In which Metal Knight has to deal with not just one, but two high threat adversaries! Monstrous threats are attacking all the major cities and the heroes are being stretched to their limits. Oh and we get to meet the direct counter point to the Hero Association. The humour is more liberal and funnier in the later chapters and not that apparent in the moan story. Overall One-Punch continues to steal the show, although Hero-Hunter is emerging as a great trash talking series villain. 7.5 out of 12, the strong Three Star rated best volume so far as the creative team continue to inadvertently maybe flesh out this reality.

Volume 11 of One-Punch Man is the most underwhelming installment of this ongoing manga series. I understand that ONE further expands Saitama's world by introducing the realm of martial arts (that turns out to be a separate "group" like the Hero Association) through the martial arts tournament and the Monster Association that has just recently launched simultaneous attacks in multiple cities, but the charming protagonist, Saitama should still be given those sweet, funny moments. Volume 11 doesn't have any of that, save for that very short round in the tournament.

This eleventh volume delves more into the character of another Class S hero Metal Bat, a bat-wielding punk hero (reminds me of Yuyu Hakusho's Kuwabara) who is also a very sweet brother to his little sister. Metal Bat sure is interesting, but I feel that his character development is a bit off compared with his peers.

Metal Bat sure is interesting an interesting character, but I feel that his character development is a bit off compared with his peers.

The book lacks focus, which most of the time centered on Saitama. The world-expanding route the author is taking now is a risk that might lose a significant number of readers, but if done correctly, may ultimately lead to a satisfying arc conclusion.

This was the weakest volume so far in my opinion. Saitama is just on a goofy side quest while tons of random heroes get bombarded by tons of random villains that suddenly pop up out of nowhere. It was a bit of a mess.

I also felt uncomfortable about Monster Princess Super S. In a series that is mostly kid friendly, it’s odd to have a hypersexualized character wearing leather lingerie (with extreme detail drawn onto the lingerie).

The saving grace for this volume was the bonus stories. They were really fun and they were better than the main storyline in this volume.

I really hope that volume 12 gets Saitama connected back to the main plot line because I’m worried that I’m falling out of love with this series with his little weird side quest.

While Metal Bat’s fight with Garu was rather good... and the end was fantastic... I really prefer the tournament. I guess I’m just an old fan of Dragon Ball Z with all that kind of hi-jinx. But One-Punch Man?

It’s SUBVERSIVE. It still manages to make fun of the entire manga industry at every single step, AND It holds its own without satire.

Perfection.

Metal Bat is the main attraction in this volume, and he definitely gets enough spotlight to showcase more of his skill set. It was fun and interesting to see what he was capable of and to finally run into the little girl that he cares for with all his heart. The rest of the volume is a bit more shaky and very weak compared to the whole run so far. It really felt like there was an intention to push some little ideas a bit further without giving too much of anything good.

I really wanted to see the martial arts competition in all its glory, but that didn't happen.

I really wanted to see Garou face someone significantly powerful, but that didn't happen.

At least we find out that Saitama isn't much of a team player, even though it's really just him not understanding the benefits of a team just yet.

Still look forward to the next volume though. This is a series that is simply too good to ever quit on.

Weakest volume so far. Hope this ain’t going downhill.

What’s it about?
That is something I couldn’t explain without spoiling the previous volumes so I’m gonna skip that.

Pros:
The story is fun and while not the most gripping story in comics it is something that will keep readers interested.
The characters are still interesting. One that is particularly interesting is a new villain that is revealed. At first she looked like a gratuitous fan service character based on her costume (imagine a Dynamite Entertainment character who’s into bondage, that’s what the costume design is like) but when you find out about her powers and twisted personality (perfect for a villain) she’s quite interesting so I look forward to reading more about this character in later volumes.
The artwork is fantastic! I read a lot of manga and will confirm: this and Berserk are the 2 manga titles with the best art (at least out of the ones I’ve read).
This volume has nearly nonstop action so I was pleased and excited by that!

Cons:
This volume has some stuff in it that is kinda goofy even for this series. Not a major problem but it did kind of cross that line of goofiness for my taste.
This volume is not as funny as I expected it to be. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few chuckle worthy moments but it didn’t have me laughing like hell which this series usually does.
This series is beginning to be more predictable. I know that sounds like a kinda stupid complaint for this series but it often takes some unexpected turns... it doesn’t seem to do that as much anymore.
There’s a problem I had with the “bonus” chapters in this volume as well as the previous one. Well they are fun (hell my favorite part of volume 10 is one of the bonus chapters) it makes no sense with the things currently happening in the main story so it does slightly bother me.
There’s one scene that is continued from a scene on the back cover. It wasn’t too much of a pain since I was reading the paperback with a bookmark though still a bit weird having to look at the back cover and then at the book again and I’m sure it was a bit of a pain in the ass for digital readers.

