Everyone has secrets, but what do you do when those secrets could destroy you?

April Pope isn't looking for love. She can’t afford to. Not when falling in love has the potential to destroy everything she’s worked so hard to protect. Instead, she hides herself away in the small town of Peters Junction, living in obscurity where the rest of the world won’t look for her. When an opportunity too good to pass up puts her directly in the path of Lachlan Kennedy, Australia’s very own Hollywood heartthrob and the one person who has the potential to expose her to the rest of Australia, April must fight to maintain her anonymity.

Lachlan Kennedy has no trouble attracting women. Between his celebrity and his money, he may as well have a big fat ‘catch me if you can’ sign painted on his backside, but he’s been burned before and isn't looking to repeat his mistakes. Despite his relationship phobia he’s intrigued by the woman who doesn't want to be seen in public with him and who would prefer to hide in her little town than be with him. The more time he spends with her, the more her need for privacy threatens to ruin the best thing that’s ever happened to either one of them. Breaking down her walls to discover her secrets won’t be easy, but some things are worth fighting for…

I am an author of Contemporary Australian Romance. Set in both rural and urban environments, my books showcase the best of Australia and reflect my love of travelling this vast country.

I have always been a daydreamer, and even though it took some time for me to work up the courage to put my fingers to the keyboard and actually commit my stories to the page, I rarely went a day without dreaming about my characters. Whenever I wasn't working (and sometimes when I was!), I would get lost in my thoughts, dreaming up new characters and plotting the twists and turns of their lives.

I have always been a romantic and a firm believer in true love, and this is reflected in the stories I write. However, my reading tastes are widely varied, ranging from fantasy to crime to romance, and drifting from poetry to biographies to non-fiction texts.

On a personal level, I am a widow, mother of four children, and I live with my family in the beautiful South West of Western Australia.

Read "Secret" by Nicola Sinclair to find out!

"What would make a person want to give up everything they know and just disappear?" -Nicola Sinclair

Easy, a secret! In truth though this story is much more than just a story about secrets, its about love, taking care of yourself and others, but knowing you don’t always have to be there for the one you care most about. You have to be there for yourself. That is our main character's April's struggle through out this book. What does she need?

I loved the suspense and mystery Nicola Sinclair created in this book! I didn’t know what the secret was at all, and the more hints I got, it seemed to be worse and worse, which only intrigued me more. What did our character do that was so secretive? At first I thought it was only one secret but then it seemed to be two...and then maybe more. Now that I think about it though, it is actually one big secret and all the other secrets play a role in that secret and April's life. Wow!

I also loved that we got two POV's in "Secret", April's and Lachlan's. I loved the two as a couple and their chemistry, although it was a bit of love at first sight, but that didn’t make their relationship all smooth and happy...no. Lachlan is right! April is one stubborn women! I also really enjoyed the side characters, Ben and Marie and their building relationship and I'm happy to say that I get to read about it in the second book, yay! Oh, and don’t let me forget David, he's a great friend!

Lastly, I loved that April was a writer! I loved her fantasy series the "Green Man." Such an AWESOME world it sounds like! :D

Overall "Secret" had everything I loved in a book and it was a nice new adult contemporary read! If you like the romance stories on the writing website "Wattpad" and are wanting to read another great romance with mystery and suspense and that is set in Australia (Yes, it is a different setting than our usual UK and US settings but still just as wonderful) then pick up this book! I'm happy I was able to find out about this series! I will definitely continue it! So...that's all I have to say except TWO more things:

One: THANKS A BUNCH Nicola for sending me a copy of your book, I absolutely LOVED IT! <3

Two: If you would like a copy of "Secret" as well all you have to do is head on over to Nicola Sinclair's authors page and there she will have a link for the book! The book is FREE in exchange for an honest review!

I found this book to be well written with good character development. I really liked the male lead, Lachlan. He's a handsome, sexy, strong man from Australia- what's not to love? The female lead, April, has a penchant for pushing people away due to her secret. As the reader I felt a bit pushed away from her myself but still think she is a good character. Marie and Ben are developed more in a future book, which is great because I want to know what happens to them. The story is good. There is enough foreshadowing that I was able to guess part of April's secret but the second part of the secret was a complete surprise. There weren't any slow spots in the book- it did keep my interest throughout. The ending was a bit predictable. Overall it was an enjoyable read.

Wow, loved it! Bet you will too.

Touching story of a sister's love and determination. There is more than one secret to be had and I enjoyed reading the book to find them. I suggest you do the same. It's a sweet romance although because of secrets it almost doesn't work out.
