todays society that has been around longer than its existence. Oftentimes in society it is frowned upon for a child to tell on a person in authority or someone who is an adult. Children belong in their place, seen but not heard. The result of those types of situations more often spiral into an adulthood of trouble and trauma. David L. captures what happens when children are scared to talk or lacking trust in adults. It is a gripping tale of deceit and an attempt to regain trust in someone other than the ones that you believe who are there to protect you. You will be conflicted with the story but you will enjoy it.
A Recipe 4 Revenge by David L. was a good book. After reading the book, the cover definitely tells the story. This book was written well with a nice pace from beginning to end. The book was well edited and contained no grammar errors.
The story is about 4 women who re-connected during a high school class reunion and realized they had more in common than they thought. The ladies decide to take matters into their own hands to seek revenge however things went wrong during the process. What happens next you will have to read and go along for the ride.
The plot was very inventive that progresses slowly at first but starts to pick up when you reach the middle of the story. You are able to follow the characters and decide if you are for or against what the ladies are doing. The author does a very good job at providing a background so you can understand and relate to each lady.
We look forward to reading more of David’s work and maybe some collaborations in the future.
I thought this was an interesting book of the week that brought these 4 women together. While they were all voted "most likely to become great" in high school, it was amazing to see the path they travelled after experiencing a horrific event. Jessie, the common denominator that brought them together, had no idea the damage he caused until it was much too late. From doing drugs to being incarcerated, these women dealt with life the best they could. Their plans & actions for revenge were well mapped out & kept the storyline flowing. Good read on a subject that's rarely discussed.
This was my 1st read from David L however it will not be my last. The story started off slow but after reading the entire book I understood why the author did what he did. Lauren, Sasha, Destiny and Letrice take you on a rollercoaster ride in this story. David L gave each lady their own identity that was relatable if not to you then someone you've encounter. This book is filled with twist and turns; I would definitely recommend this book.
This was a story of a few women who attended the same high school, graduate the same year, and had never met one another. Their bond began after an accident during their High School reunion, where they realized what is was that they had in common. Once they've found out they were each violated by the same person, they made a pact to seek revenge in the worst way possible.
I like how this Author has shed light on what many young ladies endure, which happens on a daily basis. These types of stories shows just how the situations can effect the lives of many which for some, has caused major life altering decisions.
This indeed was a page turner, and it was finished in a couple of hours. It caught my attention, and brought about different emotions. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
This was a different story not what I expected but it was a good story none the less. A very good story on revenge. Some people can't get over being hurt in the past and have to get revenge and this story has an interested plot!
