Sunset Rivalry is book two in the Caliendo Resort series. You'll want to read this series in order. Who doesn't enjoy second chance romances? This is Anya & Quinn's story. If you have read Sunset Thunder or the McAdams sister series then you are well acquainted with Robert Caliendo. The search still continues for files and revealing secerts. The Caliendo family is trying to fix the wrongs but sometimes the past is hard to forgive & forget. You'll have to grab a copy of Sunset Rivalry to see if Quinn & Anya can finally have their true happiness. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Anya and Quinn’s relationship began two years ago. Anya’s father was not to be trusted and Quinn worked for him. That didn’t stop her from falling in love with him despite his shady dealings. Quinn had a hidden agenda in getting close to Anya and the truth of that secret keeps him from going all in with her.

This was a great lovers to enemies to lovers romance with a lot of push and pull in the beginning. These characters both have reason to keep their distance but the chemistry that flairs when they are together cannot be denied. I hurt for both Quinn and Anya as they suffered through so much to try to find their own form of redemption.

I enjoyed the pace of this book as well as all the secondary characters and the added color they brought to the story. The steam factor isn’t high and it’s a fade to black but still gave me enough to feel the passion between the hero and heroine. While this isn’t a low angst read, it isn’t extreme either.

Overall, this is a very nice book with characters that I cared about and was invested in. Would love to have had an epilogue but I’m hoping we’ll see more of them in the books following this one.

This is the 2nd Caliendo book and it's even better than the 1st! We get into more of Robert Caliendo's deceit and manipulation of people including his own family. Fortunately Robert is dead but his blackmailing etc. lives on and this time it's Anya & Quinn dealing with their pasts. They are a hot couple if they can get past themselves and their guilt. Really should read this series in order as they seem to build on each other gradually introducing you to all of the family members. Really good series though!!

Even the Caliendos can’t pick their family and now the ghosts of the late patriarch’s dealings are coming back to haunt and hurt not only members of the family, but others as well. Secret files, well documented and possibly devastating need to be found, need to be uncovered and lives need to get back to normal, free of the weight of mystery hanging over their heads. That is what brought Anya back, sneaking around like a thief in the night and that is how Quinn found her, on a mission himself to find files that concern his family, a family used like well-paid puppets to do her father’s bidding. Of all of the men to catch her red-handed, it had to be the one man she has never forgotten, the man who didn’t want her.

Quinn is hot, self-confident and aggravating as the devil, so Anya must gather up her “Caliendo” attitude as they put together a lame plan to find the files and split up, never to cross paths again. Guess their hearts didn’t get the memo, but too much time and too little trust makes for prickly, cool days while under the cover of darkness their nights are searingly hot. Can they survive what they may discover?

What Shannyn Leah has done to the Caliendos this time is nothing short of deviously brilliant! Amid the angst and anger of the past, the accusations and the partial truths, one man and one woman must choose happiness no matter what, but it’s easier said than done, especially as the final truths of the files are unveiled. Sunset Rivalry is proof that Shannyn Leah is maturing as an author with something to say! Her mastery of romance, mystery and turmoil, as well as her ability to weave her words into an engaging and high-tension tale will entangle the readers in the webs she has woven. Oh sweet Lord. I would give this 10 stars if I could! Having briefly been introduced, or really rather a reference to Anya in a prior release (this is a stand-alone novel but part of a series so you know of the characters prior to their personal "book") I did not realize how closely I would associate with her. I think I fell for her harder than I have for any of the heart-breaking, blood-boiling, scorch your retinas gorgeous males I have had the privilege of meeting in this series! Her trials and guilt broke me. Love this girl; love this story. Nothing...absolutely nothing I would change.

I like these stories that has a bit of mystery in them. There is also love, lust, trust, friendship, hurt, drama, passion and twists. A standalone but has connections to the previous books. You get updates on the characters that was in them. I recommend you read the whole series.
Great characters, storyline and plot. Very well written. A bit too predictable but enjoyable read.

