I received this book from Goodreads.

The blurb does not give this book due credit. Wager's Price is crazy good! It was so much fun to read, I hated it when it ended! I desperately want to get my hands on the next book. The sooner the better.
Okay, I just want to bounce around in circles and pull my hair out. How can I convince people that they need this book in their lives when I can not articulate how good this book is?! All of my thoughts are nonverbal right now and can not be put on digital paper because this book has caused a major book hangover and the kinda cliff hanger at the end has stole my tongue.
I need help.
Only the next book will fix it.
Start writing G.P. Ching. And I demand more HORU.
Man, I love this book. Sorry. Sorry. Just had to say it again.

I loved the Soulkeepers series and had read all 6 books three times through. My kindle app popped up on the 26th of April and told me there was a new Soulkeepers book. What?! Heck yeah! Downloaded it that morning and began reading it the next day when I got some down time. At first I thought, where is she going with this? However, it was interesting so I couldn't put it down. Read it cover to cover that day and when I came up for air, I thought, holy s#&! what did I just read?! Awesome way to restart the series. This was like The Night Circus meets Harry Potter meets Soulkeepers... but totally not... Just read it. Totally worth it!

Starts slow, but it's worth it. A bunch of new characters need to be introduced before the action starts. Can't wait for the next books of the series!

Finn and his friends enjoy pulling pranks. They figure no one gets hurt so they aren’t really doing anything wrong until everything goes wrong. Given his choices, Finn decides to receive his punishment at an alternative school called Revelations Institute. It’s supposed to be an fancy private school that promises a 100% success rate in turning delinquent kids into model citizens. When something seems too good to be true it usually is. When a student doesn’t follow the rules they disappear and when they return they seem different. There is definitely something evil at this school and Finn, with the help of Hope will have to find a way to stop it before people die and the world is put at risk.

If you want the background for this series you want to read The Soulkeepers series first but you can still read this series without it and still love it. The Soulkeepers Reborn series is the next installment by G.P. Ching that continues the fight between good and evil and tries to keep order in the universe. Finn’s character is funny and passionate but shows a soft spot that is needed in today’s world. Hope is the picture of rebellion, fighting her destiny to be her own person yet finding herself along the way. I loved the first series and this next installment was not a

disappointment. Look for the next book in the series, Hope’s Promise that will continue the fight against evil.

Am glad that I rather spontaneously picked up this book - wasn’t expecting anything much, though the cover is definitely sublime. Nonetheless, I can and will certainly maintain that this work is well-worth the time spent on it.

Ching made sure that this book, and the series in extension, would not dissolve into the penetralia of the thematic sanctum of Good vs Evil, through their ingenious creation of an otherworldly circus school that alters your very soul, precluding one’s realisation that they, as dictated by their genes, are liable to be better equipped against the malfeasances of Hell.

It is due to this book’s idiosyncrasies that distracted me from some editorial improvidence, and J indubitably appreciate the fact that Ching attributed an element of this evil to humans, as relative realism is asserted as a result.

Thus, it logically comes to pass that, while this is not the best roman I’ll ever read, I shall definitely recommend it. Be warned though, it does come with some fledging teenage romance and lack of embellishment in other somewhat emotive situations (hope there’s at least a summarise scene between Theodor and Victoria later on), but is nonetheless engaging.

N.B. From the descriptions we get of Wyatt, I really don’t believe I’m reaching by saying he’s cherubic hh.

Delinquent kids being shipped off to an island forced to learn the ancient dying art of the Big Top only to find out that there is more darkness and mystery to this school than the brochure would lead you to believe. After failing to pull off, what his little prank group thought would be the most epic of pranks on their school, Finn Wagner found himself with the option of Juvenile Detention or Jail… until a strange man representing Revelations show up and he took all his friends down the rabbit hole with him. Hope was literally the last of her kind, the only remaining Soulkeeper on Earth. A healer destined to live out a life fighting evil and demons and saving souls until she sends the final fallen angel back where it belongs. And where else would this fallen angel be hiding other than the one and only Revelations.

