I am a strong adherent of Eucharistic Adoration. This book is the best resource I have ever encountered for support of this beautiful Catholic tradition.

This book was assembled by the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration who are dedicated to a loving witness to Christ's Eucharistic Presence.

It starts with this quote by J.R.R. Tolkien:
"I put before you the one great thing to love on earth: the Blessed Sacrament... There you will find romance, glory, honor, fidelity, and the true way of all your loves on earth."

I have used it for the last 6 months and many times, it brought tears of appreciation to my eyes.

Such a beautiful collection of essays, prayers, and meditations to help one better appreciate the wonderful gift Our Lord has given us in the Holy Eucharist! I highly recommend this dear little book to anyone wanting to deepen their devotion or simply looking for a good read during Adoration.

To me, this book helps Catholic readers enrich their spiritual lives through Eucharistic Adoration. I say this because it compiles relevant scripture, traditional Church teachings, and the lives of saints, which together, create a comprehensive resource Catholics will surely appreciate. I also like that the book offers guidance on how to spend time in the presence of the Eucharist. It does so by including prayers, reflections, and hymns for Adoration.

I got this book as I find solace during Eucharistic Adoration and I wanted to do it with proper guidance from tradition. Because for me, spending time at the adoration chapel reminds me of Jesus' sacrifice for all of our sins. Just sitting there and meditating, I feel like I am able to solidify my direct personal relationship with Jesus through His presence. This book allowed me to appreciate this. It helped me deepen my understanding of Adoration.

I recommend this to those who like me would like to deepen their faith and learn more about Eucharistic Adoration. God bless you!

I have direly wanted to motivate myself to go to Holy Hour more, so I asked for this book for Christmas. It has been a huge inspiration for me. I absolutely have brought this with me every time I go for Eucharistic adoration.

Eucharistic Adoration is a beautiful practice that I have always struggled with. The few times I have placed myself in front of the Blessed Sacrament, my mind immedtiately begins to wander. I try and force myself to pray and just clear my mind, but the distractions unfortunately kept coming. I knew I had to find a book to help with this if I ever was going to have any kind of success at adoration. Recently, TAN Books published the Manual for Eucharistic Adoration, and I knew that I had to give this book a try.

The manual is divided into two parts - 1. Preparing for Eucharistic Adoration and 2. Aids in Eucharistic Adoration. It then provides a brief explanation on how to properly use this book. In a nutshell, it says that the first part helps you better understand the importance of this devotion, and the second part provides Scripture, prayer, and texts to help you grow in this devotion. I found Chapter 5: Guidelines for Adoration to be particularly helpful. In this chapter, it clears up the misconception that love, fervor, and devotion are required for adoration. Adoration is an act though, and not a sentiment or emotion. I also found the different meditations and devotions in the last chapter to be extremely helpful, as it helped to focus my thoughts and provided me with words I was lacking.

The Manual for Eucharistic Adoration is a marvelous book that will prove beneficial to veterans and novices alike. It contains a nice blend of history and practical spirituality to help you grow closer to God. It is also beautiful in presentation with Premium UltraSoft leather, sewn binding, and a ribbon bookmark. Probably best of all is that it's small enough to fit into a pocket or purse, so that you can always have it handy if you feel the sudden desire to go to Eucharistic Adoration. I would pair this book with the Manual for Spiritual Warfare and consider getting these books for the recent high school graduate in your life, because college can be a perilous time, and they will need all the help they can get. You could also package them together as a wedding, ordination, or just a birthday gift. Any Catholic will find great treasure in both of these books.

A beautiful manual that helped me love the Holy Eucharist more and more. I will definitely be using this when I go into adoration. 🖊 This manual was created by The Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration. I found this book straightforward and immensely useful, plus it was easy to read and use. However, the inclusion of “The Luminous Mysteries” were not imperative. We are fortunate in our parish to have Eucharistic Adoration 24 hours per day in the chapel specifically set up for adoration. But why my three-star review? The quotes by J.R.R. Tolkien. Why? Such a turn off.
