Melanie Sue Bowles is a woman after my own heart - she doesn't pull any punches, and she's got a huge soft spot for animals. Reading her words, I feel like I know her already, and I'm sure we'd be great friends if we ever met. This book is full of a wonderful assortment of stories about the horses and the sanctuary she and her husband, Jim, provide for them, and I loved every single one. Her writing is to-the-point, thought-provoking, inspirational and packed with emotion. This is a great book for animal lovers, and anyone with a kind heart. You will be moved.

Great book, loved every minuete of it and I could'nt seem to put it down! This is the 2nd "Horses of Proud Spirit" book I have read by Melanie Sue Bowles and it is was just as good as the first or better! I cant wait to read her latest book.

I you can deal with crying with Each chapter then by all means read this book! I don't mean to make it sound sad - most of the stories are a happy end but this woman is such a kindhearted person it makes my cry.
