Love Me Crazy

Rate this book
We’re broken in the most screwed-up perfect way. It was inevitable we’d end up together.

Cassidy Beck is focused on one thing, and one thing planning the Southern wedding of the century in Lucas Hill, South Carolina. Fresh from a tragic breakup, Cassidy’s not in the mood for any distractions. But when antebellum hottie Quinn Covington arrives in all his sexy, tattooed glory, he might prove to be the biggest distraction of them all.

MIA ever since his father’s death, Quinn doesn’t plan to stay any longer than it takes to start his dad’s vintage truck. But the sight of Cassidy trying to fend off his family’s pet turkey sends him for a loop. Red-haired and fierce, she’s just as broken as he is. But even though Cassidy’s past makes her the only one able to understand Quinn’s own scars, they also make her wary. After all, how can she trust him with her heart when everyone else she’s ever given it to has thrown it away?

Sexy, heart-wrenching, and full of Southern charm, this new contemporary romance from Camden Leigh shows just what happens when two people who are perfectly broken end up piecing each other back together.

Camden Leigh is a sucker for first kisses, first hook-ups and anything that adds the unforgettable first sparks of love–humor, seduction, hot-n-sexy bods, angsty determination...what have you! When Camden isn’t writing, she’s either crafting, flicking through images of gorgeous paper, saturated palettes or...um, lip-lickin' washboard abs. When feeling guilty, she attempts to keep up with her energetic kiddos by beach combing, kayaking, golfing (can it really be called golfing if a seven-year-old beats you?) or being that crazy person at a concert. Her addictions: chocolate covered raspberries, real southern sweet tea (not the fake stuff with the sugar crystals hanging out in the bottom of the cup), her pups and pretty paper she’ll never use.

I didn't read the entire synopsis. Once I saw the mention of the south, I DL'd it.

I liked Cassidy, but I loved Quinn. They're so different that it works perfectly. She's got a bit of a history at being a math genius and I wish we would have gotten a bit more of that. Kat and Ellie are great sisters and Quinn's mother is an effective bad guy.

There was a bit more drama than I was expecting and a few things I saw coming. I think if the over-logical side of Cassidy was shown more, I would have understood the incessant push and pull she did with Quinn. But I love love loved that he was the one who was steady and constantly reminding her that he was there.

Overall, it was a quick read with some lovely swoons and a lot of charm.

This was a sweet and steamy read. It was also my first book by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I enjoyed her writing style. I only wish there was slight more depth to her characters. Cassidy is utterly heartbroken by her ex and leaves her life behind to help plan a wedding in South Carolina when she meets Quinn in the funniest way possible!!!!! I absolutely loved Quinn!!!! He was perfect and even though he was just as broken never gave up on Cassidy!! Cassidy was just ok to me, honestly her waffling just pissed me off, at times I felt she enjoyed being upset. Then there's Mrs. Covington who I absolutely wanted to throttle!!!!!!!! Overall I enjoyed this book it was a nice story about to two total opposites who through there issue find what they need in each other.

I was gifted a copy of this book for a honest review

Love Me Crazy was cute and sexy, and I enjoyed a lot about this book. Being the first book I have read from Camden Leigh, it is always a bit of a gamble and this one mostly paid off. I did have a few things that kept me from absolutely loving the story, but I would read more from Camden Leigh in the future.

After an awful breakup, Cassidy is focused on making the most of her life. Determined to succeed in her job, Cassidy sets out to plan the perfect wedding and she has no time for distractions. But when she meets Quinn, she realizes that she might not be able to fight what she feels for him. Having been gone for five years, Quinn's return home brings up a lot of unresolved issues from his past. With everything that Cassidy has been through, can she risk her heart again with Quinn?

These two were sweet and sexy together, and I loved the heat between them. They were different in a lot of ways, yet both of them were struggling with a lot. Because of everything that each of them had been through, they were able to understand and relate to each other. That also brought out Cassidy's fears and insecurities though, and it got frustrating at times when Cassidy was constantly doing the push/pull thing with Quinn. I liked Quinn a lot though, and he was definitely one of the high points here. It was so great to see a hero that was pursuing the heroine and didn't give up on her, even when she kept pushing him away. I will admit that I struggled with Cassidy though and I felt like I could never really connect with her.

