This is Sienna Snow's first foray into writing romance. While Rule Breaker didn't really break any rules in terms of its plot or trope, it did give us a strong, female lead who is not only beautiful but rich and smart. Very, very smart.

Arya Rey is a billionaire whose life was upended years ago after her then lover and Dom shut her out and rejected her. Fast forward to five years later, her company is merging with the company that's owned by the man who broke her heart. And he wants her back in his life. Not surprisingly, Arya is hesitant. And she has some secrets of her own that might destroy her world.

Rule Breaker is a fast-paced erotic romance with a touch of suspense. And yes, BDSM is a huge part of the story but not overwhelmingly so. I'm ambivalent towards it only because I'm picky when it comes to BDSM but it's not horrible or offensive, maybe just a tad bit cheesy, I guess. I mean, almost all of the characters, or at least, the major ones are all in the D/s lifestyle. I found that a little bit unbelievable but since this is fiction, I gave it a pass.

Aside from the second-chance romance between Arya and Max, there are plenty of sub-plots in the book that had me turning the pages, and looking forward to the next one. The corporate and tech world was well written. And i loved that Arya and her friends are powerful women in their own right.

My only other issue with this was that some of the plot points didn't quite tie well together. There were moments where I felt disoriented with what's happening with the story or where it's going. Some things are introduced but it didn't really go anywhere. And I also felt like the ending was rushed a little bit. I'm not worried about it too much though since I'm assuming some of the unresolved subplots in this book will resolve itself in future books.

Despite that, I enjoyed this one. It's a great debut book, and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I'm torn with how exactly to rate this so I guess 3.5 stars is where I'm going to stay. This book had all the makings of a five star read for me but somewhere it fell flat. I didn't particularly like Arya very much which probably explains why the book lost an entire star. It isn't a great read if you aren't liking the heroine. I honestly felt the hero deserved someone better so coupled with bits of the book that made me roll my eyes, I landed at 3.5 I will never be satisfied stars.

Max was my favorite part of the book, hands freaking down. He's a predator, a dominant, a chess player and he's really close to reaching Gideon Cross, Ethan Frost and Jackson Steele on my list of favorite fictional men. He's brilliant, man enough to own up to his mistakes and strong enough to try and protect those he cares about. He only stayed away because he literally couldn't get to Arya with her protective layers and close friends keeping him away until he forces his way through using business. Once again, I did say the man was brilliant and a predator. Overall, Max was the shining light which made me want to keep reading the book when all I wanted to do was strangle Arya.

Arya could have worked for me if she wasn't so Goddamn stupid for being so smart. Honest to God, what kind of woman goes hot and cold every two seconds? Yeah, he broke your heart but you kept a deep secret from him which is on par with him fucking up. He's trying and trying and all you do is go hot and cold and can't even be honest with him? That, to me specifically, is the sign of a weak individual and that's the biggest issue I had with her, she was weak. I don't know, I can't stand weak women. It just doesn't work for me unless the spin is handled appropriately.

I wanted to love the story but ended up only loving Max which happens from time to time.

Max is a possessive man, “we better get going.” He paused before we exited. “Just so you know.” I looked up. “Tonight will be the last time you will ever wear that dress. I don’t like others seeing what belongs to me without permission.” I love all the dirty talking Max does, “if you don’t stop that train of thought, I’m going to position you against the wall of this hotel and eff you senseless, not caring who sees us.” I loved this book, Max was dominating and sexy.

Technie women unite! New to me author, Ms. Snow wows me with this new series. I picked this book up on a lark, not expecting much. With many authors still jumping on the BDSM bandwagon, I normally prepare myself for disappointment. Ms. Snow writes a moving tale, pulling me into kinky erotica, intrigue, betrayal and love rekindled.

Arya Rey is the kind of female protagonist I admire and understand. She works in the world I live in and she's made it to the top. She is an inspiration to women in the technology field. To top it off, she is Indian. It is rare that I come across a book where the female lead is Indian with a nice blend of American Indian traits. The authenticity of Arya's character as a minority female certain caught my attention. But this isn't a story about race or focused on the sexual lure from the Orient. This story is about rising from the ashes, reborn and stronger. Arya is a complex character who is a survivor, not a victim. She may be fragile on the inside, but her exterior is solid and she can take on the world. Her professionalism is impressive, even when her ex-lover, Max comes into the picture.