Overall:
Not bad but definitely the weakest volume so far. I wasn’t sure if I was going to give this volume 3 stars or 4 stars, I’m going with 3 because while it is a fun little book it is not nearly as good as the previous volumes so overall a disappointment.
I don’t want that to discourage people from reading this series because it is a great series but this particular volume is weak.

3/5

I hadn't expected this one to pop up already. :P But boy, I am happy that it did, because I wanted to continue reading and seeing how everything would turn out.

And it turned out to be super-chaotic. That is why I am rating this a 3.5 stars. It had good battles (not only with the monsters vs the humans/heroes, but also with Saitama/Charanko's competition), it had a few hilarious scenes spread here and there (like the whole Zoomen stuff, I just laughed so hard when Saitama said he found the pink one sexy, and how, when he got a team assignment, he tried to get his team to go for colour/coded names and also a team name), the story also moved along. But yeah, suddenly we have all sorts of monsters in various classifications, suddenly there is chaos everywhere, suddenly attacks everywhere, and in the mean time we only see other heroes get their butt kicked, and we don't see Saitama. He only gets into the spotlight during the Zoomen parts, and also when he is participating in the tournament (that the tournament isn't cancelled is a miracle I guess).

I was happy to see other heroes get the spotlight, but hey, I still read this one because I think Saitama is utterly brilliant. And thus I want to see more of him.

Plus I am getting slightly tired of that Hero Hunter stuff. He is just so annoying, and I wish Saitama would just pass by again (like he did in an earlier volume) and knock him out again. Go go Saitama!

I kind of miss that, a big foe, or foes appear, and Saitama just knocks them out in one punch. It was also the best part, as it also meant the battles wouldn't take long (and I still hate endless battles).

1 plus point goes to the first pages (the swimming pool spread). I just loved seeking out the heroes, see what they are doing (one of them is clogging/and potentially breaking the slide, Saitama is having a brainfreeze). It was definitely a fun addition, and I wouldn't mind a fun short story to go with it.

The art is still utterly brilliant, I am a big fan of the 2-page spreads that happen when battles get hot and heavy.

All in all, still a good volume, but just a bit too chaotic and all over the place for me.

Meh, suddenly there are way too many storylines here. All these other fights are messing with the timeline of our hero. It feels like someone ran out of ideas and is just padding the story. Then instead of just continuing the main story we get "Bonus" material. I want to shout "Pick a Lane!" or pick a storyline. The Metal Bat fight and the fighting tournament are all that kept me from skipping this volume.

Banyak hal terjadi dalam satu volume. Masih bikin penasaran.

Ah, cerita tambahan setiap volume bikin cerita utama semakin berkurang. Jadi gantung deh.
Eh, tapi cerita sampingannya seru dan lucu juga sih.

Three because I didn’t like where the manga was going with the tournament and all the monsters and no Saitama(not really); but four for Metal Bat haha because I love him and his action packed panels. So 3? 3.5? Or a 4? Still can’t decide. I might change it again.

The tournament thing is cliche in shounen manga, and so I wasn’t too excited about it. I liked how since Saitama was busy with the tournament, all the monsters easily ran amuck. He could have easily taken them out if he was just not at the tournament and out there.lol I felt the other heroes in the tournament should be out fighting the monsters, too— not in the stupid tournament! But I’m not the author. lol Let’s see where this goes.

I’m so glad Metal Bat got screen time, he’s quickly becoming one of my favorite characters ! I love how badass and aggressive he is but when it comes to his sister he just melts and becomes a total softie and it’s so adorable 🥰

I’m also really liking his new character design! Tbh he looked like walmart John Travolta before so I’m glad Murata gave him a glow up. He kinda looks like a mix of Josuke and Yusuke now

Also the fact that he’s SEVENTEEN just blows my mind

Really good, the metal bat fight was really exciting, I’m really enjoying this series, it definitely has its ups and downs but it’s the first time where I felt bonus mangas actually pushed the story and characters a bit.

That huge centipede is a real pain. Real ugly, too.

