My name is Mia and I'm a psychology student with a deep-seated love of skateboarding. Partial to the amateur scene, I take a friend to a local competition to see my heart throb, Mike Onomato, skate. When a new competitor steals the show, though, I find myself captivated. That is, until he sits behind me in the first class of the semester. FML.
My name is Ian and I'm young, brash, and tattooed. An upstart in the skating community, I'm driven to a level beyond that of any other amateur on the scene. Being a skater isn’t what my lawyer father had in mind for my future, though. Now, a pre-law student at the local university, I'm stepping up his game, not only for my own liberation, but for the sake of the first woman I ever loved. When I'm forced to work together on a school project with Mia, the only thing I can think about is how much I want to Grind her.
Unfortunately she isn't that easy...
* This sexy steamy bad boy romance is perfect for fans of Sabrina Paige, Winter Renshaw, Vanessa Waltz, Sosie Frost, Joanna Blake and Emilia Kincade*
Ian is a skater. Mia is a fan of skateboarding. Mia tries to go to all the skateboarding events.
Mia meets Ian at one of the competitions but does not realize that Ian is a skater. Once Ian takes the course Mia is impressed.
Mia and Ian have a class together and get assigned as partners for a paper.
Abby is Mia’s best friend even though they are not sure why they are friends. Abby tries to get with Ian. (Sounds like a girl I knew once, that did not end well.)
Rob is Ian’s best friend and they have a very strange friendship as most males do. They can beat the crap out of each other then all is forgiven.
Mia’s dad is very overbearing/over protective. I actually really dislike him. But not as much as Ian’s dad. Neither father is happy about the two hanging out together.
Once they start a relationship things are rocky but it all has to work out in the end for our HEA.
There is some mildly steamy parts but I would say PG17.
From the park to the world stage with skateboarders & Claire Adams.
If you're not it's a great read-you're looking for a story about skateboarding, then Grind is definitely for you & even if you're not, it's a great read, skateboarding language & all. Mia & Ian are partnered up in a class project & both their fathers get the wrong idea, but they manage to sort it all out. Enjoy a light hearted look at a new sport - it's even made it to the Olympics.
Mia loves watching skaters and when she goes to a competition she meets Ian but she wants nothing to do with him. It's not until they meet again in class and Mia isn't impressed. Ian likes Mia there is something about her but his dad and her dad don't want them together and puts doubt in Mia's head. Mia doesn't want to hurt Ian career and decides to end it but they are working on a project that has them working together. Abby, Mia's so called friend I wanted to snack her around for what she did and Rob Ian's friend was an #ass too. They both want each other, can they be together and will Ian win the biggest competition to help him with his mom? Really good story that had me reading in one day
3 stars. Another solid read from Me Adams but oh did this make me feel old!! Mia is a fan of skateboarding and Ian wants to be its next rising star, the two also happen to be partnered on an assignment in their psychology class. Although I enjoyed this read the characters and storyline didn't pull me in the way other books by this author have. The descriptions of the skateboarding moves left me feeling a little lost as I couldn't actually visualize them and this is where I started to feel my age LOL! The story and characters seemed to be a little all over the place at times but I really did like the epilogue. Enjoyed this read but didn't love it.
Mia is a twenty year old skater chick so loves skate boarding. When she is at a skating exhibition she's watching her teenage dream skater when a boy starts talking to her and when she turns around all he does is check out her chest. Furious she ignores him moves to a different spot and watches the exhibition. When she learns his name is Ian and he can skate she in awe. When college stars and they have a class together and when he opens his, mouth to speak she's annoyed. Ian wants to become pro but his dad wants him to grow up. Can these two have a relationship? And can it work? Need to read great book.
Called a box series?? Don't be fooled. It's barely a book. The storytelling is very poor YA romance but the rating is more NA. Lots of skater talk at the front and back end of the book for those who know and love it. Will be filler or confusing for those who don't. Has potential but wasn't told well. Doesn't flow and lots of strange sentence breaks. Needs a good editor. Also way to many 'easy breakup' then 'on again' moments. Quick read. Would suggest for younger YA readers moving into more mature topics but not writing.
This is a story of 2 university students who are both into skate boarding (one is an amateur, the other is trying to turn pro). They are partnered on a school assignment so they have to work together. Their relationship is very conflicted and both are inaccurately judged and condemned by the other’s father. Despite all the roadblocks put in their way by their fathers and themselves, they have an on again off again relationship and both learn so much about themselves and each other.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
So much potential but just didn't work for me. There was a lot of detail for some stuff like the birding technical speak and the college course (at one point felt like I was the one taking the psychology course).
The heroine was so fickle. I got really sick of her sudden mood changes and the fact the once she changed her mind the answer was sex.
Lastly there was a huge life changing event in the epilogue which was covered in one sentence and not clearly as I still don't know gender (both he and she were used) due to dodgy editing. One sentence. Seriously....

The book is the best ever loved so will you read and enjoy it about a skater and a pretty girl but yt? I forgot he is a hunk oh to be younger they have there ups and down both father forbid them seeing each other but things worked out and got a baby girl he won the composition and thing are good I hope you enjoy the book and author as much as I do she great enjoy Margie
I enjoyed the book, funny how parents are sometimes wrong in who fall in love with when they see that the person we choice is a good choice. Never judge a person by the way they look its what's inside that matters. I recommended this book to all the skater lover out there, follow your dreams and never give up.
This book I couldn't put down it is like u r in the book while reading it I gave it five stars coz I loved it I would recommend it to anyone that likes Claire Adams
