A sexy stripper attempts to escape his dangerously obsessed boss while searching for his missing younger brother.

Stripping used to be fun, lucrative and a place for Dakota to practice for his professional dancing career. But the owner of Glitter Boys wants Dakota for himself and will stop at nothing to possess him. When his thirteen-year-old brother runs away from home to escape their abusive father, Dakota is determined to find him before something awful happens to him on the streets.

Patrol officer Reed hasn’t been attracted to a man in a very long time, but when he’s called to an assault in progress at the LGBTQ teen shelter, a young man approaches him, begging for help in finding his missing brother. An instant spark occurs, but he pushes it away. When the same man is attacked outside a strip club later that night, he discovers the desire is mutual.

As the two men learn more about each other and become closer, the specter of his obsessed ex-boss remains. In addition to that, Dakota has to fight the system to gain guardianship of his brother and keep him out of foster care. Dakota doesn’t know if the hunky cop he’s fallen so hard for can handle a relationship with an ex-stripper struggling to raise a teenager. But, will Reed be able to give up dating women for good and dedicate himself to their new family?

This is a 3.5 stars review round up to 3

I had great expectations for this book. All the elements were there to make it an interesting and entertaining read, but in the end, it was just okay. The first half was strong, the story is building up around Dakota’s brother that ran away from his parents home and Yuri, a creepy guy, that wanted Dakota all for himself. I was instantly hooked, Dakota is a stripper at glitter boys and is trying to save money to realize his dreams. He had a plan, ambition and wanted to anything that he can to get there. Reed is a bi cop. He only had been in a relationship with one guy and he has a teenage daughter. When he and Dakota met, he fell hard… and that’s when the story went downhill.

The second half of the book was about Dakota and Reed sensual and intimate discovery. That’s an amazing thing to have in any romance book, but in this case, that left little room for the story that was built-up in the first half. There are some graphic scenes, but nothing really shocking. There was passion and we can feel the chemistry between Dakota and Reed. It was well written and I enjoyed some of it. Too much is like not enough, having a couple of them back to back, just got me out of the story and I struggled to keep reading it. However, some of those scenes could have been easily left out of the story and that would have been fine with me. Doing so would have given the Yuri and Donny plots more depth and a satisfying ending.

I really liked the scenes that were set at the Glitter Boys Bar, in fact, all the scenes that Dakota was dancing. I also liked the interactions between Yuri and Dakota. You can touch and smell the fear of Dakota when Yuri was around. This guy wanted him and would not stop until he gets what he wants. When Dakota’s mother went to visit him, it was a highly emotional charged scene, I could feel all the desperation that both of them were feeling. Dakota wanted to help his brother so much, but he was not quite sure how he could succeed at that. Reed was the rational one, I loved when he went camping with his daughter and they had their heart to heart talk and when Carlos asked him if he was gay.

The ending felt rushed and I was disappointed. The epilogue provided answers to what happened next, but it was like having a slice of cake in front of me and have someone taking it away. That is leaving me wondering if the background story was just a mean to an end (having Dakota meeting Reed) instead of exploring fully the story. It is extremely frustrating.

Characters are quite well built, but it falls short story wise. I would also have loved to see a clash between the striptease bar and a cop. Having that unconditional acceptance from Reed bugged me because, I'll be honest if I were to meet someone that is dancing I would have a lot of questions and I doubt that a relationship will start as fast as this one, but hey I might just be a little too realistic.

I am not planning to read the other installments in this series, it was missing that wow factor.

I love strippers. Any kind really. But especially strippers who wear these

...and dance on these

Yummy.

So Dakota starts out in a strip club. He’s trying to save for dance classes because he wants to join a dance show in vegas, more like this…

Instead of this….

Can’t you do both though?! For me?

While he’s trying to work through trouble with his crazy stalker boss, his mother tells him that his brother is missing. So he attempts to enlist the help of Reed, a Patrol Officer who responds to a call at a local LGBT youth centre where Dakota is searching for his brother.

Dakota and Reed have chemistry. Lots of lovely chemistry. Except while Reed has always known he was bisexual, he has actually never been with another man that way

Butt virgin?!!

I really enjoyed the heat between these two. The sex was aggressive and awesome. Dakota might be only twenty-three and wears tiny shorts to work, but he is definitely a dominant personality and goes for what he wants.

