Five Weeks

Rate this book
This is another true story and this time set in London, Eastbourne and America! I worked for an Estate Agent in North London and I attend a party along with my friend Steve in Islington. Then just after Steve disappears to the loo, two guys come into the kitchen where we were and dragged me across the floor punching me in the face and ripping my hair out. A few months later I'm threatened by the same guys from the party, BUT this time with a gun in my back and told if I'm seen in the area again, they will have no hesitation in using the gun. So after resigning from my job, I was invited to spend Christmas in Eastbourne with my girlfriend Jenny at her parents place . We decide to stay and move to Brighton where I was offered a job as a tele-sales manager for an American portrait company, but first must take a trip to Pennsylvania for a five week training course. FIVE WEEKS is a story of those weeks in America and where in a remote Pennsylvania woodland, I was nearly left for dead by my cocaine addict boss and his brother! If you like this book, why not take a look at my other true story, WRONG PLACE WRONG TIME where I was wrongly CHARGED for arson and manslaughter in Spain. The book has received over 290 x 5* reviews across Amazon and has been #1 in TRUE CRIME in America, Australia and #1 in BIOGRAPHY in the UK! Some reviews for FIVE WEEKS! 5* Review from America! Action Packed. Fantastic. Great Writing. 5* I'm an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction. However, it's rare for me to encounter a piece of fiction that I enjoy enough to spend the time to write a review. Good fiction, in my opinion, is engaging, reveals something important or interesting about some aspect of the human condition, and-above all-has good story-telling. Five Weeks succeeds in all of these areas. The writing is witty and highly original. Read the first chapter and you'll be hooked. 4* This is an easy to read book, about an estate agent who due to circumstances leave London. He lands a job as a tele sales manager and has to go to America for five weeks of training. The adventure starts for real then. I really enjoyed this well written novel. 5* Having read the authors first book, WRONG PLACE WRONG TIME which I loved, I had to read this and wow. This is a great story and one yet again I will recommend. My other books are all to do with book marketing for the self published author like myself. I have self published, MY WAY, MY WAY TOO and my new released MY WAY FREE, take a look at the many 4/5* reviews from authors and if you are a budding author, you may just pick up some book marketing tips. If you read any of the above books, thank you and if you can be so kind in leaving a review.

David's first book, WRONG PLACE WRONG TIME, #1 BESTSELLER across the AMAZON globe, with over ONE THOUSAND 5* reviews, has been the foundation stone for his writing career, and continues to be talked about all around the world.

This story is based on true events in 1991 when David, after leaving London, because of an unfortunate police incident, visited Marbella and ended up wrongly arrested for arson and manslaughter.

2022 is set to be an extremely exciting year for David, as WRONG PLACE WRONG TIME is being made in to a movie, backed by a powerful production team in the shape of Golden Mile Productions and No Reservations Entertainment, and including Bafta award-winning executive producer Mark Foligno, from films such as The Kings Speech and Moon. Also with a HOLLYWOOD director attached.

David's other true stories are FIVE WEEKS, a trip he made to Pennsylvania, on a training course for a new job. Having had a gun to his back in London, he leaves the country, only to end up left for dead in a Pennsylvanian wood. The producers of WRONG PLACE WRONG TIME are also very keen to turn this book into a movie.

Another true story follows David’s escapades as a 21-year-old, seeking fame and fortune in America. Entitled 24 HOURS IN NEW YORK, the clue is in the name as to the duration of his stay.

His most recent true story is entitled 13 and outlines four significant events that happened to David at the age of 13, including a near death illness, saving a friend's life, celebrating his bar mitzvah and coming awfully close to becoming the victim of someone he later discovers to be a paedophile.

Also David has written a CRIME FICTION trilogy with many readers and authors around the WORLD wanting a TV series made, which is a goal of David's. The books are titled and should be read on this order, Write To Kill, Write To Survive and Write To Live. Check out David's blog (OVER 708K page views) and read all the reviews for his CRIME FICTION trilogy!

David has also written EIGHT book, MY WAY, all about book and social media for the indie author.

I have read Dave's other book "wrong place wrong time" and throughly enjoyed it, so when I found out he'd written another book I jumped at the chance to read it.

Five weeks is equally as entertaining as wrong place wrong time, the story's about a dream job in America that turns into a five week nightmare where he's fled for dead in a Pennsylvania forest.

Dave's life would be equally as exciting if it was a prime time to show or a hit movie.

If you read one book this year make sure it's "Five Weeks"

I was surprised to discover that this was another true story from the same Author of 'Wrong Place Wrong Time', which I had read and really enjoyed. This book was no different. With its snappy writing style (which I love, by the way) I'd found it hard to put down and finished it in one sitting. It tells of how the Author, when in his twenties, goes off to America to train for a new job but things don't go quite as he had hoped. I could totally relate to his sense of adventure and felt like I was on the journey with him; often gasping, 'No'! out loud as things unfolded. To be honest, I don't think the Author realised just what danger he was in at times and it had me wanting to fight 'his corner'. The experiences he had would have been awful at the time, but the kind you would look back on and laugh about. It certainly had me chuckling in disbelief a few times. Highly recommended!

I wasn't sure how to rate this book, I think the story is good, both adventurous and amusing at times. It is the tale of the author and a friend who get into a bit of trouble as they travel. I think the story would be better without so much strong language, but all in all this quick read is well written and the situations the men find themselves in are worth reading about.

Another cracker of a story from David, and I'm looking from the next installment from his life. In particular, I enjoy his 'off-the-hip' documentary' style of writing that embeds the reader into the story with him. This creates a real page-turner - I struggled to put this book down!

I found this to be a compelling read. David has lead an interesting life to say the least and his recounting of events is extremely descriptive and interesting.
