Book 1 in The Alien Wars, this science fiction novel will tug at the heartstrings of anyone who likes a thrilling adventure about everyday people trying to survive amid the horrors of a post-apocalyptic world.
Paul Moxham hails from Melbourne, Australia. He's best known for his children's mystery series which follows Joe, Amy, Sarah, and Will as they have adventures in 1950's Britain.
Painfully idiotic cast of characters, and feels sorta like an escapist fantasy of a neckbeard. You have a billionaire with limitless resources with famous ex-wife he's still sleeping with, along with his very hot young nubile yoga instructing wife who happens to have a multi-tier plan just in case of world collapse along with all the relevant training and preparation. It goes downhill fast with unidentified objects headed towards earth that causes societal collapse just by the mere sight of them and what ensues is a slow trek out of New York to Colorado, and the inevitable mishaps.
Not all books need to be masterpieces, sometimes fast food hits the spot but this was the equivalent of an undercooked frozen patty with wilted lettuce, a smashed bun with a lone slice of pathetic American cheese.
Aliens invade, and anything that can go wrong for our lead characters does. I did reach the end, but the lack of depth to the story and the characters hasn't interested me in reading the next (or any other) book in the series. But, if all action is your thing with barely a chance to draw breath between paragraphs and chapters then give it a try.

What did I like? I have been a fan of this author for a long time but this is his first sci-fi book that I have read. What did I expect? Not what I got! An awesome, fascinating and captive read that I thoroughly enjoyed and couldn’t wait to get to book two. I fell in love with the charming Logan and was cheering for him all the way to get with his girlfriend. The drama and action did not slow down from page one to the last one.
What will you like? Fully developed characters that will entertain you all the way through and keep you thinking about them. A storyline that has all the action and adventure that you could want in a book of this type. An experienced author that knows what he is writing about and will keep the drama and adventure going with all the complete descriptive details bringing the characters and places alive in your mind. For all sci-fi readers, this is a must read. Highly recommended! I received this from the author for an honest opinion with no compensation.
A very different take on Aliens visiting earth. This book is faced paced and interesting. It has you routing for Logan and the group. How would you cope if the world went to pot, law and order broke down and you had to survive against the odds? Well I would hope i would be as strong as Logan.
I received this as a free book in exchange for an honest opinion and review. I hope all who buy the book enjoy it and I look forward to the next book. Well done Paul you wrote a good one here.
At the moment I am an avid zombie reader and wasn't sure if this book would be enough to keep me interested. However, it did manage to do just that. The beginning of the story took hold of me and kept me reading until the end. I really enjoyed the turns in the story and most of the story flowed really well, although there were a couple of parts that nearly made me think it was going to stall the flow and bore me. All in all, a good book and worth reading.
I thought it was one quite dramatic adventure and mystery story all in one ebook. I recommend this for five stars and for middle graders. I received this ebook for free and in return, here is my honest review. Great job Paul! Angela
Really enjoyed this book once I got started I couldn't put it down there was a lot of action. For anyone who likes sci fi and a fast paced read this is a must have.
