⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Surrender, book 3 of 3. The intense conclusion to Ella & her mysterious savior Kayden’s quest for truth & redemption!

In Careless Whispers, book 1-2 (book 1) Ella Ferguson woke up in Italy with amnesia. A stranger, treasure hunter and head of The Underground of treasure hunters, Kayden Wilkens, Hawk, claimed to have found her and made it his mission to protect her. While their attraction brewed it became a quest for answers of what happened, who she is and who is out to hurt her?
Surrender, book 3 is the conclusion to their saga. It picks up at book 2’s ending and is a roller-coaster race against time. Set against the backdrop of Ella’s memory returning, their love will be tested with villains and traitors at their heels as they chase elusive truths and seek a way out of their predicaments.
Eight words to describe Kayden Wilkens, Hawk: charming, commanding, secretive, possessive, enigmatic, intense, aloof and dirty-talker.

Yet despite all the uncertainty and violence a romance has blossomed. It ends with answers and resolutions, peace and love, but I’d welcome an epilogue further into their future and there are hints that we might get just that in the future.

Surrender is the third and final book in the Careless Whispers Series. This explosive conclusion offers a perfect blend of action, romance, passion, and intrigue.

With Kayden by her side, it seems as though she has all of the pieces of her life in front of her she only needs to put them all together. Even with their blissful connection, Kayden is on high alert. Concerned for her safety, he brings his men together to set up a plan to protect Ella and find the missing necklace before it lands in the hands of his nemesis. Kayden desperately wants Ella to trust him to keep her safe. As the mystery of her past is revealed, Kayden and Ella must prepare for anything and everything that will stand in their way.

The passion between Kayden and Ella is explosive, and the mafia elements enhanced the story greatly with its fast paced action and Kayden's alpha male protective spirit! I have been engrossed by this series since the very first book in the series Denial. The character connections are strong, and I was greatly intrigued by the crossover characters from the Inside Out Series. If you are a fan of mafia romance, passion, complex characters and an intriguing plot, than this series is a must read for you!
I highly recommend Surrender and the entire Careless Whispers Series to all my reading friends. This was my first Lisa Renee Jones series, and now that I have had a taste of this author's work, I certainly look forward to checking out more!

A spine-tingling romantic suspense that had me at the edge of my seat with its fantastic mix of sizzling chemistry and romance, deception and danger, and a badass heroine that should not be missed.
As head of the underground Hunter organization, Kayden Wilkens, had many secrets until Ella. He found her under in a dark alley with severe amnesia. He knew she’s the key to finding a three billion dollar necklace several powerful and evil men are after. He never expected to fall in love with her while she was in his care, but as she struggles to regain her memory she’s also found a place in his heart and in his dangerous life. There are no more secrets between them, but can he keep her safe from the perils of his world?
As Ella Ferguson finds refuge, love and passion in the arms of Kayden she also finds the will to take charge of her life alongside of him, memories intact or not. Those memories though are not just key to finding the valuable necklace, but also vital for her and her best friend’s survival and victory over the madman who wants to own both the necklace and Ella.
I was captivated by this series from start to finish. So much uncertainty shrouding Ella, so many things hinged on her recovering her memories, just so much anticipation for the final instalment of this trilogy which Lisa Renee Jones delivers in this sensual and fast paced story that reveal shocking twists, turns and truths.
Surrender continues where Demand left off with non-stop action. Two warring stepbrothers and mafia lords have Ella in their sights, one just wants her to help him get his hands on the butterfly necklace but Neuville of the French mob, who had previously imprisoned her, wants the necklace and Ella and he’ll stop at nothing, corrupting the seemingly incorruptible and sparing no lives to get what he wants. Making Kayden maneuver the Underground to take down bad guys while Ella has a sinking suspicion they can only count on each other to do so. To make matters worse her best friend Sara has landed on European soil with her husband, putting them too close to danger.
On the romance side, I loved how Ella and Kayden’s bond keeps getting stronger, how much they both have come to trust each other despite their rocky beginning. They still have a part of Ella’s past to contend with but they’re both committed to move forward in their relationship and protect one another no matter what comes at them. Together they’re explosively hot and deliciously sweet and confirming that Ella is as kick @ss as we suspected in the previous book and them some is an added bonus.
This last book in the trilogy had many loose ends to tie which it did. With its complex nature involving the Italian and French mafia, politics and politicians, and the Underground itself, the author skillfully leads the reader through this thrilling ride, thankfully recapitulating on previous events and characters while pulling back layer upon layer that had me flipping pages like a crazy person.