As far as the plot goes. Meh, it was all right. It centred mostly around Reed and Dakota getting to know each other, as well as Dakota working out how to get custody of his younger brother. The rest of the drama going on around them was easy enough to swallow. Being the seventh book in the series, I don’t know if prior books tie in, or if they’re all standalone stories that are set in the same world. I didn’t feel lost at all, and there was only a hint of some people Reed knew that may have been introduced in prior books or that had background information that may have been interesting.

Overall I enjoyed this story. It didn’t blow my mind, but it was a solid read that gave me enough of the things I love to get absorbed in it.

Recommended for those who enjoy a solid contemporary romance, with a small amount of action, characters with an age gap of ten years or more, and some hot dirty talk.

There is some violence in this, some suggestion of domestic abuse, and stalking, but it is a very small portion of the story.

Reed is a bi-sexual, but he’s spent most of his dating and married life with women. He’s not had but one relationship with a man and it wasn’t very good. He’s not in the closet so much as not advertising his position. When he meets Dakota he’s immediately attracted to the charismatic dancer and isn’t afraid to act on that.

Dakota is struggling against the slime his ex-boss sends his way when Dakota won’t get involved with him. Now his brother is missing and he’s lost his new job, too. Reed seems too good to be true, even if he doesn’t have all the answers, he’s there to help.

**

There were some really cute/sweet parts to this story. I loved seeing Reed explore the “gay” side of his bisexuality with the open and somewhat “toppy” Dakota. It was a nice role reversal.

Sometimes I felt that Reed and Dakota’s relationship felt a bit too “insta” for me in that there really was no relationship angst for them even though there really should have been.

Most of the drama in this book centered around the bad guys and finding Dakota’s brother.

If you’re a fan of the series you’ll want to pick this one up, though you don’t have to have read the previous books to read this one.

Fans of gay virgins, toppy twinks, strippers, cops and Las Vegas will find plenty to like in this story.

I love, love, love this series!

Dakota and Reed were one of the loveliest couples so far, and overall just wonderful characters. Dokata especially is such a sweetheart, and I loved how he cared for his younger brother, who we didn't see as much of as I would have liked. And that coming from someone who doesn't like a lot of family drama! =D I'm just curious how it will work out for them in the future. Hope you'll bring them back again at some point.

Reed was fun too, great guy!! Loved how he cared for Dakota.
Ah. They just had that beautiful, brilliant chemistry I live for :)

Thank you, Morticia!
I had a blast with your guys, as always.

Sadly this was not one of my favourites from this author. I didn't feel a connection with either character and just felt like the story had a stilted flow. Too many things going on in a short book makes it choppy and rushed. 2.5 stars this time

Dakota is a dancer who wants to become an aerial dancer instead of a stripper. Reed is a bisexual Patrol Officer who shares custody of his daughter with his wife. When these two meet, the attraction is instantaneous. Strip Search is the seventh book in the Sin City Uniforms series but you don’t necessarily have to have read any of the others.

There is a lot that goes on in this book. You have Dakota’s ex-boss, new jobs, missing brothers, family life/tension, and not forgetting a custody battle. It is a fast-paced story with insta-lust/love between our two main characters. There is little to no angst between the two of them. All the angst is caused by circumstances going on around them, rather than them themselves.

I have enjoyed every book I’ve ever read by Morticia Knight but this one is not one I would read again. Part of the problem for me is that it is the next in the series after a brilliant read. Searching for Shelter was the best book in the series and then Strip Search followed it and it just didn’t hit the same buttons. Although I am a fan of epilogues this one felt like it was a way to give the reader answers without having to go into too much detail. Just accept and it’s done.

This is still a great series and I loved reading about how other characters were getting on in their lives. I enjoyed Reed and Dakota’s story but just not as much. I still have no hesitation in recommending it though!

Reed had the need to protect in his blood, Dakota was living the worst periods of his life with no one to help him...ad to the mix a dash of insta-attraction and a providential meeting or two, and these guys had for themselves a perfect match made in heaven.

The buildup of their relationship happened during days full of fear and worry, balanced with time to connection emotionally and discover each other sexually. It might of felt a bit rushed, but I liked Reed and Dakota as a couple, the way they just clicked together...they definitely deserved their happily ever after.

4.75/5 stars...

