Before there was The Walking Dead there was Deadworld. First published in the 1986, Deadworld is one of indie comics longest running horror series with over 100 issues and graphic novels in release and over 1,000,000 copies sold. While being considered the 'godfather' of all the zombie apocalyptic comics that followed.

Here are the beginnings of Deadworld Volume 2 and Deadworld Archives BOOK SEVEN has the first four issues. Time has moved ahead and the plan for sanctuary in the frozen north hasn’t worked out as planned. The entity of Amy is trapped but hoping to unleash herself as the remaining teens find themselves in a renegade group, unaware that Moloch has retaken the city…a city that the zombies also want. Also included is the short story “Body Art” featuring the character Tattoo and a short piece entitled “The City” which appeared in the pages of the comic Calibrations.

Deadworld Archives editions collects all of the original Deadworld comics originally released by Arrow and Caliber Comics.

"You must get this if you're even a casual fan of horror or anything zombie or undead-related. It's clear The Walking Dead took some cues from this book (some of them honestly seem like blatant rip-offs), so go support a book that got the zombie genre right first." – Comicbastards.

"Plain and simple, you need to read Deadworld, old and new, because it is at the top of my list of Horror Comic Must Read Titles. - Dying Breath 5.0 out of 5.0" – DecapitatedDan.

Now things are getting back on track. The series did a soft reboot going into Vol 2 and everything has been streamlined into one tighter storyline. The King Zombie is still searching for the gatekeeper and "Amy", who is actually a demon lord, is searching for her "true physical form", which seems to be...Joey? That part confuses me, but at least a lot of the other confusing issues have been cleared up. We have the zombies and demons vs. a group of humans who as usual have some infighting going on amongst themselves. The humans better get it together though, because if not a gateway to hell will open and the zombies will be the least of their problems. The art is also cleaner and more consistent now. Good to see this series get back on track.