Max's company may be doing a friendly merger with Arya's but his personal business is all hostile takeover. I am not sure if I really liked Max. He is arrogant, pushy and determined to force Arya back into his arms and loving bondage. If this was a non-con BDSM piece, it would have pushed me over the erotic edge and into erotic ecstasy. This is an erotic romance so I found Max to be a bit off putting. He does have his reasons and I still think he isn't really the best for Arya. Arya suffered so much and Max, he just seems to not be able to connect the dots and understand. He keeps pushing and pushing to the point of a bit stalkerish for me. Still, Ms. Snow keeps him from crossing the line. Near the end, I did accept his desire to be back with Arya.

From a BDSM kink perspective, very erotic and totally glitterkink. I do enjoy glitterkink and this club is fantastic. I wish this club did exist and that I could afford going. Ms. Snow designs a kink fantasy club complete with beautifully attractive members. Reality for most clubs is a bit different. The BDSM scenes are well done. They are plausible if a bit light in the description. It does show Ms. Snow researched the scenes well or she's participated a little. I enjoyed each one of the kink scenes and could have appreciated more of them. This erotic romance is recommended to kinky readers who enjoy lovers reunited themes. This book is definitely recommended as a Gateway to BDSM.

As a debut novel for Sienna Snow, I was highly impressed. Rule Breaker was intelligent and kinky and a new BDSM series of the wealthy and alpha that I truly enjoyed.

Arya was an interesting heroine. Self-made and dominant in the boardroom, submissive in the bedroom. A programmer thrust into the spotlight based on her intelligence and powerful company. Paired with Max, who was just as powerful, just as wealthy. But while they were equals in business, the dynamic changed behind closed doors. I loved watching Arya fight the attraction, I sympathized with her wanting to protect her heart, and I wanted these two to reach a place where they could make amends and move on with their lives together. Max was dedicated to showing Arya that he was the man for her, and it made me want to swoon at how persistent he was in pursuing her.

My only issue with this story was that I constantly felt as if I had missed a prior book (which I hadn’t). So much of the story was based on what took place in the past and referenced in such a way that made it sound as if I should have known about it already. I would have liked to experience first-hand the relationship between Arya and Max before it went sour, rather than viewing it in brief references to things that happened in the past. I would have liked to have a better understanding of Arya’s background without leaving me in confusion regarding the reasons why things had happened. I was confused and not liking it!!

But this feeling of missing a piece of Max and Arya’s history didn’t stop me from enjoying myself. We met several other Doms that were friends with Max, and I hope that their stories are next up in the series.

If you need a fix before Christian Grey returns to the cinema again next February, this is the book for you. This is a steamy, saucy, very naughty book and the sex scenes are incredibly well written and explosive! But in between the sex scenes there is a gripping plot line encompassing a leading lady who is not just a successful business woman and a very strong woman indeed, but also a billionaire, with many secrets that she refuses to unveil to her lover. The protagonist - Arya Rey - is a strong lady and is also Indian - refreshing to read a book that breaks the mould in the sexy fiction realm - and about time too! Arya has a tumultuous history that is unravelled throughout the story. I am looking forward to reading books two and three in the series in the coming years - hopefully I won't have to wait as long as I did between the 50 Shades of Grey books. I can easily see this book coming out as a film but it would definitely need to be an 18 certificate!

ARC provided for an honest review

First off, I loved the premise of this novel. Sienna Snow took a spin on a staple in a romance novel. She has a woman as a billionaire. And I loved it.

This is an amazing debut for her. She knocked it out of the park with Rule Breaker. She gave you a steamy romance. Along with scorching love scenes. I couldn't put it down. The plot Sienna weaved through this novel was interesting It had me reeled in from the start. The diversity in the characters. In the their traits was a refreshing twist.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. One of my top reads of the year. You will easily fall for Max and his dominating ways. Trust me you will not put it down. You will devour it over the weekend. I give Rule Breaker 4 stars.

