Lea Kirk loves to transport her readers to other worlds with her science fiction romance. All her life she's looked up at the stars and wondered, "What if...?"
She's the author of the award-winning Prophecy series, and is currently working on a new series: the Silverstar series--part of the Intergalactic Dating Agency--featuring heroines and heroes who are 50+.
She lives with her wonderful hubby, their five kids (aka, the nerd herd), and and a rather spoiled pup who thinks she's a people!
I LOVE IT!! This is a SPACETASTIC short story that takes place after Prophecy ends, a side story with different characters. And what incredible characters too! The birthing scene?!? I couldn't stop laughing! Seriously!! The rest of the story? WOW! Talk about powerful! On ALL levels! And the ending?!? WHOA! Lea has definitely showcased her astronomical talent & exceptional gift with this shorter story because I fell instantly into it, attached to the characters just from the "about" page! And given how much I cried (and how many times I had to pause & calm down, especially at the ending, in order to keep reading), I think it is more than safe to say that this story affected me deep into my Animi. I often find myself having a harder time connecting with short stories, but that is soooo NOT the case this time! I fell in love with Lea's storytelling with Prophecy and while I am *cough* impatiently *cough* eagerly awaiting my next STELLAR adventure, this story, rather than "appease" my desire for more, it actually INCREASED it! I ABSO-MATIRAN-LUTELY CANNOT wait to travel with Lea, Alex, Gryf, Nick and the rest of my friends!
Do not let the 'short story' label fool you; All of Me: A Prophecy Series Short Story by Lea Kirk is such an impactful novella. The sweetness of the relationship between "Gunner" and April reminded me of a first crush and the nervousness and excitement of exploring a new romance. Lea Kirk has a way with scenes and words that bring the characters to life and you, as the reader, feel a part of their journies and their triumphs and challenges.
While this could be a standalone book, I highly recommend reading it after reading Prophecy so you can explore the storyline and characters more in depth. You will not be disappointed.

Summary:
Received for an honest review.
Garrison's world was all but destroyed by an alien race and it it wasn't for the help the Matriran people, another race, their would be nothing left to save. Garrison fought in the struggle and now he is assisting with some of the rebuilding. Along the way helped save April Boroski and in the process fell in love with her. At the time they met, he was in time to save her, but the man she loved and the father of her son perished in the attack. Garrison never forgot her and in the end returned to help her in any way realizing that his feelings may never be returned.
It was wonderful how Garrison stayed at April's side helping any way he could and by doing that it allowed April to see what a strong and loving man Garrison really was. Where love exists there is always hope and Garrison has more than enough love for April and her unborn child.
Overall, this is a solid and sweet May-December short story romance with a lot of touching relating to being a new family after a loss.
April: She’s complex in that she’s suffered the loss of a lover and is facing a situation where she’ll have a constant reminder of it for the rest of her life that will bring her both joy and pain.
Gunner: He’s just a good guy. He’s military, older than April, and conscious of these facts. He’s self-sacrificing to a fault in that he falls in love with the little guy, David, in this story.

There are times when you just want a bit of delight, an "amuse bouche" to start your day or as a pick-me-up. Having been so fortunate as to snag a review copy, I can most strongly recommend "All of Me" as just the thing. This story is SciFi and deals with a post-apocalyptic world but is a sweet romance at heart and succeeds on every level! Although a stand-alone tale, it is also linked with a universe Ms Kirk's deft prose invites me to explore (Prophecy Series). I was thoroughly enthralled.
A sweet, romantic read. Garrison "Gunner" Reed falls in love with the young pregnant widow he rescues from a slave ship. She's still in love with her late husband, the father of her child. Can Gunner ever be anything more to her? Sometimes you just want something light, sweet and quick, and this fit the bill. Very enjoyable.
Following the Anferthian invasion of Earth (recounted in Lea Kirk's Prophecy), the Matirans help Earthlings to rebuild. "Gunner" Reed is overseeing the development of Terr Base One on Earth. During the invasion he rescued April Burowski, and she is currently working at an orphanage near Terr Base One. April is mourning the death of Dave, the father of her unborn child.
This is a heart-warming, gentle tale of respect, love and tenderness. I really enjoyed reading it, and would pick up any book Kirk writes.
All of Me is a short romance about Gunnar and April and their unlikely romance during the aftermath of the alien invasion of earth. The story is swift but moving and heartfelt. I generally don’t like short stories, but I love Lea Kirk’s post-invasion world, and enjoyed this side-character story. I eagerly await her next novel.
This could be standalone, but it does take place after Prophecy so would make more sense read after. Great short story I really enjoy Lea's world and characters and cannot wait for more from her!