I know I am just one of many who were eagerly anticipating this conclusion to Ella and Kayden's saga. It picked up around where Demand ended: Ella and Sara are on the phone and it's told in Sara's POV. Quelle Surprise! I liked getting some glimpses of Sara (not really, you know I wanted to see Chris) in this one.
We're then immediately thrust back into the dynamic of Ella and Kayden's relationship. She's still struggling to remember and ultimately the right triggers are conveniently helping the cause. He's doing everything in his power as the Hawk to end her torment and to provide her with safety and security, as well as be the supportive, caring and considerate man that loves and is loved by her. Their love and connection was as strong as ever, despite her habitual hesitations. Their chemistry was as off-the-charts as ever.
On the suspense side, a plan finally falls into place, even considering the unpredictable nature of the players involved. Niccolo is still expecting Kayden and Ella to eliminate his brother, Neuville, and provide him with the necklace. They just need to stay one step ahead of him. Unfortunately, Neuville is a psycho, no one is safe, and I was doubting who could be trusted.
I know I'm going against the grain. I know that I will be of the minority. I'm actually used to that, but I didn't love this book. As much as I had looked forward to this story, it felt anti-climactic. It left me still yearning for a conclusion. As beautifully written as it was, I wasn't wowed. This had a lot to do with the redundancy of Ella's inner thoughts (am I really the only one who was annoyed?) and the lack of an effective ending. It didn't touch me. I wasn't satisfied with the way things were left in the end. The only thing that gave me hope is the hint that the author left that there may be an epilogue for this couple in the future.
This was an enjoyable and entertaining conclusion with an action scene that highlighted Ella's badassness. There were appropriate doses of love and forever between her and Kayden and I was still very much in love with his character. I'm crossing my fingers for a future epilogue!!

4.0 "Surrender" Stars!!!
Surrender is the perfect conclusion to Kayden and Ella's story and I could not ask for more better ending. I love it and once again Lisa Renee Jones proved us what great writer she is. In as much as I wanted this book to be a one book standalone, I was glad this becomes a trilogy. I love the anticipation of waiting for the next book and the same time I love how the book doesn't feel like rushed.
And that's how I felt with Surrender. It picked up right after the second book and I appreciated how the author summarizes the previous books before we can delve further to the next one. Safe to say, that regardless how long we have waited for this book to be released we are once again getting glimpses of the previous story enough to go on further to the next one without feeling lost. Aaand, I love how it was written, and I was engrossed and captivated just like I once been with the previous two books. The suspense and mystery was keeping me in the edge and the romance feels so dreamy and just fantastic. Add up a bad-ass hero and heroine coupled with high sexual tension and steamy sex and all I can say was this is Lisa Renee Jones and her masterpiece, it may be the end of the series but I can't keep myself begging for more.
True, Lisa Renee Jones did not disappoint us with this ending. From the very start, there's just this pull that gravitated me towards this book. It's a page turner and while reading I cannot help myself from piecing up the puzzles and solving the mysteries, proof enough that I was so hooked. I even love the portrayal of deceit and betrayal of this story because really it has woken up my feelings. I was just so invested that I feel like I was Ella. You cannot blame me , because this woman's character portrayal was just great. And to be paired up with Kayden? Holy smokes! But that man becomes my fantasy the moment I started reading the first book of this series. And Sarah and Chris comeback!!! Whoa!! I won't talk more so I cannot spoil you anything. Just this, if you have wanted the ending of this book so badly, you are on the right track. Don't miss the revelations, the twists and turns. Surrender is just the perfect ending of this series. Suspenseful from every turn of the pages with just the right blend of danger, sexiness, heat and romance.

