Newly divorced from his greedy and deceptive first wife, Dallas McCray is convinced he wants a sweet country girl like his sister-in-law. So why is he lusting after the new veterinarian in town, striking New Jersey transplant Annie DeSimone? Also divorced, Annie yearns to leave her difficult past behind and start a new life in beautiful Colorado. Sparks fly between her and the handsome Dallas, and happiness finally seems within reach. But attraction and emotion aren’t always enough…especially when a man has vowed never to make the same mistake twice.
#1 New York Times, #1 USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Helen Hardt's passion for the written word began with the books her mother read to her at bedtime. She wrote her first story at age six and hasn’t stopped since. In addition to being an award winning author of contemporary and historical romance and erotica, she’s a mother, an attorney, a black belt in Taekwondo, a grammar geek, an appreciator of fine red wine, and a lover of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. She writes from her home in Colorado, where she lives with her family.
Helen Hardt is wrecking havoc on my sleep pattern. Her books are so very hard to put down. Dallas and Annie are amazing and you fall in love with them instantly. Annie is so very strong and has overcome a lot. I think we all knew something was wrong with Chelsea. In the end they come together and make a stand in the name of love.
I must say that I have fallen in love with this series. I absolutely adore the Mcray boys and their friends. This story centers around the oldest McCray brother Dallas, who happens to divorce his money hungry wife Chelsea and winds up meeting and falling in love with the new vet in town Annie. Annie just got.out of a bad marriage herself and her and Dallas hit it off immediately. But after a conversation and not being given a chance to explain Dallas walks away from Annie, it isn't until he is faced with losing Annie for good that he ad is to himself what others have been trying to tell him, that he is in love with her. The characters are just fabulous you feel like your right there with them. I am lookng forwood to reading Chad's story next.
I'm only on my second book and I love the McCray brothers. There's just something about them that i can't get enough of. This book is about Dallas who recentley divorced from his gold digging wife Chelsea. Dallas meets Annie when Dusty brings her home for dinner and my do the sparks fly. But after one weekend together and things said without having the chance to explain things get rocky. Can Dallas write the wrong and tell Annie he's in love with her before its to late? I can't wait to read Chad's story.
I loved seeing Dallas leave his toxic marriage, as well as Annie. The way they understand each other is lovely, and I enjoyed this book. If you have any triggers, please be careful. This book has domestic violence, spousal manipulation, and on page verbal abuse between spouses. These country books are just a lot of fun for me.
This book was ok. It was very insta-love. Like first chapter instant. Dallas is coming off of his new divorce from Chelsea. Annie just moved to town and was invited to dinner by Dusty. As soon as Annie and Dallas see each other it's an immediate attraction. And then it's a hot mess of miscommunication and stubbornness. I didn't think this one flowed as well either.
I have been a fan of Helen’s for a while now & when I saw the chance to read some of her Temptation series books I was excited. The series doesn’t have to be read all together, and they can be read as standalones. She packs so much emotion and heart into her writing, I was very excited to see what she puts into Teasing Annie & Taking Catie. Although I skipped right to book #2, it wasn’t an issue not reading book 1 first. Both books were quick reads for me and tugged at my heart in so many ways. The series follows the McCray brothers and we get each of their stories in each book. I selected two that seemed the most interesting to me, and loved them both! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series now! I want more McCray’s! Teasing Annie In Teasing Annie we get Dallas’ story. He’s the oldest brother and is nervous about any possibility of a relationship due to his history with his ex wife. He is scared to fall into another trap and loveless relationship. Then he meets the new Veterinarian in town Annie and he begins to think things might be different with her. He guards himself, but also is so drawn to her he isn’t able to keep her away. Both characters are well developed and very loveable personalities. There is a little bit of angst, but nothing too over the top. Can he overcome his own doubts and just be with Annie without pushing her away? Taking Catie Taking Catie was a very fun read and different from Teasing Annie in many ways. In Taking Catie we meet Catie Bay. She has loved from a distance Chad McCray and when she fails at seducing him she leaves the country. She returns from Europe a few years later a traveled, worldly woman. Confident and secure in whom she is. Chad is defiantly not looking for anything serious, but when he sees her back in town, he is drawn to her and is very interested in just a roll in the hay. But when emotions get involved and things get heated, the just can’t seem to stay away. Their book was very different from Annie’s in their personalities. These two weren’t fun loving, fall in love with them characters. Annie does have a bit of a crush on him that blinds her in his behaviors. His personality for a good chunk of the book is not the best. But once things start to get going with them after she returns from Europe, they are both much more aware of each other and I found them more likeable as time went on in this story.