Reed has his hands full with his job as a patrol officer for LVPD and weekends with his teenage daughter, too full for a love life that's for sure. That is until Dakota walks into his life while looking for his younger brother that has runaway from their abusive father. Dakota has a lot on his plate as well. Dance classes fueling his dream of being a professional dancer, a boss that is a little too hands on, if you get my meaning, and of course, his little brother. The attraction is immediate, intense and mutual. Dakota feels comfortable and safe with Reed, while Reed feels very protective of Dakota. Not long after they meet the two are sharing a bed, quickly after a home, and even faster each other's troubles. Including Dakota's ex-boss that thinks No means Yes and feels that he has a claim on the young dancer, regardless of his relationship with Reed.

I had one teensy little issue with the story, the insta-love aspect. It was conveyed well with Reed having only ever been with the one guy, his ex Mark. The there was the issue with his ex-wife and comments she would make, again explained well due to the fact that she feels Reed isn't Bi, he is gay and wasn't honest with her. That coupled with Dakota being younger and somewhat impressionable, Reed sort of being this knight in shining armor kind of guy for him. The relationship moved extremely fast though.

Overall I still quite liked this book, but of course, it's Morticia Knight one of my favorite Authors. I really like the way she can write stories about varying aged characters and make each and every one relatable and believable. She has the teenage angst down, Reed's daughter when they were camping cracked me up. The older, protective, adoring side of Reed and the confused, but loyal part of Dakota that just wants to dance, be in love and loved, and take care of his little brother. Definitely worth a read. While the story can be read as a stand alone book, reading the series in order should probably be considered so you will quickly recognize key characters from the other books.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

I am loving this series - and this one is another winner. As the net widens in Ms Knight's series, we get glimpses of previous couples as their lives intersect with the new leads.

Here another police officer, Reed, who was married for many years and has a teenage daughter, finds a man that pushes all his buttons. Embarking on this new relationship, in spite of many issues is a journey of faith, but plays out beautifully for them both. There are inequalities in the relationship, yet Ms Knight has balanced them very carefully, and gives us a story which is moving, touching and incredibly hot. As I have read the rest of the series, I did trust that I knew the people would come to help, that it had to play out right, and that I would get my desired ending. I was not disappointed.

If you have not read this series yet, then why not? I do recommend that you start at book 1 - but if this appeals to you, then read it first and go back and find out about the other characters who pop up here too.

I am all for insta love but this one wasn’t hitting all my buttons, so it was just ok for me. There was so much angst with Dakota’s ex-boss that I think that seemed to be the focus when I wanted more Reed and Dakota. I liked how Dakota knew what he wanted with Reed and went after it. I also wanted more about Dakota and his brother, we got some of that in the epilogue but I wanted more in the book and I wanted to see Dakota and Reed’s daughter interact which we don’t see until the epilogue either. It was an ok book and if you have read the entire series I am sure you will want to read it, it just wasn’t one of the better ones in the series in my opinion.
Characters: well written and easy to relate to
Sex: yes
Religious: no
Would I recommend to others: yes
More than one book in the series: yes
Genre: M/M/Romance
Would I read more by this author: yes

Strip Search is the seventh book in the ‘Sin City Uniforms’ series. It stars Dakota, a dancer at a strip club, and Reed, a Vegas patrol officer. This is told in third person from Dakota and Reed’s povs.

First the cover. I like it. It’s much better than the two previous covers. The current blond model fits Dakota’s looks well.

The blurb does a good job of outlining the basic plot. This has insta-lust and age-gap tropes. Dakota and Reed fall in love very quickly. In a couple days they are hooked on each other and by the end of the book they’re in love. I’m not sure how much time passed in the story, not including the epilogue, but it felt like a week, maybe two at the very most. Dakota moves in with Reed within a couple days so Reed can keep him safe from the crazy ex-boss, so this could be considered a mild forced proximity trope also. There are some returning characters from previous books but they don't have long scenes.

The author did a good job creating distinct voices and characters. At first Dakota was stressed and panicked because of his creepy boss, and when Dakota found out his brother had run away. The author wrote Dakota’s fear for his brother well. Dakota’s voice did change however when he wasn’t worried, when he was around Reed, and when they had sex. Dakota was more dominant, and knew what he wanted. I don’t feel like Reed came across well. It felt more like this story was about Dakota and Reed was there for Dakota’s story to revolve around. Reed felt protective towards Dakota as soon as they met because Dakota was frantic to find his brother. Reed was also a by-the-book cop. Other than that, I didn’t get a good voice or background on Reed. Dakota’s brother’s voice was distinct, the typical snarky, know-it-all little brother.