What an incredible end to the series. I love how Ella ended up to be way more than was lead to believe at the start. I enjoy reading about empowered heroines. The fact that as powerful as Kayden was, he never took away from Ella's abilities, made it even better. Great series!

I loved reading this conclusion to another wonderful series by Lisa Renee Jones. This series has everything... romance, suspense, a sassy and strong heroine, a hot and protective hero, chemistry and a great story line.
In this book Ella gets more flashbacks until the puzzle is solved. But who can be trusted and who can’t while gaining new information. Will Kayden see how strong she really is? Will their relationship be strong enough with all the secrets revealed?
What I did miss was an epilogue. This couple has captivated me 3 books long and for me personally it ends to abrupt. They finally get their HEA but I would have loved and epilogue to see in their future. Let’s hope to read more about them in another book... Speaking about another book. I wouldn’t mind a book on Sasha and Adriel. Please, please, please ... write their story for us!
I also loved reading more about Chris and Sara from the “Inside Out” series which is also worth reading if you haven’t already .. If you haven’t read that series yet I would suggest to start there since this series is a spin-off of the Inside Out series.

At last, what we have been waiting for on pins and needles since Book 1, Denial: Ella's complete memories! Surrender ends a romantic suspense series that has intrigued and captivated me since the beginning. Using Lisa Renee Jones' signature fast-paced action and erotic-filled suspense, we go through a thrill ride of scenes that lead to the reveal of the whole truth. Additionally, for those who have had the pleasure of reading the Inside Out Series, you will be delighted to know that Chris and Sara, along with Blake Walker of the Tall, Dark & Deadly Series also play a role in Surrender.
Surrender picks up where Demand ends. Ella knows that she is somehow in the middle of two mafia stepbrothers: Niccolo, who runs the Italian mob, and Neuville, who runs the French mob. She also believes that she may have some connection to the CIA and that the butterfly necklace factors into everything. As if matters couldn't be anymore dire, she also knows that Blake Walker's tracking her down at Chris' and Sara's insistence has somehow led to the Jackals (a corrupt pirate group who is willing to double cross anyone at the behest of the highest bidder) getting involved, so it's only a matter of time before Neuville finds her. Will Ella be able to figure out all the pieces of the puzzle, including the significance of the butterfly necklace before it is too late?
All in all, Surrender completes a good romantic suspense series with a realistic message. Not all allies are allies or all enemies, enemies or any one character all evil or good. As is always the case in fiction, as in life, the truth lies somewhere in between in the grayness where good and evil meet. Just what is the truth and whether that truth will be an end to Ella's relationship with Kayden is finally all laid bare for her fans of this series to finally revel in.

Lisa Renee Jones is one of my favorite authors in the romantic suspense genre. She tells such amazing stories that are loaded with detail, drama, suspense, and amazing love that we all wish we had.
This book is a sequel and as part of the series, you simply must read the whole thing to understand with the series is about and to be able to follow along. She crafts a twisty story that is full of mystery, lies, manipulation, crime, darkness, betrayal, and a deep connection to between two people that are bound to each other.
There’s never enough time to become bored in a Lisa Renee Jones book. She is a wonderful craftsman of the written word and a great storyteller that weaves in so many different aspects that you just have to keep reading.
With strong, unique, bad ass characters, this story is like no other. You feel the intense connection between Kayden and Ella and you can only cheer them on hoping for the best HEA. And thankfully we are not disappointed.
An awesome read and a wonderful series. Here’s hoping the author brings these characters together again in future series.

And we're back with Ella & Kayden! I didn't do a re-read of book #2 this time! Lisa does a quick summary in the beginning - that was all I needed to remember!
First we're in Paris with Sara and Chris! *SIGH*
Remember? Ella was allowed a short phone call to her old friend at the end of the 2nd book!
And now that Sara knows that Ella's alive, we go back to Rome.
To try keeping everybody safe and to find this god-damn necklace that started all this mess.
The 300-million-dollar-butterfly-necklace!
Kayden kind of has to work together with italian mobster Niccolo to destroy the other mob-brother - who kept Ella as a slave before Kayden found her! And everybody wants the necklace.
And then there's also Ella's fear that she's a CIA agent and that it would somehow come in the way of her releationship with Kayden. But she still only remembers tiny little bits here and there.
So, we're very busy with very suspensy and sexy things until we can finally get our Happily Ever After!!!!

