"Never call yourself just a woman. You're the most beautiful—" he closed his hands over hers and leaned in to kiss her "—most dazzling woman I've ever known. And you've got me so tied up in knots..."
Oh, I'm absolutely loving this series from R.C. Ryan and just like Ingrid grabbed Luke, these Malloys of Montana have got me all tied up in knots. I think it's safe to say that, as much as I've enjoyed her others, Luke is now officially my favorite of all the books I've read by this author.
At least, until I read the next one... then, we'll see.
Luke was fabulous. I adore sexy cowboys, and this middle Malloy cowboy is the epitome of sexy. And hot. And big-hearted. Oof, the man hit my soft spot with his good nature, his kindness, his willingness to help and his ability to know just what his girls needed. *Sigh* It certainly doesn't hurt the man has moves that can turn the most raging river into mere steam, and me into a melted puddle of lust. And work those knots around my heart.
But it wasn't just Luke himself that made Luke the book such a good read. The balance between the love Ingrid and Luke were developing and the underlying mystery of what was happening on the Larsen ranch ensured that this story maintained a steady, engaging pace, right up until the OMG! ending. The suspicious activity never overtook the rest of the story—in fact, it served the highlight the acceptance and beautiful familial spirit of the Malloys. Just tying those knots tighter.
Plus, there were some more hints at a growing something between Colin and Anita, more love evident between Matt and Nessa, a little bit of Reed showing his swoony ways (and just making me all the more eager for his book), and another piece of the overall puzzle that Ms. Ryan is weaving through this series—all of which made certain that those knots won't be untied any time soon.
"The only woman I see is you, Ingrid. The only one I've seen since being in this house is you. Only you."