The first half of the book was the most interesting for me. There was more action, people interaction, and plot. The second half had two quite lengthy sex scenes, which frankly, went on too long. I can’t remember exactly, but Reed was possibly a virgin in some way, either never had sex with a man, or he never bottomed.

I liked Dakota, he was fleshed out well, Reed was more ambiguous. I liked the first half of the plot. There was too much sex in the second half of the book which took away from the story. Therefore, I give Strip Search, 3 Stars.

A Story of Danger, Attraction, and Tender Love
Strip Search is a refreshing, easy-to-read, well-written, captivating romance that kept my attention until the last page. M. Knight skillfully created a distinction from the recycled storyline of age-gap and opposites-attract, adding a layer of suspense and emotional depth. Reed's relationship with his ex-wife and his journey of self-discovery, combined with Dakota's controversial occupation, dangerous workplace, and family circumstances, transform the story into an exciting and immersive read.
This novel is a balanced combination of tender love, deep passion, and tension.
Reed and Dakota are charming yet complex, emotionally rounded, and relatable characters based on profound insight into their feelings and thoughts. Despite their flaws and insecurities, it is impossible to resist rooting for their happy ending.
Reed is a calm, level-headed cop, divorced, and a father to a teenage daughter. Dakota is much younger, troubled by his family situation, passionate about dancing, and determined to escape his boss Yuri's unwanted advances. They meet after Dakota's younger brother runs away from home, and their instant attraction quickly develops into irresistible passion and love. Reed's protectiveness and Dakota's willingness to trust him are heartwarming.
I enjoyed this book and recommend it for its charming characters, refreshing storyline, eloquent writing, dynamic narrative, and third-person POV.
What to expect:
* Opposites-attract, easy-to-read romance
* Charming and well-rounded characters
* A captivating and dynamic page-turner
* Moderate tension and angst
* No cliffhanger
What not to expect:
* Dark and overbearing drama
* High angst, tension, or violence
* Complex, heart-wrenching issues and emotions

These two are perfect for one another
I’ve got to say Dakota has a lot going on in his life. He is a dancer at glitter boys to pay the bills and save up to do some training because he wants to be an aerial artist. But the owner Yuri Wants to go to for himself and it’s making life very difficult. And to make matters even worse. He’s 13. Your brother has run away from home due to his dad being abusive and his mum put up with it.
When Dakota went to the LBGTQ teen shelter to see if his brother was there there was police tape everywhere. He met a patrol officer Reed and was sexually attracted straight away. When Dakota is then attacked outside a club by Yuri it’s officer Reed that comes to his rescue. And before he knows it, he’s meeting up with Reed at a diner.
Reed is a patrol officer on the strip and he hasn’t been attracted to anyone in a long while. He is a divorced single parent And his mates want to take him out to meet a woman. The guys don’t know that he’s bisexual. he’s not ashamed of it but he doesn’t feel the need to share his personal information. But when he meets Dakota, he feels an attraction it’s so deep, he knows he needs to see him again. But can Reed keep Dakota safe??
I’ve got to say I absolutely adored the coater. He has just got this out their personality. That is infectious. And Reese is the perfect partner for him to be read once to support protect and not that time. Dakota needed that. The sexual attraction is off the charts. But what they gained very quickly was a connection. I’ve got to say I really enjoyed this read.

'Dakota gave Reed a toe bump. “I know I’m a pushy bitch. But I wouldn’t push anyone into something they didn’t want. I’m not like that, but I do like you. A lot.”
Reed nodded before lifting his eyes. “I feel the same about you.” He chuckled. “It was instant, bam. Never happened like that before.”'

