About the author

Jason Aaron grew up in a small town in Alabama. His cousin, Gustav Hasford, who wrote the semi-autobiographical novel The Short-Timers, on which the feature film Full Metal Jacket was based, was a large influence on Aaron. Aaron decided he wanted to write comics as a child, and though his father was skeptical when Aaron informed him of this aspiration, his mother took Aaron to drug stores, where he would purchase books from spinner racks, some of which he still owns today.

Aaron's career in comics began in 2001 when he won a Marvel Comics talent search contest with an eight-page Wolverine back-up story script. The story, which was published in Wolverine #175 (June 2002), gave him the opportunity to pitch subsequent ideas to editors.

In 2006, Aaron made a blind submission to DC/Vertigo, who published his first major work, the Vietnam War story The Other Side which was nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Miniseries, and which Aaron regards as the "second time" he broke into the industry.

Following this, Vertigo asked him to pitch other ideas, which led to the series Scalped, a creator-owned series set on the fictional Prairie Rose Indian Reservation and published by DC/Vertigo.

In 2007, Aaron wrote Ripclaw: Pilot Season for Top Cow Productions. Later that year, Marvel editor Axel Alonso, who was impressed by The Other Side and Scalped, hired Aaron to write issues of Wolverine, Black Panther and eventually, an extended run on Ghost Rider that began in April 2008. His continued work on Black Panther also included a tie-in to the company-wide crossover storyline along with a "Secret Invasion" with David Lapham in 2009.

In January 2008, he signed an exclusive contract with Marvel, though it would not affect his work on Scalped. Later that July, he wrote the Penguin issue of The Joker's Asylum.

After a 4-issue stint on Wolverine in 2007, Aaron returned to the character with the ongoing series Wolverine: Weapon X, launched to coincide with the feature film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Aaron commented, "With Wolverine: Weapon X we'll be trying to mix things up like that from arc to arc, so the first arc is a typical sort of black ops story but the second arc will jump right into the middle of a completely different genre," In 2010, the series was relaunched once again as simply Wolverine. He followed this with his current run on Thor: God of Thunder.

Reread 6/3/22

Just as awesome as I remember it. Going back through these books in preparation for Thor Love and Thunder, I forgot how much Dario Agger and Roz Solomon were in here. Wonder if they will make an appearance in the movie. Probably not but we will see. Man, Russell Dauterman’ art is a sight to behold throughout these pages.



This was pretty good. Definitely enjoyed this one. It could have even scored higher with me but I had two issues. One, I thought Jane becoming Thor happened too abruptly. You turn the page and she grabs the hammer and is off busting people up. I would have liked to have seen some build up to that. Two, when Jane saw all of the Avengers trapped in ice, It would’ve been nice to see how that happened. Or at least an editors note saying we’re that took place.

On to the good stuff which was the majority of the book. It was cool seeing people’s impression of the new Thor. I also liked how no one knows who she is which will make for a nice reveal later. Odin is pissed that someone has “stolen” the hammer and puts his own plan into motion to rectify this. Roz Solomon also gets a little more shine in this volume and Dauterman’s amazing art brings it all together. Really into this run so far.

So sehr mich die Idee zunächst irritiert hat, dass Thor plötzlich eine Frau ist (richtiger muss es heißen: dass eine Frau Thor ist), war ich bald vom Konzept überzeugt.
Odins Sohn ist nach einem Ohrgeflüster plötzlich nicht mehr würdig, Mjolnir, den Hammer Thors, zu führen. Und so ergeht es ihm wie allen Aspiranten, gleichsam wie schon jenen, die sich einstmals Hoffnung auf Excalibur gemacht hatten: Der Hammer bleibt auf der Oberfläche des Mondes, und auch wenn viele es versuchen, keiner kann ihn anheben, nicht einmal Odin selbst.
Und dann findet sich doch jemand, der "würdig" ist. Das alleine wäre eines Trommelwirbels wert, doch Jason Aaron setzt noch einen drauf: Gab es bisher Thor, den Gott des Donners, so haben wir jetzt Thor, die Göttin des Donners.
Odin spuckt Gift und Galle, dass sich Thor "seinen" Hammer hat wegnehmen lassen (klingt kastratorisch, soll es wohl auch) und sendet den Destroyer aus.
Und plötzlich steht das äonenalte Patriarchat auf der Kippe: Odins Frau Freya sammelt ein Heer tapferer Kriegerinnen und stellt sich an die Seite der neuen Göttin des Donners.

