MY GOODNESS!!

I am a SUCKA for romance novels, especially the ones where there is a little bit of heartbreak thrown in there (don't ask me why because idk). Anyway, with that being said, this book was perfect for me!! I went through so many emotions reading this. Alayziah just wanted to be loved and sadly, she was not loved the way she deserved to be. My heart went out to her because she was such a good person- sweet, caring, loving...yet none of the men she found herself with were worth her time. Of course when the kind of love she deserved did find her, she wasn't exactly ready for it. I kind of wanted to knock her upside the head a couple of times (lol) but really, she was hopelessly in love with a man who she could not let go of, even though she needed to.
I cannot wait for part two because I am rooting for her and a certain someone- and I hope they both get their HEA together.
I won't say anything else because I don't want to ruin the story for anyone else. Just know that this book is really, really good and will definitely be added to my favorites.

These people were taking me through it. Alayziah had been through so much, but she frustrated me at times. I believe Alex loved her, but he was dealing with his own issues. Carmen was crazy, and she got on my nerves too. I thought Jabari was cool, but he wasn't her forever. Now, Rell, he wasn't about to play with her, and her loved her the way she needed. I can't wait to read the next book.

Part one was complicated.....

Since I had a little trouble reviewing each part separately in the last series I will be leaving one long ass review for this series.

Part One
I am NOT feeling Alayziah in part one of this series. Maybe because I have no tolerance for weak women but girl...you KNEW this man was engaged and you befriended him. Then he started with the lies and you fell for them AND him. Saw them together and she was expecting so you HAD to know what he told you were lies but you still were hung up on him. You tried to move on, even found a good man, Mr. No Good came back and you still couldn't get over him? Well what they say about karma? That chick fixed him and completely BROKE you, now what? Guess I will find out in part 2. Hopefully she can get it together.
Part two
Yeah....she did it, Alayziah redeemed herself. Too bad it too Mr. No Good dying for her to do so. Still she did it AND allowed the love of a better man for her Rell, into her life and heart and the rest is Herstory. Jabari though....shady, leading Al into a trap but smart by recording even shadier Carmen. I would have done her right where she was but they did the right thing by turing her over to the law. It was quite nice to have appearances of Bishop and Kai and read their son was born. Now I am even more ecstatic to read of Khalil and Imani and also Layyah and Isreal.

I love this book so much! Alayziah had been through so much. She's started off so carefree, and free spirited, and so naive in a way, that it was so refreshing. However, after getting mistreated so many times, she became afraid to let anyone get close to her, to even think about love. I'm so glad that she gave it one more chance, because that ended up being her king.

So many times someone gives themselves so willing, just to be mistreated time and time again. When the right person have to suffer from all the previous hurt and pain. The right one will need patience, and a since of understanding, but with time, it'll be worthwhile. I can't believe that this was B.Love's first novel! Wow, I'm definitely impressed and I've read a lot of books...her destiny is to write.

This was honestly one of the best books I’ve ever read!!!! That’s saying a lot considering that I’m seriously picky and read sooo many books it’s crazy! I almost want to write B. Love personally and tell her she is my new author bae. Seriously you will not be disappointed. Poetry is my first love so I was all over this novel. Mere words are unable to describe the MASTERPIECE that was created!!!!!