I loved this book. Great world building and I was pretty much instantly hooked. I absolutely loved both Dakota and Reed. They made such a great match. They had chemistry from the moment they met despite the chaos of the situation. There's a lot going on in this book for these guys- more so for Dakota who's dealing with a dangerous creepy ex-boss who won't take no for an answer, being followed and threatened from another job, as well as searching for his missing thirteen-year-old brother who ran away from home from their abusive alcoholic father. Their mother was also a piece of work who claimed to care, but refused to leave her husband or do anything to protect her younger son, and not highly valuing Dakota both for being gay and dancing in a strip club- even though he dreams of being an aerialist and is struggling to make enough money to pay for schooling. I loved how kind, considerate, and understanding Reed was. Based on his policework, you could see he has a good heart. I loved the way their relationship developed and couldn't wait to see how everything would turn out. 5 stars.

This is book 7 in the Sin City Uniforms series. It can be read as a standalone. This is the story of Dakota and Reed. Dakota is a trained dancer who works at a strip club. He is doing this to save money to put towards the necessary training need to make his dream come true. He wants to be an aerialist. Except for the club owner who has been creepily trying to own Dakota and his boss who is trying to get him to make porn; his life is going okay. Reed is a divorced, single father that is bi-sexual. He is also a caring police officer who genuinely cares for people. He is willing to bend the rules for the betterment of the people he serves. Dakota's home life was hell and his mom informs him that his brother is missing. Dakota's life goes into a tailspin as he tries to track his brother down. He is prepared to step up and keep his brother with him once he finally finds him. Dakota and Reed meet while Dakota is trying to find him. While there is an instant attraction between them, they focus on the problem at hand. Of course, fate makes their paths intersect again. This is their story. I enjoyed this book. It is well written and easy to read. I liked how they brought out the best in each other.

Review for (Sin City Uniforms-7) Strip Search by Morticia Knight

Dakota hated working at Glitter Boys as a stripper. If working there wasn't bad enough, his boss won't leave him alone. He not only wanted Dakota as his own, but he also wanted Dakota to do some pore that he films. Dakota knows he can't stay there much longer, but he needs the money he makes for him to be able to pay for his dance lessons. If that wasn't bad enough, his baby brother has run away from their abusive father that his mother will not leave. In comes Patrol Officer Reed. They meet in an unusual way. Reed is trying to help with a stabbing at the LGBTQ youth center. When Reed sees Dakota for the first time, it blows him away. He is drawn to help this beautiful boy. As time goes on, Reed and Dakota get closer and closer. Will they find Dakota's younger brother before something bad happens? Will he be able to help read with his ex-boss stalking him before it is too late?

Wow, I loved this story. I love the heated attraction Dakota and Reed feel for each other. Then add in the suspense of the story. Yum, just yum. Morticia Knight is an auto buy for me, along with her other author name she writes under. I can't wait to see what's next.

Dakota strips at a dance club where the owner, Yuri, wants him to move into doing porn films. Dakota has dreams of being an aerialist in one of the shows on the Strip so he declines. He also has a 13-year-old brother who has run away from home and of whom he wants to get custody. He is attacked by Yuri on the street and it is called in as an attack by some bystanders. That is when he meets Reed, a cop who begins to help him with his brother and Yuri. Will Reed's assistance help Dakota? Will Dakota be free of Yuri?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Dakota. He was over the top but he was sincere. I liked Reed's steady presence. Dakota needed that. Reed is working out his sexuality when Dakota comes into his life but the attraction between them is real and hot. Both discover things about themselves as well as each other. Other relationships are also looked at through the book. I loved that Dakota's brother pressed him to answer questions as did Reed's daughter. It made them feel as though they were a family working together to be successful.

I look forward to more in this series.

In the minds of some there is no line between being a dancer and a stripper. Others are thankfully more open-minded and that is exactly what we find in Strip Search - some people with open minds, prepared to listen, care and love.

Dakota has danced since his about 4 years old, ballet, tap, street... He has done every form of dance there is, dedicated his heart and soul to it, to his dream of becoming an aerialist, a dancer in some of the top Vegas shows, but to get there is a challenge. He needs to save money, for the pro aerial dance classes he wants to take, and for rent and of course to make ends meet. Having moved out of home now he is old enough and to escape his abusive father there is rent too. Glitter Boys is a means to an end though he can't deny he loves to dance there he hates the owner-manager Yuri who comes close to abusing him at various points through the book. Yuri is a shady character, obsessed with Dakota and determined to have him, for his pron shows and ultimately for himself.