***"Everything You do, every person who crosses your path, contributes to where you are today. Who you are today." She reached toward him, her hand shaking, and caressed his lightly stubbled cheek. "And who you are today is the man I love."*** -Helen Hardt: Teasing Annie: Chapter 18
Teasing Annie is book 2 of The Temptation Saga. Dallas McCray has recently gotten out of a deceptive marriage and has vowed to never be in another deceptive relationship. Annie DeSimone is also a divorcee from New Jersey. Annie was determined to start a new life in Colorado. Once there, she meets Dallas. Things heat up quickly between Annie and Dallas only to second guess their decisions. What happens when their cruel, soulless exes return unexpectedly.
LOVE <3 LOVE <3 LOVE this one. I read Tempting Dusty and that was when I first fell in love with Dallas. Dallas and Annie had so much in common but was so stubborn at first. I was so happy that they worked through their issues. I really wish their story continued. I have three words for this book... SEVERE BOOK HANGOVER! Look out book 3, I'm on the way.
I liked the first book and absolutely hated this book. Instalove gone completely wrong.
1. The H finds out that the h lied to her first husband about taking the pill (which his first wife did to him) and dropped her like a hot potato.
2. Then he gets mad when others show interest.
3. He then gets her into his study, he wants to kiss her and she says no but he does it anyway. A few minutes later, he states that he would never force another... but he just did!
4. She figures out why he dumped her but he is completely unwilling to hear her out.
5. She goes home and her evil ex is there, who then strips her top off and hits her, ties her up and takes off with her.
6. Meanwhile our H gets a reality check from his sister in law, finds that she is missing, sees her phone and figures out who her ex is and calls, then negotiates to get her back. He gets her back, they talk and live HEA!
The last 2.5 hours of the book is all about a stupid miscommunication! Him whining to family about the terrible thing she did but refusing to talk to them or her. Of the 2000 books I think I have read, this is the worst H!

Dallas McCray is the least personable of the brothers, partly to do with the fact that he was mostly given the responsibility of looking after his younger brothers and his father was not a very nice man.
He has recently divorce his greedy and lying wife and finds himself envying his brother, who has a family of his own. He wants to find a sweet country girl like Dusty, but it is the new veterinarian, Annie DeSimone from New Jersey, who gets his heart racing. She is also recently divorce and is not looking for any man, but the chemistry between them is irresistible. Things are running hot and furious, until a innocent remark, makes Dallas pull away, not knowing that by doing so, he has put Annie in danger.
A fast read, with lively banter. Dallas keeps saying he doesn't make the same mistake twice, but with Annie he keeps repeating his, without even realizing it until, until he almost losers her and his sister-in-law has to give him a metaphorical smack on the side of his head.
Annie is a Jersey girl after my own heart. She is built tough and knows how to overcome pain in her life. She is not afraid to start over again if she needs too. And she is willing to take a chance with Dallas. Dallas is trying to overcome the end of his marriage. And is not willing to make the same mistake twice. So much so that he almost loses Annie in the process. Thankfully he realized his mistake before it was too late. Both Annie and Dallas have been married and are now divorced. Neither of them was looking for anything serious when they got together. Annie, after the, abused she suffered at the hands of his ex-husband should be afraid to give her heart out again but with Dallas, she isn’t. Dallas after being burned by his vindictive ex-wife is afraid to make the same mistake twice, and when he feels like Annie is like Chelsea, he tries to push her away. But he soon realizes that he needs Annie in his life and will do anything to make sure he has her there. That includes saving her from her crazy ex-husband. This book was an enjoyable read and I really loved the fact that Annie was from Jersey, which I am as well.
