We find Bri and her zombie boyfriend Hayden who is a smart zombie or “smombie”, on the run after Bri kidnapped baby John Murphy III or Junior for short from Darlene Bobich. Who is in hot pursuit using her unique bond with her child, that works as a homing device of sorts. Darlene wants to know why they took her baby before she kills them. There is a new smart Zombie named Eve in town, she was one for the first people turned when this all happened. She has mastered her new powers and has dreams of grandeur thinking she is the smartest and strongest around and she is collecting human survivors to help build her kingdom in the old stadium. She remembers reading about Countess Bathory and thought that was the life she was meant to have. In this book Darlene struggles with what she is becoming after a small blood infusion form The Lich Lord. She is learning about her new powers and how to control them and still trying to maintain her humanity for as long as she can. She thinks about how happy her and John once were and where she and her child may settle down once she gets him back. She remembered the stories her dad had told about Beirut, the landscape, and his Marine buddies , the Jacksonville skyline looked like a war zone and triggered the memories. She couldn’t imagine the landscape when her dad told the stories back then, but now it is part of her everyday view, no matter where she is. We see some of the familiar characters like The Lich Lord, Tosha & Mathyu Shorb as well as some new favorites like Bernice and Ted’s group, and Dana from Toledo.(My current hometown.)and a little girl named Amber who Eve wants to groom into her handmaiden. For unexplained reasons all the zombies seem to be making their was south from all over the country. Hayden wants to head up north to Canada for reasons he isn’t willing to share. To find out more pick up Dying Days 6 By Armand Rosamilia. The well written and prolific Author who’s talents span across several genres.
The saga continues. Dying Days 6 moves the series forward in big ways and little ways. The evolution of the zombies continues. And Im not entirely certain I'm all in on the new part of the evolution. But, there is potential.
Of course Darlene is back and is the main driver of the plot. Dying Days 6 presents a new zombie protagonist as the story shifts slightly north in Florida for this offering. Tosha is back too, kicking harder ass than she ever has before. There is also a story arc with Bri, the girl who took something near and dear to Darlene in the last book.
The three storylines that drive the book are fun. The story is hyper focused on these characters and is more of a micrcosm of the DD worldvthan some of the previous books. The newfound "powers" the evolved zombies display really took me out of thevstory though. I get it, but im not sold on this new aspect yet.
Dispite the hiccups I precieve, I'm still all in on the series. I believe there is potential for me to rally around the idea of these new zombies going forward. This is still uniquely a Dying Days book and that alone makes it a stand out in a gluttonouscsea of zombie books in the world.
Darlene is becoming less human as she continues her search for her son. Characters from earlier books are reunited for an epic battle against Eve, another zombie who thinks she can take on the Lich Lord. This series has blood, gore and touches of Rosamilia's sarcastic sense of humour that will make you laugh out loud while zombies and humans are being dispatched. Again this book and series is a must read for any fan of the horror/zombie genre. Diving into book 7 next.
Loved this book!! Darlene is one kick ass, take names kinda girl, that I really love to read about. Her adventures, if you want to call them that, are edge of your seat, and awe inspiring. Of course Armand left me salivating for more!! Can't wait for the next part in the series. A big thank you to Armand for allowing me the honor of beta reading this!
This series is ( pun intended) to die for. Armand Rosamilia has created a world so complete the reader can practically smell it. The characters are well developed and some are downright creepy. You have to read this series if you like the zompoc genre.
Darlene is trying to searching for her baby in this next instalment. She finds others along the way to help. She also discovers her own powers and the evolving, new intelligent zombies. Great read.
Changing gears with no end in sight By Deirdre T on Amazon June 16, 2016 Book 6 picks up where 5 ends, but quickly gains speed as we learn of the changes Darlene is going thru while she searches for her kidnapped newborn. If you thought talking zombies set on world domination was bad just wait till you find out who else is evolving and what it could mean for human and zombie survivors alike. Wicked plot twist at the end that will leave anxiously waiting to see what hppens next!
So we again find Darlene in the dying days world. Her boyfriend is dead, their son kidnapped and the zombies ignore her. She has no friends as they betrayed her.
So far things aren't looking great for her.
This is a longer book than usually expected from Armand and some of the words seem to be filler like three different characters complaining about the loneliness and the threat of zombies but apart from that the dying days series is still flowing along nicely.

Once again a fun and quick read. I don't want to give anything away but I love how strong Darlene is getting. One thing I found kind of annoying and clichéd was the prologue and the apparent direction the author is taking us in his next book...Bah!