“Someone or something is reaping human souls. You are the last Soulkeeper, the Healer. This is your job-”

This story was fast paced and super interesting. As a huge fan of this light vs dark/angel vs demons kind of stories I instantly felt drawn to this story after reading only the description and it did not disappoint. I did find it strange that these parents had no problem sending their children off to some secretive island that no one had ever heard of and the fact that the only thing taught at this school, was different levels of difficulty you find at a circus and not actual school work but I guess as a parent if my child was looking at jail or a circus school I would choose the ladder too. I did also find the whole Circus aspect strange but less than halfway through the book I was totally sold and 100% on board with these kids defying gravity, taming animals and dancing with fire.

I really like that G.P. Ching didn’t try to rush developing the characters or push expectant relationships. In the end there were a couple of surprises I didn’t see coming. I like that the chapters were shorter and kept switching characters because in a story like this you don’t want to see just one side of the story.

I haven’t read any of the other Soulkeeper books but now I sure want to and I for sure want to keep up with the series. Even though I’m late to the Soulkeeper game I didn’t feel like I was hindered by not being familiar with the other stories in the separate series. The Soulkeepers Reborn series is a stand alone but I’m positive the others are amazing too. I would say this series is for those who like supernatural type stuff, it reminds me a little of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural combo which I for one love both.

I was given a copy of this book for my 100% honest opinion.

WOW - G P Ching is definitely an amazing author!!!

When Finn and his buddies play their pranks, they feel empowered. Then something happens and the prank turns bad. They are banned from school and are offered a chance to be sent to another school for their punishment. But what they find at this school is unbelievable. I don't write spoilers -- but I will tell you this -- the further you read into this story, the better it gets. So good, that you won't want to stop reading, until you finish the book.

Now -- I'm waiting for the next book of the series!!!

A good continuation of the original series. Fits nicely into the original universe, but with a fresh perspective. The main character is the baby from the original series, all grown up. Rather than hand this character an exact replication of her foster parents predicament, she is given a new setting (albeit a similar problem). I found the setting and new world interesting. It was an entertaining read.

Fairly Compelling

If you are a fan of G.P. Ching you will enjoy this book. I feel that it is not as good as the original Soulkeepers series, those books I read from first to last unable to put them down. This book was compelling enough that I wanted to finish it, and I will immediately start the second in the series, “Hope’s Promise”.

Soooo

I went back and forth with this book. Some parts I was skimming just because I couldn't get into it and other parts I couldn't put it down. Clowns, a weird angel, clones, the devil, magic and shape shifting.

Awesome

Gripping, enchanting, action packed. There's something for everyone here. It's also a decent length. I find that I get disappointed when a book ends abruptly. I am still left wanting more but in a good way.

As a huge Soulkeepers fan, I was very disappointed. The transition from the old characters to the new characters was poorly executed. Lucifer made a 2 second appearance before being obliterated by a necklace... Really?

Favorite Characters: Finn and Theodor

This series scratches the ache that Soulkeepers left. Absolutely wonderful writing and story telling. Series like these fill me with wonder at how someone can formulate such a story from the human brain. Amazing.

*This novel was reviewed for NetGalley. 'Wager's Price' was an enjoyable first book of the Soulkeepers Reborn series. Aimed at teens, it tells the story of two teenagers, Hope, a soulkeeper, charged with fighting evil, and Finn, a youtube prankster with a low opinion of himself. Both end up making a 'deal' to avoid juvey and are invited to attend an unorthodox school for delinquents called Revelations. Here Finn discovers hidden talents and his own self-worth, while Hope enlists Finn's help in trying to unravel the mystery of their new school and battling evil. I enjoyed the character development within the novel and the mystery itself was intriguing. The role of magic at Revelations made this more than just a standard mystery. I look forward to reading the next book in the series, hoping to see further character growth from Finn, Hope and their team.

A phenomenal story about a high school student who leads a prank that goes horribly wrong. Although his father is a high-profile lawyer, he can't save Finn from the consequences so he enrolls at a reform school with a high success rate. On his first day, Finn starts to suspect the school uses unusual techniques to keep the students in line. Hope is assigned to the same room as Finn but is harboring a secret. She's the last soulkeeper and there to try to figure out what's happening to lost souls. While Finn focuses on trying to stay alive, Hope searches for clues to who's responsible.

A fascinating fantasy full of magic and secrets.