* I received an ARC copy for my honest review*

I was captured by this book from page one. The first few lines were off the charts hot!!! Arya is a tech guru. One of the smartest woman out in their industry. She shares her success with her best friend's Milla & Lex. They own a company together that build security codes to help the DOD fight off terrorists. Arya has a past of secrets. This woman has strength and lives for her work. She is known as the Ice Queen as she shows no emotions to the outside world. Then Max comes back into her life after 5 years and makes her world shift once again.

Max is a Dom. He and Arya loved each other long before. She was his submissive, but when his feelings got to real, he broke things off. Making the worst mistake of his life, he regrets pushing her away. This break also put a distance between his sister and Arya who at one time were also best friends. He tries all that he can to break down the walls Arya has built around her emotionally. He will take what she can give, but needs more. Arya has secrets, and one is so big she is afraid it will destroy Max. Devastate him. Maybe even break him a little like it broke her.

This story had so many emotions flowing through me. This story has it all. You get passion, you cry tears, there is some anger, and a little bit of fear all at once. Max is so loveable, you will fall hard for this Dom. I rooted for Arya and Max since the beginning. I can not wait for book two next year and continue Sienna's most amazing series of Rule Breaker.

I love reading debut authors. I remember spending my Saturdays walking the aisles of Borders trying to find that new breakout book. Now-a-days I find myself searching Twitter and listening in on the latest buzz. My good luck, I saw a post from Forever and I immediately favored the link and stalked NetGalley. I do love a great erotic romance, especially D/s relationships, I find they push me out of my comfort zone, and I am always looking to be challenged by my own biases. Not only did this book not disappoint, but this is a debut author that knocked it out of the park.
Arya Rey is a partner at one of the biggest tech companies with sensitive contracts for the government creating software. Ari and her partner, Milla, and Lex are in negotiations to merge with another friend, Carmen. What Arya fails to realize is that Carmen’s brother, Maxwell Dane, is the mastermind of the merge and also Ari’s ex-lover/Dom. Needless to say, things are a bit messy at the moment. Between the highly sensitive work her company is doing, the ex bulldozing his way back into her life, and her tentative friendship with Carmen, things are a bit complicated.

Wow. This book has it all. Great characters, insanely hot sex, thrills and intrigue. Max broke Arya’s heart years ago. He was young and not mature enough to handle their relationship. Arya, like any sane woman, doesn’t want to let him hurt her again.

When Max steps back into Arya’s world after buying her company, he doesn’t overpower, discount or try to replace her. He lets her be in charge, even when she’d hard on him while teaching him to wrote code. I loved this dynamic. Arya in charge and Max respecting that at the office though it’s contradictory to how they interact in the bedroom.

I love that Arya is a strong, insanely smart, accomplished women and at such a young age. I wonder if having to be so in charge at work isn’t why she’s willing to let Max be in charge at home. It’s must be refreshing for her to let someone else do all the thinking for a while.

Arya’s program has immense capabilities. It’s almost impossible to know who is trying to hack and steal Arya’s product which builds intrigue throughout the book. The climax is edge-of-your-seat thrilling.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a hot, exciting and/or suspenseful read.

I tried but I was bothered by too many things to continue reading and I couldn't connect with the main couple.

1. There were too many holes in the H/h back story. I felt like I needed reading a previous book to understand everything that happened to them. Yes, we get some flashbacks, but it was confusing, it was like I was missing something all the time.

2. Arya was supposed to be a strong and confident woman, but where Max was concerned she was VERY weak. I didn't like that.

3. I missed Max's POV. It would be great to know what he was thinking about everything. How their break up affected him. He was saying all the right things, but without the back story, it felt empty. I also didn't like the fact that Arya didn't tell Max what happened to her right after their break up that's HUGE, he had the right to know.

I will still check the next book because I'm a bit curious about Milla and Lex. I hope it gets better.

Steamy sex scenes with a plot weaved in is always a great read, but those two things mixed in with a diverse character line-up is even better! It is refreshing to read about a strong woman of color leading a technology empire. Arya is not shocked in awe at how much money HE has, she has made her own millions and is a business force of her own. Sienna Snow's ability to make us feel so many emotions through her weaving of words is just one of the reasons I loved this book. She also has the ability to help me imagine a lead character that looks as diverse as the real world I live in.

