This boxed set is a very entertaining read and a great introduction to the author. 1. This series opener introduces Brinley Snow and Jason Anderson, the Anderson family and Jason's new company. Set in Montana, it could have been anywhere. Brinley invites Jason, her next door neighbor, to dinner when her date cancels at the last minute. But as the dishes are cleared, Jason's brother, a lead detective calls him and asks him to bring Brinley into the station for questioning about a recent murder. And as the investigation evolves, it becomes clear Brinley and her house, the scene of a 20 year old unsolved murder, are targets, but why? Is it her stalker, or the murderer, or both? 2. This book features West Anderson, the police detective brother, and Georgette "Gigi" Sydney, a waitress. When West stops by Gigi's apartment early one morning, he finds her packing her car to leave town, without telling him. But, being a detective, West soon has the reason. Gigi is running for her life from a psychopath. 3. The final book in the set features Travis, the oldest of the Anderson siblings. In book two he met Aubrey Greyson, Gigi's little sister. He hired Aubrey, "Bree", as his personal assistant and they have recently started dating. Now, they are in Florida to celebrate the birthday of Travis' friend and mentor. But at the party, Martin's grandson-in-law is murdered, and the police are looking at Gigi as a person of interest. And Travis will move heaven and earth to clear her.
First was great! Second was good! But, the third one kind of wimped out! To me it just ambled, not really getting to the point or getting anywhere! Travis was the eldest, the daredevil, (so to speak) But he seemed boring! Stuck in a deep rut! A couple of times I thought it would get exciting, but it would frizzle out! And Aubrey, boring, for a person that had been in system, that was suppose to be around the park, so to speak, to much of a washout!
Don’t get me wrong, I liked the stories, but was not expecting them to get mundane! They should have gotten better as the series went on! Not wash out!
This was an interesting take on “cowboys” they had the words but don’t live on a ranch. Book one was my favorite as I found it to be the most intriguing. The characters in all three books were believable but none of them really stuck out as memorable.
Pleasantly surprised by this book. Cowboys, cops, criminals. Abusive men. Very strong women. Men who protect the women they love. Hot sexy men. Feisty women. I would recommend this book for all to read
I love all three books. The characters are brilliant and the stories flowed well. They all had great drama, action romance and intrigue. There is never a dull moment while I read.
Enjoyed the story which was easy to follow and all the clues led to a satisfying conclusion. I liked the characters and look forward to reading more about them in Book 2 of the series.
I didn’t care for the first 2 books but the 3 book was much better. Just wish the author gave us a look into the weddings of the 3 Anderson’s men and their girls.
What I liked about these books is that 2 out of 3 of them started with the two main characters already in a romantic relationship. So often books are just the hero and heroine pussyfooting around each other and then they finally get together in the last chapter or even worse - the last page. My favourite part of a book is seeing the ups and downs of the relationship itself. So this book delivered the goods for me.
There are some elements that I find a tad silly. The typical alpha male who thinks he's too broken and the heroine deserves better trope. The fact that the heroines have their names replaced with 'Baby' early on. And there's plenty of words wasted on just how damn attractive everyone is. I thought about doing a word count for 'pretty' but decided I didn't want to know how often it appeared. Also of course the heroes are approx. ten years older than the heroines.