Odin, der sich nicht damit abfinden will, dass in seiner Abwesenheit Entscheidungen parlamentarisch getroffen wurden und diese neumodische Sitte sofort wieder abschafft, ist hier ein machtgeiler, unvernünftiger, rachsüchtiger Patriarch, der mich gar sehr an einen bestimmten amerikanischen Präsidenten denken läßt.
Dass es ausgerechnet die Damen Göttinen sind, die aufbegehren, lässt hoffen und mich an Emma Gonzalez denken. Irgendwie, so möchte man glauben, muss doch selbst der schlimmsten bornierten Tyrannei beizukommen sein.

Schaut man auf das letzte Jahrzehnt ist es erstaunlich, wie sich die Welt des MCU verändert hat: Das Primat des WASP ist schwer erschüttert, wir finden (Super=)Helden aus allen möglichen Ethnien, sie sind schon längst nicht mehr alle hetero und die Frauen/Heldinnen sind zumeist gleichberechtigt, oft sogar überlegen.
Weiter so, Marvel!

Jason Aaron has only gotten better as he's continued writing Thor, and it's become one of my favorite ongoings at Marvel. Now, add in the mystery of the new female Thor and Russell Dauterman's INCREDIBLE art, and you've got one hell of great comic.

Really, who is this Dauterman guy? Where'd he come from? It's just as mysterious as who the lady Thor is. I looked him up after reading this because I loved his art so much, and it turns out he's really only done a couple of things before this. It's pretty wild that an artist this good just kind of sprang up out of nowhere. I'm very much looking forward to reading his other work, because this really stands out.

Anyway, the story. This volume picks up after Thor: God of Thunder, Volume 2, but I don't necessarily think you have to read that one to enjoy this one. There are some remnants of the stories told in that book (particularly the final storyline involving Roxxon), but the real driving narrative force of this comic stems from finding out just who this new Thor is. Aaron does a fantastic job building just enough mystery surrounding her to keep you guessing, while being careful not to make that mystery the only reason to keep reading about her. In Original Sin, he basically strung the reader along by having characters almost reveal secrets, then having an explosion or something interrupt them. Not so here. He just lets everyone else wonder who the hell she is, while she refuses to reveal herself.

The only real gripe I had about this is the fact that Odinson (what the former Thor is currently calling himself, since there's a new Thor in town) won't tell anyone what Nick Fury whispered to him in Original Sin to suddenly make him unworthy to wield the hammer. Since he keeps refusing to tell people what Fury said because it's "too horrible," Aaron REALLY has to pay off this secret now. It has to be huge, at this point, and I just don't think it's possible it will be satisfying based on the over-build-up.

As for the new Thor, she's great! I love that she doesn't just fight and behave like the old Thor. Since this is a newfound power for her, she treats it with awe and surprise and curiosity, managing to find new ways to use the power that even the former Thor finds impressive. It brings a joy and wonder to Thor, a comic book about space gods, that I haven't felt in a while. I'm very much looking forward to the continuing adventures of this new Thor.

This was so good! I've been meaning to check out Lady Thor for a while to see if she lived up to the hype, and she certainly does!

Story wise it carries on from hanging plot threads from the God of Thunder book, so you do have to have read first, but I'm glad to see Aaron carrying on with what he's been building. It's also good to still see Odinson in this book pretty regularly as well.

What got me most though was how nice the art was. I didn't think Dauterman would be able to follow up Ribic but he doesn't with a style that's very different and so good to look at. Also special mention to Matt Wilsons colours helping this book look gorgeous.