I loved the first book and this one too. Good, flowing, engaging writing style. However, I knocked off one star because the hero didn't grovel enough and the heroine was too much of a doormat for my liking. What really pissed me off was the way he asks her to leave after ripping her bodice and doing it with her at a bbq party - even if he's once again breaking things off with her, a good human being would at least see to it that she has something to cover herself on her way out. He just asks her to leave almost topless from the scene - such a douchebag. And she STILL goes back for more shit from him. His asshat behaviour lasting over 80% of the book warranted much more spine from the h and much more grovel from the H IMO. Same is the case with the 3rd book. Miss Hardt, I'm a fan of yours already, but I'd love your work even more if your h makes such Heroes work for it and the H grovels at par with his follies.
Annie moved to a small town to start her life over after leaving an abusive relationship. She wasn't ready to be involved with anyone until she laid on eyes on the handsome Dallas McCray. She met Dusty McCray when she stopped into the vet office with her sick cat. She invited Annie to dinner with her & her husband. That's where she first seen Dallas. Now she was smitten but would they stay together after her slip up about lying to her ex husband because the same thing happened to Dallas with his ex wife. But when Annie is kidnapped Dallas will do anything to get her back and try to confess his love to her. Her ex husband is recing havoc with their relationship. But when all is said and done will Dallas & Annie be together forever or will things go toward the worst.
Dallas is the oldest of the McCray boys. After a recent divorce, Dallas decides no more deceitful women. Annie decides to up and move to Bakersville Colorado for a vet position after a nasty divorce with an abusive husband. She wanted a fresh start. She meets Dusty McCray as she’s about to lock up for the night and gets invited over for dinner to the McCray farm. That’s when she meets Dallas. There’s an instant chemistry between them. After Dallas finds out about Annie hiding something huge from her ex husband, he stops seeing her. He later finds out why she was deceitful and immediately goes to apologize. Overall 3 out of 5 stars Performance 3 out of 5 stars Story 3 out of 5 stars
Dallas was an azzz Dallas had a lot on his shoulders and one weight was lifted off. He finds solace in his ranch and work. He also finds that he wants what his younger brother had with his wife and son. He wants his own family. The new doctor in town finds her way into a family welcoming her right on in. All this happens as she too has let go of unwanted weight in her life. She finds that being around her new friend and her family it gives her something more. But with that comes the sexy Dallas. He finds his way in to her thoughts and she in to his. Things progress and digress with whip fast quickness.
Dallas was all over the place and he was not one of my favorite people in this one or the first book he was introduced in. I love Annie. I loved her need to move forward with her lif
Just like the last book, absolutely cringy and terrible dubious consent. Also INSTALOVE. All caps completely necessary. I believe, besides the epilogue, they new each other for maybe 2 weeks and they were engaged? And they spent most of that time not speaking. Yeah no. A week subplot of “ex wife sabotaging” that never got resolved and just terrible writing and descriptions. Dallas may never never make the same mistake twice, but I sure fucking did. Won’t happen again though. Skip this series, there are 10000000 better ones out there.
This book has earned 0 fucking stars for being trash. I’m also not willing to call it spice since there was a “legit” rape scene (besides the others where she says no before relaxing into his forcefulness) if it needed a rating for sex, a 2 probably. They were not good.
I loved reading Teasing Annie(Temptation Saga Book 2), all about Annie DeSimone a thirty year old woman who is a Veterinarian and is new to town & Dallas McCray who is thirty-four a cowboy/rancher. They met at his brother Zach's house, because his wife Dusty brought the new vet home for supper. Her car had broken down and was in the shop, so Dusty drove her out to the ranch and said her husband would take her home after dinner. However after dinner he asked his brother Dallas to take her home, and they hit it off! The author wrote a story that is full of emotion that will keep you on the edge of your seat almost all the way thru, till the very end! I can't wait to read book 3!
oh boy dallas and annie...delicious dallas got divorced from his wife chelsea who is a devious bitch and deceptive...annie is the towns new vet becomes friends with dusty zachs wife...dallas and annie have a connection but she has an ex as well who just got out of jail and is after her dallas does not know her story and dusty tells him...annie goes home and her ex is in her apt kidnaps her dusty tells dallas go after her he does shoots her ex and finally tells annie how much he loves her...of course happy ev er after...love this series and excellent reading...on to the next...yummy
Awesome! I've reviewed this book United Indie Book Blog. I love reading Helen Hardts' books. I fell in love with Dallas and Annie. Helen does an awesome job with creating each characters and storyline. This is the second book in this series. You will be drawn into the book from the first page. This can be read as an standalone but I suggest that you read these in order to maximum each characters. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I highly suggest that you read all of Helen Hardt books. She is hands down one of my favorite authors. Keep up the awesome work Helen!