But Dakota knows he can do better, wants to do better and when his brother runs away from home all he wants to do is find the young boy. At his wits end he tries a shelter only to arrive during an incident, a stabbing. Fearing his brother was in there, could have been a victim he is taken under the wing of Patrol Officer Reed who is at the scene. When they go inside relief that Donny is not there and is not the victim, plus the sight of blood on someone whose arm was caught in the fray are all too much and he faints. Into Reed's arms.

Days pass. No Donny. Dakota thinks he may have found another job only to be suddenly sacked for no reason. But there is a reason. Yuri has found him, attempts to attack him, the police are called and Patrol Officer Reed is there again, saving Dakota and finding himself irresistably drawn to the younger man though he is only in his early 30s to Dakota's early 20s he is a divorced father of a teenage girl. He is also, finally, telling himself the truth about his bi-sexuality which is allowing him to admit his attraction to Dakota and to act on it.

What follows is angsty: the pair are still having to dodge Yuri whilst trying to find something to pin him with that will get him behind bars. They are searching for Donny, to find him and then have to battle with the care system and they are finding out if their instant attraction, their growing love, is the real thing. Believe me, the way that Morticia Knight describes their interactions, their encounters, Dakota's infinite patience, charm, desire for the hot and hunky Reed, it is all real, deeply real. Reed feels the same way towards Dakota who is opening his eyes to so much and their love grows despite the world around them trying to put up hurdles.

You probably realise that with Donny found and the two men realising what they have is real, there is a HEA but it is not one without incident and we are kept on our toes with this story, it is superbly paced, captivating, sexy, hot, funny, cute and simply oh so very, very good.

Yuri has found him, attempts to attack him, the police are called and Patrol Officer Reed is there again, saving Dakota and finding himself irresistibly drawn to the younger man though he is only in his early 30s to Dakota's early 20s, is divorced and father of a teenage girl.

Don't you just LOOOOVE this cover? (Swoons) I fell in love with Dakota right away. I liked Reed too but for some reason, I liked Dakota better. This is book seven but don't let that stop you from reading this one now. I followed along just fine and haven't read in order.
The characters are intriguing, there are two plots, one Dakota trying to escape his ex-boss Yuri, the other Dakota trying to find and get custody of his younger brother that has runaway. Then we have the budding romance between Dakota and Reed who meet when Dakota approaches the youth shelter to look for Donny and meets Reed there.
The romance is sweet and spicy with some witt tossed in.
I will say since Reed is a father with weekends with his daughter I would have liked to have seen more of her and the end got just a tad bit rushed into an epilogue I would have read several more chapters.
If you like Police detectives, strippers, fast-developing romances, virgins, bisexual, toppy twinks and a sweet but hot romance this is for you.

I loved this series! The story of Reed and Dakota is filled with love, danger, new beginnings and is an absolute must read! They meet when Dakota goes searching for his missing brother. The spark between them is immediate and it isn’t long until they are spending time together. Dakota is trying to avoid his ex boss after leaving his job when the boss wants more than Dakota is willing to give. Reed is there to protect and support him and I love how patient he is as Dakota deals with it all. There is a bit of a bump when Dakota is in serious danger from his ex boss but Reed will show up in time to save him. Reed is there through all the hassle of Dakota taking guardianship of his younger brother and I love how their story turns out. I am sad this series is over but can’t wait to read what Morticia comes up with next!.

Dakota is a really good guy who is in a tough situation financially but willing to work hard to do what he can to work his way forward. He finds himself working for a horrible guy who wants to get a little to up close and personal and his little brother goes missing and he is trying to do his best by his brother. While searching for his brother he meets Reed and that is when things start looking up for him. Reed is a good guy who is protective - Dakota will need this when he quits and his ex-boss comes looking. Reed is exploring parts of himself that he has not in a while and Dakota sparks interest in him. They would not be a pair you would expect to find together but they really do work well together and their blended family is unique and a work in progress. Still at the core is a pair of guys who find love and commit to one another.

Sweet! Dakota has goals and dreams for his life. He works as an exotic dance hoping to save enough money to achieve those goals. He has a harrassing boss, Yuri, an abusive Father and a pre teen brother, Donny who runs away to get away from Dad. Officer Reed, is divorced and shares joint custody of his daughter, Kelli. Reed and Dakota meet while trying to deal with his runaway brother and feel an attraction. Dakota is dragging a bit of baggage between his Dad, his brother, his ex boss who can't seem to take no as an answer. This is a good story that has its surprises, ups, downs and a bit of conflict with the ex boss. Dakota and Reed work to form their bond exploring new realities. Good, fun, intriguing story with great characters and excellent co-worker friends. Nicely done. Great cover art! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

“Oh God. I don’t think I’ve breathed since we got here.”