Jaj, mě tak štve, že před čtením tohoto komiksu prostě vím kdo je SheThor. Škoda, že jsem to nečetl v době kdy to vycházelo. Jinak co se týká komiksu a jeho příběhu, tak je to opravdu super! Nečekal jsem, že holka Thor bude fungovat a bavit mě. Konečně vím jak Thor přišel o ruku, jak se jmenuje jeho koza, a kde vzal tu černu ruku. Aaaron je fakt frajer, už se těším na další OHC.

I love the art and loved the story and really digging Jane Foster Thor but the shoe horned feminism is a bit cringey it kinda takes you out of the story because its so forced and cheesy.

This is a funny collection (and not in a good way). I still have mixed feelings about it; some of it was good, some of it not so good. The artwork is so-so; I liked some if it but felt it was missing the mark at other times. Thankfully, it was a quick read.

The character development is so-so. As much as I despised Odin when reading the comics. Aaron takes Odin to new levels of stupidity, stubbornness, offensiveness, pugnacity, and sheer idiocy. It makes Odin but irrelevant and hysterical as he goes about blustering and yelling about this or that; issue 8 sums it up nicely, except Odin ought to be cursing the author instead of his wife for turning him into more of a villain than I ever thought him to be.

I did not mind a "female Thor." It would be interesting to ever find out why she is worthy or why the Hammer deemed her worthy (perhaps the end of issue 8 was all that was needed for her to be deemed "worthy"?). I think the story would have been "better" if the learning curve would have been a bit different. She gets her powers and immediately starts besting other super-powered beings without much trouble. You'd think it'd take more time for her to get used to her powers, her strength, and be able to wield them effectively. The author does make comments (via “Thor’s” thoughts) to the effect that she is not fully in charge of her actions, though, so there is that. Mjolnir's "obeying" her like it did was pretty cool, however. I liked the descriptions of how the Hammer "sang" in her hands and Thor (Odinson) noticed the difference in the song as well. That was pretty cool. Part of me wished it had been Sif, and part of me wished it was somebody brand new, but whatever. It is who it is.

I thought it was incredibly stupid to have Thor "give up his name" like he did. Guy has to have some kind of serious identity issues or something! It was idiotic and made absolutely zero sense whatsoever. According to Marvel's "history" of Thor, he has had special abilities and powers relating to controlling storms, specifically, and weather, in general, since long before Jason Aaron started writing the series, yet he loses his Hammer and is suddenly powerless? Makes zero sense whatsoever. I hate it when author's do things like this, as it really messes up the character in ways that are unnecessary. I could see him giving up his identity as Odin's son because of his "unworthiness" but not his first name. Also, having found out at some point why Thor was suddenly deemed "unworthy" really does not do the whole "why is Thor suddenly found to be unworthy" mystery any justice whatsoever. That was also a huge disappointment, but it is a "future disappointment" that only magnifies the weakness of the argument when reading the rest of these stories for the first time (as I had read the first four issues but never finished this run before now).

That being said, I did find it funny how the author contrasted the female “Thor” with Thor. He did a good job with that by pointing out how Thor would have blustered and yelled and gotten angrier and vented his emotions without necessarily thinking things through or finding alternative options to solving something. That is a very true statement. So in some ways Thor is like his father. Kinda funny, that is. This female Thor would look at the situation and see if there were other options available to her; she did not always first choose violence and aggression, but neither was she afraid to use it. Aaron did a great job and was quite skillful with the contrasts that were created between the original Thor and the new “Thor” and showing how different they truly are (and how Thor could have been improved as a character, in some ways, if he “had been allowed” to use the muscle between his ears more than his brawn).