I think that my biggest issue here though was that there wasn't a lot of depth to the characters or the growing relationship between them. Everything felt surface deep, and I found myself wanting more. I am all for a sexy story, and there was plenty of heat here! But I do want a genuine connection and romance to go along with the steam, and I just felt like this story didn't entirely deliver when it came to the emotional side of things. I did still enjoy it, and I will read more from Camden Leigh. Quinn was a great character, and I would recommend giving this book a shot for him alone.

Quick Thoughts and Rating: Actual rating of 3.5 stars! Perhaps if I would've been in a different mood and looking for a little more hotness and a little less on character development and plot, this one would've hit a higher mark for me. As it stands, though, I was missing the depth and connection with the characters and that ultimately pulled the rating down for me.

Told in alternating dual narratives, Love Me Crazy was a love story like any other and yet different, too. Boy meets girl, but in this tale, she's ass-up on a kitchen counter waving a meat cleaver around and threatening his family's house pet, a turkey. From that point on, there's undeniable chemistry and cat-and-mouse games until neither can combat just how deep their feelings run.

♥ Review: As soon as my eyes latched on to the word "Southern" and glossed over the description of "antebellum hottie Quinn Covington arrives in all his sexy, tattooed glory," it was pretty much a done deal, I needed this book. I don't think I really even slowed down long enough to truly read the synopsis before I requested this baby on NetGalley, and perhaps I should have because this was definitely heavier on the angst than the fluff I had anticipated from the cover and the title. That said, the angst was warranted given each character's history and I never felt like it was too over-the-top, though at times it definitely weighed heavier on the more dramatic side. As characters, I liked both of our MC's, Cassidy and Quinn, on surface value. I enjoyed Cassidy's ambitious, spit-fire nature and Quinn's easy charm, steady presence, and effortless sex appeal. But as the story continued, I found myself struggling a little to connect with them on a deeper level. It became more about them getting it on than about the reader being able to see who they were and why they were acting the way that they were after a while. At times, it even felt like a regurgitation of previous scenes, just in a different setting, and that began to affect my ability to stay focused on the book. In short, while I appreciated the sex scenes (because, hey now, they were hot!), I wanted more intimacy in those moments, too. But more than that, I think some of those could have been edited out and dedicated that word count to focusing more on the character development. Of course, this is only my review and my thoughts and the reading space I was in that day I read this, and perhaps other readers would be perfectly happy just to read this for the deliciousness that was the chemistry and red-hot-sex shared between this duo. As far as other characters, I really loved Quinn's sisters and Cassidy's friend (who we only really get to see a few times through phone conversations). I thought they were all an excellent addition to the book.

I will note that being a Southern girl myself, I probably judge those books set in the South more critically than ones that aren't, and, for the most part, LMC represented us well. The setting was the most vivid character on the page for me. I could have easily walked out in my backyard and envisioned a lot of what the author detailed in this book. I wanted to visit the Covington's plantation and farm, to walk the roads lined with huge oaks and pecan casings, to see the fireflies dancing on the swampy waters, and to see the fields vibrant with various hues of flowers. It was a testament to the author's writing ability to make a place feel so familiar, and I loved that.

Overall, was I looking for more? Sure. Does that mean that I didn't enjoy this for what it was? False. Honestly, it was really good, but I just reserve the right to give it more stars because I saw where it had a little wiggle room to be even better.

♥  Teaser Quote: Quinn was delightfully charming and I highlighted a lot of his dialogue, but I'll save that for you to read yourself. Instead, I'm going to share a rare moment where our heroine allows herself to be vulnerable.
"I'm scared to need you," I finally admit. I lift my chin and peer into his eyes.
Our faces are inches apart. His breath and my breath mingle like fog and smoke.
His lips brush against mine, ever so gently, as soft as a whisper. "And I'm scared you won't."