Great final book in this series!
It was a non-stop suspense mystery again!
You can't stop reading because you just HAVE to know what's behind everything. And of course more importantly for us romance fans - will there be a happy end?
Ha, of course there will be a happy end for our darlings. But it takes us a very long time until everything is cleared up and every bad guy is dealt with.
But of course we have a lot of (sexy) fun while we're fighting for our Happily Ever After! ☺
If I had to name some things I didn't like? Not really ... it was just a bit too wordy. I think we could've cut a few sentences on every page. You don't get to take a breath or a second to take a sip of coffee. Every page is sooo full of words. But I still loved the story!
SURRENDER was the perfect ending for Ella & Kayden! Very sexy & mysterious & exciting & adorable! Great series!
Can't wait to see what Lisa will have for us next!

Unbelievable! I don’t think there is any other word to describe the way Lisa Renee Jones ended the Careless Whisper series. All the twists and turns, all the secrets are revealed as Ella becomes Lady Hawk and takes her place within The Underground.
Surprised isn’t a strong enough word as Ella gets her memory back and we find out just who she really is and what exactly happened to her as she headed off to Paris. Sara and Chris Merit are finally brought into the story along with our Tall, Dark and Deadly Blake Walker. A reunion, of sorts, to bring both the Inside Out Series and Careless Whispers stories to an end. But, there is a part of me that hopes that Ms. Jones revisits all the players here. To me, there were still some unanswered questions and I would truly love to see the ultimate HEA for Ella and Kayden. God knows that they went through enough to get there.
I would also love to see where she would take someone like Giada. She may have redeemed her but I think there is more to her than meets the eye. Then there is Sasha and Adriel. Just what are they up to? As for Gallo, did he really just accept everything and walk away? Yes, too many unanswered questions and huge openings for Lisa Renee Jones to thrill us with more of the Merits, the Wilkens and the Walkers.
I love the way LRJ weaves a story. The way she writes romantic suspense is flawless. There is never a crack in the story and she always makes sure the story flows. She keeps you turning page after page and anticipating just where she is going to take the story. I, seriously, had no idea where she was taking Surrender until the end. Sign of a wonderful author? Most definitely! Knowing that I will always get a well-thought-out story, a tale with heart and soul, Lisa Renee Jones will always be a go-to author for me.

What will she remember next? What is her connection to this necklace? These, and many others, are questions we've been asking from the very beginning, and it all comes to a head in SURRENDER. Everything is kicked up a notch - the sex, the suspense, the mystery, the intrigue, the passion. Despite so many obstacles, Kayden and Ella's love grows deeper with each turn of the page. These two together are magical, explosive, and delightful. I can't get enough of their intense love for one another. And that shines through page by page. Surrender is the epic finale of the "Careless Whispers" trilogy and in this book we finally get to see what happens in the epic conclusion in the story of Kayden and Ella. We have seen this couple go through their ups and downs while also trying to hunt down the priceless necklace and the secrets that come with locating it. Surrender starts off from where "Demand" left off and we learn some precious truths about Ella, she is a spy for the U.S. Government and now tensions are high because she wonders how on earth she can be with Kayden when she is the enemy. But Kayden is a man who will fight for his woman at ALL costs and never give up and that determination is what ends up winning in the end and was so brilliantly written by this delightful author.

What I Loved
This book was thrilling, edgy and full of surprises that not even I was expecting and I have read quite a few of this authors' books. What I truly admire about Lisa Renee Jones is her books aren't ever the same and she always seems to be able to surprise me when I don't expect it to happen. The plot is what truly made this book a punch in the chest for the reader. There are many aspects that really come together in this story. We see Ella's memory come back fully, we see how protective and tender Kayden is, we see the true strength that has always been within Ella. We see the friendship between her and Sara (and especially after seeing some of the glimpses of Marcus, Sara and Chris ---I know what series I am reading next haha because wow she really made it all come together and kept me yearning for so much more. The villain in the story is truly evil and cunning so it made what happens in the third act so thrilling and edgy and whew it was intense but I can always rely on this author to take me into those tight spots that I actually love to read.