The encounter between the Absorbing Man, Titania, and “Thor” was amusing as well. I did not expect Titania to knock her husband out like she did. And it was funny to me that she allowed “Thor” “one free hit” this time out of respect before telling her that next time Titania would be coming at her full-bore and she’d have a fight on her hands. Titania’s “final comment” about how hard Thor was going to hit her was funny, too. It was an interesting conversation and, in some ways, reminded me of the conversations between Crusher Creel and Eric Masterson (before he became Thunderstrike). I always wondered what would have happened if Thor had stopped automatically assuming Creel was up to no good after Eric tried working with Creel and encouraging him to make other decisions that were more legal in nature. I found myself wondering if Titania and “Thor” could have developed such a relationship. I doubt it happens, but it will be interesting to discover as I work my way through the rest of this storyline (volume 5, that is).

I also liked the gathering of female heroes to aid in the battle against the Destroyer. I am not sure how well most of those heroes would truly have fared in battled against the Destroyer, but it was still a fun issue to read. Maybe partly because of the female heroes all talking about the new “Thor” and comparing notes in the midst of battle, but those were fun moments to read.

I have never cared for Malekith, and Dario Agger is some kind of evil incarnate. So I would have to say the author did a great job with these two villains because of the deeply negative responses they have provoked in me. I find myself wishing they’d both die and stay dead; sadly, that will probably never happen. In any case, I will give the author credit for putting Malekith on a different level of villainy and “evil” than he had previously attained. I will also give him credit for creating Dario Agger and making the man so utterly despicable and wicked. Hate that character. Granted, I also hate some of how the character is written how he seems to constantly escape any kind of true consequences for his actions and decisions, but that is the way it goes. I’m not the writer, and I “understand” the desire to keep truly despicable villains around for future stories. No matter how much they need to cease to “exist.”

This series really “exposes” even further the problems with Thor’s family, with his parent’s relationship with each other and Thor with his father. And then there is Odin’s relationship with his living brother, Cul Borson. I have no idea why Odin keeps this brother alive, considering the evil he has committed. Not only that, but Cul killed Thor and Odin is willing to forgive Cul for all he has done, yet he (Odin) will not forgive others?!? Not even his own flesh-and-blood son? Not his wife? Nobody else? It is so idiotic how Odin is portrayed in this storyline, and it makes zero sense. Part of me cannot see Odin being as dense, daft, and stupid as he is portrayed as being in this series. I am not sure what the author’s intent is by taking Odin’s “worst points” and exaggerating them like he has, but it really detracts from the story, in some ways. That being said, I can also see Odin behaving the way he does regarding the hammer and how he treats his wife, sadly (because of how he has behaved in the past). I have never seen anybody take him to this extreme (and it gets “worse” in later issues, when Thor is declared King of Asgard and replaces Odin in . . . Thor vol. 05), so I am not sure what to make of it.

I also “hate” how Sif keeps “coming-and-going” as Thor’s love interest. Not that I want to see her killed or anything, but I almost wish she’d just leave with Beta-Ray Bill and make a life with him for a while. In my opinion, Sif really is “perfect” for Thor (almost a perfect foil for him) yet it seems like Marvel writers do not know how to keep a relationship together or “long-term.” I realize they probably see it as boring and not being able to write much about it, that somehow having a guy dating different women and getting romantically/physically involved with various women is somehow “better storytelling” and offers “more stories,” but it also gets tiresome to see a “hero” portrayed (in the long run) as some kind of “player” who uses women (or vice-versa) all for the “hero” to “learn some kind of life-lesson” that never really seems to stick, anyway. So it was amusing to read about Sif telling Thor that then next time he approached her, he’d better be armed. It was also interesting to read about how “twisted” Thor’s “relationship” is with his hammer, that he would prefer his hammer over Sif. There are plenty of entendres in their conversation to show how Sif felt about Thor and Mjolnir, but then again, it seems like most authors have tended to show Thor as being dependent upon his hammer (whereas there have been a few who were willing to write stories involving Thor not using Mjolnir in a fight, but those stories are few and far in-between). It will be interesting to see what becomes of Sif in the compilation for The Mighty Thor vol. 03.