♥ Rec It? Maybe...probably? More likely than not, it would probably depend on whether you're in the mood for depth or smut; one (le sexytimes) was definitely given more priority, in my opinion. So, if you're looking for something a little angsty, a little sweet, and a lot dirty, this one is a sure bet.

Cassidy Beck is from Boston but finds herself out of her element in South Carolina, the heat alone might kill her! She is there to help plan the wedding of the century for the boss from hell's daughter. Things go south quickly when she finds herself cornered by a turkey, but when a sexy bad boy saves her, it sets a crazy set of events in motion. Quinn Covington has been MIA for 5 years, and his appearance throws everything into a tailspin. Even though his mom and sisters are happy to see him, they also have a lot of anger. Quinn is instantly attracted to the spunky Cassidy. But, will shocking secrets, family discord, and old scars end their budding relationship before it even begins? Read and see.

This is a cute story, I liked the quirkiness of the heroine and who doesn't love a bad boy with a heart of gold? Though I liked the story, I didn't love it. I found it too wordy at times and the story didn't really flow. I also didn't feel the chemistry between Cassidy and Quinn, it fell flat for me. All in all it's a good story, with good characters, it just needed a little something more.

Love Me Crazy is the first book I’ve read by Camden Leigh and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a short, sexy read, full of angst and southern charm.

Cassidy and Quinn—the two main characters—are likable and relatable. They are both strong, independent characters who are trying to make their way in life without using their family’s famous name. But, as with most romances, they each have a ton of baggage that tends to get in the way of their red-hot chemistry and I got a little whiplashed from the back and forth between the two of them. But, for the most part, both characters were written well and I really liked the dual POV the author gave us.

Secondary characters were a little light for me, but I loved Mrs. Covington. She’s both Cassidy’s boss and Quinn’s mother. She’s also a horrible, horrible person, which is precisely the reason she is such a great character.

Mechanics were a little rough. There was a lot of missing punctuation, specifically quotation marks. I’m assuming there will be another pass with an editor before the final version is released. My copy is an ARC, so the errors didn’t bother me too much. Other than the grammatical and punctuation errors, the writing was easy to read. The style and voice were very relaxed and easy to slip into. I really enjoyed the author’s descriptions.

Bottom line: I enjoyed Leigh’s Love Me Crazy. It’s a perfect beach read. Or, if you’re looking for a book to keep you company on a rainy day, the steamy romance will definitely keep you warm. It’s always fun to find new authors to add to my TBR list (because it’s not long enough already) and Leigh is an author I would read again.

It’s a good choice!

Love me crazy by Camden Leigh was a very captivating book. It takes you on a self discovery journey with the characters. They each had their own "baggage" they had to rummage through in order to realize what was truly important. Just when I thought I had them figured out the writer threw me through a loop! Cassidy and Quinn were a perfect mixture of opposites attract. It forces you to take into account that we can't blame others for what one person has done to us. Absolutely a must read!

An ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun, quick, and quirky read. Quinn and Cassidy meet in less than ideal circumstances. Cassidy is on the counter waving a meat cleaver at Quinn's family's turkey. Definitely a laugh out loud moment!

Quinn...He was a bit of a mystery to me from the very beginning. It was obvious he was dealing with some heavy stuff and was a bit damaged. I didn't too much care for Cassidy. I couldn't really connect with her or understand why she did certain things. Quinn and Cassidy's relationship just didn't flow in my opinion. I think the story lacked some character development, hence my 3 star rating.

If you're in the mood for a quick afternoon light read, you might give this one a try!

review 1

Cover/Title - I really like the title and it sort caught my attention. The cover is not bad, but is not amazing. I like the contrasting colors the red hair, the blue shirt, the aqua blue title contrasting with the yellowish hay.
Plot - It was an ok plot. The setting was amazing. Really, it was a fantastic description of the South. It was very realistic and it felt comforting.
Characters - I love Quinn. He was easy to like, connect and relate. He was hot and sweet. I also liked several secondary characters, specially Quinn's sister.
Heat/Romance - There were a lot of steamy scenes here. Really hot read.