Like the previous two books, this narrator really brings this author's characters to life and it was astounding and I had a blast with it.

Early Book Review: 5+++ Stars
WHAT A RIDE!!! Oh. My. God. This book! I was on edge the entire time I read it. I didn’t sleep, I didn’t work, I only read. It was the perfect kind of ending for Ella and Kayden’s story. I never expected how this story wound up and I am so happy with it. No, sorry, happy is not the word, I’m satisfied, fulfilled, ecstatic, marveled with Surrender and the whole Careless Whispers Series. Lisa Renee Jones wrote one of the most suspenseful, stressful, erotic and astounding series ever.
I won’t say anything about the events in this book, every single person who read it deserves to experience everything first handed. But I can tell that all the questions were answered, justice was made, the good people won and the bad guys paid for their crimes.
There’s a huge surprise for the Inside Out Series fans. Chris and Sara’s cameos are HUGE and I loved every single moment they were in this book.
Ella and Kayden’s romance was EVERYTHING. Their relationship was challenged so many times, but their love is bigger than any trouble, any circumstance, and more powerful than any of their enemies.
*sighhhhh* This book!! This series!! Soooo perfect!! I will def repeat the whole series and for sure I’ll find more details and information I missed the first time I read it and I’ll love it even more.

Surrender is the conclusion of the Careless Whispers series. This series should be read in order.
In Surrender, Ella is finally able to recover her memory. At first, it's as flashbacks but by the end, she knows everything she was missing.
Everyone wants to know where she hid the three billion dollar butterfly necklace. Kayden to return it to the rightful owners while the two mobsters want it to further gain more power. Niccolo is head of the Italian mafia and Neuville from the French mafia.
Ella knows Neuville is the man who had her captured and treated her as a slave. She tries really hard to avoid fearing him. She doesn't want to give him any power over her.
Ella is not sure she's friend or foe to Kayden. She believes herself to be a CIA agent. She doesn't want to jeopardize Kayden's love for her or put anyone in danger.
Kayden is determined to keep her safe at whatever cost necessary. He's willing to kill for her. He won't let Niccolo or Neuville have her.
Surrender had a lot of action and suspense. It also has a couple of Sara and Chris's cameos which made the story even better. Blake Walker also plays a part. I had no problems following the story line and all my questions were answered. I'm sad to see this characters go.

Well, I liked it. However, the story was very complicated, and publishing this book so far after book 2 means I forgot a lot of the plot and characters. There was a character list and descriptions in the front of the book, but even so it wasn't enough and there were some holes in my (very good) memory that I just accepted rather than go hunt for them in the previous book. Also, the fact that these three books strongly tie in to another set of the author's books (which I read and loved) means there is more detail to remember. Everything is intricately intertwined. And you can't zone out or take your "eye off the ball" for a second. I tried skimming a couple of times but you just can't. You would miss something important.
So basically, it took a monumental effort to read this and keep track of the plot and characters. But the thing is, I made that monumental effort because the writing was that good. I'd suggest reading the series but reading the books in close succession.

This series should be read in order to make it more enjoyable. Ella’s and Kayden’s adventures are quite chaotic and
Erotic.
The SCM, Swiss cheese memory continues with Ella’s visions emerging at the most inopportune moments in this fascinating story. Every time she remembers something, chaos ensues. Squeezing out memory loss puzzles reveal partial elements to the end of the book.
It’s fun to see Chris and Sara as well as other characters from Careless Whispers and Inside Out series. There are so many factions that are partners and or enemies. Figuring out what faction individual’s are in, is also part of the mystery.