It was an okay compilation; the annual was okay. My expectations were too high for it, I think, which is funny because of how disappointed I was after reading the compilation for the first eleven issues of Thor vol. 5. I am glad that I read it, but I think Aaron is, so far, my least favorite Thor scribe. Hopefully the next batch of stories I read change my mind, but I do not hold much hope at the moment. On to the next compilation!

Now that’s what I’m talking about! Following Original Sin, Thor is now unworthy to carry the mighty Mjolnir. Mjolnir, laying abandoned in the Moon, decides to enlist the help of mysterious woman to face Frost Giants who are invading Earth.

Enter Lady Thor! (Or just, Thor). But who is the new Goddess of Thunder?



Aaron handles the mystery behind the new Thor’s identify perfectly. I already knew who she was (inevitable in the times of the Internet), but it was still written excellently.

This new Thor is so different from the old one. She treats her new powers with such an awe and curiosity that the reader can't help but be engaged in her journey to discover the extent of her new abilities. It’s great seeing her use her powers in ways that the old Thor didn’t.

This book has it all! We get Thor vs Thor, Thor vs the Destroyer, Thor vs Frost Giants, and more! In the background, we also get more of Malekith and the Minotaur - two characters that I couldn’t care less about, but this was handled much better than in the last book.

The art is also great. Dauterman’s art is so vibrant and fun and greatly complements the story. Overall, a return to form after a decent volume 2. This is a 9/10 for the art and the story.

I'll have to admit, I didn't know what to think about the new Thor. It seemed like a stunt. But actually reading this, it's very fun and exciting - Jason Aaron has crafted a story that fits perfectly into the history of Thor at Marvel. Russell Dauterman is one of the great artistic finds lately, he illustrates these stories so exquisitely. The identity of Thor is kept as a secret until the very last page, if you don't know, don't read any more reviews, just starting reading NOW.

This oversized volume is beautiful. Has alternate covers and sketches.

I really enjoyed the first two oversize volumes of Aaron's run on Thor with some fairly deep issues, time travel, and fantastic art along with a well written and paced story. The bones of this story is interesting, Thor is no longer worthy and has been replaced by another person. However, I felt there was some weak characterization and writing in parts of this story. I am hopeful this will improve with volume 2.

I was aware of the controversy surrounding the new Thor, and my immediate response to it was to think "another marvel comics gimmick". But as a fan of Jason Aaron I thought I would give it a shot. Three stars is high marks for anything marvel comics in my book so it was a solid read. I actually rather like where they're going with this plotso I may pick up the next collection.

Some cool stuff happening here. I like how they handle the mystery of who is the new Thor.
The coloring and art are great, though at times, coloring effects kind obscure what is happening in the art.
Definitely excited to read more of this run.

Ah… It was lovely. Even though most storylines were left unfinished, there was enough of a conclusion to feel like something ended. The art was very good, from the layouts, to the inks and the colors. Not sure I’ll be reading the next one but I think I would recommend this.

Jason Aaron continues his highly engaging Thor run with another strong volume. Despite the constant relaunches at Marvel, Aaron has been able to maintain a dynamic and ongoing narrative across multiple iterations of the Thor comic book. I'm excited to see that events hinted at in this volume are finally being addressed in current issues of the comic. While the mystery of the female Thor is known by many now, I appreciated how Aaron set up the reveal while continuing to build on plot points introduced during Thor: God of Thunder.

I was not overly familiar with Russell Dauterman's artwork prior to reading this volume but I will make sure to look out for his future projects. Dauterman has a highly detailed and realistic style that effectively captures the mystic and fantasy elements of the story. Each page is a real treat to journey through. Aaron remains one of the true all stars still employed at Marvel and I look forward to seeing what he has planned for Thor and his upcoming Avengers book. Aaron utilizes characters from throughout Thor's comic history to great effect while adding to the existing mythos of the character. The overall Thor narrative demonstrates the value of having a dedicated and talented writer on a mainstream comic book long term regardless of events, crossovers and relaunches. Allowing a creator time to fully develop and plot a long story arc pays huge dividends in terms of consistency and quality.

