I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! It was so suspenseful! It’s amazing how great this book is. I just enjoyed this book so much. The planning, the ever-twisting plot line, and everything else. It’s just simply amazing. The judicial aspects were so interesting, and each side of the argument was really cool to hear about. I also loved to hear about each individual jury member and their difficulties with this trial. I found this book just so well written. John Grisham, thank you so much for yet another fabulous book.
Wanted to read The Runaway Jury before watching the movie, and was not disappointed! The Partner was less exciting for me, but a great double read nonetheless.
The Partner 28th June-3rd July 2013 This is my second, goodbye reading of this book. It is a very slick, well thought out book on how to comit the perfect crime. I found it hard to like the very arrogant character of Patrick. But this book doesn't rurally contain any likeable characters. I wasn't quite satisfied with the ending, but I guess everybody got what they deserved!
The Runaway Jury 3rd-17th July 2013 Again, this is my second reading of this book, but not for a very long time. On the other hand, I have watched the film version quite a few times (including a viewing about a week before the re-read). Therefore my memories of the book were quite tainted by the film, especially regarding the characters (I could only see John Cusack and Gene Hackman). I think the book is better, more substance. This read through I didn't like Nicholas Easter very much. He was rather arrogant and manipulative, (a bit above and beyond what the situation called for?). It wasn't a bad court room drama.