This book will take you on a journey through relationship hurt, corporate greed, family discord, and there is also the fact that there are some HOT scenes.

Oh and I forgot to mention the extremely hot leading man...Max is hot...read it...you'll thank me later.

Rule Breaker is a sexy page turner story that will have you rooting for Arya and falling in love with Max. Sienna Snow is a new author and she has hit the mark with her debut novel.

Arya is smart and successful, beautiful and bold and through her hard work and brains has built a leading technology business. This powerful woman is strong in business and sexy on the dance floor. She has all the trappings of the success she's earned, clothes, jets and cars. She has it all, right? Then why can't she forget the millionaire who stole her heart and abandoned her years ago, leaving her in the most dire of situations.

Years have past and Arya has built a wall around her heart. She's focused all her attention on her business and her closest friends. Finally it seems that she's moving on until she finds herself unexpectedly collaborating with Max in business. She's going to teach him everything she knows in the boardroom and he's determined to take everything he wants in the bedroom. Arya finds herself in a tug of war -- her body craves the thrills only he can provide but she won't give him her heart again. Max is confident and persuasive and he might take everything from Arya, even the heart she's sworn to withhold.

You'll love this fast paced spicy romance that combines the world of big business and technology with the simply story of love that may leave Arya and Max broken or give them wings to fly.

Max & Arya. Two sexy billionaire with nothing but lots of money and a lot of hot, dirty, raw sexy. With this tale we get a young, hot, sexy, strong, female that has her own billions and a few secrets of her own.

Max and Arya had their go with each other. A world of dom and sub was introduced and accepted by Arya, but things changed and life moved on. Now years later they have a chance to see if a connection can be made again. Arya has changed and her needs may have taking a backseat to her career.

Max was a sexy hot male that can star in any fantasy. I love Max. Arya was okay. The secondary characters have my attention and I hope a place in a future book. The twist and turns were interesting. The pace moving forward. Max will certainly make a perfect book boyfriend for anyone looking for that alpha dominate.

Sienna Snow did a good job reeling me in for the erotic fiction that played out. I was given an alpha dominate that knew what he wanted and determined to do what was necessary to get it. The heroine was one of power, money, and appeal, but her lack of focus and clarity changed something about her strength.

The first scene in this book captured me...and then I just couldn't put it down. Just as you think this book is about hot sexy romance (which is fabulous), it's so much more. You can't help but love the diversified characters in this book. There's a great story line and an internal struggle that you can relate to. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves juicy sexy scenes mixed with an intellectual plot.

more 3.5ish

Received in exchange for a honest review.

I liked and disliked. This is the first in this series by Sienna Snow and overall I found the book enjoyable but some things just got to me.

Characters:

Arya and Max are the main characters and I adore Max.Why? HE was flawed. He admitted he messed up and owned up to it. He showed he was vulnerable. Tried to make up for his mistakes.

Arya was alright. I think she fell short. Sienna Snow tried to make her a strong woman but she wasn’t. She was stubborn and a bit hypocritical. When Max did what he did that didn’t give her the right to keep things from him or not listen to him when he tried to make amends. She just said nope no way. But when it came time for her secret which is a huge huge whopper Max was just supposed to be well okay I forgive and move on. Nope not buying.

the other characters were stubborn and there for these two when needed.

POV;

Only Arya’s and to me it would be a stronger story if Max’s view was here as well. I think we would get a better picture of everything and feel more grounded in some of the past. With only the view of Arya things are skewed and there isn’t a true sense of all that is going on.

Even though that is the case, seeing Arya’s point of view helped us to feel her emotion and where her mind was while things were happening.

Plot:

I feel that we came in in the middle of a story and needed a book before this. We got flashbacks but not enough to truly get a sense of the complete past between these two. Set this aside and we have a fast pace, suspenseful and sensual second chance romance going on with some serious erotic undertones, overtones every tone.

Overall:

It was enjoyable and went quickly. Characters gave us some steamy times and showed us some growth and we got a suspense as well that I don’t believe will end with just this book. I think this book set up Arya and her friends nemesis for the series. A enjoyable story on second chances and forgiveness.

