ASHLEY ANTOINETTE COLEMAN is one of the most successful female writers of her time. The feminine half of the popular married duo, Ashley and JaQuavis, she has co-written over 40 novels, including the bestselling Cartel series. Several of her titles have hit The New York Times bestsellers list, but she is most widely regarded for her continuing racy saga, The Prada Plan. Born in Flint, MI, she was bred with an innate street sense that she uses as motivation in her crime filled writings.

Picking up a deal with publishing powerhouse St. Martin's Press while simultaneously inking deals at Warner Brothers Studios and NBC/Universal, Ashley shows no signs of slowing down. She is currently hard at work on a new book series and two television pilots.

Ehhhhhhhh (Spoiler Alert)

So..... It was a good finale. It was rushed tho. Everything happened wayyyy too fast and things went from straight hell to heavenly too quickly. I can't help but to think she's rushing into things with Merci just like she did with Dom. Marriage is Sacred. You would think she would've learned her lesson the first time. I understand chemistry can be strong and you can feel a soul connection but these rushed marriages are just unrealistic. It killed the ending for me. Granted I was rooting for Merci but I would rather see them start off slowly.. learn each other and grow.

UPDATE: I just freakin realized that Noni & Merci were in Ethic! Alani was going to give her & Ezra baby to them to adopt!!!!

Ending was rushed. But I’m glad Noni got her HEA after all the crap she went through.

Overall, this was a good series. It was easy to get through and drama-filled. However, I would’ve been much more satisfied with the ending had Noni just saved all the love she had left for herself. For her to jump into another marriage just like she did with Dom is beyond me. Has she really learned anything? Merci is definitely a good man, but he would’ve been even better if he just let things happen the way they were suppose to. Him admiring her being independent and wanting her to heal alone, would’ve been the best ending for me. It seemed like he just loved her too much to do that though. I’m glad he didn’t want to take any of those things away from her, but how is she truly going to heal with another person? Dom has damaged this woman. She is just sooo foolish to me.

Happy Ending

I’m all about the happy endings. I’m glad that Noni and Merci were finally able to get together and all of the turmoil that she had to endure led her to her destiny.

This book took me a while to get through! I was having so many issues with Nonie I was like girl please leave that man alone he was no good and Trflin. That part was the reason why it took so long but the way everything came back full circle in this series I love ! It was about time people received their karma. Overall this book was good I want to read more about Mercy and Nonie.

I'm glad Noni stood on business & left Dom at the end of the book. She jumped a little too fast with Merci, but he definitely was her best choice. I hated the fact that she kept going back & allowing him into her space, however, the ending was very good.

Let’s clap it up for the HEA because I sure didn’t see that one coming👏🏾👏🏾

I just wish it came a little differently. Noni decision to marry Merci on a whim feels like she’s learned nothing from her first marriage.

The ending just feels rushed.

This series is great and full of life's highs and lows. Ashley Antionette never fails in her delivery of a good read! She has become my newest favorite author and I am in love. I dont like revealing too much in my reviews because I don't want to spoil it for others but you can always bet that her novels are filled with EVERYTHING. Once you get started on her books, you'll become an addict like me! Some of her series should be longer because they are so good. Love Burn is one of those series. What a beautiful ending! I wish it was more to come!

I’ve said this countless times about Ashley Antoinette’s stories—they are all the same! Oddly enough, I keep reading them. Every single story goes like this: rare beauty meets wealthy drug dealer, they fall in love, shit crumbles and chaos ensues. Sometimes there is a shocking ending that is not so happy but that’s only for that installment . . . at the wrap of every series is a damn “happy ending”. In this case, our protagonist Noni ends up in a better position than she was at the start of the story. However, her happy ending seems forced and rushed. And I don’t attribute this to the fact that this is a novella, but that this is simply the writer’s style, as I’ve seen it occur in so many of her other novels. I say all this to say, if you’ve read one Ashley Antoinette novel, you have read them all. I’m not saying this to discourage anyone from loving this author or her books, because I will certainly keep her work on my shelves. I say this to save the folks who know they can’t deal with the repetitive storyline with almost identical types of characters. Been reading this author for 12 years and I guess I’m just ready for a change of plot lines. Nonetheless, this read was quick, engaging, and full of drama.

I think I read these novellas in a full book and have been playing myself and rereading.
But, you guys don't want to hear about that.
I think this series is when Ashley started to get super melodramatic. You can be in love, cheated on, hurt, in lust and still not be this dramatic.
Noni got on my nerves. How much cheating was she going to take? Merci, Maya, and Noni's grandmother were the best characters in the whole book. Merci was above and beyond forgiving and loving.
The ending was good. I was hoping the baby was Merci's and she carried him or her to fully term.
This is a good, quick read if you don't mind the dramatics and characters being wishy washy.

1 of the best series by Ashley

I rode a rollercoaster of emotions with these 4 books. I felt everything the way Ashley described. And felt as though it were me going through it. I'm so glad Noni got her happy ending because my heart couldn't take it if she hadn't. I would definitely recommend these 4 books to anybody looking for a page turner.

Wow

Ashley you did it again. I love all of the plot twists within this story. I loved how each character's story was wrapped up in the end. This book was a great ending to a heartbreaking love story. I really liked the way you ended this story. You have a way of making us feel like a part of the story. Very emotional.

I loved them. I’m so glad Noni didn’t get back with Dom and I’m glad she found her happily ever after. I would recommend this book as a good read.

Just ok...