This is the 7th and final book in the series, Sin City Uniforms, written by Morticia Knight. When these seven books showed up on Booksprout I read through the book blurbs to determine which one I wanted to read the most, since I wasn't sure that I had time to read all seven. And book 7 is the one I chose to read and review. If I have more time I may pick up another one since this series was good.

I know there were returning characters, from previous books in the series, but I didn't feel lost by reading this book first. I was intrigued by the storyline of a dancer/stripper/aerialist and a cop that basically becomes his lifeline when his life basically implodes.

Addicted abusive father, slimy Russian boss, runaway brother on the streets, 9 year age gap, single father, reawakened desires

I'd read this as a standalone book.
A great start with Dakota in a bit of trouble with his boss. The story progresses with both POVs included in the story. Dakota's worried about his missing 13 yrs brother, while his ex-employer has it out for him. Danger with a possessive man verses the safety of a ex-military policeman. Chemistry is there for both in the story but it didn't come across for me. Dakota goes after who he wants but he has some quirks hidden in beneath. Both MCs have a past and need there HEAs. A good finish with a bit of drama for the ending.

Dakota 22 yrs works in a club stripping that he loves, but he has an alternate goal, management not so much.
Officer Reed 31 yrs was divorced with a 13 year old daughter he co-parented.

I loved Strip Search Book 7. Dakota has too much going on. He’s trying to avoid his overly handsy boss and find his missing brother. His boss situation is very dangerous but so is his brother’s living situation. A chance meeting with Reed gives him new hope. Being a cop means Reed is used to helping people but Dakota is different, he calls to him in a way no one has before. Reed is bi but never really been with a man and Dakota opens up many new doors for him. He will do anything to help Dakota find his brother and escape his boss. I loved the storyline and the characters. Dakota is exactly what Reed needed. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

Strip Search is the seventh installment of the Sin City Uniforms series, Dakota is a dancer aspiring to become an aerial performer who faces challenges from an overbearing boss and a troubled family situation. Reed is a bisexual patrol officer with a demanding job and shared custody of his teenage daughter. Their paths cross when Dakota, searching for his runaway younger brother, meets Reed. Despite Reed's busy life and Dakota's pressing issues, they experience an immediate and intense attraction. As their relationship deepens, Reed becomes a protective figure for Dakota, who finds solace and safety in him. Their connection grows quickly, leading them to share a home and support each other through various personal struggles, including the threats from Dakota's predatory ex-boss.

This is an entertaining story. Dakota and Reed are a good couple. The two cross paths multiple times and soon begin a tentative relationship but all is not perfect. Dakota has a lot of things going on in his life but Reed is willing to help if Dakota will let him.
I enjoyed seeing the way their relationship grows and deepens. The two are good together and the love that grows between them shines through in all that they do. It was nice to see the characters grow and find their way. This book has a nice mix of angst and romance and was I pulled in right from the start.

This is a sweet spicy but very emotional read. Dakota is a stripper that's just trying to pay for his dance classes to become an aerial performer. Reed is a bisexual police officer. When Dakota is younger brother runs away from his abusive father and neglectful mother that is when he meets read while searching for his brother. Dakota is also trying to escape a bus who doesn't know how to accept the word no. I found this book to be extremely well written and I enjoyed it very much.

This is one of those reads that had an amazing premise and start that had you enthralled and needing to continue with the story. Yet when the couple begins their journey what made the first half so dang strong seemed to become an afterthought. Loved their exploration of their selves and the dynamics of the couple just wanted to see more of what was happening outside of the bedroom to truly love the story as much as I had hoped that I would. For me still worth a read but wanted the story to be stronger overall.

This was a fantastic, poignant, grab-you-by-the-feels, bittersweet, raw, gritty, intense, fascinating, slow burning, amazing, heartfelt, emotionally charged, and totally awesome story. Both Reed and Dakota have their issues, but, after a long and bumpy ride, they found what they needed in each other. I was hooked from beginning to end, and would definitely recommend getting this marvelous gem immediately.