Metal Bat's ability is somewhat useful also. Although it takes lots stamina for that.

OMG Saitama is gonna fight wohooo..... His face always made me smile. LOL, So adorable...

Omg I love it. Genos is so supportive to his master. What a really cute relationship!! <3

The way Saitama tied his belt is extremely so cute! LOL...

BURNN!! Saitama's words are hilarious!! He is enjoying his match while the world is in chaos. LOL.

Not to mention, Saitama looks good with the wig. But I like when he's bald...

A funny convo:
Announcer: Zakko's invited his sweetheart here to propose but now he can kiss his hopes goodbye!!
Saitama: Ooops. That's too bad...
Announcer: I'm receiving new information!! Let's see here... His sweetheart didn't even come! So she missed his moment of shame!
Saitama: Oh that's good.
LOLLLLLLLLLL

King and Saitama's moments are funny. They are cute together playing video games. Also, King is good with anime, but he still sucks at fighting. He is just too normal but his facial expression is really useful.

A HILARIOUS CONVERSATION:
King: Mister Genos, are you interested in superhero teams?
Genos: No. They are for the weak.
LOLLL, he is always so savage. LOL!!!

WTh this person who said "And Class B Rank 7, Bald Cape I called you in to make it an even five."
SCREW YOU TO DEATH YOU ASSHOLES!!!!

I hate how those weaklings treat Saitama and since Saitama is just a really good person he just don't say anything bad about them. They even fucking left him. Talk about freaking teamwork.

Yes Saitama, never team up with them again.

I don't wanna laugh that those bastards are defeated but I can't help it. They deserve it. Yes just work alone.

Also, Metal Bat and his sister is so cute together..

Well after reading the books and watching the show first things first i the the show was way better but now to get back on track. This is towards the end also known as the best part too. But I will give you some background info on one punch man, first things first his real name is Saitama who is a hero for fun.

His hero name is one punch man I am pretty sure you could guess why he is called that given by the name. He himself can not even explain his immense amount of strength and energy. When he was younger he wanted to grow up to be a hero who could beat everyone in one punch, he even trained so hard that he went bald. He believes the reason that he became that strong is because everyday for 3 years he went with no a/c, eating healthy, 100 push-ups, sit ups, body squats, and a 10km run. That is just background info.

WARNING!!!!! SPOILERS UP AHEAD!!!!!!

Well a way to explain this story is well it could never happen in real life and it is almost hard to explain the idea of this story/series but, it can be done. The idea I think behind this all is if you are going to do something and have a dream the strive hard to do it or get it even if you get knocked down get back up and keep going. Saitama wanted to become a hero destroy villains in a single punch and he explained what he went through to get to the point he is at. But you also must be careful what you wish for at the same time because even though Saitama became the strongest he can not have fun when he fights villains anymore because all it takes is one punch.

The setting for this particular manga of the series is in a city called City A all of the other city's (B-Z) are not mentioned in this part. The weather is beautiful there are almost no clouds in the sky it is around noon and City A still is standing.

The protagonists of this part are Saitama and Genos his student is a cyborg and yet ironically Genos is ranked as a higher level hero in the hero association because he aced the written part of the test as well as the physical test as well putting him at an S rank hero the highest rank possible. All while Saitama failed the written exam yet when he took the physical exam the people said it was as if a god resided in Saitama's body yet only putting him at a C rank hero the lowest rank.

The antagonists of this part in particular part is a whole army of aliens that show up out of nowhere while truthfully Saitama is the only one strong enough to defeat them. The two most dangerous aliens out of the whole aircraft which holds thousands of aliens are Guganshoop who has psychic powers and Boros, who is the aliens leader who is super strong and can rapidly heal/regenerate himself when Boros came here because of a prophecy that he would get to fight an opponent that is worthy of his strength.

The conflict is that Boros is looking for a worthy opponent on planet earth that will give him a challenge in a fight with someone.

The rising action begins when the aliens first arrive the battle begins almost immediately because as soon as the aliens pull up they shoot some artillery and completely destroys City A. Everything is wiped out except for the hero association and Saitama goes out to investigate and sees the ship and immediately jumps from the building up all the way on the ship and starts killing aliens left and right to try and bring out the boss all while looking for the control room at the same time. When he finally finds the control room for the ship then he finally found Guganshoop who begins to try and fight Saitama.