I’m officially sad. I knew there was a mole in The Underground but I really didn’t want it to be one of the close people as I’ve grown really attached to everyone so I was pretty sad on who the real mole was. For a second I was scared it was Marabelle as it seemed all the pointers were at her. Still I’m sad on how it ended out and what happened to the mole (No spoilers from me there). Also the ending seemed a little bit too easily wrapped up. Everything was. How she ended up being a highly skilled agent? Like I mentioned before, a tad bit overdone. Also like I mentioned before, I love the series too much that I choose ignore all of that. I also wished I read Chris and Sara’s and Blake’s and Kara’s story to get a background of them.
The reason I’m giving this a 4 and not a 5 star? Because of the ending. It seemed slightly too rushed out and I wished we at least got an epilogue as to how the others are also living along with Kayden and Ella as the Hawk and Lady Hawk.

Ella and Kayden are back and the action is hotter than ever! Ella is getting little pieces of her memory back but not enough to find the necklace and little things keep happening that make her feel like someone is watching her. They finally let Sara know she is alive but without too much conversation because if someone is listening they don't want Sara targeted. Kayden and Ella are closer than ever and that makes her fear for his and everyone else's safety. Everywhere they turn there are people that can't be trusted and now two pages of her journal are missing but no one has been in the rooms. There is a lot of undercover stuff that goes on and lots of romance to but you have to read it for yourself. As the plot thickens and the players are put into place it's a lot of planning because once it's ready the story is like a rollercoaster. This cannot be read as a standalone and the author even gives you a definition of the characters which helped a lot. I admired how strong a person Elle is and how dedicated Kayden is to her. - Reviewed by Linda

From the very first page of Denial to the last page in Surrender, Lisa Renee Jones has written a story that will draw you in and captivate your heart. Ms. Jones has the ability to make her readers feel every emotion that her characters are going through. You feel as if you have been transported into the story and all you can do is going along for the ride. Surrender is a fast-paced, action-packed, suspense story full of mystery, danger, passion, unexpected twists, love, and so much more. Questions to all your answers from the previous books will finally be answered.

The Careless Whispers series has held my attention from the very first page of Denial. I could never guess what was coming next, but I was fully invested in the characters, especially Ella who readers have known since Inside Out. Ella and Kayden really come into their own in Surrender, both showing their strength, determination, and true feelings towards one another. There are a lot of conflicts in Surrender, it gets very suspenseful, but every question readers have from Denial and Demand are answered. The unwinding mystery is as interesting as ever, especially as readers piece together Ella's memories. Then there's the action, if you love your action non-stop, Surrender is going to make you one happy Lisa Renee Jones fan.

if he’s tasted the doubt on my lips, as if he’s willing me to let it go, when I have tasted it on his as well.
Ella's memory is slowly returning, revealing the truths behind who she once was and what or who she was running from. But the memories don't tell her everything and she's left questioning who is an enemy and who is a friend, even wondering if she is more to Kayden than his trusted lover. Fearful of what she may uncover, she keeps her worries from Kayden, but the memories leave her exhausted and conflicted. With more than one member of the mob after her, she has to lean on The Underground for help, but her gut tells her someone within the walls are watching her.
Kayden wants to solve the mystery hidden inside Ella's memories and quickly, but he has to prioritize The Underground as the mob threats increase and his men fall into dangerous situations. Desperate to prove to her that his connection to her is only one of love, he faces every threat head on, even at the risk of finding a traitor in his midst.
Don't get me wrong, I love the main characters just as much as I did in the very beginning and I am so happy with how it wrapped up, but there was a lot going on in Surrender. This book had more villains than I knew what to do with, I had a hard time keeping them all straight. Then on top of that was the occasional shift in POV to Sara, who I was thrilled to interact with again, but just added another character's thoughts to keep track of. I normally beg for more characters in a book, but in this case it hindered the story for me. However, Lisa Renee Jones includes a character list, which is far more handy than you think it will be. Yay, we get Ella's memory finally, but it is thrown at the reader at a fast pace. It was so great to finally see Ella be true Ella, being firm in her decisions, but it did happen quickly and it was so easy to jumble up with the rest of the events.

