Sometimes a book will slip in front the 8+ books on my currently reading list and 300+ books on my want to read list and get read in a day. This book is one of them. I had tears in my eyes in the first chapter and through much of the last half of the book. Many times I had to daub my eyes in order to see well enough to read. There was no thought of stopping for lunch. I had to finish the book first.

We have had their CD Fortress of Love for over a decade now. It is such a good CD. Why have I not played it recently? It is time to play it again.

The story of the family of 12 children who sang their way into the hearts of people all over the world in defense of the family. Even the death of 3 of their younger children could not stop them, but in fact increased their faith and illuminated their message. This is a tender, thrilling account of their mission. (I have read this twice now....an inspiring pick-me-up each time....)

This true story inspires me to stand up for family love and traditional values. Very heartwarming. I recommend the Fortress of Love CD and video for a more complete look into this wonderful family.

Read this quite some time ago when it was first published and want to read it again. Heartwarming and uplifting. About an amazing family with 12 children who reached out to help others even when their own lives were being torn apart with unthinkable challenges...including the loss of three of their youngest children due to a terrible accident. A great read and a well written account by the mother of the family.

I know it helps that I know this family because I couldn't put it down today, but what a story of faith! What hit me the hardest was how forgiving Claudia was of the driver of the other car. Of course I cried through a lot of this book. It makes me realize just how special my sweet sister-in-law Aimee is!

Very Inspirational Story!
Claudia tells the story of her family's up and downs while traveling the world to promote the importance of families. Her family of 12 children is a testament of how families can be happy and remain the most important thing we can do. She gives us hope no matter what challenge we face. Her book made me cry and laugh. A must read!

An absolutely engrossing story of love, family, forgiveness, and endurance. This is the 1st time in my life I feel that I wish I could hug the author and give personal thanks to her for sharing her heart. After reading this book, I feel the balm of healing in my own soul. Beautiful story and beautiful family.

I read 'A Sacred Duty' earlier this year, about Richard Wilkins' miraculous speech at a UN Conference in defense of the family. I was excited when I started reading 'Parting the Red Sea' to hear another part of that miraculous Conference story with the Goodman family's journey to Istanbul and then amazed by the tragedy and continued miracles in their lives afterwards. I need to look up their music now! "Every Miracle is Worth the Price!"