Loved loved loved this book. Anya is determined to help the person she blames herself for hurting. Quinn is determined to find the files he needs. The two of them teaming up and finally admitting their feelings for each other. I love them as a couple and I think Dave, Pamela, Memphis and Rhiannon are pretty perfect too (thank you Shannyn). This book has a very special place in my heart and will forever.

This is book two in the Caliendo Resort series and while each can be read as a standalone, you may just want to read the others cause you definitely cannot just choose one Caliendo that you want to know more about. We wanted Anya’s story since she was so mysterious in book one and we want to know more about her father’s story and how this affected not only her family, but her. Don’t worry, if this is your first book in this series, you will get enough of the background to feel as if you know what transpired with her father’s dealings that impacted the whole family not only when he was alive, but even in his passing.
Quinn oh Quinn you may be hot, but your mystery was not what I really thought of when I met you in book one. My heart breaks once we know the real reason of why you were working for Mr. Caliendo. Oh, that fling may have been part of the game a couple years ago, but that spark is still there and that connection was real even if it started out as a fake. Will the search for the files bring your answers? Well, I know if they did or didn’t but I won’t tell. The mystery surrounding the files and the revelation is going to have you page turning until the very end to get the answers.
Anya may have left the resort two years ago and be ashamed of how events and people got hurt in her father’s dealings, but she is coming home to grab a file she needs to clear her name and then to head out again away from the resort. You can feel her pain, her sense of missing the restaurant at the resort and the shock she felt when it came to some revelations. Will she decide to stay once the files and secrets are revealed or will it be too much for her to handle?
There may be sibling rivalry in this Caliendo family, but Miss Izzy still needs to get herself knocked down and when it happens it better be a man who can handle her. Emma is funny and like the peace keeper of the family who is very outspoken and that is saying it mildly. I cannot wait to read the next sibling in the Caliendo family.

Ms. Leah is becoming a favorite"one click" author of mine. The Caliendo Resort is a series about the Caliendo family & the lies, betrayal & trust issues left behind when their father died. Anya had disappeared two years ago shortly after her father passed. She was afraid her family would find out the role she had in one of her father's secrets. On his deathbed he asked her to do him a favor. It went horribly wrong & a woman ended up hurt. Now she's sneaking my around the resort trying to get into her father's secret room to recover the woman's file so she can find her family. She knows the footprint of the resort. It can't be that hard, right?

Quinn took over his father's job as a PI for Mr. Caliendo. Marc Caliendo, the son, has askedQuinn to helping the family find Anya. He can't believe it's this easy when he catches her sneakers no around the resort. He turned her into the family & once she was back in the fold, told her he'd help her find the file she was looking for if she helped him out with his file. He can't stop the chemistry or his feelings for her from growing.

Shannyn Leah has managed to set up this story in such a way that the reader's attention is immediately caught & kept. This story has romance, betrayal, family tensions, lies & mystery. Anya's hurt & feelings of guilt catch your emotions & you can't help feeling for her. Quinn is hot, sexy & extremely manipulative. He has tension with in his own family over his actions & sexual tension with Anya. Quinn & Anya both need to learn to get past what her father's has done & their individual feelings of guilt. They also need to learn to trust each other & their feelings. The plot builds in intensity until the final twist you really don't see coming.

Anya Caliendo has been gone from her family's life and Resort for the last two years. Her brother Marc hired Quinn Barker to find her and make sure she is all right. Quinn used to work for Anya's father and help him dig up information to blackmail others. Since their father is dead, the family has been trying to make up for all of Robert's past mistakes. Anya is sneaking into her suite at the resort to try and find her key to her father's office. Anya's father told her about the files he had on everyone before he died. Anya has been taking care of a woman named Rebecca that tried to get away from Anya two years ago, fell into the street, and was hit by a car. Anya has felt responsible for her condition and wants to reunite her with her family. She needs the file to see where her family is living to reunite them. Quinn is also looking for the file on his sister Nikki to see if Robert has something to do with her death. Quinn needs Anya to get to the files so he is staying right by her side. They used to have a romantic relationship before Anya took off. Now it seems all they can do is fight and not trust each other.