I was very reluctant on giving the new Thor a shot, and just stopped after the 4th Marvel Now volume of the God of Thunder. I read secret wars, years passed, and I just consistently kept hearing about how great Jason Aaron's run on Thor has been. As it was coming to a close, where he'll be moving on to Avengers, I finally decided to go for it by buying the full collection of all 8 issues of Marvel Now collected in hardcover including some bonus material. These 8 issues lead right up to Secret Wars.
I had no idea what to expect, and inmy mind this was a stunt by Marvel, to get attention, and could no way rival Thor books. But my god is it great. And to know that it's just gonna keep getting better is insane to think...
I was never bored once, hooked with each page turn. The art is fantastic. And the bonus material at the end includes a short story drawn by the artist of Chew! How could I not love that???
You shouldn't treat and compare this Goddess of Thunder to the Odinson, she is in every right her own character that stands strong. Her story told beautifully by Jason Aaron. A must read if you're into good Marvel comics in general.

Not as amazing as I was hoping, but I assume it will get better. In the beginning it almost seems like new Thor has amnesia, and is unsure of what's happening. That eventually goes away, but so far I'm having a hard time finding her unique voice. A big part of the book is her convincing the other characters (and through them the reader) that she deserves to be Thor. It gets old though, as a defining characteristic. I hope that now that people for the most part accept her and the reader (but still no characters) know her identity that she can become a bit more interesting. The art is great, I love Dauterman's very detailed but not overly realistic linework (love all the art nouveau hair!) and Matt Wilson's colors give everything an amazing vibrancy. There were several instances of overt "Girl Power!" moments, and honestly I loved them. I like Roxxon and it's minotaur CEO as an antagonist, it's pretty different and very fun. Overall good stuff and I look forward to more.

Incredible art, really. The dialogue is good. I like it that the all-mother Freyja is strong-willed and progressive. Without revealing the identity of the new Thor yet, they were able to show her trying to adapt and discover her new abilities. Her fights are brutal and skillful which is great. They also did not forget the Prince Odinson during all these. I like that he's not whining and vengeful at the new Thor aince he eventually accepted his unworthiness and admired her worthiness. At the latter part of this volume when he was searching for the new Thor's identity is good. Which made sense the all-women battle with the Destroyer. I've just known Agent Roz Solomon here and I was able to understand the character. The colors of this volume is so good even those dimmed colors to suggest shadow and divert focus.
I was wondering though, if I was reading these without knowing the identity of Thor, would I able to guess who she is.

Jason Aaron pokračuje vo svojom rune a rozhodol sa pre radikálnu vec. Zmeniť postavu, ktorá nesie meno Thor. Svojho času to samozrejme vyvolalo búrku nevôle. Muselo byť ale super čítať túto sériu v dobe, keď vychádzala a stále pátrať po tom, kto sa skrýva za maskou. Aaron si musel byť všetkého toho hejtu vedomí a rôznym postavám dával do úsť repliky ako z typického šovinistického diskusného vlákna. Okrem hlavnej postavy sú skvele napísané aj ďalšie, nech ide o hrdinov alebo zloduchov. Veľmi rozporuplný je Odin, ktorý zo vzniknutej situácie samozrejme nie je nadšený. Zabudnúť nesmiem na Odinsona, ktorý síce neprezradí, prečo je nehodný, ale v príbehu tiež skvele funguje. A vymenovať by som mohol ešte ďalších minimálne desať postáv, ktoré Aaron skvele využíva aby pokračoval v budovaní fantastického sveta, ktorý sa rúti do vojny. Je to akčné, vtipné, farebné, magické...skrátka chcem pokračovanie.

