For some books, the 5 star rating system is just not enough. A book that captivated, inspired and brought me so much joy, that I couldn't help but stare into the ceiling after I've finished it, thinking "Man, that's beautiful... while nodding and wondering how would the world be if more people like Ove existed. It's funny, well-written and the story's just perfect. Definitely one of the best books I've read in years! <3

What a funny book! Made me laugh out loud. We all know someone who is a complete downer, and a penny-pincher to the 9th degree. Puts a smile on my face every time I think of this book. The ending will melt your heart.

Only the second book this year which deserves 6 out of 5 stars. Beautiful characterisation, people you can identify with and a main character you grow to love and begin to understand. If you haven’t read this…. Go and read it

I thought parts were slow and drawn out, but when I was crying at the end, I realized it was worth 5 stars 🥲

Meet Ove, a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him “the bitter neighbor from hell.” Behind the cranky exterior, there is a story and a sadness. So when a young couple with two young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul. All of which will change one cranky old man and a local residents’ association to their very foundations. A wonderful book that I have read a number of times.

A very funny, awesome book. This book is good for the soul. It makes like seem so simple and yet not. This book is a page turning and once I started reading I couldn't put it sown. I loved how the characters interacted with each other and they moved the story along. I hope that this author keeps on writing more books so that I have a chance to read them. This book is a good read for the young as well as the old. I love that fact that it makes older people feel important.

When I went to the library to get this book it had been checked out, so I got Britt Marie Was Here, instead, by the same author. It was fantastic and so cleverly written, that I couldn't wait to read A Man Called Ove. I enjoyed Ove - but not as much as Britt Marie.
Read them both and tell me what you think...

I did not like this story even though it came with high ratings. Over reminded me of someone I know that I don't care for. Maybe some day I can read it with more of an open mind. The author has a given talent for writing.

Anger, suspicion makes Ove a very difficult man. But, he helps those who need help! Strange, but Ove has a heart.
