Hitman's Hookup

Rate this book
What if the man you hooked up with on a dating app turned out to be an international assassin?

LILY: I’ve always lived for adrenaline. But one night with Cruz has given me more adrenaline than I bargained for.

After being put on a leave of absence from my job as a surgeon, I’m tearing at the walls for an adventure. When I download Pyre, the hot new dating app, all I want is sex with a stranger. What I get is Cruz, the sexiest, most dangerous man I’ve ever laid eyes on. Now I’m on the run from assassins…with an assassin by my side.

CRUZ: I work alone. But for this mission, I need a believable cover – a hot woman on my arm. From the second I see Lily on Pyre, I know she has to be mine. The only problem is that I’m the man who nearly destroyed her career. She just has no idea I was the one behind the destruction.

The truth would kill our relationship; that is, if my assassin ex-girlfriend doesn’t kill us both first.

This full-length novel has smoking hot sex scenes, a happily ever after, and no infidelity.

This book was an unexpected surprise that had me rolled over with laughter, on the edge of my seat, and thoroughly enchanted. Usually hitman storylines involve the same kinds of clichés, but this was one of those rare gems that stands out from the rest. Cruz and Lily are a match made in heaven. She's a witty resident doctor on a sabbatical and he's a killer with a conscience. Lily takes a chance on a dating app, to fill her time with something other than her passion for medicine. And Cruz uses the dating app to find a woman to be his cover in a fancy restaurant. For them, hooking up isn't all there to be had on their first date. And their worlds unexpectedly collide, when on the run from a killer plot of retaliation. I loved every thing about this story. Cruz and Lily just seemed to fit, even during their first interactions and being at odds with each other. They were both sexy and funny, keeping your attention and the story going. It couldn't have been a more satisfying read.

I liked the characters but I can’t put my finger on how this went wrong for me. I think it is that their behaviors don’t make sense. I might have given it 2 stars if the characters weren’t likable.

I was trying to avoid spoilers but from the title you know Cruz is a hit man so of course Lily eventually finds out and her opinion and the things she does in response...the adjustment was still too easy.

The frienemies element. Cruz is also the dumbest “great” hit man. I’m not irritated enough to call it a waste of time and money but I would not recommend it.

Some Hitman

This book has all the makings of a great book, a dangerous hitman, a smart, capable woman and action, and yet it fell short. They kept saying that Cruz was some great assassin but honestly I felt everyone was more capable than him. I loved Lily her sarcasm was hilarious. One thing that threw me off was the ethnicity of Cruz. This wasn’t mentioned until 77% into the book (unless I missed it) and what I had been envisioning based on the description and his actual ethnicity did not line up so that was a bit jarring. Okay read but I was hoping for more.

Very good and at times intense contemporary hit man romance. Cruz is a hit man on a mission. His path crosses with Lily who is a resident at a local hospital. Unfortunately she's out on leave after a post-opener incident. She is stressed and climbing the walls. She signs up for an online dating service and ends up with a lot more than she's looking for. At times this book is intense but you'll be drawn into the story due to the intrigue and suspense. I received a free copy of this book solely in exchange for an honest review. This book is part of the set: Bad Boys to the Core. I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future .

Lily the doctor meets Cruz the hitman, or as he says, international assassin, and is drawn into his crazy world. Soon people are coming after her left and right and she’s finding a whole new way to play god, other than medicine! Cruz can’t believe what a hot, smart-ass, kick-ass woman he’s hooked up with and he’s falling fast. This story is a lot of fun and not to be taken seriously. The sex is hot and the action is non-stop. Hitman’s Hookup is an enjoyable read.

What a story. Assassin meets Doctor in residence in an online dating site. Very wild book keeps you reading until the book is done. This story is so edgy and so quick it was hard to put down for any reason. Vesper says " I like mine misunderstood, arrogant, and sometimes childish "about her male character and this about her female ones. " I like my women to have some spice and verve. I don't write doormats" These are understatements. This is the second book I have read by her and I am in awe. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 It was a cute story if a bit medically inaccurate. I liked the characters, especially Lily and I never even imagined the twist in the end. Overall a nice short read.
