Bowie Tamatoa is used to flying solo. After an infamous Special Forces career, he’s far more comfortable keeping his emotions under wraps and letting his fists do the talking. But every fortress has a weak spot, and Bowie is no different.

IT genius, Charlie Keswick might be the heart and soul of Macmillan Security, but she’s also the only woman who’s dared to look past Bowie’s beastly façade to the man underneath. So one night when Charlie arrives on Bowie’s doorstep after being chased by government-sponsored assassins, Bowie knows that he’ll do anything to keep her safe…no matter how uncomfortable it might make him.

But as the danger around them grows, Bowie and Charlie are forced closer than ever, and Bowie finds himself facing a difficult choice--bare his soul and fight for a future with Charlie, or protect his heart and take his secrets to the grave.

***

Part romantic comedy, part thriller, and filled with plenty of intrigue, BOWIE is the fifth novel in the Sinner Saints contemporary romance series.

Another amazing chapter of the Sinner Saints I loved getting to know all the characters and how they intertwined in each other’s stories! Bowie & Charlie were the most anticipated love story and it delivered in every way I’m super delighted to have found this series and I look forward to more someday

I love this series.
I finished them all so quickly because they were all so brilliant.
The writing and the banter between the characters is amazing as well as the storylines.
I will read anything this author writes.
I think her books are very understated.

4.5 Stars It appears the Sinner Saints Series saved the best for last with the big guy finally admitting his love for Charlie. Bowie is the quiet, giant of a man, that Macmillan Security is always sending on classified assignments. Whether he is near or far, his mind has been on the talkative, energetic, and friendly IT expert, Charlie. All Bowie’s “Brothers in Arms” and their significant others know Bowie’s head over heels in love with Charlie. It’s only Charlie that is clueless. As she watches all her colleagues fall in love, she secretly pines away for Bowie.
It takes serious threat from a rival security firm, a deadly childhood friend, a society wedding, an alliance with a handsome mysterious thief, support from the team, a kidnapping, and a fake relationship to finally bring Charlie and Bowie together. The only question left, is where is James’ accent from?

Bowie is the stone man of MacMillan Security and Charlie is the heart and IT girl of Macmillan Security. It is obvious to everyone else that these two love each other but neither of them are willing to admit it. Then Charlie becomes the target of another security agency that doesn't always operate within the law. She turns to Bowie to save her and with everything going on they finally face their feelings for each other. Can they save themselves and everyone else from this other group of killers

Same pattern as all the previous books in this series: courageous damsel in distress seeks help from one of the Sinner Saints. Both characters are clueless about the other's feelings. I was actually expecting a fun read due to Charlie's funny replies in the previous books and was quite disappointed. I think I smiled once or twice throughout the whole thing. Just not as enjoyable as the other books in the series.

Love this series. Always a hot romance, a good plot and suspense. This time the plot was rushed and not very creditable. The romance, which has been on the backburner for the first 4 books, is more fizzle than sizzle and the suspense was, well ... predictable. Not a glowing recommendation for this book. But, it is still a lot better than a lot I have read recently, so I really did like it.

Charlie and Bowie have been dancing around each other for three years now. It is perfectly obvious to everyone at Macmillan Security that these two have it bad. It is just oblivious to them. Charlie's brother is getting married and She is expected to participate. To say family relations are strained would be putting it mildly. Charlie's brothers childhood friend, Trevor, puts the moves on her and her reaction is YUCK, since he is a smug, self-centered a** with an nasty side. She "invents" a boyfriend, Bowie and that just ticks Trevor off.

Bowie agrees to assist Charlie, especially since she has attracted the attention of Trevor's company, Darktide Security, a nasty outfit of mercenaries. things go from bad to worse as Charlie uncovers Trevor's secrets and he ups the ante. Along with playing boyfriend and protecting Charlie, Bowie comes face to face with feelings he can no longer hide and he has to put it all on the line to save the woman he loves.

Good, not great.

Good book, worth the read. The story was a little slow. Bowie came off as almost slow, but I think they were going for stoic and physical.

This review covers the whole 5 book series. Dull, repetitive, lifeless characters. I bought the series for 99 cents on Amazon - you get what you pay for.

I ran across this author by accident and am I glad I did. Her Sinner/ Saints series is one of my very favorites. Bowie did not disappoint. I've been intrigued by his character from the first. He's dark and brooding, mysterious, the kind of man who can intimidate most anyone with a look. But when it comes to Charlene -Charlie - he's a goner.

She's a computer genius and a bit quirky but that's what makes her so appealing. Her parents are very wealthy with a slight touch of snobbery going for them. Her brother is getting married and thankfully, according to Charlie, she's not a part of the wedding. She does make an appearance at their party, however, where she meets up with her brother's best friend from childhood, Trevor. She never did like him but now that he's an adult, he's even more obnoxious. And sinister. Charlie would even say there was a hint of menace in his looks and tone. When he comes onto her she rebuffs him which only makes matters worse. She then discovers he works for Darktide, a security firm that rivals the one Charlie works for. The difference is, Carter Macmillan, her boss, does everything above board and in keeping within the bounds of the law. The same cannot be said about Darktide.

As a result of their conversation, Charlie realizes Trevor knows far too much about her, her employer, and more importantly, Bowie Tamatoa, one of their operatives and the man she's had a crush on from day one. When Trevor presses her about accompanying him to her brother's wedding, Charlie lies and tells him she is going with Bowie, that they are dating. She then races away from the party and calls Bowie, telling him she's being followed and asking him to help her. Of course he comes to her aid and she confesses what she did, making Trevor think she and Bowie were a couple. Bowie is more than a little bit familiar with Trevor and Darktide. He's had run ins with them before. And when Trevor threatens Charlie and those she holds dear, Bowie knows its only a matter of time before they face off again. He won't let anyone or anything harm Char!is and together they are going to do their best to take Trevor down.