Surrender wraps Ella's story, giving readers the answers they've been so desperate for, and the romance she deserves. Lisa Renee Jones is one of my one-click authors, she successfully weaves suspenseful romance stories that are one-part action, one-part sexy, and two-parts incredible writing.

This is the third and final installment to the Careless Whispers series. It is also, in my opinion, the most complex installment in the series. Once again, I’m grateful the author included a recap of the storyline, but also a character glossary, or sorts, to get the reader back up to speed.
Going into this book, I had a lot of questions. Most importantly:
Will Ella get her memory back?
What, if anything else, may Kayden be hiding?
Who can be trusted?
I don’t want to give anything away, but I can answer the last question. TRUST NO ONE!
There are so many villains in this story and how they connected gave me a headache, to be honest.
A and B are related.
C did a favor for D.
E is looking for revenge.
F is just plain greedy.
Then all of the above start making plans with one another. Making it very confusing.
And Kayden has links to several of them. Even with that said, I did trust Kayden. I know his heart is in the right place, protecting Ella. At the same time, he is also trying to prevent a complete shift in power, and therefore, can’t trust anyone with the elusive butterfly necklace.
While the main plot of the story is the necklace, Ella’s memory is the key to it all. I personally wasn’t fully convinced on how it came back to her in pieces. She would remember a small part of her past, and then go into a detailed explanation about that small part and how it ties to so much not previously revealed. I think it would have been more believable if the memories of her past came in small parts and opened up the gates to the rest. The whole “I know where the necklace is” came out of the blue and was a bit anticlimactic.
For fans of the Inside Out series, you’ll happy to know that Sara and Chris have significant parts in this book, and the culmination of this series ties up loose ends from their story as well. (Note: you don’t need to have read the Inside Out series to follow along with this one, but there will be some spoilers if you haven’t read it).
With all of the above, my favorite part of the story was learning the Ella is a badass. There were hints of this before, but it is now very clear, she knows what she’d doing. I loved her confidence in the most dire of circumstances and that she didn’t need a man to “save her”. Maybe just needed a little back up.
Overall, this was an enjoyable series and had my brain churning in high gear.

Surrender, the third and final book in the Careless Whispers series, is a sexy, edge-of-your-seat thrill-ride to the finish. Picking up where the second book leaves off, Ella’s memory is slowly returning. Her relationship with Kayden is put to the test. And, with the major puzzle pieces starting to fall into place, there is fresh danger and new questions with each revelation. There were even appearances from some of my favorite characters from the Inside Out series, Chris and Sara!
I fell in love with this series with the first book, Denial, and read the second book, Demand, as soon as I could get my hands on it. This author weaves a mystery that keeps me guessing as the pages fly by. You can’t help but be consumed with finding out all of the answers to all of the plot's riddles. I was blown away by some of the secrets that were revealed in this book! My only real criticism, and it's a minor one, is that I would have preferred that the POVs be only Ella and Kayden's.
With strong female characters, sexy, enigmatic alpha males, sex scenes that scorch the pages, and a plot so twisty you’ll be second guessing yourself over and over again, I highly recommend this book and this series.

Surrender is the exciting conclusion (well, that's a maybe) of the Careless Whispers series. There's suspense, action, intrigue, betrayal, and finally answers. There's a bonus for fans of the Inside Out series, where Ella's story began, Chris and Sara return.
Ella Ferguson's memories are slowly returning. She begins to piece together her past as she continues to hide from her present. Ella remains under the protection of Kayden Wilken. Kayden is a treasure hunter and the leader, aka the Hawk, of The underground. He's also the man who saved Ella and continues to protect her from the man who wants her back.
There are several players after the elusive butterfly necklace that is worth three million dollars. It had been stolen more than a decade ago from the British government and the last person who had it in their possession was Ella. Garner Neuville is the head of the French mob and will do anything to recapture Ella. He wants the necklace and it doesn't matter if she's under the Hawk's protection. Kayden will do anything to keep Ella safe. Don't under estimate Ella, she's a powerhouse. Lingering questions are answered and unexpected twists are revealed. My head was spinning with the conclusion.