**Warning This Book Contains BDSM Themes**

First off I want to thank Sienna Snow for the book. I got the book for an honest review of the book. The book is an awesome read. It was a fasted paced and the flow was good. I know that once I started the book, then I just couldn’t put it down.

We start out meeting Arya who has spent 5 years building a tech company, they were looking for a company to merge with. Even though the company they picked was her ex-boyfriends, they dealt with his sister. The merger was going well when there was a change in who was going to be working with them. Max (the ex-boyfriend) decided to change the leadership, he wanted to be near Arya. Arya has a few secrets that she is trying to keep from Max. It is very hard for her to keep her thoughts on the project at hand. There is so much sexual tension at work, that just couldn’t be contained.

The sex scenes in this were HOT!! I was sweating threw some of them. The story line was good which meant that the sex didn’t feel like either filler, or forced. While BDSM isn’t my thing, even the sex had been written with detail and flow with the book. I am glad that i had the chance to read this book and i thank Sienna and her PA JoDeen.

If you get a chance to read this book I would highly recommend that you do! I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

I picked this up for bingo, because the heroine was the techy character. But I really didn't like anything about this book. Most of the backstory felt super over the top in a way that meant I could never just enjoy the characters, and the kink stuff didn't feel right? Yeah.

Rule Breaker is my introduction to Sienna Snow and I have to say it wasn’t a bad first meeting. Snow writes great strong female characters and sexy male counterparts. Rule Breaker is a romance built around two characters that get a second chance at love but must go through some heart ache and deadly events to get their HEA and boy did they earn it!

While Rule Breaker focused on a D/s relationship it wasn’t too heavy into kink that readers who don’t normally read the genre would be turned off.

Snow’s writing grabbed me and had me starting the second book, Rule Master the second I finished Ruler Breaker.

After finishing this book, I realized it won't be the last one I read by Sienna Snow!! I was stunned to see that this is her debut!! She has a bright future ahead of her!! Holy smokes what a book!! I don't think I've ever read a book where the heroine is so business smart, wealthy, and yet submissive. It sure made for an interesting book!!

Arya Rey is only twenty eight years old and is head of several companies and is known as the "ice queen". She's worked hard to get where she is in life and has oh so many secrets that people don't know about. For instance, she's a harsh business woman but in the bedroom she's totally a submissive. She was in a relationship with Max five years ago, until he crushed her heart and then stomped on it!

There's a business meeting concerning a merger and who is at the meeting and is part of this merger but Max, her former Dom! She's over him after five years right? Well if she is when she sees him she wouldn't be melting into a puddle!

Max knows he did Arya wrong and he wants her back in his life. He will stop at nothing to win her back. His first plan is to put together a multi-billion-dollar merger to get her back and he'll work up from there.

Obviously, there are still sparks between them so Arya has an offer for him that Max can't refuse. However, what happens when he finds out her past secrets?

This was a great story!! It kept me on the edge of my seat because of what I wanted to happen in the story!! I couldn't flip the pages fast enough!! Loved the characters, as well...but then what's not to love about a billionaire Dom? I look forward to reading more by Sienna Snow!!

Rule Breaker by Sienna Snow is a sexy read with some heartbreak and suspense thrown in there. The characters, both good and bad, were very well written. The women are strong and intelligent. I loved the closeness between friends and the passion between lovers. I felt that coming through as I was reading. The sexy time scenes were good too!

The beginning was a little shaky to me. At times it felt like the reader was supposed to know what had gone on in the past. I felt like there was a previous book I wasn't aware of. The story build up was a bit slow for me. I understand the need for build up but I felt it took too long for anything to happen.

All that aside this was quite an enjoyable read! I am hoping there's another book and I'm hoping it's a certain couple's story. I give this 4 stars.

I was a First Read Winner of this book, and boy what a steamy read. This is the debut Novel by Sienna Snow and I know she will have a super bright future ahead of her. Having just given up on 2 books in a row due to bad writing it felt good to read a well written story. This book has everything you need to make for an entertaining read, interesting, flawed, likeable and complex characters, some action and intrigue, and lets not forget some very steamy D/S love scenes. Once I got started I had a real hard time putting it down, and I may have neglected some much needed work but sometimes you just have to break the rules. I can't wait to find out what will happen next.