I loved Anya and Quinn together and the heat the two produced. They had a long road to try and trust each other. They had to trust each other before they could tell the other their secrets. For awhile I wanted to bop Quinn's brother Dave because of how rude he was to Anya and her family. He didn't want to listen to any of them and he sure didn't trust them. I loved this book and strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of this book and voluntarily read and reviewed the book.

Two families pulled apart by a drift caused by lies, pains and a deceitful man; Robert Caliendo. Anya and Quinn used each other but develop a mutual attraction that they are trying to push away. Quinn confuses her by caring but pushing her away and sending Anya mix messages. She wants him but he is torn between his family and the woman he loves.

He wants her to find something more ,better than what he has to offer; She wants him.
Anya’s father’s dark manipulative side ruined a lot of lives and his children once again are paying the big price. Can she and Quinn leave the past behind, get past their families’ feud and finally let loose of their love for each other?

Shannyn Leah, as usual brings us in a world where we fall in love, get heart broken and keeps us on edge a few times! Even thou her books are standalones; I’m always excited to find out what will happen in the next in the series! Bravo!

She’s not the same vivacious chef that she was. She hasn’t cooked in two years, and it looks like she hasn’t eaten much in that time either. Guilt has been eating her alive as we see the legacy of blackmail and deceit built by Robert Caliendo almost destroy the lives of not only his own family from within, but many more throughout the years.

Quinn Barker had been Robert Caliendo’s digger of dirt, just like his father before him, only his own motivations completely differed. For one, Robert has something to blackmail Quinn into doing this dirty work for him, and Quinn himself had his own motivations. This goal was further complicated by his fascination and secret love for a certain gorgeous Caliendo chef.

Sunset Rivalry is a well crafted second chance romance that sees Quinn and Anya have another go at discovering love, trading secrets that neither of them know the true depth of, and learning to trust each other.

Trouble is, when Anya realises just who her guilty secret has affected, she’s convinced that those she loves will no longer want to be around her. There are plots within plots in this series, and as fast as my questions are answered, I always have more! 5 Stars for the continuing twisted legacy of Robert Caliendo.

How much damage can one father create? Read this to find out.
Anya has left her family and disppeared for 2 years. She's helping this woman Rebecca who she hurt while trying to help and feels a tremendous amount of guilt. In an effort to help herself, she sneaks back to her home to find the "files" her dad has on this woman so she can help her. Quinn, the man she left when she disappeared, notices that she's all of a sudden returned and sneaking into her home nightly but disappears in the early morning before her family can see her.

Anya's trying to find the file on Rebecca and Quinn has teamed up with Anya to find the file on who killed his sister Nikki. Unfortunately, Anya and Quinn had been in serious lust before she left. She believes he used her to get the file and never really loved her. Quinn, loves her but doesn't feel he deserves her and believes it was her father that killed his sister.

This book has twists and turns and you don't always see them coming. Another great book by Shannyn Leah. I can't wait to read the next one (although I'm dying to read Izzy's book).

This is the second book in the series and while technically it can stand on its own, I recommend reading them in order. Especially since characters from the other books are intertwined with this story. Even though Robert Caliendo is dead, he continues to wreak havoc on the lives of his family and on others. In fact, at this point we have no idea just how many people he has harmed over the years. His daughter Anya is determined to right at least one of his wrongs if only she can find a missing file. Quinn is also searching for a file that he thinks is key to solving the mystery behind his sister's death. Quinn and Anya were a couple years ago but now neither trusts the other because of Robert's manipulations in the past. Can the two find a way past the lies to admit their true feelings?
Once again, Shannyn Leah has written a great second chance romance with plenty of plot twists. Can't wait to see what's in store for Emma in the next book!