Review 2

Characters - I had mixed feelings with Cassie and because of them it was hard for me to connect, relate and even understand her.
Plot - I wished the author had explained Cassie better. Some things that probably would have helped me connect with her were only mentioned but never went too deep. I ended up being unable to sympathize with her because I had not enough background info.
Romance - I didn't feel the couple's connection. Sure, they were always having sex, but the feelings, not believable.

You MAY buy this book because you enjoy romance; you SHOULD buy this book because you want some fast spicy read; you MUST buy this book if you want to visit the South!!!

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I guess I need to stop requesting New Adult books on Netgalley because they seem to basically be book porn, which I'm not really down with. This book was OK, I liked it but I didn't love it. I liked the characters, especially Quinn and Kat. I think I would have enjoyed this more if we'd have known more of Cassidy's past and what happened between her and her Mom, it really annoyed me that it was never explained. I also feel like the story got a bit wordy at times and didn't flow very well. If you're looking for a quick, predictable romance, this would be for you.

I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

3 stars because most of the story was entertaining and enough of the characters were likable. I did have some issues with a few things that kept me from loving this book.

The story is a bit jumpy in my opinion and it seemed that some threads of the story were put out there and then neglected or just glossed over . I did suspect the big conflict in the end at an early stage but it is not overly obvious.

I did really like the scenes where they were working on the wedding with Ellie. Also the scenes with just Quinn and Cassidy where they would talk or when silly things would happen and bring them closer.

Cassidy Beck is still a bit of a mystery to me. She is trying to focus on her right now she is trying to finish her degree. All that seems to stand in her way is her internship boss Mrs. Covington. She is from Boston and her parents are academics with money. One thing that really bugged me about Cassidy is that she acts as if she has absolutely no idea how to speak in a professional setting. Mrs. Covington is painted as a villain for many reasons and some rightly so but in the beginning the main reason is she expects Cassidy to speak a certain way.

I do not think I ever really came to like Cassidy. She is talented and at times tough but didn’t stick to any decisions where Quinn was concerned, which makes it seem like she is using when he is trying to start something real with her.

Quinn is Mrs. Covington’s son and he has been gone since the death of his father. Quinn comes back so his mother does not sell his dad’s truck but decides to stay. Quinn is likable. He figured out what he wanted and would not let go.

Ellie and Kat are his sisters and both bring more to the story. Crockett is Kat’s pet turkey who plays a big role in how Cassidy and Quinn meet but then kind of disappears. Mrs. Covington is always in work mode and the reader never really gets to see another side of her.

This book had did a great job on the plot. I liked how the story developed overtime and you weren't really sure what you were going to get. I also loved that the further the story went the more the characters developed. I absolutely love watching characters grow and change over time and this book did it well. Cassidy is a very ambitious, honest person whilst Quinn is very charming and witty and together these two complimented each other well. In saying this though, I didn't feel like I connected to these characters particularly well. I also loved how stern and intimidating Quinn's mother is, her character made it quite enjoyable to read otherwise it would have been a little dull. Also Quinn's sisters were also very lovable and were a great addition to this book as they were quite different.

I loved where this was set as I felt as though I was there most of the time. It was great to be able to fully immerse myself into the book and imagine the whole setting around me. The author did a fantastic job on her writing as well, it was clear, concise and played a big part in making me feel like I was there.

I do think that this book could be a little better. I didn't like the cliche of it and I feel as though it would have been a bit better if it wasn't focused on Cassidy and Quinn's interest with each other. I noticed when on NetGalley that this was put under both categories of New Adult and Young Adult but I definitely think it fits under New Adult more due to some of the content. Although there were some things which I did struggle with, this book was still quite enjoyable.