I don't even have the words to describe my emotional state at this moment. People who aren't avid readers would probably look at me with a side eye and ask me what am I talking about. My other fellow lovers of a good book would immediately grasp what I was trying to convey. From the beginning of the story one thing was evident and it was that Alayziah wore her heart on her sleeve and had a tremendous capacity to love. Let's just be real how many women would have walked in and found their man in a compromising position without going completely POSTAL!!! The fact that she was able to step back and realize that her heart truly wasn't vested in her relationship with Andrew showed a serious amount of maturity on her part. She was even able to remain cordial and friendly with him even after being the very wronged party in the relationship. Her love for Alex was so all encompassing and consuming that I hope I NEVER experience feelings of this magnitude. She lost herself and gave every ounce of her being to this man to the point that she was left shattered and broken a former shell of her true self. She loved him more than anything else inspite of his deceit, betrayal, and selfishness. She stayed with him knowing that it was slowly killing her from the inside out. She stayed with him beyond all rationale and even when she wasn't with him physically her soul was still tethered to him. I wanted to rant and rave, throw a down home country fit for the way she gave everything to this man, but I couldn't. I really could not condemn her for being who she was. Yes we can psychoanalyze her and say the loss of her mother and abandonment of her father played a huge role in making her the woman that she was but if you are honest, really honest there are some people who can love people at the cost and detriment of their very soul and Alayziah is one of those people. I love Jabari for her. His honesty and capacity to see what type of person she was , was tremendous. I appreciated his ability to be stern with Alayziah letting her know he wanted to be there for her but not at the detriment of his whole being. He knew his limitations, but was very much aware of the jewel he had in Alayziah if she ever reached the point of loving herself enough to understand everything she wanted in Alex was right in her face with Bari. Now let's talk about Ms. Love. I am almost speechless at the level of genius that this young lady possesses. Her ability and foresight to see straight to the heart of a person is uncanny. There are many other writers that I like and I genuinely enjoy their work, but Ms. Love elicits such a level of emotion from me when I read her books that I am physically, spiritually, and emotionally drained when I read the last word. She doesn't glorify street life and I am not knocking authors who write from that perspective, but she has given readers another glimpse into urban life that exists outside of the typical street tale. This young lady has taken the gift that she has that seemingly was gifted to her from the gods of Olympus and sprinkled us with the vestiges of her tremendous talent. Her talent is seemingly endless and I honestly cant begin to understand how she is able to create such masterful masterpieces. All I can say is get ready because this is one fantastic voyage that you will give your last to be invited to ride. MAGNIFICENT JOB!!! If I could give more stars I would. This deserves to be lauded and praised until everyone is afforded the opportunity to experience the gift that is Ms. B. Love!!!!

I have been impatiently waiting for part 2 of this book to come out for a while. I knew that Author B. Love was gifted and talented but after reading Alayziah 2: When loving him is complicated I must say I really had no clue of just how deeply the roots of her talent flowed. The book’s opening scene had me convulsing in tears. I knew that it was inevitable that the events with Alayziah and Alex would take place but the way that the words flowed and the imagery that was painted made it seem as if I was there, that Alayziah was me and I was her. Then to see the breakdown of why she loved the way that she did made everything that she went through in Book 1 become crystal clear. I never thought she was weak after reading book 1. I thought that she may have been misguided and wanted to be in love for the sake of being in love, but after reading book 2 and seeing the reason why she loved SOOO hard all I can say is I hope to eventually evolve into an individual who can completely submerge myself into that type of love. Rell and Alayziah seemed to be 100% made for one another. Rell had things happen to him in the past but he was able to continue and move forward without allowing the purity of his soul to become jaded. I loved the two of them together. I absolutely loved the way that he made sure that he didn’t allow himself to be placed in compromising positions to ensure the legitimacy of his relationship with Alayziah. Jabari surprised me. I really thought that he was for Alayziah but after witnessing the fact that he just wasn’t strong enough to be the man for her I was glad to see that she found everything that she needed in Rell. Bishop WAS NOT my favorite person in Kailani and Bishop but he grew on me by the end of that series. Now he truly has evolved into the man that Kai and BJ deserve and it was refreshing to get a chance to see them and get a glimpse of where they were in their lives. The thing that gets me about Author B. Love is that everything that she writes is so emotional. I mentally have to prepare myself when I open one of her books because I know 3 things are going to happen; 1. I’m going to need a boatload of tissue because I’m going to be snotting and crying all over the place; 2. I’m going to feel the need to at some point grab my tennis shoes and Vaseline and revert back to the hood girl that still lives inside of me; 3. I’m going to leave the story as full as if I just ate a full course meal only waiting for it to digest so that I can get up and go back for seconds, thirds, and fourths. It’s rare that you come across a writer who is so willing to lay EVERYTHING out on the table without the fear of being lain bare before the masses. Ms. Love possesses a courage unlike any other that I’ve seen. She effortlessly welcomes us into her inner sanctuary and invites us to take a seat and sit for a while like the ladies of old. I’m so happy to have been a witness to the greatness that I see coming for you in the future. I am glad that I will be one of the ones that can say “yeah chile, I remember when I used to talk to her on FB all the time and now she is a multi-bestselling author!” KUDOS Author B Love!! No longer can I say you are an author on the rise you have RISEN and are well on your way to surpassing any and all expectations!!!!!

I loved it!

I didn't know what was up with Alayziah for real! She was so easy to fall for the wrong men and so easily manipulated! Alexander really didn't know how to love so he strung both her and Carmen along because he needed a family to claim. Carmen was certifiably crazy. Jabari was there just for a season but Terrell was her forever! To finally unite with her sister Layyah was crazy. This was a great read!

Carmen, Alex, Jabari, Jessica, Al, I guess in some world these situations are real but it was too much.
