Returning to Earth after his Hianja adventures, Captain Paul Constantine expects to be feted as a hero. Sadly, Earth's authorities take a different view. The Captain and his beautiful alien girlfriend are again caught up in events that threaten the future of both Human and Hianja civilisations.
Often, lately, I have found GREAT sci fi books that are part of a series; only to find the second and subsequent books drag. I really thought there was a good chance, this would fall into that category. I was happy to find out that this was not the case. This book takes from the foundation laid in book one, continues the story, but does so in a totally different direction. There were a few moments that took literary license, but they did not detract from the story. Here, we had a couple of interesting characters with fun interaction and a world that kept within the realm of "it could be." I also kind of liked that, even though book one could lead one to believe Earth had become some sort of Utopia, there were still national identities that kept the world interesting.
