Scientists believe one of the asteroids that ended the dinosaurs struck the earth just off the coast of the Yucatan, near a village called ‘The Tail of the Devil.’ Was the asteroid inhabited?
Yucatan-- A Mayan artifact, a lost codex, said to possess supernatural power, is stolen by a madman.
The Netherlands-- A squad of men are stalking Sergeant Cody Brannon, an American on the Amsterdam police force. When Cody sleeps something reaches through the black night and grabs him. After a shooting, Cody flees to a Cancun beach town to force a confrontation.
The Maya are waiting for him. An old woman, in colorful, traditional Mayan dress, follows him around the sandy village. Bent old men watch his hotel room at night. As Cody enters a kinky relationship with the beautiful, dangerous Clarissa, the madman attacks. Villagers are slaughtered.
A friend is killed and Cody hunts the killer. Spooky things begin to happen. As he digs into the Mayan underground, he soon realizes it is not one man he is hunting. Jose Luis is the leader of an entire network, and he knows Cody is hunting him.
How can Cody be free of the madman and build a life with Clarissa? Where can he find help?

I thought it tender, touching, and exciting, a rare book. But alas, it is my book so you would be better served to ask the opinion of a reader not so close to the work.

I loved this book. It had plenty of action but also had suspense and mystery with an interesting unpredictable plot.
I'm watching for another book with the lead character. (hint hint Mr Hill)

Purchased a copy for a Christmas gift.

Enjoyable Read!
Main hero ex-cop Cody is a laid back kind of guy. Nothing seems to faze him. From bullets to dream-like spirits, he takes everything into stride. After an unexplainable gun shooting in Amsterdam, the touching spirits pull Cody to Mexico to face a power he doesn’t quite understand. This book flows at a leisurely pace which suits Cody’s style, just as the author intended.

Filled with excellent descriptions of the locale, Touching Spirits is an enjoyable read.

I really liked this book! Suspenseful, quirky, loving, well written, and a nice surprise in the middle. I read mostly non-fiction because I find fiction books to be predictable. My friend Linda recommended it and I was hooked! If you want a story to take you away and a story that's not like the others, this is it! Support this fresh new writer, you won't be disappointed!

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, which I am delighted to do. The book has an original storyline with a unique plot and mysterious characters. Although Cody is the main character, there are other characters that are fun to get to know.

Cody was a cop in Amsterdam until his wife left him. While living in Amsterdam he was a victim in a strange shooting - which we learn the why/how later in the book. He moved to California to rest and to help his grandmother out. But because of haunting dreams and the fear that someone was watching him, he left for fear that he was jeopardizing his grandmothers life and feared she was in danger. He ended up in the Caribbean, living in a one room hut on the ocean with a cat, a frog and a waxed-legged spider for roommates. He learned the Mayan "way" and learned to follow the Mayan spirits.

I felt the ending was anti-climatic after the long anticipated build up. But overall I enjoyed the book a lot. Mr. Hill I would like to read another story about Cody and Clarissa.

The story on the whole needs better editing for grammatical and punctuation errors.

I won this book for free in the Good reads giveaway!
A paradise setting but the story line is nothing but paradise. I fell in love with this town. The details in this book are amazing. I could almost smell the aroma of the food and feel the humidity of the tropics. The different personalities of the characters also added to the interesting story line. A good summer read.