Cassady had thrown away her parents five year plan for her, she decided to do a shorter version but still would achieve success and financial freedom and then planning to marry.Cassdy had not talked to her parents in four years. Cassady has one last hurdle which is an internship which she refuses to fail. Her new boss was Mrs. Covington and her boss’s emotions seemed to range from slightly crazy to all out psycho. Cassady had won an art contest and got first choice of theSenior internships and this was the only one that paid. Cassady was a party planner but in this case Mrs. Covington’s daughters wedding and the first wedding in the family. Cassady meets Quinn when ahe ia fighting off his sister’s pet turkey in the kitchen. Quinn was the elusive and only son of Mrs. Covington. Then Cassady answers a call from Lilian and she had told Preston- Cassady’s ex that Cassady was on vacation with her new boyfriend. Preston was a butt and had cheated on Cassady. Liliand wanted Preston to think Cassady was really happy now as Preston had been the first Cassady had let near her heart and he broke it as they had been engaged and he threw every thing they had away. Cassady had causght Prestona nd her roomamte having sex.
This was a great romance and I loved it. Two broken people meeting in non ordinary circumstances to eventually become healed with the help of the other person. The urge to run not being allowed. This story had a great plot and the writing was also great. I loved the characters, they were awesome except for two that I did not care for. I loved the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

Wowsa! Quinn Covington was one sweet, lovable, swoon-worthy hero. He was so broken from when his dad died, but willing to leap with Cassidy, if she'd leap with him. I want him for myself . I mean who wouldn't when he says things like...

"The best part about love is giving it, not needing it. The second-best part is having it come back to you in the most incomprehensible way and recognizing it because it's meant for only you."

I loved Quinn's sister Kat. She kind of stole the scenes she was in. She was fiesty and spunky. I wish Cassidy would have shown that side of herself more. We got glimpses of it a few times, but usually she was too busy panicking to get the fire out. I didn't care for AnnaBeth or Mrs. Covington - don't think I was supposed to. I don't like that they had a secret and we didn't get to see any kind of resolution to their keeping it from everyone.

All in all, a good read that I am glad I got my hands on :)

I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I liked the book, but did not love it. There was just some things that I didn't really like and maybe I wasn't always reading it correct but somethings kind of confused me.

I really liked Quinn he was very true to himself, he knew what he wanted and wasn't giving up. He did not conform to how the family lives and works. He really cared for Cassidy he was super sweet and sexy. I liked Cassidy she was a strong character didn't let Quinn's mom change her and how she is. There were a lot of sweet sexy moments between Quinn and Cassidy.

One thing that I did not like about the book is that they did not get into Cassidy's past, Quinn opened up to her about everything and we got nothing from Cassidy on what happened between her and her parents or her and her past relationship other then the cheating. Would have liked to have been about the experience the past of both characters to understand more about why Cassidy was so broken.

Overall it was an ok read more be. I think it could have been a bit better.

Four Great Stars! Cassidy is trying to get over her break up and is helping to plan her boss's daughter's wedding. Quinn comes home for the wedding after being MIA for five years and meets Cassidy. They have an instant attraction toward one another but they both have demons to overcome. Can they face their demons and overcome them to be able to move on with each other? This is a well written story and I felt the characters were great. If you are looking for a sweet read about two broken people who get together and help to heal each other then look no further. Enjoyed this story!

I voluntarily received an ARC of Love Me Crazy by Camden Leigh from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Love Me Crazy is a yummy New Adult romance novel. I laughed. I cried. I screamed in frustration. And I loved every minute of it.

Mrs. Covington is the nightmare of all mothers. I was hoping that at some point she would redeem herself and I would find some sliver of a heart within her, but no such luck. I did enjoy when Cassie would stand up to Mrs. Covington. Those moments were the only upside of Mrs. Covington's nastyness..

Quinn Covington. Oh there are so many things to say about him. Sexy. Funny. Sweet. Passionate. Quinn Covington is all of these things and more.

Cassie was a frustrating character for me. She seemed to be fighting against her own happiness even when it hurt those around her. I do wish we could have learned more about Cassie's past and what drove her to always run away from life.

Camden Leigh is an accomplished story teller.

She takes two confused, crazy people who are both born in famous families, trying to find their footing in the big bad world, and making it.

