About the author

Claire Plaisted grew up in the small historical town of Sandbach, Cheshire, England with two older siblings and loving parents.

At 19 she moved to the town of Colwyn Bay in North Wales and it was from here that her adventures began with her first holiday abroad on her own at age 21. New Zealand was the destination and this is where she met her husband to be and eventually moved to in 1991.

Married with four children, sadly losing their youngest child. Claire engages her time in bringing up her children along with family history research. Starting a small hobby business in 2010 to format and print Family History Books for people. It was during the formatting of one book Claire opened a word document while waiting on receiving information to finish her latest project. Her first novel was born. Though this Regency Mystery Romance novel is yet un-published Claire learnt a lot about the writing world.

Writing novels of many genre, her writing has now taken over her life during the week. With ten books published as e-books and eight as paperbacks, Claire is getting ready to publish her first Regency novel, book six of GIB and another childrens story.

I enjoyed this suspense thriller romance. The plot was great. Rosetta, Rosie for short, is sent by GIB to a small town to investigate an art theft ring. She has a shadow sent to protect her, but not by GIB. Gabriel is an unknown who has a difficult time convincing Rosie that he really is there to protect her. Mandy is sent by GIB as backup protection for Rosie. Brock is an obsessive ex-con who was rejected by Rosie and when Mandy decided to keep him from stalking Rosie the sparks fly.
I did find Brock's change from a brooding stalker of one woman to a passionate lover of another rather unrealistic. Some of the conversations not talking about the events of the main plot could be more substantial in their character development. However, with that said, the book was interesting and enjoyable. I look forward to reading more adventures from The Garrett Investigations Bureau.

The second book in the series finds Rosi on her own in her first assignment. Her goal is to discover the origins of an art theft ring operating in the area. She is excited and willing in her solo assignment...she thinks. Unknown to her she has the attention of two different men; one ordered to protect her, the other attracted to her. The story sets a fast pace with a tight plot and shows advanced character development by the author, Claire Plaisted. As it unfolds, the criminals are pinpointed and thrills abound as Rosie's determination leads her to the criminals...and two, not one, sexy men!