This story was fast paced with lots of action. I read through it in one sitting. Didn't want to put it down. Bowie and Charlie were such opposites but fit together so perfectly. He was the silent type while she loved to talk. Some of their interactions were just plain funny. He didn't like anyone messing with her and all it took was a look to send people scrambling in the opposite direction. It was so sweet though when he finally admitted he had feelings for Charlie, something he found very hard to do as he wasn't used to expressing himself that way.

I also enjoyed the appearance of the mysterious art thief, James, who was introduced iin a previous book. They actually enlist his help in this one but not without a price. One Char!ie is happy to pay once she finds out there is nothing illegal involved. He adds an element of mystique to the story and there is the promise of him being around in the next book.

All in all, I can say nothing bad about this series. Can't wait for the next book to come out and the with it the possibility of meeting new characters.

OH. MY. GOSH! I loved the references to Bowie and Charlie in previous books of the series. Not too terribly much about her, but you could tell that Bowie definitely had a thing for Charlie. Everyone in the office knew it. They tried to get him to do something about it, and he threatened to dismember them. He seemed like he was never going to get up the nerve to do anything. He didn't want to risk his friendship with Charlie.

Well, Charlie needs a date for her brother's wedding. A creepy acquaintance, that happens to work with a rival, though shady, security firm is insisting that they go together. Charlie blurts out that she has a boyfriend. When she breaks the news to Bowie what she's done, he's not amused. Until they start following her, and threatening her life. Then it all changes.

Much of Bowie's internal conflict and deep feelings for Charlie are explained in this book. The author does such a good job of making you want to hug Bowie because he's so "sweet" but yet not taking anything away from the fact that he's a giant, a tough guy, a soldier, a man that gets things done. Charlie is a quirky brainiac. It's often difficult to like the heroine in romance novels. The authors try to make them too strong (bitchy), too independent (non-trusting), or any number of other off-putting things. Not so with Charlie. I loved her in the previous books and I loved her here.

Charlie begins to find out about Bowie's feelings when he says things to other people. And when he quoted Emily Dickinson to her mother? Oh, my gosh, my innards just completely melted!

I have to say I love the story line of hidden love, about people that are thrown together on a daily basis, but hide the way they feel. I love how we didn't have to hear about how he loved the heroine but was screwing bunches of women anyway. He's the strong, silent type. But when he opens up to her and tells her how he feels, how he's always felt...again melty, squishy insides. So wonderful!!

I stayed up all night reading this book. I was totally invested in their story. I had a BIG case of the feels when I finished the book, and then spent time rehashing my favorite parts. This was BY FAR my favorite in the series, and before I move on to another author and another book, I'm going to go back and re-read this book...because once was definitely not enough!

Thank you, Ms. Bell, for Bowie and Charlie!

Love this book, which FINALLY gets Bowie and Charlie together. I love that Bowie is a gruff tough guy, but right off the bat, you know he's in love with Charlie.

She continues to misread the signs as they fight together to bring down a top guy in the Darktide company, who are a bad news private company that serves the government.

Charlie's plans save the day, with help from James from the last book. He's one of my favourite characters, and I look forward to more from him and the group of guys he's bringing in.

Great story, fun read, brings a conclusion to this tough group at MacMillan Security.

I really loved this book! I've read all the books in the Sinner Saints series and was eagerly anticipating Bowie and Charlie's story. Bowie, AKA 'the wall of meat' has been in love with Charlie for 3 years and has never gotten the nerve to tell her. Charlie too is in love with Bowie and has said nothing. So finally they are forced into a situation where they have to be together, due to a threat to Charlie. Bowie is here to save the day. He will always be there for Charlie. The story is filled with danger and intrigue. We also hear from the other men of Macmillan Securities. Like I said I really did enjoy this story and the only reason it didn't get a 5 star from me, was because of the reason why Bowie and Charlie did not get together. I won't spoil it but it was just too ridiculous and IMO they wasted so much time. I mean seriously? I was expecting some big reveal but that was not case. All in all a great read and I am soooooo anxiously waiting to see what is going on with the mysterious James! Now. he sounds positively divine and I know Ms. Bell will not disappoint when we get his story. Loved it!

Bowie is the macho type guy that can't tell the woman he loves, Charlie, the computer geek from work. Despite that fact, Charlie is the only one that doesn't know his true feelings. When Charlie is ambushed about being set up for q date to her brothers wedding, Bowie's is the only name she can come up with, and thus starts the fun and games as they are both followed and Charlie's life is threatened yet again.

Adrienne has done it again, this was an awesome story that I'd been waiting to read, and was not disappointed. I have absolutely loved this series and am looking forward to what I believe will be the next follow up series. Although you could read this stand alone, I strongly suggest you read the rest of the series in order to fully understand all the characters and what has happened to get Charlie and Bowie to where they are in their own story.

Awesome series

I love this series and have been waiting a long time for these two to get together. I knew it would be worth the wait, and I wasn't disappointed. I totally love Bowie...and all the guys in the series. I will say this should be read in order since this couple has a lot of background info in the previous books.

I've been waiting for Bowie and Charlie's book and it was a lot of fun to read. This is one of my favorite RS series - it has a great mix of suspense/action and romance. I've loved Bowie and Charlie and the lead up from the previous books between these two and I loved watching them finally get together. I highly recommend this series but start from the beginning with Carter.

Love it

Love the Sinner Saint series. I'm always a fan of stories that have a great storyline and the sex scenes are not forced. It's a natural progression of the relationships. This series is awesome and I can't wait for James's story.
