Hero of the Arcane: The triad of ancient magic

Rate this book
Cornelia Pendragon was a normal girl- if normal meant the biggest nerd to ever live in Salem. On the day of her eighteenth birthday, in the midst of a comic convention she not only discovers that magic is real but that her uncle is one of the most powerful wizards to ever cast a spell.
The surprises didn't stop there when she suddenly found herself in the presence of Merlin who transported her to a medieval world where everyone thinks she's the reincarnation of a hero who will save them from the impending Darkness. With no knowledge of magic, Cornelia will have to learn how to save herself first.

Hooked from the beginning

This was such a fun read. I was hooked from the beginning. Morgan Barrows weaved such a great story. The witty one liners, and sarcasm were pure gold. Talithe and Byivon are my absolute favorites. They are so prickly but big softies in my opinion. Cordelia is just pure entertainment, she straight up let her intrusive thoughts win and that made me love her character so much more. I can’t wait to see what else Morgan Barrows writes! Hopefully, there’s a second book? Fingers crossed.

I sped read this in a matter of hours, and enjoyed every second. A easy read that hooks you quickly, and plenty of action and snark to keep you going through the story.

A great and exciting first book in the series. It not only gave the main character her story but other characters surrounding her had their own stories to tell, and really focused on them when needing to. As a fan of novels with historical themes, I really enjoyed the medieval aspect of it as well as the Arthurian legend behind it.
