Rate this book
James Pearson is a man who lives by his emotions - he has no choice since he feels everyone else's. Born with the gift of detecting and interpreting the unique energies of those around him, he must come to terms with these abilities if he has any hope of conquering them. Discovering his friend is in trouble sets off a chain-reaction. It begins with a series of nightmares; dreams in which he is saved by a woman he longs for even in his waking hours. With the support of his friends, he faces the kind of darkness he once shied away from and which he must now conquer if he has any hope of surviving.

I have been writing since I was old enough to hold a pen. As a child I wrote plays, or perhaps the better description would be performances which I acted out for my family, usually dragging my sister into the show or forcing her to act out improvised scenes from our favourite cartoons,

I also wrote short stories and started a dozen novels which unfortunately did not see the light of day. Again, I involved (read tortured) my family and friends, who proved their loyalty because those earlier tales, though an outlet for all the grand adventures playing out in my head, were, shall we say, rough around the edges!

I self-published my first novel in 2008 and I haven't looked back since. I'm fond of all the characters who take up space in my head and enjoy sharing them, hopefully providing a little of the joy they bring to me.

Family is a strong theme throughout my stories and I'm fortunate to have some excellent role models.

As well as being a writer, I'm also a British Sign Language Interpreter and a Professional Supervisor.

As a reader, I have a variety of tastes and devour just about anything I can get my hands on! I can easily be pulled into the magic of a good book, and often view characters like old friends. My favourite genres are science fiction, mystery and crime.

The Missing Link has an entertaining premise and characters. The story has elements of mystery and romance, which combined with main character James' paranormal abilities kept me picking up the tablet to see what the characters would do next.

The romance between James and Jessica was satisfying and fit in well with the mystery they worked together on. The mystery itself involved the rest of the characters in the story and had a satisfying beginning, middle, and end.

I enjoyed each of the characters and want to know more about them. The book appears to be a first in a series because it has The Gifted in parentheses behind it on Amazon, so hopefully that means I will get to learn more about them in the next book.