Russell Dauterman's amazing art carries this book. As usual, Jason Aaron ports over a good idea ("I'm the new Spider-Man") from other comics, and it's great watching all the characters react to a change in the status quo. It's a remarkably stupid idea to give your successor your given name, but otherwise the transition is done about as well as possible. That being said, the girl power theme is way overdone. All the male characters are either villains or hapless '50s husbands, all the female characters are Empowered and Standing Together, and there's dialogue like like "This is a one-time girl power pass" in almost every issue. Still, these 8 issues feature lots of fun and even some dramatic tension.

A inicios del 2015, Marvel renovó los 3 pilares de los Avengers, surgieron Superior Iron Man (un Tony Stark ególatra y sin escrúpulos), Sam Wilson era el Nuevo Capitán América con un raid de aventuras contra Zemo y secuaces, pero nada se compara con Thor, la diosa del Trueno.
Jason Aaron ya venia colocando al título en un punto muy alto pero la nueva protagonista femenina, el destino de Odinson, la vuelta de Odin, Roxxon, gigantes de hielo y Malekith en diferentes historias que como la misma historia lo dice solo es el prólogo de lo que se viene.
Russell Dauterman es el nuevo descubrimiento en el arte que encaja perfectamente con la mitología.
Excelente.

The epic and mythological setting for these books is both a help and a hindrance. Sometimes when I read the book I wonder whether the main character is a bit too over powered. But then I sometimes enjoy the galactic scale of the stories and I cannot have it both ways.

I do like this Thor, I like the character she comes from and I like her human fragility. I like the fact that when she is Thor she is fully THOR. There are no compromises here and there is no patronisation.

There is a moment in the book when tales are told from the Thor in history and they were fun. Because they were set so long ago they were mythological and the art, while different, worked on its own terms.

The action is great. The Politics of all the different plays felt confused for a while but I got to grips. Again the art was lovely and the action good.

I am enjoying the Thor books because they fully suspend your disbelief. They take you far away from the real world and that can be refreshing.

Marvel Now! brought some great characters and the Goddess of Thunder is one of them! Jane Foster is an amazing Thor. She does what she believes is right, but also has fun while she does it. I love how she can throw the hammer and hit her targets over and over again, it was worth seeing Odinson’s reaction to this. Odinson has a journey to go on as well. His life has been turned upside down. I look forward to seeing Jane’s journey as Thor and also Odinson’s eventual quest to find his worthiness once again.

A fresh take on Thor. First of, the art is remarkable. Vibrant colors along with eye-catching art that you just can't get enough of it.
As for the story, i think it is promising enough to keep you devoted to this run. The only thing that made me enjoy it less than i would normally do, was that i already knew who the mighty Thor under the mask was. ( goddamn you spoilers). If i wasn't aware of that, it would totally blow my mind off.

This is the first Thor I've bought since the classic Simonson era of the 80s, because it's new and exciting and a bit sexy! These nice big hardback collections of the Jason Aaron / Russell Dauterman Jane Foster Thor era are well worth your money as it's all the best bits of the Thor you know and love but with new twists to keep it fresh and interesting. Now when is the third hardback coming out? I can't wait until the end of 2018 (judging from the release schediule so far).

Ik wou al zo iets van Thor lezen en meteen ook de vrouwelijke incarnatie ervan. Mijn hoge verwachtingen werden niet helemaal ingelost omdat het vooral de nieuwe status quo vaststellen is en meeslepend wordt het pas echt naar het einde toe. Russel Dautermans tekeningen zijn zo gedetailleerd dat je moet wennen aan de drukte, maar eenmaal alles op zijn plaats is, kan je genieten van het verhaal, de personages en de fantastische tekenstijl boordevol kleur en magische sfeer.

I gave it a 4 because I know that any fan of Thor will LOVE Aaron's take on the material. I went in without a great love for the character, and while I can appreciate the take on the stories, they weren't compelling enough for me to continue with the comic. If I rated this based on a stand-alone narrative, I'd go a 3 for anyone out there that's only "Thor-curious."

well drawn (tho some of the action scenes were so finely drawn and in such small boxes that i couldn't really make out what was happening), engaging story, nice devleopment of the characters.

don't waste your time with the bonus short graphic stories at the back.
