He first achieved mainstream recognition for creating the popular manga series Dr. Slump, before going on to create Dragon Ball (his most famous work) and acting as a character designer for several popular video games such as the Dragon Quest series, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon. Toriyama came to be regarded as one of the most important authors in the history of manga with his works highly influential and popular, particularly Dragon Ball, which many manga artists cite as a source of inspiration.
He earned the 1981 Shogakukan Manga Award for best shōnen/shōjo manga with Dr. Slump, and it went on to sell over 35 million copies in Japan. It was adapted into a successful anime series, with a second anime created in 1997, 13 years after the manga ended.
His next series, Dragon Ball, would become one of the most popular and successful manga in the world. Having sold 260 million copies worldwide, it is one of the best-selling manga series of all time and is considered a key work in increasing manga circulation to its peak in the mid-1980s and mid-1990s. In 2019, Toriyama was decorated a Chevalier of the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for his contributions to the arts.
In October 2024, Toriyama was inducted into the Harvey Awards Hall of Fame.

Muy introductorio de la nueva saga.

Hace como tres años que comencé la relectura y ya estoy llegando al final. Comienza el infame arco del monstruo Bu. Este volumen es bastante decente pero de aquí en adelante cuesta abajo y sin frenos.

Un tome que j'ai préféré au précédent avec l'arrivée de personnages énigmatiques qui pimentent un peu cet énième tenkaichi budokai. J'ai beaucoup aimé le combat entre Videl et Spopovitch qui était à mon sens celui avec le plus de tension. La seconde partie du manga fait très jeux vidéos rogue like et m'a beaucoup plu même si le système de combat reste très classique ça n'en est pas moins efficace et prenant.
Toutefois je n'ai pas du tout aimé l'introduction du power creep de Dabra et plus largement Majin Boo, tous les personnages qui étaient très puissants au départ perdent toute leur majesté et leur charisme car désormais ils ne servent plus à rien en combat (Piccolo notamment).
On entame donc le tout dernier arc de Dragon Ball, j'ai hâte d'avoir le fin mot de toute cette série !

又是壹次天下第壹武鬥大會，這次除了幾位龍珠戰士和普通戰士還有幾個奇怪的人。界王神，化名信，和另壹個他的仆從傑比度也參加了；同時還有魔導師巴菲迪派出來的兩個被魔化的人。這兩個魔化的人吸收了超級撒亞人狀態下悟飯的能量因此遁走。龍珠戰士們前往阻止“魔人布歐”的復活。開始與巴菲迪的手下們戰鬥。
