I know it sounds weird, but normally I really like my job. Escort work isn’t for everyone, but for me it’s easy, incredibly lucrative, and free of complications – the only cost is, at times, my dignity.

This book just had too much going on.
I liked both Connor and Angel, but it
was too insta love and both of these
characters just had sooo much back
story going on that Imo it just messed
with the flow of the book.

This book had the potential of being a good one. The summary reeled me in, but boy oh boy was I wrong. There is SOOOO much going on! Its like 3-4 books in one. The story is all over the place. The heroine is such an annoying little bitch that I rolled my eyes every time she said something stupid, which was quite often. The conversations were all over the place and unbelievable. I reaaaaaaally disliked this book.

Another one with great potential that fell a little short. The book was all over the place. If treated a little different it could have been great, I usually like books that have a lot of subplots, but those have to handled carefully, and in this book it was like it was going from one place to the other, forgetting one thing to do the other. I don't like when they present you with a character and then they change it. At first they give you one idea of who Angel was, but as you read you start seeing something different.

Angel is an escort, she knows how to do her job and how to play her customers, but she wants something real. Her friend tries to set her up with a friend, but they dislike each other as soon as they meet, only a day later it turns out Connor is her new customer, and she is going to have to work with him for a long time. He is demanding, angry and treats her like crap because, as he constantly repeats, he bought her, so he can demand what he wants and needs from her. She is constantly fighting him for how he treats her, but has to keep working because she needs the money. It eventually ends in sex, even if that wasn't supposed to be part of the agreement.

When things start looking better, her abusive ex appears and she has a panic attack. Connor goes to the rescue and helps her, and she starts liking him, but then he starts acting like a jerk again. To make things even more complicated, Mary, the woman who adopted her son appears saying that she is dying and needs her to take her son back. She gave him up to protect him from her ex, and since his ex is around again. She is afraid for him, but she has no choice than to accept him because the option is foster care.

She fights a lot with Connor because she has a lot going on in her personal life and he is still demanding a lot from her, but they end up at his home for his sister's wedding, as was the plan from the beginning, and things start to look better for them, but as soon as they go back and she wants to go see her son he gets all caveman and tries to force her to stay. She sees how similar his behavior is to her ex's and decide that whatever she thought they were having wasn't true and leaves him.

She uses the money she earns to buy a house and starts a new life with her son and the woman who adopted him, since she convinced her to stay with them until the end. She is miserable without Connor and her friend and Mary are pushing her to go meet Connor, and when she does, she finds him broken and depressed, he confesses he has a drinking problem and that's why he was such a jerk, but he is not drinking anymore and he wants her back. He asks for a chance and it starts well but then they get into a fight because she overreacts when he gets into a fight with her ex. She tries to talk to him, but finds him with another woman and gets mad again. She is back at her house and her ex arrives, he wants to hurt her and she fights back, but he is winning until Connor appears and saves her. She goes to the hospital and when she wakes up Connor explains that she doesn't have to worry about her ex anymore and that the woman she saw him with is just a friend, that was helping him pick a ring for her. He proposes and she accepts, just after finding out she is pregnant.

There were a lot of things that bothered me about this book, most of all, the fact that he was so insistent and was always pushing and angry that she wasn't learning all about his family from the book he compiled for her, but when they arrive it turns out he let out of the book all the important stuff, like the fact he used to be married. Also, just before they get to his parent's house he tells her that they know her by her real name, that he messed up and used it instead of Angela, but when they arrive, everyone calls her Angela and there is no mention of her real name. Also, her friend keeps pushing her to be with him and says he is such a nice guy, even when she keeps insisting he is a jerk, and then, at the end, she says, 'oh, yeah, he can be a jerk when he is drinking'. Shouldn't she have shared that information from the beginning?

Angela enjoys her life. Her job gives her the freedom to live the way she wants to while keeping up with her responsibilities. She actually enjoys being an escort until her latest assignment puts her at the mercy of Connor. From the moment they met, Connor has done nothing but antagonize Angela. He doesn’t seem to like her much even if his eyes say something else. But Connor is on a tight schedule and choosers can't be beggars. For the next four weeks Angela will play Connor's loving fiancé. Soon enough though fiction and reality start to mix and being his doesn’t seem like such bad idea anymore. Not until the past comes back to haunt them both. Connor has too many daemons. Angela has only a terrorizing one. Will history repeat itself? Bought is a drama filled romance with twists and unexpected surprises till the end.

The idea behind the book sounded really good and even after seeing the poor ratings I decided to give it a try. This book was difficult to read because of the inconsistencies in the story. The author tells you one thing, then a page later something else. Sometimes when reading, I flip back a few pages because sounds off or I want to double check what I read. This book, when I would do that, and it would confirm that the facts change throughout the book. The main characters name was even messed up, he said he told her parents her name was one thing, and then the parents refer to her with a different name. Too many mistakes and inconsistencies to name them all. It was frustrating to read.
