Fifteen years ago, two infants were found, abandoned but otherwise healthy, in a duffel bag at an interstate rest stop. Since then, the two have grown into normal teenagers. Well, not quite normal. They can do things that aren’t humanly possible. In an effort to learn who—or what—they are, the twins follow the trail of a cold case that investigators gave up on years before. In the process, they uncover secrets and dangers that could threaten not just their lives, but the very existence of their kind.
Finley Aaron grew up reading books of all sorts and believes the best stories are in the ones in which things happen. And the best sorts of things to happen in books are the very things that so rarely happen in real life, for they christen the doldrums of our days with that spark of life that reminds us things can happen to us, too, if we are trained and ready when the adventures come to meet us. Finley likes to laugh, and doesn't mind at all if readers laugh while reading these books, for in fact they were written with an impish, barely-suppressed humor that peeks out and winks at odd moments. If you're paying attention you'll spot them before they duck away
Prime Reading | This is one of those books that you get really excited about when you're young, because it's such a cool idea, but when you reread it as an adult you cringe because the actual writing is really poor.
I found that I didn't want to put the book down until I learned more about the twins and their families. To have two families and learn turn their dad is an evil character is an excellent start to a series. I especially was pleased Finley Aaron has such a great understanding of adoptive parents and the deep love they can have for the children they choose to be part of their lives. The next book also begins with brother and sister surviving an airplane crash and the dragon the boy's becoming is why. I will be looking forward to finding this book also.
The reading takes time to get used to as it in first person view and written like he talking to himself. At least first chapter or 2 was like that. The book is very interesting and cant wait for book 2 but is this sequel to book 1 or book 2 in the series that can be stand alone? If you love dragons this book for you. I wanna see more dragons in dragon form. :)
This was another book that seemed to end too quick. It was a good book about twins, biological parents, adopted parents and dragons. Can't wait to read the next book.
I have greatly enjoyed Finley Aaron's dragon stories. I've read all of the books in the Dragon Eye series and have been looking forward to this book, Foundlings, which should have been the start of a new series. The story follows two teen siblings -- Judith and Rudyard -- who were found as infants in a duffel bag and are now searching for their birth parents. Geared toward the middle school+ audience, the story is still suspenseful and detailed. Digging into the past opens them up to danger and intrigue and the two must save the world from evil. Though not a new storyline, it is a fun and exciting read, especially if you like dragons. Unfortunately, the author seems to have disappeared. This was released in 2016 and was supposed to be the beginning of a series but nothing has come of that. If anyone knows what happened to Ms. (Mr?) Aaron, would you please share?
This was an unexpected pleasure. I love teenage and young adult books, and this one was perhaps good for the middle school audience, too, but as an (older) adult, I liked it just fine. It has a believable, entertaining plot and meshes nicely with the Dragon's Eye series books, but is a standalone book.
Through the Dragon Eye series we meet characters that you wish you had more information on. This gives that background to a couple key characters. Another great adventure and read. I am going to enjoy this new series as well.
I want to read more but I can't find anything published after 2017. Does anyone know if this author is still writing? The first chapter of the second (purported ) book NEMESIS was at the end of this book but it appears to not exist.
I can't remember the year I first read this book. I gave it five stars then and I for sure give it five star's again today. You got to read it if you like to believe in Dragon's. This will keep you dreaming.