I think the storyline was okay but there wasn't enough substance. No I jumped into her first marriage with someone exactly like Merci and she claims to have learned her lesson but she's doing it again...that's just dumb in my opinion.

Read them all and from the beginning he had a motive and was unfaithful but her best friend was awful to play her like that then to tear down their marriage was one thing but the HIV scare was the worst and then came Merci her true soulmate

🔥 Love Burns: Book 4 by Ashley Antoinette – Chaos, Closure, and the HEA We Prayed For 🔥
Hey, hey, my favorites 😁💚. #annieethebookiee is back with another book review!

Whew. WHEW. Book 4 was a journey, y’all. I laughed, I screamed, I gasped, I side-eyed—and by the end, I was emotionally wrung out but grateful. Ashley Antoinette gave us fire, pain, betrayal, and somehow… peace.

Let’s start with the drama:
The best friend? Still the worst human. There’s no redemption for that betrayal. She fumbled the deepest bond a woman could have, and I was ready to square up on the page.

Dom? Yeah, still dusty. Still disappointing. Every scene with him had me rolling my eyes so hard I saw my past lives. 😩 He really had the nerve to act like a victim? Boy, please.

Now… the PREGNANCY?! 😳 That twist rocked me. After all the heartbreak she went through, to find out then?! Ashley really had me in emotional shambles. But the way the FMC handled it—with resilience, vulnerability, and strength? Yeah, I was proud of her. She grew. She glowed. She snapped.

And let’s talk about that ending… an actual HEA. After all the heartbreak, the lies, the betrayal—I didn’t know if we’d make it. But Ashley wrapped it up in a way that felt earned. It wasn’t just a happy ending—it was a healing one.

⭐ Rating: 5/5 – messy, emotional, powerful… and worth every page.

This series did everything. If you're not reading Love Burns yet, what are you even doing?! 📚🔥

Ashley knows how to write to the point you feel EVERY emotion, every word, that the characters feel!!
“We ran a full blood panel and you did test positive for Human Immunodeficiency Virus..”.
🥹😭 Omgggggg no Noni!!!
This shit broke me! Anddddd she’s pregnant!!!!!! How the fuck is Dom negative?! 🤬 I understand that Noni feels like nobody will ever love her, because of her status… but I truly hope she FINALLY leaves Dom. She can’t forgive him for this😥
Favorite Quotes:
“The door opened. There he stood. God’s reason for it all. Merci. He was the reason why she had to learn what loving a bad man felt like. It was necessary so that when he came into her life she could appreciate how good of a man he was.” YES!!! MERCI GET YOUR WOMAN😩😍

“We can grab a judge, jump a broom, whatever… but today is the day you’ll take my last name.” ❤️😩

“With him love didn’t hurt, it didn’t burn, it didnt deceive, or disregard. The type of love he gave her, was healing. His love renewed her, revived her, and saved her.”

What I learned: TAKE people’s actions as the truth, not the words that they continue to replay over and over. Stay true to your faith in god, even in difficult situations in your life. There is always a reason for things you experience. 🥀

I'm glad it's over.
When I think about this entire series it takes me back to my bestie (Nat) Asha & the Pandemic when We were out of work for a few months & she would host reading groups with our now-former coworkers virtually. Asha loves this series & she made us sit through the reading & summaries of the series getting more & more excited about what was occurring with the characters, all while boring tf out of the rest of us in the process.
I never really truly got into this series bc I never actually connected to the plots of the stories being told.
Back then I blamed it on having more important issues that actually effected us in the real world on why I couldn't connect. Now that the Pandemic seems to be behind us I gave this series another chance by perusing them before I gave a review & still felt the same way about it: Uninterested in the characters & their stories!
I also came to the conclusion that I wasn't that big of an Ashley Antoinette as I ONCE HAD BEEN anymore.

The story was at times romantic; but it was always challenging. The story evinces how women often prevaricate when it comes time to answer the question ‘How did I get into this situation?’. The fact is that Noni is well educated and dumb. We hear things like “Noni did nothing wrong”, “Noni did everything right”, or “Noni was brainwashed”. What I hear is “It is okay to make stupid choices, and if things go wrong you can always blame everything on the man and only pretend to take some accountability”. Eve fell prey to slick talk too, and where did that get us? Now one would think that women would have learned by now — especially the “educated” ones. | The other issue I have is how poorly these stories reflect Black America. They glorify drugs, crime, sexual immorality, and a woeful lack of curiosity about, let alone actual reverence for the Righteousness of GOD.

A Good Series

This series was definitely a rollercoaster ride. No I went through so much and loved Dom so hard that she lost herself. And Dom emotionally was ....I still don't know. All the infidelities and he still thought he had rights to Noni's heart. I'm so happy she miscarried. I know I'm wrong for that. But that child would have crippled her and she would have never left Dom's web. Merci is a stand up guy and I can't believe he stuck around. Noni dangled with his heart because she was so stuck on Dom. In the end Noni believes in herself and I'm happy she walked away from what was holding her back. I would love to see Merci and Noni's story to see where life leads them.

I liked the short series read them all back to back. I do wish it would’ve just been one book. Great story line some parts were very predictable. But all in all wonderful story. Noni took so many Ls like many women who find themselves deep in love. My heart was breaking for her. It was like she couldn’t win. I’m glad it all worked out for her because she truly deserved it. Dom deserves whatever despair he has. Maya is the definition of a true friend ! And that Merci ! I was lowkey rooting for them from when it started with them. He was just what she needed to keep her sane. I know it may have looked as betrayal from Dom side but it was his fault from jump