The mother of Quinn gives a very nice twist, with the rest of the family egging Cassidy and Quinn onward in their journey, one step at a time, separately and together.

Quaint and quirky are the ways of the families coming from old money and the Covingtons are no exception.

With a ton of humor, hesitation, skepticism and romance thrown in, the book makes for a nice package.

The only thing where I felt a little queasy at times was that Cassidy sometimes comes across as harebrained. But wasn't that the original motive of this new age story? I like to think so.

Quinn is the quintessential "hope is my middle name" guy. His trust and hope is amazing and he has some unforgettable dialogs in his toast during the wedding.

I liked the book. A fun, light, evening read.

I liked this, really. It was cute... I guess if I had to pick a phrase I would go with "Sweet but spicy." If you like New Adult Contemporary Romance, this would be a great choice. I just had a few issues that kept me from bumping it to the next star level. And mostly, those issues are nitpicky, so probably things other people might not even notice - I had some issues with the pacing, and with Quinn's choice to stick around in the beginning. But overall, this was a fun, cute read.

Love Me Crazy is a sweet, sexy read full of angst and drama.

Cassie has left the future that was laid out for her by her parents to prove to them that she can make it on her own. She is strong willed and determined that nothing or noone will get in her way. So when she meets her new bosses son the feeling he brings out in her scare the crap outta her.
Quinn is sweet and endearing, and his sexy southern charm had me swooning from the start.

I really enjoyed reading Love Me Crazy. Leigh's writing is detail with complex characters that make you fall for them, and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

This book started really strong and then I have to admit lost me a bit during the middle section.

I loved seeing event planning being featured as a career worthy of a person as smart as Cassidy, it really didn't conform to stereotypes in this way :) Cassidy was also lovely to read, if a little infuriating.

Quinn was my favourite character and I honestly didn't see his 'secret' coming. His mother was really terrible, but his sisters really made up for it. They were a joy to read, Kat seemed way older and wiser than 18, and Ellie was lovely :)

Cassidy and Quinn were great together and I'd happily read more about them in the future. All in all a great read :)

Okay, that was explosive... Hey, y'all! Today I'll be reviewing Love Me Crazy by Camden Leigh. Thank you to Bloomsbury Spark/Bloomsbury USA for providing me with an ARC of this book!

Some thoughts:
-The plot hooked me from the very start. Usually, I deal with my TBRs on a first in, first out basis, but this book was exempted from that rule. Click on the picture above to be redirected to the Goodreads page of this book to read more about it.

This one was a sweet read..With some drama twisted into it..but mostly sweet. Quinn is very charming and charismatic, with a few broken pieces of his own, yet he is the one pursuing Cassidy relentlessly. Cassidy is hot and cold throughout the story and while I liked her I wasn’t mad about her.. I wish I could have had more insight into her story, other than a few mentions in passing and her ex douche.
Family drama is always present and even more since Cassidy is working for Quinn’s mother.
A quick and easy read.

I must have picked up this book and put it down at least five times. I love SC books normally and was really excited to read this one, but I could not get into it no matter how many breaks I took. I found Cassidy boring just wanting to shake her not to mention her boss which should have been put out of her misery years ago. The only redeeming factor was Quinn. What a Southern mouthwatering man! Where I didn't really like the book, I did enjoy his sexiness all over the book as it oozed its way off every page. I just love good southern men.

I was sent an e-arc of this book from Netgalley and Bloomsbury USA Children's Books in exchange for an honest review.
There are things I liked about this book, and things that I didn't. I liked Quinn, but was not the biggest fan of Cassie. I liked the humor and some of the family aspect, did not like the drama that was thrown in at the end. To see my full review go to my blog https://readingwithsam.wordpress.com/...

I started reading this book a few days ago and couldn't put it down! I loved this book I am a sucker for the south and loved the southern charm in this book. I will be reading it again soon!

I really like that Cassidy is her own person and likes to believe she doesn't need anyone, of course a 6 foot tall tattooed guy is my book BF so I was rooting for Quinn & Cassidy the whole time!