Wow - I thought I loved the first book in this series, but this one was even better. Annie is running from her abusive ex husband, Dallas is trying to move on from a disastrous divorce. When the two meet sparks fly and the heat jumps from the pages. But will Annie's secrets cause Dallas to walk away? Will he stand by her and fight her demons? This book had awesome characters that you could feel falling in love. The storyline was an emotional page turner. I could not put it down and I was sad to see it end. i cannot wait to read more in this series.
A continuation in the Temptation series. Personally, Annie was a little better than Dusty. Dusty was an intro into the series. Annie was good yet still left me feeling it may have been rushed. There were chapters where the storyline was captivating but too the relationship kind of happened a tad to quick. A real outlook on Annie’s circumstances and wa# wondering, what was the outcome to Dallas’s ex, Chelsea? I’ll leave it here as always stated, I do not spoil, just go ve my personal opinion on book. Enjoy 🙂
Helen Hardt has another hit in her hands!! Thus series is amazing. Each one if the books here is about one person ( must if who we have met already) . The first I've was about Dusty and Zack McCray. Thus one is about Annie and Dallas McCray. Annie is the new to the town veterinarian. She , just like Dusty, has a HUGE secret. Dallas in the other hand has a lot of hang ups from his marriage to Chelsea. Will Annie and Dallas ever be able to forget the wrong doings done to them by the people they thought loved them?
As always Helen Hardt doesn’t fail to impress! I loved this book - full of passion and unexpected turns! Everyone loves a gentlemanly cowboy, and everyone loves Dallas McCray! Annie moves to Baskerville and sets up her own veterinary practice attracting business from the local ranches (and local single men!). We learn the reasons for Annie moving to the area, we also learn more about the McCray’s as this is the second book in the Temptation Saga. A brilliant quick read that will make you blush, so maybe don’t read it on the train to work haha.
*This book has flashbacks and might trigger some! There’s talk about domestic violence, please read with caution*
What a story!!! We met Dallas and his wife in Tempting Dusty and none of the members of the family like her.... (if you haven’t read it, go grab it.... you’ll see what a crazy of a wife he had 😂)
Annie is been divorced, and Dallas divorce just became final!
This story had me sobbing 😭
Although..... after Dallas discovering I was wondering what happened to his ex and the person who helped her?!!! 🤔
Teasing Annie (The Temptation Saga #2) was another great read by Helen Hardt. Dallas McCray was married to a deceptive woman who he is finally divorced from. He is now convinced that he wants a sweet country girl. He finds himself lusting after Annie DeSimone, the new veterinarian from New Jersey. Annie is also divorced and wants to leave her past behind in New Jersey. Unfortunately as they start letting their guard down, their pasts come back at them. I loved reading this book and can't wait to read more by Helen Hardt.
Since when does Annie find grey hair sexy? Dallas and Annie are both coming out of a divorce. Doc and cowboy Agreed to a one weekend stand.
I lost interest during this book pretty quickly. I was close to not finishing it but I wanted to see what their happy ending would be like. There is instant chemistry between the two but their interactions together did nothing for me. Dallas would really rather be in the dark about information and suffer than hear Annie out. Chelsea is just low and handled everything poorly. The ring at the end was super rushed.
Anne needed a new start, so she decided a small town in Colorado was just the place to start over. She sets up her vet practice and becomes a big hit. Dallas fresh off a divorce finds himself head over heals attracted to Anne. Dallas has no clue about Anne's past other than she to is divorced. When Anne's ex-husband shows up things turn bad fast. Once again Helen Hardy has delivered an exceptional story.
The second book of the Temptation series. Dusty and Zach are happily married and have a son named Sean. When their cat Nigel becomes ill, Dusty invites the new vet in town over for dinner. Sparks fly when the vet Annie meets Zach’s brother Dallas. Unfortunately both of them have a lot of “ex” baggage and even though they are smitten with each other, they’re both too stubborn to give it a chance. When Annie’s ex is released from prison, things go from bad to worse.