Climax, the fight starts and Guganshoop uses one of his strongest moves and puts the gravitational pull of a black hole on Saitama and it doesn't even phase him. So Saitama picks up a pebble and flicks it right through Guganshoops skull killing him instantly. Finally Saitama finds Boros and obliterates his supposedly unbreakable power restraining armor in a baby punch. Boros powers up and begins to fight Saitama and thinks that he is winning when all of a sudden Saitama says "wow you are strong" and throws a normal punch and blows Boros's right arm. Boros powers up to the maximum and transforms he takes of hits Saitama around a little bit and flying knees Saitama all the way up to the moon. So Saitama holds his breathe grabs a souvenir and jumps from the moon to the earth in 1 or 2 seconds.

So Saitama uses one of his moves that he calls normal consecutive punches and blows Boros into a puddle of blood all except for his one eye he somehow pulls himself back together and sets up to use his final move. Which will kill himself but should kill Saitama and the earth as well so he flys up charges the shot and shoots it and Saitama takes one step back and doesnt even us his final move but just a serious punch which kills Boros and spreads an enormous pathof clouds out of the way across half of the planet from just the sheer force.

Boros isn't completely dead but is about to and tells Saitama that he is truly too strong and says that he was holding a lot back while Boros didn't even stand a chance. And since Saitama killed Boros he broke the power sphere in the ship causing the ship to crash making Saitama the earths savior for the 12th time. Of course everyone thinks that it is just the S class hero's when it is just one man... Saitama.

There are only a few secondary characters in this part there is the three hero's Kid Prodigy, Genos, and Tornado who has psychic powers too. The whole time she was just shooting ruble from the destroyed city at the ship before Saitama destroyed it but she wasn't doing hardly any damage the whole time but oh well at least Saitama was there.

There is only like one quote that i would call memorable it was when Saitama said "I truly worked hard to get to where I am today even when I thought it could all end and even when my body wouldn't work for a while I still pushed through and made it work to get to where I am now.".

Overall I think this was five out of five because I love fighting and action genre stuff which is exactly what this was full of. Just the sheer amount of power that Saitama has just fascinates me and I can not wait for the second season of the manga and show to come out next year.

This volume was chaotic with all the storylines going on. It's almost like the author wanted to tell one story about Saitama in a martial arts tournament but the higher ups were like you've got to keep using all these better looking hero characters that have become popular with fans so tell this other story about all the monsters attacking. It's almost frustrating to have the relatively peaceful tournament going on while all these other cities are falling apart from monster attacks. On the other hand there wouldn't be much story if Saitama just went around punching all these monsters to death. With the introduction of the Monster Association it looks like Garo is going to be turning into an anti-hero of sorts and they'll be the big bad guys moving forward. I liked that Bang was worried about Garo turning into an actual monster if he keeps behaving this way, it does seem like many monsters are just people that do something so much that they become that thing. It makes Saitama's habit of eating his vegetable based foes a bit more disturbing... Metal Bat makes another good showing here and has some sweet moments with his sister.

This didn't really offer much to be quite frank. What I found to be quite funny and coincidental was how I recently finished reading a short story called the monkey by stephen king and this volume has one of those monkeys on the back cover. Honestly, Saitama hardly made an appearance in this one but all cities seem to be under attack by massive monsters whilst the best heroes are participating in a tournament. Nothing impressive much especially considering that they all form part of the hero association. There is now also a monster association and monsters strive to wreak as much havoc as they possibly can to climb the ranks. There is also a human who attacks superheroes for some reason. This was a rather dull read despite its quick nature and I still stand by the fact that this could seriously make good reading for when one is taking a dump. I don't see any depth and it's basically just more of the same. Rather disappointed tbh Once more, the additional manga towards the end of the volume almost had more to offer than the story itself.

Dude, Metal Bat's love for his sister is so damn cute! That bonus chapter was so sweet!

I'm pretty jazzed for this monster association business, especially since the monsters look pretty damn cool! Also, could it be? That other heroes are going to...*gasp*...prove themselves to be USEFUL?!

Okay, that was kind of a dick thing to say, but seriously I just want to see other heroes being, you know, heroes. Metal Bat got to shine and that was really dope, can we see more of this? Pretty please??

I'm not a massive fan of this book, it tends to bore with the Garo conflict. One-Punch is sidelined here for a marital arts contest that doesn't takeoff like it should. I'm all for the books mixing up support characters with main characters but this sacrifices all the time away from the one character I want to see more of. The book isn't horrible but it is a step down considering the last few books were heading somewhere interesting.