I enjoyed this book very much. It had a lot of twists and turns. Once it looked like things were settled it seemed that they were dealing with other issues. I am really enjoying this series. This is Anya's and Quinn's story. The Caliendo Family is reeling from the mean and abusive activities of Anya's father who is now deceased. All of them have been affected by it. Also others that were wittingly or unwittingly came into contact with the Father were also affected. Anya has been largely absent since the death of her Father trying to take care of a woman she did not know and didn't know who her family was. A woman she had somehow been involved with through the instigation of her father. Quinn as well as his entire family has been affected by Anya's Father too. I will not reveal any spoilers here; but this book will have you anticipating events and the next thing it is something entirely different.

Sunset Rivalry is a great addition to the Caliendo Resort Series. Anya Caliendo feels guilt over what her father has done to people, and she's trying to make it right by helping one of his victims. Quinn, who used to work for Robert, feels guilty for his role in gathering information on people for Robert to use against him. He believes Robert's file will also help him find his mother.

Anya and Quinn pair up, helping each other search for the truth and the files they both need to find closure. As their relationship develops, they help each other move past the guilt they've harbored for years over Robert's actions. I like them together and how their searches intertwine with one another.

I've enjoyed this series so far and am looking forward to reading more about the Caliendo siblings and seeing the family can ever completely right Robert's wrongs.

Anya walked away from the family a couple of years ago and is now back sneaking around her family resort looking for her file that can answer a question that has haunted her since she left. Unfortunately for her Quinn has also turned back up at the resort to track her down at the request of her brother but he is also after his own file he knows is there after working for her father. I love how their past relationship slowly reveals itself as well as seeing neither have moved on from each other but the drive to find the files and their distrust of each other and secrets they hold keep you guessing if they will end up together or if the files will ruin both of them. There are some great twists you don't see coming and is really well paced and I love how the whole family is included within the book so you get to know them better and get even more emotional involved with them all.

The Caliendo family is well-known, wealthy and at the death of their father the truths of his "business" dealings begin surfacing like an iceberg! Secrets swirl around this family painting them with a brush of lies, deceit and treachery. Anya and Quinn, lovers years before, discover that their chaotic lives, miscommunication and misunderstanding has been a road too well traveled and to find their happily ever after they will have to learn to trust and believe in each other! Ms. Leah writes this second chance at love romance with so much realistic angst and raw emotions that I gasped, cheered, and fanned myself from page to page! I absolutely love this series and Ms. Leah's terrific talent in making the written word come to life.

Guilt is a heavy burden to bear.
The weight of guilt is destroying her, so Anya Caliendo has come back home. She’s here to correct a mistake made following the consequences of her father’s nasty legacy of destroying people’s lives. What she doesn’t expect to find is Quinn. Secrets and lies tore them apart once. Will the truth bring them together or destroy them forever? You can’t help but feel sorry for Anya, her father was a nasty man and she got caught in the crossfire. With tension right from the start, I found myself drawn into the story and keeping my fingers crossed with Anya and Quinn that things will be ok in the end.

The love/hate relationship between the two becomes more than either one of the think is possible while they agree to work together. But can their new feelings become more when the truth if what her father did comes to the surface? Or will Quinn choose his love for Anya over his sense of duty for his family? With great characters and a storyline that had me laughing as well as yelling, this is a book that should not be missed.

Life doesn't always work the way you think it will

Anya's back or is she. Someone is sneaking into her suite late at night. So Quinn is brought in to find out. They had a fling 2 years ago. Will the fir light up again? They both have secrets that involve Anya's father. A sexy, well written story with well laid out characters and a storyline that will suck you in. This book will not disappoint.

When Anya left her family it was to find Rebecca and now two years later she is sneaking around to find Rebecca’s file, but Quinn is looking for a file too. When Quinn catches her sneaking around they make a deal as friends to find the files but they have been love with each other for over two years and keeping their hands off each other is quite a challenge. Secrets are going to come out the closer they get to the files and Anya and Quinn’s friendship will get ruined before it has a chance.

Quinn and Anya we’re destined to be together but there past we’re trying very hard to keep them apart . These two are perfect for one another but Anya's late father's indiscretions keep coming back to haunt them and to test their relationship to the very limits. I happily got lost in this story and couldn't put it down until I finished reading it. Great series and I can't wait for the next instalment.
