Rugged Lance Raines rescued Cassandra Elliot from her Cheyenne captor--but he didn't know how long she’d be safe in his hands! Her long, loose hair flowed against his bare chest as they rode his horse; her sumptuous figure fit snugly against his hard frame. This was the kind of woman a man had to marry in order to possess and the wild, roaming scout wasn't ready to settle down. But with each passing second, Lance was closer to ignoring the consequences and giving free rein to the desire that surged through him.
RAPTURE'S TIES
After being kidnapped by Indians, terrified Cassandra felt secure at last in Lance's embrace. But as the innocent blonde leaned comfortably against him, she was assailed by new and shocking feelings. His masculine scent made her want to cling to him; his muscular physique made her long for his intimate touch. Shed always fantasized having a husband like him, yet she knew he had to be unfettered like the wind. As they journeyed deeper into the unmapped frontier, Cassandra soon forgot about marriage and dreamed of being joined together only by ECSTASY’S CHAINS
I am a USA-TODAY best-selling author with 41 years, 76 books, and numerous writing awards behind me. My major genre is historical romance. I have always written for standard publishers but am now writing strictly for Amazon so I have more freedom to write real history. My most recent publication is SHADOW TRAIL, the 6th book in my Outlaw Hearts series. I also wrote and published my first full-length contemporary story, DANCING BENEATH YOU, in September 2022, a romance involving mystery and a depiction of reservation life in the Badlands of South Dakota. My best sellers are my SAVAGE DESTINY series (7 books) and my OUTLAW HEARTS series. See my website (www.rosannebittner.com) for details on all my books - most available for Kindle and in print. I am known for great love stories filled with real history and high emotion. I have also written many Native American stories, all based on real history.
I love American history. For those of you who have not yet read my books, my stories are generally set in the American West of the 1800s and feature vividly described, historically accurate settings that span the US from Missouri to California, from Canada to Mexico. Many of my books portray the poignant history of our Native Americans, and though the characters are my own, I use real historical locations and events in all my novels. I have also written about the French & Indian wars, American Revolution, the War of 1812, the war with Mexico (the Alamo), and the Civil War.
National magazine ROMANTIC TIMES has called me the "Queen of Western Romance" and an "emotional powerhouse." My husband and I have traveled the west for nearly 40 years and I have visited just about every location mentioned in my books.

I loved this book. From the first appearance of Lance, I was intrigued. Reading his background throughly influenced his decisions in everything he did in his life. Cassandra was a little girl that ended up having to grow up way to fast. Her past also influenced everyth I ng she did. Young love is so tough and you feel like you will never be old enough to make your your choices. This book had so many twists and surprises that I couldn't put the book down once I started to read. I could feel the pain of young live. I felt the conflict of the wanting, but the person that was wanted, just to young. Growing up can take so long. I really enjoyed the interactions between the white man and indians. Kindness does get rewarded. So I want more of these characters. What happened later in life? If there was a family were they raised in the white man's world, or in the Indian way, or both. If you enjoy a good historical book, with a little of everything, then thus is a must read.
The h cried and just moped the whole time for the H, who was off getting another pregnant. Would have liked to see h have some personality other than a doormat for the H. Also, if the h had been raped would the H of still wanted her, it didn't come across as such.
While many of the heroines in Rosanne's books are young, I have found a hard limit of thirteen. The male lead in the book continually questions himself for having a vision of the girl as a women and desiring her for what she will someday be. It's not as if he were young too, he is 26. Just a little too much ick factor for someone who can read just about anything.
Sweet story where we see Lance meeting his future wife when she's very young, but knowing he's got to give her time to grow up. Enjoyed seeing Cass's innocent love grow and how Lance grew with her. I wasn't quite sure how everything was going to be tied up at the end but I liked how it all worked out.
Another Rosanne Bittner book to add to the favorite pile!!
I liked this but didn’t love it. Cassandra’s only personality was that she was a child and infatuated with Lance. She was very flat. The age difference was a factor for me also for she is a 12-14 most of the book and lance is 26-28. His heritage was interesting and I enjoyed his adventures.
I love Bittner's writing and her other books I've read, but am I understanding this correctly... Is this book about a 13-year-old and a 26-year-old? 😭 Oh no, no, no.
